Keith woke up in the shelter and noticed that his mother and Kosmo were still asleep. Then it dawned on him that he had woken up early. After a bit Keith realized why. It was Mother's Day, his first with his mom. Keith knew he wanted to get her something, but the back of a cosmic whale isn't the best place to find presents.

Keith remembered a tree with berries that Krolia liked on it not to far away. He could go there pick the berries and get back in no time. Deciding that it was the best choice Keith grabbed a bowl and set out for the tree. Kosmo soon joined him startling Keith so that he nearly dropped the bowl.

The berries looked like grape sized watermelons and tasted like cotton candy flavored Dumdums. It didn't take Keith long to fill the bowl, though he did eat a few, and carefully made his way back home. Krolia woke up just as her son sat down. "Good morning, Keith." She said as she sat up. Keith handed her the bowl and smiled. "Happy Mother's Day." He said happily.

Krolia was surprised and touched that he remembered, after all Keith had never had a reason to celebrate this day. At that moment a flash happened. Six-year-old Keith handed Coleen a card that said "Happy Auntie Day" with a big smile on his face. Behind him his father was talking to Sam and showed him a card Keith had made for his mom.

"What can I say Kai, your son believes that his mom is coming back every day." Sam sighed.

"I'm just worried what will happen he stops believing that." Kai whispered.

Krolia was shocked she had not expected this. How could her baby have such high hopes when he had no memory of her. Keith snuggled up close to his mother purring unaware of her thoughts and thinking nothing of what they had just seen. Another flash showed twelve-year-old Keith looking out of a window at the orphanage with a lavender plush dinosaur. "Mom please come and get me things are getting worse. I know you can't hear me and that you are probably busy but happy Mother's Day." He said trying to hold back tears.

Tears streamed down Krolia's face; Keith had obviously needed her but she hadn't been able to be there for him. Yet somehow, he had held onto hope that they would be reunited. Keith nuzzled his mother reminding her that she was here now and that is what mattered. Krolia just whished she knew where her mother was so that they could the day with her. "Mom, you're the best mama ever." Keith said and that was the best present he could have given her.
