Girlfriends Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright, and Marcy Wu woke up to find they were burning up and having trouble swallowing.
"I don't feel so good," Anne said.
"Me neither," Sasha said.
"Same here," Marcy said.
They suspected they had strep throat. They actually had it a few times as kids, but they needed to confirm it.
They stuck cotton swabs down their throats and took their temperatures.
The tests they took confirmed their suspicions. They had strep throat alright.
Anne, Sasha, and Marcy called their bosses to let them know they were not going to be able to go into work today.
With the girls unable to care for themselves, Anne also called her mom over to have her take care of her and her girlfriends.
Mrs. Boonchuy arrived, well-prepared to make sure Anne and her girlfriends could be well-taken care of, as well as taking precautions to make sure she didn't catch strep from them as well.
"Anne, I'm so sorry you and your girlfriends are this sick. I remember getting you through strep throat several times when you were a kid," Mrs. Boonchuy said.
"It is highly appreciated that you could get us through this, mom," Anne said.
"You have been a good friend to me and Marcy over the years, I thank you for going out of your way to take care of us," Sasha said.
"I hope you found backup workers at Thai Go," Marcy said.
"It's all taken care of," Mrs. Boonchuy said.
For the entire day, Anne, Sasha, and Marcy had the pleasure of being cared for by Mrs. Boonchuy, who called in prescriptions for medicine that would help the girls get over their strep throat as well.
Mrs. Boonchuy kept coming back for a few days until the girls were completely free from the strep throat that was sidelining them.
When they were all better, they felt completely refreshed, and went back to work.
