Chapter 1: A Kingdom Falls.
"…in a single day and night of misfortune, the island of Solaria disappeared into the depths of the sea." –Plato, 360 B.C.
White clouds filled the sky as the water swayed calmly when suddenly in the distance dark spots were seen slowly growing into more distinguished shapes as they raced across the sky.
While they neared the sky turned dark and the water became treacherous as an alien sound filled the once quiet ocean, in the distance from where these figures came from a mushroom cloud could be seen yet as that dissipated a large wave could be seen rising and gaining on the fleeing flyers.
The strange shapes rapidly approached showing that they seemed to be machines in the shape of various sea life. As they rapidly raced ahead of the massive wave the woman in the lead who seemed like the woman in charged yelled to the man next to her,
"Fool! You've doomed us all!"
The man looked behind him in fear as the wave advanced and took many of his fellow men. He looked to his commander and saw the same fear in her eyes as they witnessed their own destruction heading for their sacred home.
"Τhe wave is approaching! We must warn Solaria before it is consumed general!" The soldier yelled out pushing his machine to its limit.
"Quick Men! Before it's too late!" The general ordered as more of her men were consumed by the massive tsunami.
They pushed their machines to the limit trying to stay ahead of the wave that was sure to bring their destruction at any moment. As they maneuvered through great cliffs that bordered the kingdom of Solaria they could hear the screams of their fellow men as they were consumed which only motivated them to go faster so that they would not share the same fate.
Once they were out of the cliffs the magnificent kingdom of Solaria was seen rising out of bright green plains and smooth water not knowing of the great destruction that would soon befall them. They hurried through the city trying to get to the center to warn the royal family but it seems that the Heart of Solaria had already sensed the danger as it sent out dark red-orange beams of light throughout the center warning its citizens of what was coming. As the general approached she could hear the palace guards ringing the bells and calling out to the citizens below,
"Everyone to the shelters!"
"Everyone to the shelters!"
She could see her people running in terror towards the shelters and see how her own fellow soldiers raced to the ground crashing their crafts in their rush to get to safety. She couldn't believe what was occurring within the city and how their great city may soon be destroyed.
She landed onto the ground looking for her King and Queen as well as the young princess. As she got off her craft she saw the royal family staring at the chaos surrounding them in disbelief and fear.
"This way your highness. Quickly, we must get you to safety." She cried as she rushed over to them gesturing for them to follow her.
"Nebula, what is going on? What happened?" Queen Luna asked as she followed her trusted general.
"A tidal wave your higness. It's heading this way and already has consumed many of our soldiers and I fear we may not be able to escape it's wrath." Nebula answered quickly clearing the way for her beloved Queen.
"Do you know what caused it?" The Queen asked.
As the Queen and general moved towards the shelter King Radius was trying to get his daughter Stella to move as she both seemed transfixed by the chaos surrounding her.
"Stella, come on we must leave!" He cried grabbing her tiny hand and dragging her towards her mother praying that this will not be the day that they are destroyed. However the sudden movement caused Stella's silver glasses to slip off her face, breaking on the ground and imparing her vision a little. She struggled against her father, wanting to get back to her glasses.
"Stella just leave it! I will make you a new pair! Now we have to follow your mother and Nebula to the shelters." He answered stopping to stoop down to Stella's level and grasping her tiny shoulders trying to show her that he was serious and that they had to hurry. Yet as he tried to calm his young daughter one of the dark red-orange beams suddenly surrounded him bathing him in it light as it turned a light blue-white. He turned and looked at the beam of light in shocked and as he stood his orange heart crystal lifted up until it was parallel with his chest.
His amber eyes slowly widened and were filled with a light blue-white light that also filled his heart crystal. As he stared up at the beam of light, his wife turned from Nebula looking for her husband and daughter yet what she saw caused her heart to seize. She saw her husband become surrounded by the blue light as her daughter held hands and looked around in confusion unable to comprehend what was happening to her father and what the blue-white light could represent.
All of the light beams that the Heart of Solaria had sent out configured together towards the King until they became a single thin beam that flashed over his heart crystal causing everyone that surrounded him to look away and clench their eyes shut as they moved away from their King
The thin beam slowly widened until even Stella partially covered, who still unable to comprehend what was occurring and continued to hold her father's hand. The King who seemed to be in a trance was slowly been levitated up into the beam and as he did, a silver bracelet with a sun bead on it slipped off Stella's chubby wrist as her father continued to be lifted into the Heart of Solaria.
"Dada", Stella cried reaching for her father hoping to stop him from leaving her. Yet as the King approached the Heart it could be seen on the border of the city center that a light blue-white shield was being raised closing off the center regardless of the numerous citizen that were racing for the center.
The shield was quickly closing leaving behind numerous citizens that banged and plead for the shield to open and allow them safe passage but it was too late, the shield would not open for anyone not even for the crafts that were rushing to beat the shields closing only resulting in the crafts crashing.
Families and friends were separated and those outside of the protective shield were left to die. Queen Luna looked in horror as many of her people were left behind to be killed by the massive wave and as she ran to her daughter she knew that she will most likely never see her King again.
"Stella! Close your eyes! Do not look!" She yelled pressing Stella's face to her chest hoping to protect her from the light of the Heart, yet she was unable to look away as her husband was consumed by the Heart so that he may protect them all. 'I will always love you, my handsome sun' was the last thing the Queen thought before the light took her eyesight, the last thing she saw was her beloved husband disappearing into the Heart.
High above them the once slow circling Heart of Solaria was quickly gaining speed and distributing a burning light blue-white light that soon connected with the rising shield completely covering the city center with its glow and as the massive tsunami swept up the outer reaches of the city the shield carrying its precious cargo slowly lowered into the ground until the ocean once again claimed the once green prosperous land.
As the last of the blue light vanished the ocean once again became still and settled hiding the once glorious city of Solaria, never to be seen by the world above again. At least that's what the people of Solaria believed…
Oh my! Talk about heartbreaking. No child or children should lose their mother. So what do you guys all think? yay? Nay? So until next time my lovely readers, READ and REVIEW.
