You know that odd sensation, when you catch sight of something you know shouldn't be there, but is still lumbering about like it owns the place. It was a small sense of the shock Tamago suffered at the sight of the ever familiar green giant lumbering by. In spite of speed being the name of her game, timeliness wasn't always a consistent factor, however for the past two years she's rolled up to front doors of the Murakumo Gym and Aquatic Center fairly on-time for her weekly exercise routine. Not once had she seen him here. Not. Once.
In all fairness this was perhaps the latest she'd ever been in quite a long time, but she had to have rolled in around this time before right? Perhaps she had just been hallucinating the SFIT student, she herself had been working some rather long hours to complete a project, so sleep hadn't been all too abundant in recent days. Having determined that this was the most likely answer, the young woman proceeded with her routine, focusing on the day's allotted schedule for upper body work. Despite the initial disturbance things were finally moving along as they should, working up a good sweat was just the kind of invigoration to start the morning. Aside from a few obvious leers she caught and promptly responded with a glare of her own, the minutes seemed to be flying by. It wasn't until she saw the apparition again during her curls that she was certain this ghost was a familiar spirit; broad, tall, and cleaning the nearby bench with rubber gloves, a mask, and an industrial grade solvent that was likely doing more harm than good. By the time he was done disinfecting the equipment, she was just finishing her last set and in the motion of calling out to him when a very disgruntled looking employee wandered over. Tamago was close enough to see but not enough so to accurately hear the exchange, but it would seem that some complaints about the stench of the cleaning solution clogging the air were being formally issued. This of course was absolutely incredulous to the big, burly SFIT student; sweat was a teeming metropolis of germs just waiting to smear against a defenseless patron such as himself.
It went over about as well as one might have expected, defeated; he was now resigned to trying to cover every usable surface with his own personal supply of plastic wrap...it was as surreal as it sounded, as well as equal parts entertaining. So much so that as she began give him a much more concerted observation as she was winding down. His routine became, well, surprising when it clearly should not have been; and yet here was Wasabi, benching one hundred and fifty kilos like it was a meager stack of paper. His form was flawless, rigid, and controlled, something you would expect from a man with a neurotic obsession with detail. Curious how why it just now occurred to her that such a combination of elements were a core part of the person she knew, it's not like he woke up and was suddenly a hulking, muscular nerd. Those chiseled lines, sharp definition, and raw power was such an odd juxtaposition to the crying, obsessive person he presented himself as, hell he could probably dead lift her with one arm without so much as breaking a sweat.
Even though her internal musing had come to this conclusion, Tamago wasn't too sure what to do with this apparent revelation, or even why she'd remained oblivious to the reasons why her friend looked like a proverbial He-man. Either way it wasn't something she could dwell on for very long, unlike her compatriot she had a morning lecture to attend; and as invigorating as the brisk workout was, even her schedule was being stressed enough. After a quick cool down and shower the young vigilante donned her customary sporty wear before travelling from the bathrooms to the front entrance of the gym, but not without a curt,
"Hey Wasabi."
It was uttered with a practice and timing that only a long time friendship, and malicious sense of dry wit could accomplish. Seeing as the dark male was utterly caught off guard, the panicked squeal of the now unbalanced barbell was a delight to hear.
"Huh, what? Gogo? You can't do that! Proper form requires…" he began to recover only to look and see that true to her speedy namesake, the young woman was already gone.
