Chapter 4: More Party Games & One Last Gift

Normal POV

2:15 PM

Before getting into the big game of the party the pizzas arrived.

" Okay everyone grab your seats and we'll serve you " announced Gwen as she and the others assisted in serving.

Louis was seated at the head of the table while the kids were seated on the sides, he was happy that Serenity sat on the right side of him along with Millie next to her while Mikey sat on the left with Miguel.

On each plate setting aside from goodies bags and party hats they also got noise makers as well which they all blew to entertain themselves.

" Oh dear these noise makers are doing their job," said Heather as she and the others opened pizza boxes " But they're having fun," said Lindsey smiling watching the kids.

" They are so cute too," says Katie smiling "True they are " answers Gwen carrying a box with a server" Let's serve these hungry little mouths," says Courtney also carrying a pitcher of punch "Let's do this " adds Heather as they all walk to the table.

Meanwhile, on the deck, the guys were talking amongst themselves...

" That was some game " laughs Cody talking about musical chairs "Yeah that was something which was also fun to win," says Duncan showing off the amount of fives he won from the bet making everyone laugh " I'll win that back " said Gwen's brother frowning.

" So DJ you and Katie details, " asks Geoff getting everyone's attention "Yeah wasn't expecting that," says Trent smiling at the friendly giant who couldn't help but turn red telling his friends about how they started seeing each other.

After the kids were all served food it was the adult's turn to eat as well.

2:45 PM

" Hey, Dad before we play the next game can I open presents? " asked Louis looking at Trent who came to check on things so that Gwen can relax a bit.

" Yeah definitely bud " answered Trent smiling at Louis " alright time to open gifts " he announced making all the kids cheer as they all got up from the table and ran to where all the gifts were.

Everyone gathered around while Louis stood on a chair anxiously awaiting to open what he got...

It didn't take long for him to get through opening them all he received clothes, a gift card, toys, and board games he enjoyed all of them.

" Thank you," says Louis to everyone while Gwen gathered the gifts and Trent collected the wrapping paper and gift bags.

As Trent started walking he winked at Gwen who also winked back because they had one last gift for Louis but it could wait to be revealed after the cake.

Once the gifts were done it was time for the last game...

" Alright everyone it's time to break the piñata " announced Trent making everyone super excited.

( AN: if anyone recalls breaking the piñata was the ultimate fun thing to do at parties and a bit dangerous lol good times )

" Oh man nothing like breaking something at a party," said Duncan smiling while Trent loosened the rope "Dude those things are mad fun " exclaims Geoff " I remember once the guys and I filled one up with con..." Geoff stops talking when he noticed Bridgette and Courtney were looking at him with an eyebrow raised.

" What did you and your friends fill it with? " asks Cody curiously but Geoff knew if he finished his sentence he was in trouble " Actually I can't remember," says Geoff smiling nervously.

" Hey guys come on it's gonna be fun " calls Gwen holding the blindfold and stick in her hand...

Once set and making sure the kids were far away, the first up was Louis once blindfolded and stick in hand followed by getting spun around a few times, Gwen quickly stepped aside.

" Yay go Louis " cheered the kids watching the birthday boy trying to hit the Turtle Piñata, when Louis tried swinging the stick he would miss it or it would go past him. He managed to get a few hits before his turn finished, which meant it was time for another to take a turn

15 Minutes Later

" Oh man it's barely scratched," said DJ smiling as they currently watched the 3rd kid standing still while swinging the stick " Ah yes Piñatas we're the best part of birthday parties " comments Alejandro watching the scene.

" Alright next up," says Gwen taking the blindfold off " Me," says Millie coming forward " WOO Go Millie " cheers Lindsey "Whack that turtle," says Tyler watching as Millie gets blindfolded "Okay good luck," says Gwen giving her the stick.

Holding the stick like a bat Millie prepares to swing "Bring it turtle " she says waiting for it. Swinging quickly and moving to different spots Millie didn't get a hit until finally she got one making everyone cheer but it wasn't enough to break it.

After trying a few more times to hit it her turn was done.

Next was Mikey who unfortunately got unlucky and kept bumping into the piñata or the piñata hitting him, and no matter how hard he tried hitting it not once.

Gwen was starting to get tired so Bridgette offered to blindfold the kids "Alright kiddies who's next? " she asks smiling " I'll go " said Miguel walking forward and looking proud.

" Yeah go Miguel," said Heather clapping "Show that piñata whose boss Hijo " cheered Alejandro "Yeah break that pinata " calls Geoff.

From the other side Courtney and Gwen sat on the side "That pinata is indestructible " says Courtney staring at the barely dented pinata " I know I would have thought by now the kids would have half destroyed it " laughs Gwen watching Miguel get blindfolded.

" I think the kids are gonna need some adult help, " says Duncan grinning "Probably as long as we don't swing it hard 3 yards over, " says DJ concerned "Did that happen once at a party you went to? asks Katie holding his hand.

Nodding yes "Yeah that was quite the swing I did at 7 years old, " sighs DJ making the others look at him surprised "Never touched a pinata since " he adds " I would have liked to see that, " said Duncan smiling at DJ.

Miguel's POV

This won't take long I'll bust open that aquatic animal in no time. Or my name isn't Miguel San Juan Rodrigo Charles Burros Muertos...

Once blindfolded I got handed the stick and got spun "Okay good luck " said the lovely blonde "Gracias Señorita " I said giving my good smile. Once I break it open I'll have everyone impressed, especially lovely Serenity.

I felt something swing past me and then in front " I got you now " I breathed turning around then swung hard to get a hit...

" YEAH!!! HE GOT A HIT!!! " said a classmate making me smile " he got a dent into it, " said an adult.

I tried to hit it more but now it was nowhere "Where are you? " I asked trying to feel around for it but then something tapped my head "Gotcha " I breathe before swinging the stick but then went up making me fall down.

" Hijo are you okay? " asks Papa as he removed the blindfold from me "Yeah I'm okay " I answer standing up "Well you got a few good hits, " he says smiling pointing at it making me smile.

" I just weakened it for whoever is next, " I said walking to the side "Okay Serenity your turn," says the blonde but I stop in my tracks turning around beautiful Serenity is walking up to get blindfolded.

" Dios mio I should have made it weaker for mi amor," I said feeling guilty.

I stand back with the others waiting "Go Serenity " cheered Millie and Mikey " You can do it " says Louis smiling " I'll try " answers Serenity as the blindfold was put on her.

" YEAH!! BREAK THAT TURTLE!!!! " shouts her Papa standing by her Mama " Woohoo go Serenity " she cheers clapping.

Once spun a few times Serenity starts this time everyone started calling out where to hit but as she tried to swing she kept missing.

Serenity's POV

I couldn't see anything and hearing everyone had me going everywhere.

I tried swinging the stick but I didn't hit it, I thought this would be fun. We all have been trying to break it but with no luck and there's candy inside.

" Serenity watch out " shouts Louis and suddenly I get him in front of me and I fell on my butt landing on the ground. I felt sad and wanted to cry.

(AN: there's always one cry at a kid's party )

" Daddy " I cried " Daddy " This time I took the blindfold off and then cover my face.

Looking up I see Daddy rush up to me "Hey now it's okay " he says helping me stand up " I can't hit it " I said pointing at the turtle " You did good " said Daddy wiping my tears "Do you wanna try again? Asks Louis daddy smiling at me.

Shaking my head I look at Daddy" You break it " I said giving him the stick " Yeah " shouts Mikey " Break it...Break it...Break it!!! " cheer the others.

" I agree we need adults' help," says Louis's Mommy smiling along with the other parents all looking at daddy " No blindfold required," said Louis's Daddy.

I look up at him smiling " Please Daddy can you help us break it " I ask this time Daddy is smiling differently.

" Kids you might wanna step back a bit farther, " he says making everyone "And Trent gotta bat? "...

Duncan's POV

( AN: Oh boy memories came flashing back to me recalling how the adults helped us break a stubborn pinata but also it was super entertaining )

" I'd say it'll take 3 good hits, " says Geoff standing next to me as cracked my knuckles followed by cracking my neck "That thing is going down, " says Tyler looking at the pinata.

Grinning at that paper turtle " I used bats to break mailboxes clean off their stands in one swing " I replied "Here you go " said Trent handing me a metal bat " Hello old friend " I said before doing a quick spin in mid-air and catching it.

" WOAH!!! " cheered the kids impressed by my trick "Alright let's do this, " I said walking forward...

" GO DUNCAN," said the others as I rest the bat on my shoulder I turned my head to Courtney currently smiling at me but for a tease, I winked at her.

Once at the piñata, DJ took control of the rope while Geoff held it, once ready I nod to go...

Once Geoff threw it my way I hit it hard so that at last a hole was made followed by DJ quickly pulling the rope, " he got it open " exclaimed a kid " GO DADDY " Cheers Serenity.

It was coming my way once again I hit this time some candy flew out making some kids run to them but were stopped by the others...

" ONE MORE DUDE!!! " shouts Geoff smiling "Count kids..." says Trent...

" 3...2...1 "

and just like that with one last swing I broke it open causing confetti and tons of candy to burst out, all the kids ran to grab what they could. I shook the broken piñata over them to make sure it was empty...

Smiling at the reaction I kinda felt overjoyed " Daddy " says Serenity rushing to me "Look" she adds showing me the various candies she collected "Woah that's a good collection " I said smiling "Let's go put them in your good bag " I explain as we all make our way back to the kid's table.

10 Minutes Later

We were all standing taking a moment to breathe after the piñata got busted open, I was currently enjoying a sucker Serenity gave me, "Boy these are still awesome " I breathed.

Feeling my arm getting grabbed I look to see Courtney smiling at me " your such a dad Duncan " she sighs " I do what I can to help even if it means breaking a piñata " I answer pulling the sucker out of my mouth.

" Yes but also you're showing the good side of yourself," says Courtney holding my hand and making my hands look at it " Yeah well " I reply grinning at the act I did today "Also I gotta say you looked badass out there " whispered Courtney into my ear very flirtatious.

Making my eyes meet with hers "Very hot too " she adds slowly taking my sucker out of my hands and then slid it onto her tongue before winking and walking away from me.

Smiling bigger I couldn't believe how hot that was " I'm getting lucky tonight " I sighed seeing Trent and Gwen coming out of the house and holding the cake together.

Louis's POV

Me and everyone were sitting at the table eating the candy we collected from the pinata, it was so cool watching Serenity's dad break it.

" Everyone...1...2...3 "

Turning to look Mommy and Dad are walking to me smiling with my birthday cake and a candle on it " MY CAKE!!!! " I shout as they put it right in front of me...

Everyone started cheering for me "Blow your candle bud " said Dad smiling "Make a wish honey" says Mommy.

I take a moment to think but I know what I want it to be but I won't say it or it won't come true...

Taking a deep breath I blow out my candle making everyone cheer and clap " Happy Birthday Louis " says Mommy kissing me on the cheek...

Once we all got served cake Dad took pictures of all of us even with the other parents...

" What did you wish for Louis? " asks Millie before she ate cake "Yeah tell us," says someone else " I can't say it or it won't come true, " I said finishing my cake.

Looking at Serenity eat her cake I couldn't help but blush all I can say about my wish was that I hope Serenity and Me can be together one day.

" Uh oh looks like one final birthday present needs to get opened," said Dad making everyone look but my eyes open to see a huge gift covered.

" Woah that's big," said Mikey as him and everyone go up to my present "Wow what is it? " I asked running up to it.

Dad and Mom stand beside me " Louis you've been good and so we're giving you that special gift you've wanted " explains Dad "Go ahead and see what it is " said Mommy as I walk up to it.

My smile gets bigger because I think I know what it could be...

Quickly grabbing the wrapping paper and ripping it off I see what it is and I couldn't believe it...

" THE DRUM KIT!!!!! " I shout jumping " Thank you, Mommy and Dad," I said giving them both a hug " your very welcome now you can practice your drumming," said Dad happily.

" Can I try them? " I ask looking at my drum set " Go for it," they said smiling.

Trent's POV

Yup call us crazy for getting our 4-year-old son a Drum set but Louis has been begging us for one.

It was shortly after Louis started preschool. He came to the studio with me one day and a coworker who plays drums was practicing. Louis was so fascinated by them that he begged me if he can try them, I asked the employee if he can show him and that's when it happened.

My coworker let me know that he gave lessons on the side, Gwen wasn't sure about it at first but thought maybe it was a phase Louis would have for a little while. Unfortunately, it wasn't, he went for lessons twice a week and whenever we were at the studio I let Louis practice, he was good at drums then again I'm a music guy.

Even Gwen heard him once and she was impressed by how good Louis played. His favourite thing to do was drum songs. Then when he asked us for a drum kit for his birthday we said maybe just to throw him off a bit.

" Oh man you got him drums," says Cody looking at Gwen "Your house is gonna be loud," said Bridgette nervously "Yeah but he loves it " replies Gwen watching Louis get ready.

Everyone was waiting to hear him play, helping him onto the stool he picks up the sticks "Don't be nervous bud " I said trying to encourage him " I won't I'll play good " says Louis smiling at me "Cool" I answered before letting him get to it.

He took a breath and immediately got into his world, it took a moment to figure out what song he was doing and he currently drummed " dynamite ".

All the grownups started cheering for him while his friends and classmates danced. My son was special and I couldn't have asked for anything else.

4:00 PM

Well, the party was done and over with, most of Louis's classmates were picked up and thanked for arriving.

Meanwhile, myself and the others were helping us clean up. Gwen, Courtney and Bridgette were gathering the leftover food and cake. Myself, Geoff and Cody were unfolding tables and chairs. Katie, Heather, and Lindsey, we're taking down decorations. Tyler, DJ and Alejandro were dissembling the ball pit which will be picked up tomorrow.

Then Lastly my mother and brother-in-law were picking up trash.

" Uh oh " exclaims Louis as he and the kids were drinking juice boxed "What's going on? " I asked looking at them " I spilled juice on my new shirt," he said nervously but Gwen walked over to him "It's okay I have a shirt here for you," she says leading Louis away to change.

" See what I tell you mystery stains," says Heather surprising all of us with her humour "Yeah it's true " replies Lindsey grabbing a balloon only for it to suddenly pop in her hand.

" This was a fun party guys," says Geoff carrying a chair to the side "Yeah I can't recall having a blast," said Tyler before slipping on a ball and landing on the ground. " Yes, it was the most entertained I've been " comments Alejandro gathering the balls.

" Thanks, everyone I'm glad you were all able to come as well " I replied folding the legs of the table "We're back," said Gwen as she and Louis returned "Dad look at the shirt mom gave me," says Louis coming down the stairs then running to me fast.

Looking up to see him wearing a white shirt I noticed it had four hand prints but also saying:

"Officially Promoted To Big Brother "

Looking between the message and Gwen I felt confused but then my eyes bulged up then I ran up to Gwen who was smiling...

" Babe for real? Really? " I ask but all Gwen down is nod and smile " Oh man...I'm excited and I couldn't be any happier...I love you Gwen " I add hugging her " I love you too Trent " she cries happily.

" What's going on? " asks Duncan looking at us "Read Louis's shirt " I answer before I kiss Gwen.

After everyone saw the message we got congratulated, Gwen's mom was thrilled to have another grandchild on the way.

Louis was a bit confused about what was going on as soon as we finished explaining that he was going to have a little brother or sister he got excited.

This day wasn't only a great birthday for Louis but also welcoming a new member of the family in seven months. And that's one awesome gift.
