"Here kitty, kitty. No reason to be scared." Natsu said as he was helping a poor little kitty with it stuck in a tree. Thanks to help from a ladder from a firetruck, he was able to reach up and got a hold of the scared little kitten. Once he got a hold of it, he climbed down and handed the cat over to it's owner. "Here you go, kid."
"Thank you!" The child said as he took his precious kitten back and had it safe in his arms.
"Thank you so much." The mother said. "That was awfully kind of you. Maybe I could get your number if I need your help again." She said as she tried to flirt with Natsu.
"There are other fireman more than willing to help. Besides, I don't think my wife would like it if I took personal calls." Natsu said as he jumped back in the firetruck and drove off with his partner.
"You could have at least gotten her number for me." His partner said as they started driving.
"You snooze, you lose. You should have just went for it. Go with the flow." Natsu said. "It worked for me and my wife."
"At least it would have made this worth it. Why are fireman called to get cats out of a tree when anyone with a ladder can do it? It be one thing if it was a kid, but a little cat?"
"Not a big fan of cats?" Natsu teased. Natsu's life seems like it's been going good. He's got a good career as a fireman and everything else in his life seems to be going well. As he pulled the firetruck into the fire department, he and his buddy jumped out. "What we do is important. It shouldn't matter what type of emergency we're dealing with. We saved a little kitten, and it made a little kid happy. That should matter more."
"I know. All I'm saying is that I bet your wife would love to hear some of your heroic stories. Doesn't Daddy want to look like a big hero to his sweet girl?"
"He already does. Saving a little kitten is a great thing." Both of them looked to where they pulled in from and saw Lucy walk in with her having a baby in her arms. "Nashi here already thinks Daddy is a big hero."
"Hey, you." Natsu said as he went over and kissed his wife. "Hey! There's my little girl!" Natsu said as he took Nashi right in his arms. In the end, despite the crazy circumstances that went on between the two of them and their parents, Natsu and Lucy still ended up getting married and had a child together. Lucy being pregnant was what she wanted to tell him. Ever since they fully rekindled their relationship, there was nothing holding them back from being opened and going public with themselves. Since then, they've been together for nearly two years and are now taking care of a daughter together. "What brings the two of you here?"
"I just finished taking Nashi out on a little stroll around the park." Lucy said. "I saw your firetruck pull in and I thought maybe I could give you a ride back home since you carpooled here. That's assuming you're free to leave."
"Am I?" Natsu asked his partner.
"It's been a slow day. I say go on ahead. If there's an emergency, we'll call you." His partner said as he allowed Natsu to leave with his family.
"Great. Come on, sweetie. Let's get you home." Natsu said as he walked out with his wife and child. Natsu really couldn't have been happier than having those two in his life.

Natsu and Lucy
The two of them rode home with Natsu riding with Nashi in the back so he could take care of her. These past couple years has been great for the two of them, and having a daughter in their lives just makes it all the better. That's because the two of them really love each other. It's more than just fun. Their parents were even fine with how things turned out themselves, especially since it means they have a granddaughter.
"Hey. Shouldn't you be getting another check for your book soon?" Natsu asked.
"Already did." Lucy said as she was driving. "I already stopped by the bank and made a deposit. My books are doing surprisingly well up in France."
"Why France?" Natsu questioned.
"I don't know, but I'm not complaining with the money we're making." Lucy said. "By the way, do you know where I left the breast pump? When we get home, it will almost be time to feed Nashi."
"Yeah. I left it in the kitchen." Natsu said.
"Why did you leave it in the kitchen? I told you to leave it in the nursery." Lucy questioned.
"Because I'm hoping I can have some myself directly from the source." Natsu teased.
"Natsu!" Lucy called as she was astonished he say that.
"What?! Nashi can't understand what we're saying! I can speak freely!" Natsu said. "You would certainly have some to spare with how big those are. A couple of my coworkers don't believe they're even real."
"First of all, those coworkers should know that everything about me is natural." Lucy said. "Second, you got your fill last night. Nashi gets most of it since she's a baby. You can't compete with a baby." Those two certainly have one heck of a relationship, but they couldn't have wished for any other one. As they pulled up to their house, they noticed that someone else was there. "Is that your dad's car?"
"Yeah. I didn't know he was coming over." Natsu said. Surprised that his father would pay a visit, they climbed out of the car with Nashi and went on in their house, but they didn't see Igneel anywhere. "That's weird. His car is here, but he's not."
"He probably just stepped out for a moment or is in the bathroom." Lucy said as she took Nashi into the kitchen. "Come on, sweetie. Let's get you some nice milk." The three of them walked into the kitchen together, but they did hear a strange noise coming from the second floor. "Oh. Sounds like your dad is just upstairs."
"Well, look at you."
"Did you hear that?" Natsu questioned.
"Yeah. It's just the baby monitor." Lucy said as she pointed to the one they had in the kitchen.
"Aww... Who's a pretty girl." Igneel said with Natsu and Lucy finding it so sweet how much Igneel cares for Nashi. Igneel has proven himself to be a loving grandfather when it comes to Nashi, but Natsu realized a problem.
"Wait a minute. If Nashi is here, who is my dad talking to?" Natsu pointed out as they both thought that was rather strange.
"The monitor in the nursey is a camera connected to our phones. This one is connected to the spare we keep in our rooms." Lucy pointed out. Thinking this was rather weird, Natsu went up to their room with Lucy following as she carried Nashi. Natsu went up to the room he and Lucy share and he went on ahead.
"Dad?!" Natsu called as he just opened up the door. "Oh god!" He called with Lucy getting a little spooked. Natsu backed right out and he acted like his eyes were burning. "Not again!"
"What?! Who's in there with your dad?" Lucy asked.
"Your mother." Natsu straightforwardly said with Lucy shocked to hear that. "Do not take Nashi in there because they aren't wearing clothes...and your mother's head is between my dad's legs."

Flashback
Lucy was pregnant, their relationship has restarted, and Natsu and Lucy feel like things were back on the track. Given how things were with them before, they felt like the clock just simply started again. They just simply kicked off where they left off. Seeing as how Lucy was had their child, Natsu decided to make it official and didn't want to wait anymore. He asked for her hand in marriage. Unlike his father, he said it because he wanted to. After Nashi was born, they were able to hold a wedding with only a few of his friends and family invited.
"Oh my goodness. What a party." Layla said as she stepped outside to a balcony and got some air. She just felt like she had to get out of there.
"It's a lot to take in, isn't it?" Layla looked behind her and saw Igneel there.
"You can say that again." Layla said as the two of them stood together. "I honestly don't know what to think of this. Don't you think they're a little young? They're trying to put their own lives together and now they have to take care of a child. Isn't this all a little too soon?"
"Perhaps, but those two clearly have something special." Igneel claimed. "Look at the bright side. We both have a beautiful granddaughter now."
"That our children conceived by secretly sleeping with each other while we were engaged. I can't imagine." Layla claimed with amusement. Seeing as how Lucy was pregnant, the two of them had to come clean about what they were doing.
"I know. It's like one crazy adult fantasy." Igneel said as they both somehow managed to find amusement in all of it. "Can you imagine? If we actually got married, those two would have stepsiblings, but they were sleeping together the whole time?"
"Actually, I find that thought a little disturbing." Layla said. "On top of that, they made planning a wedding look easy."
"That's because they have what we didn't, Layla. Those two have more than just passion, they have real love. We did a great job raising our children, Layla." Igneel said. "Lucy's a smart girl and Natsu's determined. They'll find a way to make it work." Things look a little edgy, but Igneel seems to believe it will all work.
"I think you're right." Layla admitted as she took a look back at the wedding inside and saw Lucy smiling with her new husband and daughter. "I've never seen Lucy as happy as she is when she's with Natsu. Knowing my daughter, she won't give it up without a fight."
"Plus, you and I will be more than willing to help them out with the baby." Igneel claimed. "While they're getting their own house together, you and I can do babysitting. It's not like they're going to do this alone."
"You're right. I'm just overthinking this." Layla said. The two of them were enjoying each other's company and it was nice talking to each other. "To think that could have been you and me."
"Yeah. Wonder what our kids would have done then." Igneel said. "You and I did have great times together, and it was more than just passionate moments with us. We had some actual nice moments ourselves, didn't we?"
"Of course." Layla said. "We were...a decent couple. You and I had some great moments and had a neutral attraction to each other. It just wasn't enough for us to actually get married. We were too blinded by the physical intimacy."
"Yeah, but hell it was a lot of fun." Igneel said. "It all felt so hot. Not to mention you being a beautiful woman."
"Igneel." Layla laughed with flattery. "It wasn't just me. You were quite a man yourself."
"I was?" Igneel said with interest. "Well, you certainly know how to make a man feel like a man, and if I was really the only one you got that crazy with, those men missed out."
"Well, you certainly made me feel like a young woman again." Layla said. "Now that I'm going to be called Grandma, I'm certainly going to need to feel that." The two of them had a nice moment and it was like all those moments were coming back at the two of them. Next thing either of them knew, they went to a hotel room and were ripping each other's clothes off like their own flame never went out. The thing about passion like what these two have is that it's blinding, tempting, but a whole lot of fun.

...
"Okay. Nashi's been fed and I managed to put her down for her nap. We can talk now." Lucy said as the four of them gathered. "What is going on? I thought you two broke up and ended things."
"We did, but things started back up." Layla said.
"Sorry you had to see that, Natsu. We both came to pay a visit, but you all were gone and we didn't hear you come in." Igneel said.
"Yeah, Clearly you were distracted and Layla had her ears covered...with your thighs!" Natsu said as he still didn't like what he saw.
"And you didn't think to tell us?" Lucy questioned.
"To be fair, you two kept your little relationship a secret." Igneel said.
"Yeah, but we weren't doing it in either of your beds! Now I'm gonna have to burn those sheets!" Natsu said. "I thought you two would have been more opened to us about this." Natsu didn't like how this turned out, but Lucy was doing her best to stay calm.
"No wait. Let's be mature about this." Lucy said. "Natsu and I both know how happy you two are with each other. You both have also been very supportive with me and Natsu despite the circumstances. If you two really want to date again, it will be fine with us." She said as she tried being mature about it and Natsu saw her point. They both want the same thing for their parents what they have. There was just a problem with that...
"Yeah... We're not dating." Igneel said.
"This is really just about sex." Layla admitted.
"What?! It's just physical with you two?!" Natsu said as he and Lucy were shocked to hear that. They weren't expecting their parents of all people to have a relationship like that.
"Heartfilia women... Am I right, Natsu?" Igneel said as he was implying that there was just something about them. Passion and love can be tricky things. Confusing one for the other is an easy mistake to make. You just need to be able to see it so you can pursue something that can make you happy. Igneel and Layla have a relationship of passion, but Natsu and Lucy have one of love. They'll keep finding ways to make it work...after Natsu and Lucy think of ways to explain this to Nashi when she's old enough. These are complicated family matters.
