Centuries ago, magical jewellery called the miraculous were created. And in among these artefacts, are the two most powerful: the ladybug and Cat Miraculous which when put together can rewrite Reality itself. Over the years many have tried to get their hands on these Jewellery of power however standing in their way are the duo of-
Ah, the city of Paris, the city of love and lights. A truly beautiful and perfect in every way. The streets were filled with people, the entire area seemed to be more exciting than you could ever imagine. The buildings were so majestic and the leaves of the trees were so green that it almost seemed like the city was breathing. The people seemed to be happier than you could ever imagine. Their faces showed smiles and happiness as they wore various outfits of elegant clothing. beautiful and full of wonderful places to be, too much for one day.
"I AM SO LATE!!!" A young teenage boy screams to himself as he runs through the street with his bag in hand trying to get to school. This is Marin Dupain-Cheng. Just your average teenage boy with bluebell eyes and short black hair, which almost has a bluish tint to it. He wears a very dark grey blazer with rolled-up sleeves; the inside of the blazer is lined in white with light fuchsia polka dots, and it has black trimming. Underneath, he wore a pink t-shirt with black stitching and a flower design below the collar. Marin also wore light red rolled-up jeans and black shoes.
"Come on, I can't be late on my first day! Come on!" He said to himself, running as fast as his skinny legs can carry him, running as a man possessed. "Come on one more corner and I'm-" But as he turned the corner, Ploughed himself into another person causing them both to fall to the ground.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you alright?!" Marin furiously apologised, trying to pick up the scattered pieces of paper that fell out of his bag as the person got up. The man in question was an older, maybe 50 years old Asian man with short gray hair and a clean-shaven face. However, despite his age, he was at least 6 ft tall with a noticeably muscular build. He wore a loose navy blue Shirt and beige Pants.
"I'm fine." He said politely, brushing himself off. Marin went to say something only to be caught off guard by his eyes. Those chestnut brown had this peaceful deep look about them, the eyes of a grandfather. Ones that made you feel safe and cared for. His gentle eyes had this soft look about them. "But are you okay?"
"Oh, this? Psst, it's not the first time I bumped into someone while running late for school!" Marin said with a half-joking tone, smiling in an attempt to lighten the mood. "Though I do kinda need my schoolwork back." He pointed sheepishly as the grandfatherly man looked down and saw that he was standing on a History book.
"Collège Françoise Dupont?" He said, reading the name of the book before picking it up and mulling it over. "If I'm not mistaken that's the school down the street is it not?"
"Yes," Marin said hesitantly as the older man handed him back his book.
"You know, that's a pretty prestigious school is it not?" He asked, turning to look at it from a distance. "You're either very talented or your parents are very rich to get in?"
"Well, a little of column A, a little of column B, my parents and I worked hard to get me here," Marin explained, smiling slightly. Remembering all the efforts of his parents that got him here. As he spoke, the grandfatherly man gained a soft, almost nostalgic look as an alarm went off telling him he got to go now!
"Look I got to go now or my teacher is going to lay into me!" Marin said, frantically as he ran off as if his life depended on it. The elder man smiled watching the young man run off as he began to speak. "There's something about him that…"
"Are you sure, master?" A voice, calm and orderly. "I mean after last time-"
"What happened last time was…" He didn't have the heart to finish as he thought back to…HIM. "Besides it's not up to me, it is up to them."
He then pulled out two boxes engraved with Chinese characters and set them down on the floor. "I feel the time has come again, go find the ones you think can be your most suited wielders."
And like that two orbs of light Emerged out, one red and black and the other black and green before flying with great speed out into the city searching for the ones who would be the next hero of our time.
"I just pray I won't have to bury any more friends."
One of these orbs, the black one, flew far off towards the rich part of town and into the Agreste mansion, owned by fashion legend and creator and namesake of the Gabriel brand, Gabriel Agreste. Gabriel Agreste himself was a handsome man in his mid-30s with dark eyes, dark greying hair, and a set of black glasses that sat perfectly on his face, giving him a powerful and intimidating look. Currently, he wears a dark beige suit with a white undershirt, tie, and belt. The fashion designer was currently working in his studio/office, working on a design for a new line of coats. When he heard a knock on the door his assistant, Natalie made herself known.
"Mr. Agreste, might I come in?" She said, her voice smooth and melodic.
"Yes, Natalie." With that, the door to his office was open as Nathalie Sancoeur entered the room. She was a woman in her late twenties with pale skin, bluebell eyes, and black hair with a streak on the left side of her head that is dyed a red colour. She was dressed in a black suit jacket with a blood-red blouse and black trousers with heels.
"This week's work schedule." She Said handing her boss the paper. Her boss didn't even say anything, just taking them and going back to work before turning back when he noticed that she was still there.
"And what else, Natalie?" He said in an exasperated manner. Natalie sighed.
"I have been asked by your daughter to ask you to reconsider your decision regarding public schooling." An irritated tick escaped Gabriel's mouth.
"Tell Adrienne that my decision remains unchanged, she can get a much better education here in the comfort of your own home rather than going to some money-pit school." He said with a cold, hard tone. "And while you're at it, tell her that I won't be changing my mind either."
As he said that, neither he nor Natalie noticed that his daughter, Adrienne Agreste was standing on the other side of the room, listening in to everything that was being said."The world is a terrible place and I can't afford to lose another person who I care for, I'm protecting her."
"Yeah right, protect me." She said to herself. While she understands his fears, especially after what happened to her…
'But I need connections and be in society to live after he is gone. Your fear is making you blind.' Adrienne thought as her mind was made up, quickly heading to her room, packing her bag as she snuck past the security her dad hired, and ran as fast as she could out of that shit house, jumping the fence and heading to the school that Chloe told her about.
"If father doesn't want me to go to school then tough luck because I'm done playing the good girl!" She told herself was ready to take her leap into a different world, never noticing the black and green orb that was following her.
Thankfully, Marin managed to make it into the classroom before the late bell rang. So far so good, sure there have been a few mishaps this morning but he didn't start the year late, so that was progress.
Slap!
Unfortunately, his hope of a bright new school year was dashed when a familiar hand slammed on the desk in front of him.
"Well, well, if it isn't Marin Dupain-Cheng."
Followed by the shrill voice of its owner who was immediate, the carefully manicured nails were immediately given a dead giveaway. Marin looked up from his desk and cringed at the sight of the hand's owner. Not because of the way she looked, the girl was quite attractive, standing at a medium height, with flawless white skin and gorgeous ocean-blue eyes which were covered in light blue shadow glared down at him as her plump lips curved into a self-assured, confident, bordering on an arrogant smirk. Her honey-blonde hair hangs loosely down her back as she wears a yellow cowgirl hat with a black ribbon, a bejewelled buckle, and white-rimmed sunglasses on her head. The blonde was dressed in the finest of designer wear, this day wearing a honey-yellow dress with a black leather corset, a ruffled skirt of yellow and white layers, and white leggings with black and yellow platform heels. No, the reason was that right in front of him was Chloe Bourgeois, the bane of his life. So much for not being in the same class as her. Here they go again.
"You know if you keep looking at me like that, I might start thinking that you're a zombie," Chloe explained, letting out a chuckle.
"That's my seat." Marin raised a brow at her, confusion evident on his face at her sudden statement. "Since when? I've always sat here."
"Not anymore," A new voice made Marin lean forward and caught sight of Sabrina Raincomprix, Chloe's "best friend". A short girl with chin-length orange hair styled in a bob, and sea-green eyes gave a smug grin as she wore a purple and blue vest over a white long-sleeved shirt, bright blue shorts, brown leggings, and a pair of glasses over her eyes. "New school, new year, new seats."
"But that's not-"
"Aw, look at that creepy Marin thinks he has balls?" A sadistic voice whispered into his ear causing him to jump back as turned back to see a rather short (never say that to her face unless you want to get your shit rocked) slender teenage girl with brilliant cerulean eyes and messy pink/red hair in a bob cut that is partially tied into a small ponytail on the right side, now sitting down at his seat with a mocking smile plastered on her face. She wears a black long-sleeved, slate grey shirt underneath a dark brown tank top. Each sleeve has a lime green scale patterned fabric snake, starting from her shoulders and coiling around her arms until their heads stop at her wrists. She also wears black jean shorts with pink stitching and black lace at the cuffs, black 1/2 hose length socks with two pink horizontal stripes, and black high top shoes with pink lace, black and lime green chequered sides with a wavy orange line over it, and white soles. This was the third member of the mean girl's group, the fierce and sadistic tomboy, Alix Kubdel. "Ah, what's the matter? What kind of man are you afraid of a girl? So weak and creepy."
"How am I creepy?!" Marin tried defending himself, causing them to laugh at his shaky tone. "Besides, you're the one ganging up on me, 3 on 1 isn't exactly 'brave' last I checked."
"You're right." Chloe said, getting face to face with Marin stammered back a bit as she stared at him down. "But why should we care when trash like you exist? Why would I even pretend that I am even close to the level of utter uselessness that you are? So why don't you go sit by the new trash over there?"
Chloe suggested pointing out a new student that Marin hasn't met before. The girl in question turned when she was mentioned to give a glare at Chloe, recognising Chloe's insult.
"But-." Marin tried but Chloe cut him off. "My dearest Adrikins arriving today and since the seat in front of you is going to be hers, this one is going to be mine as there's no way in the darkest pits of hell, I will ever let the likes of you anywhere near her!" He wasn't even going to bother asking about the 'the like you' part given how nasty Chloe could be. No, there was a better question he needed to ask.
"Who's Adrikins?" His question only seems to make Chloe laugh.
"You don't know? I would've thought you knew considering who your "idol" is." She mocked Marin who frowned in response to that. "Sad isn't it?"
The other girl gave a nod of agreement as she continued." Adrienne is a famous model, who happens to adore me and loves me like a little sister."
'What a sad existence this person must live.' Marin thoughts, not having the courage to say it out loud. But still, there is something about that name that sounds so very familiar.
'Wait, Adrienne? As in Adrienne Agreste, the daughter of Gabriel Agreste!' God, he was so stupid not to cop that sooner.
"Oh, Adrienne, how I miss you so very much."Chloe said, entering into a weird hysterical rant as she leaned against the table. "First, your father forbids you from attending school and now he's not even allowing me to see you! Oh, how ridiculous, how utterly ridiculously unfair that my best friend must be treated!"
Marin didn't miss how Sabrina momentarily looked saddened at that comment as Alix gave her an annoyed look only for both to be gone as soon as Chloe turned around grinning with determination.
"But today will be the day where we meet again," The grin on her face turned into one hell of a grimace. "So why don't you go on and get the hell out of my SIGHT!"
Marin wanted to say something but he knew that there was no point, as he knows there were few certainties in life. Death, taxes, and Chloe getting what she wants, it didn't matter what he did as at the end of the day Chloe will have her way and there was nothing that he could do to stop it. So, why not accept the inevitability of his fate? He's been doing it for the last three years of his life. He can go for a fourth.
"HOLD IT!" Before he could do anything, a voice that Marin didn't recognise loudly shouted, surprising everyone in the class. Marin turned to see that the voice belongs to the new coming as it came from the new girl.
"And who died and elected you as the Queen of Seats?" The new girl said in a challenging tone, her greyish-gold Hazel eyes, which were behind a pair of glasses, glared at the group of girls, specifically the blonde ringleader. The new girl was a Martiniquan Creole-French girl with caramel-coloured skin, her short but curly reddish-brown ombre hair with light copper-red tips, framed heart-shaped face perfectly with a mole above her forehead to add that sense of imperfection. Her outfit consists of a white tank top, a long-sleeved plaid shirt, and black sweatpants which hugged her curvaceous body, alongside she wears a set of Gabriel-branded white sneakers with black tops and a small sword necklace around her neck.
"Ooh look, we have a little goody-two-shoes in our class this year," Chloe mocked with the new girl narrowing her eyes. "What are you going to do Super Newbie? Shoot beams at me from your glasses?"
"I would love to?" The girl said with a glare, her heart-shaped lips, which were covered with a light red-coloured lipstick, were turned down in a frown as grabbed Marin by the arm. "Come on."
Marin stood in shock as he was being pulled away, surprised at what happened. In all of his days of dealing with Chloe, no one had ever stood up to her ever out of fear or indifference. So to see some rando stand up to Chloe for him, he was honestly at a loss on what to do. Unfortunately for him, well in his thoughts, he had miscalculated where the step would be and-
And suddenly trip on it, and take a tumble girl attempted to grab him to stop his descent to the floor only to be brought down to the steps as well, the box of sweets fell over them breaking on the impact on the floor.
'God, just hate me today does he?' Marin thought ignoring the snickering of Chloe as he pulled himself up, stopping as he felt his hand grabbing on something big, soft and squishy. Confused, Marin decided to look and shatter them open upon realising that he was on top of the new girl, her face flushed with embarrassment.
But that meant that what he's squeezing, is her-
Shit his hand is on her!
"Ah! I'm...I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Marin immediately pulled away and flopped onto his rump, muttering his apologies to the new girl, trying to not die in embarrassment.
"Don't worry about it," the new girl said, nudging him, giving her a small smile, though her face still flushed at being accidentally groped by him.
"Alright class," the teacher, Miss Caline Bustier said as she walked into the class, her reddish-orange hair pulled into a high bun, wearing a light blue jacket with a white shirt underneath and blue pants.
"Has everyone found their new seats?" she asked, her strong cyan eyes scanning the room as quickly as everyone returned to their seats.
"I have to thank you for what you do back there, not many people can handle Chloe like that." Marin said, trying to place the "incident" out of his mind as the new girl gave an appreciative smile.
"I just did it like Majestia would." The girl said, perplexing Marin before she showed her phone a comic cover with the said hero on it. "She says that all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing."
"Okay, then?" Marin said, having had no idea where she was going with this.
"Well that girl over there is evil and we're the good people," The girl elaborated with Marin trying not to snicker at the image of Chloe's cartoonishly evil laugh while twirling a stereotypical moustache came to mind. "We can't let her get away with it."
"Easier said than done," Marin wished something could be done about it. "She's the Mayor's daughter, so she gets away with a lot."
"Only if you let her push you around." The girl wouldn't budge and Marin smiled at that before holding his hand out to her. "Names Marin."
"Alya." The girl accepted and began a grand friendship. Meanwhile, across the room, Chloe was staring at the seat in front of her in confusion. "Where is she? Adrienne said she would be here."

Just outside the school entrance a girl around Marin's age was run like her life depend on it. Her blonde-haired, swad to the side as she looked over her shoulder, her green-eyed scanning as she ran for her life. Shouldering a blue bag over her brown leather jacket over her favourite sleeveless dress top. She also wears a set of blue jeans and her white runner each bearing the Gabriel brand logo.
"Come on, homestretch!" She said to herself as she made it to the school steps only to stop at the screeching sound of a car as she turned to see Nathalie, alongside her was rather tall with dark hair and grey sideburns, wearing a dark business suit.
Great, her bodyguard was here as well, she supposed she shouldn't be surprised.
"Adrienne, please reconsider." Nathalie said as she walked up to the model, "You know what your father wants."
"Nathalie, Father won't be around forever neither will you. I want to succeed in the world I need more than textbooks and tutors, I NEED to know PEOPLE and this is the best way to do that."Adrienne pleaded, wanting nothing more than to go to school. To be a normal kid, to make friends if only for one day.
Nathalie's face showed something akin to pity right as Adrienne then ran into the building making Nathalie hang her head. Meanwhile, Adrienne's bodyguard was ready to go in and "escort" her home, only to stop in surprise when Nathalie held out a hand.
"It's such a shame we only found her until after schools ended." She said, looking back where Adrienne once stood before getting back into the car, leaving for the bodyguard to shrug and get back in to drive off.
At the same time, the school bell rang signifying the class ended with the students getting their stuff gathered while Miss Bustier spoke up. "Those of you who have PE, head towards the stadium," She said, not seeing one of the students getting a note passed to him. "The rest of you head over to the Library-."
"KIM! " Loud a teenage boy with grey eyes his hair is short and black, except for a tuft of long, dyed blond hair above his forehead. He wears a black t-shirt with a white design of two crossing bones printed on the chest. He also wears black slacks with large belt loops and large pockets, along with white socks and khaki-coloured work boots.
"Ivan Bruel!" Miss Bustier put a stop to it immediately. "What is going on?"
"It's Kim!" Ivan said with a snarl, holding the note with one hand while pointing at the other kid who sitting opposite of him, a Kim Chiến Lê teenage boy with olive skin, grey eyes and black hair, which is styled into a sharp quiff with ends dyed gold. Kim wears a red, short-sleeved hoodie jacket with a big front pocket and hoodie and some white outlines at certain places. On the front of the jacket, there is a white logo, which is a downward-pointing pentagon outline outside of a smaller, filled-in pentagon with a red corner and a star. He pairs his top with navy blue track sweatpants, and red, white, and black sports shoes.
"I'm so going to."
"Principal's Office now." Miss Bustier said, seeing this escalating as Ivan grimaced before stomping off.
"What was that about?" Alya asked Marin, not understanding what just happened."I wouldn't put it past Kim to say something stupid."
While to Marin's knowledge they were friends, Kim was always the type of guy that knows how to wind someone up, especially when he was making stupid dares. Nothing out of the ordinary there. So, was there a part of him telling him to go after him? He and Ivan never talked before. Hell, Marin wasn't even sure if Ivan knew his name.
Still…
'Maybe, I should go talk to him. He seemed pretty mad.' Marin thought to himself, slipping through the crowd of students that were mingling in class as he went to go talk to Ivan.
Unaware of the red and black orb that had been watching him this entire time, nor the arrival of a Pitch black butterfly.
'So, this is the inside of a school look like?' Adrienne thought, looking around the school interior. She couldn't believe that she finally got to go to school and have a normal life-
"OH MY GOD! IS THAT ADRIENNE AGRESTE!" Someone yelled, drawing attention as a ton of students recognised Adrienne due to her being a famous model and they began to flock around her.
"Hey, uh everyone how are you doing!" Adrienne said trying to be a charming member of society!
However, whatever she was about to say was drowned out by the sound of other people's voices as they completed to say or touch her.
"ADRIENNE CAN YOU GIVE ME YOUR AUTOGRAPH!?"
"ADRIENNE YOU ARE SO COOL CAN YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND?!"
"ADRIENNE CAN I GET YOUR NUMBER!?"
"YOU HAVE SUCH NICE HAIR!?"
"HER SKIN IS SO SOFT I NEED TO TOUCH IT!?"
"ADRIENNE WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME!?"
"NO SHE WANTS TO GO OUT WITH ME!?"
"NO ME!"
"NO ME!"
"NO ME!"
And just like that the ravenous fans began to brawl with one another, trading blows with one other. Allowing Adrienne a chance to get away.
"Wow, that was…not what I expected," she said to herself, looking back at the fistfight she cause as she move quietly through the hallway.
"Okey, not the best first impression but still could be worse."
But as she said she turned the corner and-"Ah!" And head-butted Marin in the face causing him to trip and sending them both to the ground. When her vision came back, she wonder how she could do something so stupid before looking down to see that Marin was now on top of her with his face buried deep between her massive breasts.
"I-I'm, I so," She tried to say but she was too flustered and red in the face to be able to finish. Marin on the other hand, blush heavily as the warmth of her body, combined with the scent of her sweat and the softness of her breasts around his head, made the poor boy shutdown like a dear in headlights as he stared at her, not sure what to do. Even so, they felt a wave of guilt (Marin was more so born out of embarrassment) as they stared awkwardly at one another.
This awkward silence lasted for what do you not like it eternity be he suddenly got up and tried running away only for Adrienne to grab him by the reach, the boy give her a fearful expression as he probably expected her to start hitting him.
"It's ok as long as you don't let it happen again and do not speak a word of this. " She said with an awkward smile, clearly still flustered but her strong desire to make a least one good friend made her desperate for any human relationship. "Anyway, what were you in such a hurry for?"
"Well, I uh, you see..uh." Main blurted out, still a little shaken up by well just about everything that was going on right now and was trying to find to perfect word, believing that he would be punched in the face otherwise. "I trying to find someone."
"Well, I'm here to un-stunt my social development, what better way than trying to help someone." She said with a smile. "Come on, let's go find your friend!"
"Well, actually we're more Acq-" But he never had a chance to finish as she had already began dragged Marin with her, the poor boy didn't know what to do or say as Adrienne was off with a boy she had just met, whose name she didn't know, trying to find someone who she didn't know. Unaware of the two orbs following them or the dark deal that was currently being made.
Ivan was fuming. Kim was the one who started this and yet he's the one getting who's getting trouble while he gets away scot-free and he hated it! Ivan thought opening the door to the Principle's office without knocking. He was greeted by the sight of Principal Damocles himself, a middle-aged man with thick black bushy eyebrows, amber eyes and a full-face beard that was grey as he idly brushed the front of his brown dress jacket.
"Excuse me, young man." He said to Ivan who just stepped in. "Hasn't anyone ever taught you to knock? Go out there and let's try this again." Ivan gritted his teeth as he balled up his fist that was still holding the note before listening and closing the door, not seeing the black butterfly land on the bits of paper that could be seen, corrupting it when a purple outline of a mask appeared on his face.
Opening his eyes he saw that he was no longer in the school Hall but instead he found himself in a large, open room. The room was shaped into a dome with numerous white butterflies fluttering around him. Rays of sunlight washed over him from behind; turning around he saw a large open window with a mosaic shaped like a butterfly. He continued to scan the room before his eye landed on a lone figure standing in the middle of the room.
A man wore a purple suit jacket and pants and leather 'wings' coming from his chest. He wore a light purple shirt which was only visible from his collar. He also wore a silver mask that gave no clue to his identity.
'Do not be alarmed Stoneheart, I am Hawk Moth, ' A soothing voice whispered in his head, the corruption working through Ivan's head and heart quite easily. ' There is no shame in being angry, you're in the right here while that boy is getting off despite instigating everything. I can give you the powers to make this right, just know that you'll owe me a favour.'
Under normal circumstances, Ivan would've been scared or frightened of this, but with the powers hypnotising him, he only grinned darkly. "Okay Hawk Moth."Hawk Moth smiled, this was way too easy. "Good. Now go my champions of destruction and enjoy your revenge."Slowly, the ball of paper started to glow and soon engulfed his whole body.
The duo of Adrienne and Marin had been aimlessly walking for what felt like several minutes as the same thought rushed through their head.
'Come on Marin, this girl has no idea where she even going must less, who we are supposed to be looking for! You should just speak up now or risk this getting more awkward than it already is.'
'Come on Adrienne, you have no idea where you even going must less, who we are supposed to be looking for! You should just speak up now or risk this getting more awkward than it already is.'
However, despite their agreed thoughts, neither one wanted to speak up out of fear that they would embarrass themselves even further than they already had. Eventually, they couldn't take it anymore they decided that enough was enough and finally spoke up.
"Hey so /You-" At the same time, causing them both to look from to the other, red in the face as Adrienne spoke up. "This is my first day and I don't know where I'm going."
"I can tell." He said though it was so quiet that if she wasn't standing right next to him Adrienne wouldn't have heard him. Realising that she did hear him, he then added. "That not to say that a bad thing! Well, it is but what I mean was that I just as bad, I mean I've been here for years and I still can't find my way around this place!"
"Thanks, I appreciate that," Adrienne said, even though she was still a little embarrassed By the whole situation, she did was she was taught to do and give Marin a charming Smile. Marin suddenly felt a massive metaphorical spike go throw his heart as he stared at her, slumping a bit as his mind begin to race with thoughts.
'What the hell was that? Why is my heart beating so fast? What happens to me?'
The two bushed for a bit, but before she had a chance to say anything else, Chloe ran up to them grab onto Marin and tossed across the hall all the while screaming "PERVERT" at the top of her lungs before turning to Adrienne and pulled her up and into a bear hug.
"OH ADRIKINS!" Chloe cried holding her tightly in her grip."Are you ok! Did he hurt you? Don't worry big sister, Chloe got you!"
"Ah…I think there has been a massive misunderstanding," Adrienne said awkwardly to her "sister" as she looked over at Marin, who looked worse for wear as Chloe continued to hug her. She was about to go over and help him when Alya Suddenly arrived and bet her to the punch.
"You ok?" Alya asked, putting her arm around Marin to try and help him up.
"Yeah," Marin replied stumbled back to his feet with Alya's help as he slowly raised his head. "Been through worse."
"Good," Alya said before turning her attention back to Adrienne and Chloe. "Because I want to know why you did that to Marin!"
"Can it, four eyes can't you see I'm comforting my little sister!" Chloe said, still hugging Adrienne who was squirming uncomfortably in the other girl's grip. "Besides, that creep got what he deserved trying to touch my ADRIKINS!"
"Then can you please stop touching me as well then?" Adrienne deadpan at her friend's words. "Besides, Marin has been nothing but perfectly polite to me."
"Please, Adrikin you mustn't be so naive," Chloe said, giving her a sympathetic look. "Men are nothing but wolves ready to take advantage of sweet girls like you."
"Oh, please, you'll be just looking for an Excuse to Cause problems!" Alya yelled, entering the conversation, not taking it today.
"Yeah Chloe, it really-" Adrienne tried to say but was interrupted by Chloe, who didn't share the same sentiment.
"Well, all I saw was my dearest Adrikins in distress and decided to come to save the day for the likes of you!" She pointed at Marin accusingly, causing him to take a step back. Marin gives Adrienne a shocked look. "Your friend with Chloe?"
"More like childhood friends that didn't see each other a lot." She whispered, hating the sound of annoyance in his question asked. But she was starting to see why now. 'Was Chloe always like this when I'm not around?'
However, before another word could be said a huge crash was heard, causing the whole building to shake. The shake caused everyone to fall to the ground and the other students begin to freak out in a panic and run.
"Whoa, what was that?" Marin said, clearly shaken by the experience as he stood up and brushed himself off, clearly now annoyed, he looked up at Adrienne. "Was an earthquake?"
The group of misfits run to the nearest window to see a barricade of cars set up just outside the front gate of her house, blocking-... Was that a rock monster?!
"Ready man." Said the chief of police was standing on top of a cop car, ordering the other cops to raise their weapons.
"And FIRE!" Before opening fire on the monster, a hulking and muscular greyish gold rock golem with glowing chartreuse eyes. The creature hunched over, groaning. For a sec, the four cops thought it worked until it would start glowing and begin to grow. The living statue now standing twice as big as before let out a primal growl of anger, causing the four coups to run away. The chief jumped off his car and ran off, as Stone Heart grabbed the van and threw it at him, missing him by inches.
"Are they Shooting a movie? What going on?" Chloe asked, watching in shock.
"I don't think this is," Adrienne said more to herself than Chloe as Stoneheart begin to throw cars and scream for Kim.
"Wait a minute, was that Ivan's voice?" Marin wondered, confused didn't begin to tell how she was feeling at that moment. It's not every day a stone behemoth who sounds like your classmate comes to terrorise the school, this realisation however only made Alya look excited.
"This is amazing, it's like he's been transformed into a real-life Supervillain!" Alya squealed in delight and excitement.
"Amazing?!" Marin looked at Alya as if she just grew an extra head. "This is bad, like really bad not amazing! At all!"
"Don't sweat it, whenever a Supervillain appears, a Superhero saves the day!" Alya said taking off with her phone out."And there is no way I'm missing this!"Marin just stared in disbelief, trying to make sense of that. This wasn't a comic book, there's no way a superhero would appear just because a 'Supervillain' was causing havoc.
"She's crazy," Marin whispered, not sure how to take the crazy turn this day has gone.
"Oh for the love of…ALYA WAIT UP!" Marin shouted, grabbing it as he chased after the girl, not wanting his new friend to be crushed under a car or something, Adrienne stood shaken by what was happing until Chloe grab her arm and try pulling her away.
"COME LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!"
"Wait we need to help them!" She said, struggling to go after them
"We not going to go risk our life for Dupain-Cheng and his lunatic girlfriend!" Chloe responded in a cold tone that made Adrienne shocked to her core. "Besides, what can we do against something like that?"
"I don't know but they need help!" She said, pulling her arm back to get herself free. "I'm not sure what I can do, but I'm going to try."
Chloe gives her a look of disapproval, the type that says "You're insane!" before the sighting, grabbing her hand and forcing her to follow her.
"Okay," Chloe said sounding slightly reluctant, almost like she was giving up."But only because it's you."
Adrienne smiled, glad to see Chloe at least willing to help if only because of friendship."Thanks."
"Alya- Huff -ya why huff is you huff so fast!" Marin wheezed, out of breath from all of this running he was doing, stopping to catch his breath. "Couldn't -Huff- what most people -Huff- did when -Huff- they see a monster- Huff- you huff so huff fast! Oh, I'm going to kill you after this!"
Remembering to investing jogging or something, an eye on Alya and places he could drag her to after he got to her. However, as he was about to continue suddenly bright light flashed in front of him as the red orb of light made its presence known.
"What is going on!"
Meanwhile a few miles away, Adrienne run as fast as she could trying to find Either Marin or Alya. While, Chloe…
"Adrikins wait up!" Chloe yelled trailing behind her, clearly having trouble keeping up with her, her hands were held up in a sign of surrender. "These heels were never meant for running."
Adrienne stopped, Turing to her friend who was leaning against a wall as she catch her breath.
"I'm sorry, but we don't have time for this right now." She said as Chloe tried to shake the exhaustion. "There are people in danger, and they need our help. Come on."
"What the point anyway we don't even know where they…" Chloe said in between breaths, Expecting some retort about helping others. However, nothing came. And looking up she saw that Adrienne was missing.
"Where you go?"
Adrienne yelled loudly as she was dragged by the black orb across the city Block before dropping her into an Alleyway.
"What the hell?"
At the same time as both orbs circled Adrienne and Marin before they took shape as well... they weren't exactly sure what they were looking at. They were small creatures (?) If that's the right words, being around 10 centimetres (or 4 inches), with large heads that seem too big for their tiny bodies and big expressive eyes. Marin's was red with two ladybug-like antennas and four black dots on each side of its head, giving a smile with big blue shining eyes. While Adrienne resembles a cat with cat ears, green cat-like eyes and a tail, along with one whisker on his forehead and one dark blue whisker on each cheek.
Upon seeing weird creatures, the two had very different reactions. For Adrienne, it was a feeling of awe and wonderment at this Alien creature before her. But for Marin on the other hand, it was the much more reasonable response.
"Oh SHIT!" He screamed, jumped backwards and quickly backed away as the small being flew towards him.
"It's a..." he paused, not knowing what it is. "Giant bug! Uh... A mouse! A bug mouse!"
"Everything's okay, don't be scared." The creature said its voice calm and almost motherly, only to dodge the projectiles Marin began to fling at it, not trusting the strange small creature. "It's a talk!"
Tikki let out a sigh. 'Let's hope that Plagg is having better luck with his holder.'
"OK, this is the weirdest dream I've ever had," Adrienne said, taking this a bit too calmly as she watched the small catlike creature."Sorry, Totes but this is no dream, I'm the bonafide reality, I'm Plagg nice to meet you."
"Well, it's Adrienne and I'll believe this isn't a dream when I don't wake up... Till then I'm just gonna go with this." She jokingly, causing a laugh to escape from the Plagg mouth. "Ah, a good sense of humour, a very important criterion for someone who going to be my holder."
"Holder? Wait, hold on I still don't know what you're doing here!" Adrienne said, causing Plagg to roll his eyes, looking at her with a bored expression.
"Short version, I'm Plagg, I'm a Kwami, I grant powers, yours is the power of destruction, with me so far?" Plagg asked as Adrienne shake her head in response."Good, because this might take a bit longer and I am starved, do you have anything to eat!"
"Listen," The creature said trying to reason with Marin, who was frantically looking for something else's to throw at her, "I know this may seem strange but-"
"SOMEBODY PLEASE HE-" Tikki then flew into Marin's face, covering his mouth with her tiny hands."No, no, no, I'm your friend Marin! Marin yelped, back up as he realised she could've escaped at any time."You must trust me! You're the only one who can stop Stone Heart!"
"Wait! Do you mean the creature Ivan became? Y-You're joking right!?" He said, panicking. "I can't do that! I could barely talk to people without muttering a sorry every five seconds! I can't fight a monster!"
Sensing what he was thinking, Tikki then begin to glow a bright pinkish-red light before summoning down a box. Gesturing him to open it, he did so and saw a set of black earrings sitting inside.
"These are a Miraculous of the ladybug, and as a Kwamis, I can give powers and yours is the power of creation."
"Tch, the only power I have is super awkwardness," Marin didn't even hesitate to put himself down like that. "Look uh "Tikki" is it? But you have the wrong person here. Now if you want someone to be a superhero then go see Alya, I'm sure she'll-."
"Look I know that I'm throwing you into the deep end on this one," Tikki said, cutting him off. "If you wish to renowned your Powers then you can, but first you need to help fight Stone Heart or a lot of people are going to get hurt or worse."
"Am I the only one? Can this help me save Alya? And if so how? I don't think I have the power to de-evil supervillain! Right?" That is followed by a star of Tikki for saying such a stupid name. "Your stare is both adorable and terrifying at the same time tiny creature."
"Place the earrings on and say Spots On." She then handed them to him. "Then you will transform and gain a super suit specifically tailored to you. Not only will you be super strong and fast, but your stamina and endurance increase as well."
"Anything else?" He asked, giving them a once over, finding it hard to believe that these Little pieces of jewellery can do that.
"You shall also be granted a special weapon, which will allow you to use the Lucky Charm ability."
"Lucky what?"
"It's your secret superpower." Tikki elaborated further."It can create any object that you need to win."
"This sounds like something out of a cheesy magical girl anime..." He said, rolling his eyes. "Anything else I need to know about?"
"You need to find what object the Akuma is hiding in and destroy it."
"Why did I have a feeling there is a but?" He interjected.
"Firstly, once you use your power there is a 5-minute time limit, though that's mostly for your protection since you're still growing. " She explained as Marin began to put on the earring. Thankfully, they clip-on so he didn't have to worry about his ears being pierced but still, he's so going to smack Alya, so stupid. "Also remember to capture the butterfly and cleanse it otherwise things get ... messy."
"Okay so basically all I have to break is the object where the thingy is hiding in and captured?"
"The Akuma." Tikki clarified for him. "And only the user of the cat miraculous can destroy an object and you need to work together to use the Miraculous power to restore anything."
"The user of the cat miraculous?" He asked, surprised by the fact that there were more of them.
"The welder of the power of destruction and your chosen partner." She explained before letting out a sign. "She's in the same camp as you and knowing Plagg she's probably just as bullhead as he is, so please reel her in when she gets out of line."
"Okay, so I need to work with them got it, any tips to help keep them on the blue line?" He asked, hoping he wasn't just thrown under the bus.
"Smack them across the head when they get out of line," she joked, well Marin hoped it was a joke. "Just trust yourself and say Spots On."
"Already then…" He said, letting out a long sigh he didn't know he had in him before saying. "Spots on! Did I do-"
He was cut off as the earrings along with Tikki began to glow, turning into a bright red beam of light that swirled around his body.
"Tikki! What's happened!" Marin cried out as felt like a nest of insects began to crawl up her feet, continuing up to his legs and his chest, eating away at any material that it comes into contact with. This continued until the bugs came to his face before blanketing the room in light.
"Tikki, what did you do?"Marin said feeling a bit woozy after the light diminished, Leaning against a glass window, trying steady himself only to gasp in surprise as he caught sight of his own reflection on its surface. Marin was now wearing a black skin-tight bodysuit suit with a collar, covered in red running along his elbows, shoulders, knees and neck were covered in black spots on it, which made him look like a human ladybug.
"What in the world?!" Marin screamed, placing both hands on his face, which covered his face was a red-eye mask with five black spots only to grimace as his ears hurt. "Huh? I thought these were clip-on, nobody said anything about my ears being pierced!"
How will he explain that to his parents?! And this suit left so little to the imagination that it was embarrassing for him to stand in it.
"Uh Tikki? Hello? Come on, this isn't funny." Marin said spinning around, looking for a button, a zipper, a switch, anything to get this stupid costume off!
'Apologies Marin, ' Marin suddenly jumped back at the sound of Tikki's voice coming from nowhere. 'it's your first time so Syncing up will take some time to get used.'
"You're in my head?!" Marin shouted, flustered, that was weird, even for him this was weird. 'For long as you are transformed, we are concerned.'Tikki added, 'but you get used to it after that.'
"So this...is permanent?" Marin asked, growing more and more nervous, even from looking at himself now, he was pretty sure he won't be passing this off as cosplaying.
'Don't worry Marin, it's not permanent, only while you are wearing the earring.' Tikki explained, 'the transformation part of it ends once you remove the earring.'
"Oh okay then!" Marin said, his heart calming down, relieved by that fact.
'Just remember, it's only for a short time, so live in the moment. You need to find your partner then go after Stoneheart and stop him.' She explain simply as Marin took a deep breath, trying to psych himself up.
"Okay you can do this, you have powers, you were chosen…and I'm going to die aren't I." Feeling a weight on his hip, Marin glanced down to see his Legendary weapon: a red freaking yo-yo.
"Seriously? This my so-called weapon."With a shrug, Marin flung it towards the nearby building, a bit surprised by how far it went before it got caught on something.
"On come on," Marin whispered, not expecting that, giving a tug to make sure that it was secure, thinking he had to swing across. What he wasn't expecting was for the yo-yo to act as a grappling hook and send him flying with a scream of terror, launching him past where the string was caught.
"So, you're saying that with this I can transform into a superhero?" Adrienne asked, looking down at the silver ring Kwami had given her, looking excited at the prospect of finally having freedom. Her wish was to be a different person. If this thing did give her powers, then she could have the power to be who she wanted to be. She had been given an explanation for stopping Stoneheart, or rather the super abridged version so she know what to do.
"Pretty much," he said lazing about. "To activate your powers you need to say Claws Out and you'll-"
"Okay, Claws Out!" She shouted with excitement as Plagg's eyes widened in surprise.
"W-Wait I still need to explain-." He was cut off as he was sucked into the ring and in a flash of light, her attire changed. Feeling curious, she moved towards the nearest thing with a reflection, gasping in awe at seeing her new appearance.
"I look awesome!" She said letting out a high-pitched squeal of excitement as began to explore her new appearance. Her normal clothes wear gone, replace by a skin-tight black leather leotard with metallic trim, black elbow-length gloves and thigh-high black boots. It also got a thin black belt wrapped around her waist that hangs behind her like a cat tail. Her hair well-combed hair was now styled in bushy pigtails with parted side bangs on the right side of her heart-shaped face which was concealed behind a black domino mask that sats between her like a cat nose and emerald eyes, which had now cat-like and bright green, with the whites of her eyes a paler green colour and a pair of black leather cat ears on her head that twitched much to her surprise as if they were real.
"Too awesome!" Adrienne cheered with a wild grin, showing off her newly sharpened canines. This is amazing! She was amazing! This suit was amazing! Thou, this costume does hug her curves a bit too much for comfort and this zipper, (which had a cute little cat bell attached to it) was pulled dangerously far down, emphasising her impressive chest. But still, Adrienne wasn't too embarrassed by the thought of wearing tight clothes after she had worn tight clothes in the past as a model.
"What's this?" Adrienne mused, she noticed a small metal baton holstered to her lower back, so she pulled it out.
"Is this the weapon Plagg was talking about?"She wondered about its purpose, examining it as if it was a weapon of some kind.
"It's a bit small-."She stopped when it extended into a full staff which made her grin bigger. "Oh this is pretty cool-"
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW RUDE IT IS TO INTRUDE ON SOMEONE!" Plagg yelled, causing her to jump back at the sudden screaming in her head.
"Hey! Sorry I just got excited." She apologised, earning a huff from Plagg. 'Let's just do this as quickly as possible, so we can go get some food.'
Adrienne rolled her eyes before looking at her staff up as it shrunk, placing it under her as she Springs boarded herself into the air and give a meter across town before easily landing on a roof. "That was amazing!"
'Okey, now it's time to find my partner that Plagg spoke of, but where to begin? He could be anywhere in wor-' Her thoughts were cut off when she heard a shrill sound that steadily grows louder and louder, Adrienne never got the chance to finish that thought as a red blur known as Marin collided with her, knocking her off her roof, causing them both to hurtle towards the street. Luckily, for them, both her pole got snagged on Marin's yo-yo breaking their falls. Unfortunately, they both got tied up in her strings, causing both of them to swing back and forth as they dangled a foot off the ground. Adrienne let out a groan, ready to give this clumsy flier a piece of her mind before pausing when she got a good look at him and decided this must be her partner.
Who else would dress up like this besides herself? And he's kinda cute too? Wait. Why did she think that?
"Note to self, never do that again," Marin muttered a bit dizzy after being thrown across the city. But hey, at least he landed on something soft. Like really soft? And warm? And squishy?
'Wait.' Marin's eyes suddenly came back to life and found himself staring at the girl who was taller than him with him only coming up to her chin, though his vision was being blocked by two mounds around him.
"Well hey there," she said, smirking a devilish smirk. "Nice of you to drop by." she snickered at her pun. Marin, however, did not turn a red that would match his suit as he had finally realised that he was not alone and that his head was being supported by her.
Between her…
Her...
He took it quite well.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH?!" He screamed pulling away from her causing it to come undone and leaving both to fall ." I'm so sorry! I swear I didn't do it on purpose."
"No, worries, you're not the first to pet this kitty?"Adrienne laughed, easily freeing herself, and landing on her feet. "I bet you're the partner my Kwami told me about?" She asks dusting herself off before smirking excitedly at Marin.
"I'm-,"
'You're not supposed to give out your name.' Plagg interrupted reminding her about the hidden identities as she thought about it for a moment.
"Chatte Noire…" She thoughtfully gained a grin before striking a pose with the wind at her back and putting as much confidence as she could muster into her voice. "I am the hero of justice, the emissary of destruction, Chatte Noire!"
……………….
……………….
……………….
……………….
……………….
A long as fuck silence washed over the two as a single thought echoed throughout everyone's mind. 'Are you seriously doing this?'
Well, exact one.
'That was so cool!' She thought, wanting to do that since she was a little girl. "So partner," She then said to Marin, who was trying to free yo-yo without getting sent into the air again."And you?"
"I'm-er-" Marin started before his yoyo broke free and both dropped on top of Marin's head, "...Madly clumsy. I'm so clumsy. Sorry about that..."
Seeing how he was acting was enough for the newly named Chatte Noire to let out a giggle as catch her now shortened staff."Don't worry Clumsy Boy, I'm learning the ropes too."
Suddenly, the ground beneath them rumbled as a nearby tall building came crumbling to the ground, leaving both heroes to stare in fear, wondering how many people got killed there because that was terrifying to see.
Only for Chatte Noire to run towards it, using her staff to extend and vault up to the rooftops.
"W-Wait, where are you going?!" He called out, shocked that this girl was willingly heading towards the danger instead of away from it.
"To save Paris, right? Come on partner!" Chatte asked with a grin, disappearing as she jumped to the next building, leaving Marin by himself.
'What is she doing!' Marin thought, 'Is she going to run in there without any plan? She going to get killed! And...' Looking down at the yo-yo in his hands, Marin's grip tightened as he began spinning the yo-yo.
"I'm going to regret this?" He said before letting it fly and this time he was ready for it to reel him in."I'm coming, partner!"
Meanwhile, at the Stadium, many of the students were cleaning up after their Gym Class while Kim grabbed his bag, ready to go before the whole place shook as a voice roared.
" KIM! " Turning towards the voice, Kim paled as he saw Stoneheart standing on top of the stadium, glaring hatefully at him.
"It's time to settle the score!" The stone giant said before jumping off from the top of the stadium to its field, the impact of such a landing causing the ground to shake and break apart as dust covered the area. When the dust cleared Kim paled as the imposing form of StoneHeart stood in front of him, the sight of which causes Kim to fall back in terror. "So, who's the wuss now?!"
"Ivan?" Kim asks the stone goliath, to which he responded with a loud roaring sound as he began to shake his fist at him, before breaking into a laugh.
"Not anymore! I'm StoneHeart now, "He roars in his face. "And I'm here to clobber you!"
StoneHeart raised his fists ready to bring them down on him. But just before he can, a metal pole stabbed the ground between them.
"Hey!" Chatte Noire yelled out, sliding down her staff like a fireman pole before jumping into the air and landing in between them, twirling holding the now her shortened staff in hand.
"It's not nice to pick on people smaller than you." Chatte Noire pointed out, she extended her baton, blocking Stoneheart from Kim, who saw this as an opportunity to escape. The masked heroine then use her staff and attacked, however, the attack was ineffective as Stoneheart exhausted the below, causing him to grow bigger.
"I guess you're talking about yourself."Stoneheart assumed, before lunging at the masked girl. Luckily she was quicker than him and jumped out of his attack.
"Miss me." She taunted further, doing a roll to dodge swipe, followed by a backflip as Stoneheart tried to squash her."Miss me again."
Admittedly she was showing off a bit, but she is lying if she said that she wasn't loving every second of this. Never had she felt so free in her life! Have these powers. It really was like something out of those old superhero cartoons and anime she saw growing up. It's amazing! But unannounced to her, the true villain behind this whole thing was watching her.
'Everything is going according to plan.'Hawk Moth thought grinning maliciously, watching the whole thing through Stoneheart's eyes. He just knew creating a Super Villain would draw the wielders of the Ladybug and Black Cat. After all, the hero would be drawn to this "super type" stuff and always show up whenever something goes wrong, now all that's left is for his Super Villain to destroy them and the power to change fate will be his at last.
"Stoneheart the has come," Hawk Moth said as a pink butterfly outline appeared in front of Stoneheart's face."Seize her Miraculous! And I'll Grant you your revenge!"
"It will be done, Boss," Stoneheart Said charging at her with a roar. Chatte attempted a Counter-attack but was caught off Guard by Stoneheart's surprisingly fast speed which sent her flying. However, she was able to use her staff to recover, sticking it into the ground and slowing her speed right down.
"Okey, so not as slow as I thought a statue to be." She said to herself, nursing her bruised cheek.'Yeah, the Akuma can range from anywhere on the power scale so it's best you don't underestimate him.'
'Tell me about it, my idea of hitting him with my magic staff until he stops being probable didn't really work.'Chatte Noire thought, jumping back as another fist slammed into where she was, shaking on the ground even more. 'How can I fight something that I can grow stronger with every hit.'
'Not very well I'll tell you that much.' Plagg answered. 'You will need to trap or restrain him then take his Akuma away.'
"Hey, big guy! So, do you mind telling a gal who you're talking to back there? Because it certainly isn't me?"Chatte Noire asks dodging and weaving around the Akumatized villain attacks.
"None of your concern," he snarled, charging at her once more, only for her to dodge it by jumping into the air and landing on his arm.
"Well if you're not going to tell me," Chatte Noire said as she ran up Stoneheart's arm."I guess that I have to, BEAT IT OUT OF YOU!" Before slamming her staff into his face causing him to fall over.
"And that's how you do it," Chatte Noire said smugly, doing another flip to land a few feet away. Unfortunately, for her, he didn't stay down for long.
"I'm not done with you yet." He said, his body now glowing as he began to grow twice as big and strong as before thanks to her hit.
'I don't think I will be able to keep this up for much longer.' She thought narrowly missed the stone beast attacks."Where are you, partner?"
"Oh, man, oh man, oh, man," Marin whispered, freaking out, standing on top of the stadium. 'What am I doing? I've never thrown a punch before in my life and now I have to go up against that?! How is Chatte Noire not freaking out?!'
'Marin, you need to help Chatte now!' Tikki begged as they watched the fight happening below.
"So you want to keep going or do you need a halftime break?" Stoneheart said, ripping out a soccer goal and throwing it at Chatte Noire, who dodged it with ease only for it to fly towards a certain hero fanatic who was crouching down at the stadium entrance, recording the fight. Seeing that she was about to be hit, Chatte Noire threw her staff which extended to cover above Alya, protecting her from the goal, but the distraction allowed Stoneheart to grab her.
'I can't I just can't!!' Marin thought, standing widening-eyed in shock, Chatte Noire struggling as Stoneheart began to apply some pressure.''I knew this would happen. I knew I would be nothing but a hindrance.' Marin thought, eyes tearing up as watched on in despair. 'Look at me, I really am as pathetic as Chloe said.' He was ready to give up………Until. "What are you waiting for?!" Marin's head snapped to the side where he saw Alya looking at him. "The world is watching you!"
Taking a step back, Marin turned from Alya to Stoneheart, who continued to squeeze Chatte Noire who gave a cry showing that it was getting worse and before Marin knew it he was moving.
'W-What am I doing?!' Marin thought leaping into action, 'I came here to fight against the bad guys, not hide from them!'
With that, he made his decision.
Throwing the yo-yo, Marin slid underneath Stoneheart at incredible speed who gave him a confused glance, seeing Marin fly under him and glided in front of him, breaking into a dramatic pose as he forced a smirk on his face to remain calm. And with a single tug on his yo-yo, the stone goliath fell to the floor, letting Chatte Noire free.
"Animal cruelty? How low can you go?" Marin taunted, his voice carrying an air of confidence that he didn't have before. "Sorry for the wait, Chatte Noire."
"Just as long as you showed." Chatte Noire said, rolling her shoulders with some slight discomfort."Now let's take this guy!"
"Do you have a plan?" Chatte Noire asked, quickly freeing her tail, watching as Marin bit his lip trying to think, but he shrugged. "Don't sweat it, how about we use our powers?"
"Cataclysm!" Chatte Noire said grinding as a surge of dark energy formed around her hand. "Apparently I can destroy whatever I touch."
"I don't even need a superpower for that," Marin muttered, Chatte Noire giving him a curious look before she tried it on the goal post much to Marin's shock.
"What are you doing?!"
But it was too late. The net slowly started to rot, the whole thing turning black and breaking into pieces as it disintegrated into nothingness.
"Whoa cool!" She turned her attention to Stone Heart. "Alright, it's just you and me, Soon-to-be ruble!"
"No, wait!" Ignoring Marin, Chatte Noire jumped into the air slamming her hand down on Stoneheart's foot, only to find it did nothing. Blink awkwardly, Chatte raising her hand to try again. Again and again, very aware of how Stoneheart was giving her a deadpanned look.
"Oh… I guess my Cataclysm was only for one use." Marin looked away as Chatte Noire was kicked back his way, sliding past the ladybug-themed hero.
"Great, now you have five minutes before you change back!" Marin exclaimed much to Chatte Noire's shock. "Didn't your Kwami explain that?!"
"I WAS KINDA BUSY WITH THE MASSIVE MONSTER!" She yelled back, getting back to her feet. "BESIDES WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I WAS FIGHTING HIM ALONE!"
"WELL EXCUSE ME, PRINCESS!" Marin snapped. "I was trying to figure out how my powers actually worked instead of just jumping dickfirst into danger!"
"Oh, well, that makes me feel better." Chatte Noire mumbled, throwing her staff up before catching it and staring at him in anger. "If you're just going to yell at me then you can jus-"
But before she had time to finish, Stoneheart suddenly appeared behind them, grabbing them by the heads and pushing them down to the ground, causing them to break in the force. The heroes had barely any time to react as Stoneheart then dragged their faces across the pitch before throwing them into a wall.
"Okay, I think we need to work together," Chatte admitted, pulling herself off the rubble, and helping Marin to his feet. "So, any ideas, smart guy?"
'Well, I guess it's up to me then.' Marin thought letting out a sigh as he gripped his yo-yo and threw it up into the air. "Lucky Charm!" The yo-yo spun as it coursed with the same pink colour ladybug he covered in when he transformed. Once done, the ladybug disappeared revealing the object that would be their salvation...A red jumpsuit with black polka-dotted?
"Uh?" Chatte Noire wasn't sure what she was looking at. "No offence but why did you create this?" She asks, not sure how it would help.
"It's supposed to create whatever we need to win. Sooooo, yeah. I hate everything about this day."Marin admitted, now frantic considering that they were both on a time limit. "But still, we need to get the object that the Akuma is hiding in and break it."
"But he's made entirely out of stone." Chatte Noire pointed out, getting into a stance as Stoneheart began to stomp towards them.
"His right hand," Marin whispered before grinning at Chatte Noire. "He's been keeping his right hand closed this entire time! It's like a Yackyackenstan doll! The object isn't on him, it's hidden in his fist! If the Akuma is anywhere, it has to be there!"
"Wait really?" Chatte Noire looked and realised Marin was right, thinking back on it, she's never seen Stoneheart open that hand during their little scuffle.
Huh, that's some impressive observation there.
"So what's the plan?" Glancing at Marin who was looking around, Chatte Noire could actually see the gears turning in his head as he looked around from StoneHearts fist then at Alya, who was still filming as she was crouching nearby a water tap with the hose that was unrolled right below them oddly enough, his face brightening up.
"With this." He said kicking the hose up and tying it to the suit, much to Chatte Noire's confusion. "Uh, you'll have to trust me."
"With what-?" Chatte Noire was cut off when Marin used his yo-yo to tie her legs up and before being able to let out another word, spun her around and literally tossed her at Stoneheart with all of his newly found strength.
"THIS BOY IS CRAZY! " Chatte Noire shouted as she shot like a missile at Stoneheart. Stoneheart upon seeing the feline heroine come at him grabbed her, not noticing he has now occupied his only free hand.
"Catch me if you can!" Marin exclaimed, running at Stoneheart, suit and hose in hand. Smirking as StoneHeart catches him, dropping the item where the Akuma was in the process. "Great, now we're both captured."
"That's what you think?" Marin grinned, confusing Chatte Noire. "ALYA! THE TAP!"
Giving a stare at how the masked hero knew her name, Alya listened and turned the tap water on as it went through the hose. Chatte Noire understood immediately when the suit began to inflate with water inside of Stoneheart's fist, forcing him to let Marin go as he ran towards the object that Stoneheart dropped. Seeing that, Stoneheart ran after Marin only for the boy to throw his yo-yo, grabbing into it and throwing it to Chatte, who instinctively knew what to do, breaking her arms free and slashing at the object, breaking it as the Akuma flew off. Without the Akuma, Stoneheart disappeared, turning back into Ivan who dropped Chatte Noire, who landed on her feet, surprised by what just happened, turning from the dazed Ivan to Marin.
"THE AKUMA!" She called out as it began to fly off.
"Not on my watch," He said to himself as the Akuma flew towards the sky for a moment. Not wasting any time, he got to work. Jumping as high as he could before tossing his yo-yo towards the Akuma.
"Let's finish this!" He yelled, shooting his shot. Thankfully the line reached and trapped it before it could get away as he came back down to the ground.
"Bye-bye, little butterfly." He said as his yo-yo opened and a white butterfly flew away. Marin couldn't help but smile. It worked! He thought, honestly surprised that the plan that he had made up on the fly worked. It honestly shouldn't have but somehow he-no they really did it. Watching the whole time, Chatte couldn't help but look in amazement. This guy just came up with that plan out of nowhere, with only an inflatable suit and whatever was around.
That was-... Whoa.
"This guy really is crazy!" Chat Noir said to herself, wide-eyed and impressed as her heart thumped in her chest. "He's crazy awesome!"
'Yep, Tikki's users usually are.' Plagg stated. 'Crazy Lunatics, a lot of them.'
As if in agreement, Chatte Noire grinned down at Ivan, who was coming too.
"Huh?" Ivan groaned as he looked around. "What's going on? What am I doing here?"
The last thing he remembered was being outside of the Principal's Office, so how did he end up at the now broken soccer field?
"Let's just say you had a pretty bad day," Marin said before picking up the object that turned out to be a piece of crumpled-up paper unrolling the note and reading it out loud.
'You know if weren't such a wuss you might be able to tell Mylene you love her.' Seeing him read it, Ivan looked away.
"Kim wrote it, he's always making fun of me." He said before Marin smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"There's no reason to get mad, so what if he thinks like that Ivan, there's no shame in liking someone."That made the formerly akumatized teen give Marin a weird look. "How do you know my name?"
Marin was surprised that no one guessed it given how the mask didn't really conceal that much. Maybe there was a magic reason for that? He'll ask Tikki when he can."Well, you see...Hey, Cat I almost forgot we have to do something!"
"Do what?" She asked, confused.
"You know the thing." He said as she let out an "ooooh" as she remembered what the Kwamis explained to them. "So, how do we do this?"
"I think we do this," he handed her one end of the suit. "Together."Before throwing the suit up in the air, saying the words that would activate a certain power of this particular ability.
"MIRACULOUS REDO!"
Immediately the item broke into a storm of phantom cats and a swarm of tiny insects covered… everything. People, objects, and anything in its path. The average person would be horrified at the wave. It would have been a sign of the apocalypse. However… It was the opposite of that. It felt peaceful, like a quelling everyone in their calming light as they flew around Paris. The cats ate away the debris as the ladybugs fixed all of the damage from Stoneheart and the fight was being repaired, they even saw the building that went down back up as if nothing happened.
"Whoa," Chatte Noire wasn't expecting something like this as she helped Ivan walk towards them, the teen looking saddened by everything that happened despite not remembering much of it. "Are you seeing this?"
"Y-Yeah," Marin said in awe as Tikki never said this was what would happen, it was really something else. "it's amazing, it's-"
"It's simply miraculous ." They said at the same time before turning to look at each other, Chatte Noire giggled looking at Beetle with a smile as she finally understood why she felt so attached to him. "You sure are."
"Huh?" He asked, not expecting a compliment but after a long day, he felt like he deserved it. Unaware of the true meaning behind it. After all, he was just winging this as he was going along, not expecting any of that to work at all. Chatte Noire smiled back at him before holding up a fist.
"Pound it?" She asked, seeing something like this on an old cartoon and after a second, Marin complied with a fist bump.
"Pound it."A beeping brought their attention back to the fact they were running out of time. "You should go, our identities should remain a secret."
With a smile, Chatte Noire gave a rather dramatic bow.
"Very well my bug boy, let's do this again soon okay?" She asked, taking off, using her staff to extend herself out of there. Making a face at the 'bug boy' nickname realises he never did give her a 'hero' name.
"Uncanny, amazing, utterly spectacular!" Alya said recording the interaction, reminding Marin that she was there. "Are you going to be protecting Paris from now on? How did you get your powers? Did you get stung by a radioactive Ladybug?! Oh, I have a ton of questions, Mister-uh…"
Looking for an escape as his earring beeped, reminding him of the time limit."Gotta go! Bye!"
"Wait! I haven't gotten your name!"
"Don't get one!"He yelled before taking off running leaving Alya seemed to be at a loss. Sure, she was going to upload the video as soon as she gets home. But that's not the issue. No, what the issue is was his name!
She got the catgirl but what to call him? Ladybug was an obvious choice. And that would be fine if he was a girl but he wasn't. So what to call him? Ladbug, no that's dumb. Bugboy? Even dumber? Guysect? No that's not right. Overbug? No, that doesn't fit well. Bugman? Lame. Scarlet Bug? Corny. Insect Warrior? Cartoony.
"How about-"
"So, why did you have to sneak into your own house?" Plagg asked as Adrienne jumped over the back garden wall.
"Because I didn't want to face my dad right now." She said with the Sneered and Plagg just shook his head as he followed.
"Find by me, I don't wanna part in anyone's family drama," Plagg said, watching her climb the wall, careful in navigating herself on the tiny ledge as she made her way to her roo's window, which was open for her inevitable return. Her room was what every kid her age could ever want, having a total area nearly twice the size of most apartments. The room is separated into two levels, connected by a white spiral staircase. The second level has a walkway which is bordered by a glass-like bannister. The room's back wall is complete with various fencing trophies. Three fencing banners are also visible — green, purple, and red. The larger, green one is pinned above er king-sized bed. A rock-climbing wall situated on the second story, next to her literal library of manga and DVDs, and her basketball court. An arcade station, featuring two arcade consoles and a dance pad.
As she entered her room, she saw her father standing right in the centre, giving her an annoyed expression.
"Sit," he said simply as she reluctantly did so. "Not only did you go out despite my wish, but you also didn't even come home when an actual crisis happened."
"Daddy, I got stuck in the situation and had to help some friends while it happened. When you were my age didn't you back from your friends no matter the situation?" She said, her bit more humble from the near death but also more pleading. " Hell if they did not have my back I'm not sure I'd be fine, I need to live my life and not be some doll stuck here."
"People are cruel and stupid," he said simply. "In this world, they'll only care about what they can gain from you."
"Even so I need to make mistakes and live my life daddy, if I stay cooped up like some caged bird well... You won't be around to protect me forever. I need to learn to stand on my own or I will be knocked down by the world the moment I become an adult."She said smiling sadly. "I know you want to protect me but I'm a lot stronger than you seem to think I am."
There was a long pause as Gabriel didn't say or do anything. Adrienne fearing that she had said something that upset him went to try to add something only for him to suddenly speak a simple one word.
"Okay."
"What?" She asked surprising her as he suddenly clarified.
"While yes, I would love more than nothing for you to stay here, however, we both know you would only continue this rebellious behaviour. So, a compromise must be met."Gabriel continued, surprising her as she slowly smiled as realised what he meant. "From now on you will go to school, with a bodyguard, he will pick you up and drop you off, every day from now on."
Adrienne let out a squeal, jumping out of her seat and hugging her father. "Thank you so much, dad."
"However they are some conditions." He said, placing his palm on her forehead, and looking her in the eyes. "You will continue to keep up your Grades, along with your Career as a model if your new relationship Interferes with your Development then it shall be terminated."
She nodded for a moment as she spoke. "Yes sir." She know she was unable to say no, this deal was as good as it gets.
"Nathalie will organise a new schedule," Gabriel added getting up from where he was sitting. "Also, one last thing: when another attack like today happens again you are to stay far away from them."
Just nod in response as he left the room without another word.
"Wow, talk about intense right?" Plagg said popping out of her pocket. "I thought he was about to blow his load any second you know?"
"Phrasing, Plagg." She said, disgusted and letting out a light chuckle. "He may be intense, but he's my daddy and wants the best for me. Though a bit, okay a lot paranoid. Still, he works a high-class job and this city was just attacked by a monster, what father would not be overprotective?"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, mushy, gushy stuff," Plagg said, pretending to vomit as he flew around the room, examining as a cat would.
"Ooh, swanky room."Plagg landed on a nearby foosball table and bit the head of one of the players only to gag.
"Hey don't touch that!" Adrienne said finally intervened, trying to grab him but Plagg flew off before she could. "Get back here."
"Everything is so shiny, can you eat this?" Plagg bit one of the game consoles before gagging. "No, you can't."
"Hey, not my fault. I haven't had anything to eat since I got here."
"Fine, I'll get you something to eat. Just please, don't touch anything while I'm gone."
Elsewhere around the same time, Marin had entered his room after explaining to his parents where he was (and prying his mother off of him). Tikki exited out of his pocket and began to look around his room.
Marin's room is like describing Marin himself as messy but surprisingly put together.
Mostly a normal room in size, with the colour grey, red and black and this air of organised chaos with clothes new and old scattered around the room. Her eyes move over to his desk, which had a few unfinished projects he wanted to work on with different scarves, hats and jackets along with a notebook filled with countless designs.
Just about it, a pinboard covered in pages ripped out of various Fashion magazines, most of which were of the Gabriel brand.
She could also see some old stuff like a picture with Mari wearing soccer clothes and another with him wearing a chef's hat and apron next to his dad, and a medal from a parkour competition.
Honestly, despite its messy, it was quite nice and homey. However, she was cut short by a loud muffled yelled came from Marin as he came crashing down onto his bed as screamed into the pillow.
"So everything already?"
"No, because now that I have time to process everything, I now realise that the safety of the city depends on me and a catgirl!"
"And that's a bad thing?" Tikki asked, raising an eyebrow at her partner.
"Of course it is! I mean god, I can't believe I actually tricked myself into thinking I could actually do this! I mean look at me?! I'm just some kid, who can't even stand up to a bunch of bullies and now I have to save everyone's life! Oh god, I'm so screwed!"
"So what? Spend your time training to become the best you can be." She said as she snuggled up next to him on the bed. "Don't worry, about what could have happened and just focus on the task at hand."
"Yeah, well easier said than done." Marin groaned, rolling over onto his side and burying his head into the covers. "Tikki, I don't know what I'm going to do!"
"Well, if you don't want to be a hero then you have every right to give up." She said softly, "But please understand that what happened today was just the beginning and more will get hurt, but I will not deprive you of your life: it was your choice."
"That's the thing! What if I make the wrong choice and it causes people to get hurt!?" He said beginning to panic as beginning thought of all the ways he could fail.
"So what? Spend your time training to become the best you can be." She said as she snuggled up next to him on the bed. "Don't worry, nothing bad will happen. Just focus on the task at hand."
"Yeah, well easier said than done," Marin yelled sitting up now. "Tikki, I don't know what I'm going to do!"
"Well, if you don't want to be a hero then you have every right to give up." She said softly, "But please understand that what happened today was just the beginning and more will get hurt, but I will not deprive you of your life: it was your choice."
Marin looked up at her in shock, as if he never expect those words to come from her. Was giving up really an option? He thought about it. While the idea of fighting a monster and saving the city was terrifying to him, and yet deep down in his core he knew that was it something he had to do. Even if it meant his life would be on the line.
"I…I…think I'll try being a hero, well, at least until things are back to normal."
"Good, I'm glad to see you willing to stand on your own feet." She said, reaching out and caressing his face. "Now, if you are feeling overwhelmed, then I'm more than happy to help. I know that you're scared, but I will be able to back you up if you need me."
"Thank you, Tikki. You don't know how much that means to me." Marin said, with significant relief. "So what now?"
"Take some time off. Then we'll train together." She said, kissing his partner on his forehead. "I promise you I won't let anything happen to you."
"You're kidding," Adrienne said with a disgusted look on her face, watching Plagg eat. "Camembert Cheese, the magic talking fairy cat only Camembert, which means I'll smell like stinky old cheese."
Looking from Plagg back towards the news, showing the footage that Alya took with both him and her stopping Stoneheart.
"So thanks to this amateur footage, the Parisians now know the identities of their heroes!" She shows their names as the Scarlet Beetle and Chatte Noire.
"Scarlett Beetle," Adrienne whispered, finally having a name for her partner as the news spoke of their victory against Stoneheart."My new life is so exciting now!"
"Glad, it makes you happy," Plagg asked, having just finished his Camembert cheese. "But remember you have some fun being a hero, but you'll still need to take your duty seriously and you should not abuse his powers. Got it?"
"Sorry," She apologized, embarrassed, "I'm not used to enjoying myself. This is all new to me, school and making friends. It's like all my dreams are coming true."
"Well, it's important to not see this as a game. You are a hero and your first duty is to protect the city." Plagg said with a bored tone. "But when you are not on duty, then you should be able to have fun but make sure to also keep your mind open to new ideas and not be afraid to try something new. Your life should be full of fun, exploration and adventure. So take this opportunity and embrace it."
Adrienne smiled at the black cat, nodding her head. "You're right, my life has never been this fun. So what's next?"
"Well, first we should rest. Being a hero is tiring, so go to bed and then we'll go train." Plagg said, stretching out on the bed. "Then you can go meet your friends."
"That's a good idea," Adrienne said with a smile as she sat next to him and began to strike him. "And I'm glad that you get to be one of my new friends."
"You're welcome," Plagg said, spending the rest of his day napping.
"I'm sorry that your plan didn't go as planned," Nooroo the kwami of Transmissionsaid submissively, a light purple, a butterfly-like creature who is 10 centimetres tall. He has butterfly wings that have a long tail with a tip at the end of each lower wing and dark purple eyes. In truth, he wasn't all that sorry as he had hoped that his master would give up on his dark quest, however, the look in his eyes told him that such an event was unlikely.
"Oh? You are mistaken, this is not a failure but don't you understand this is a learning experience." He said with his usual dark and cold tone. "Now I know that not only that the miraculous that I seek are not only here but that they are all in the hands of children. My first Akuma was just a test run to see the extent of my and their powers, I promise that my next villain will be a lot more difficult for them to beat."
He smiled a twisted smile as he looked out from his lair, feeling all the negative emotions in the area. He could easily make another villain right now, but he had other things he needed to do. Also, why rush them? One needs to be patient in order to win The Long Game and Gabriel Agreste never loses.
"Then we'll see how long you will remain hidden, Scarlet Beetle and Chatte Noire as of today, nothing will prevent me from getting your Miraculous, and making my greatest wish come true! All I need to do now is wait for my next prey."
After all, it was all for love…
Thought I was dead didn't you? Welcome back to the show that keeps on giving. Hopefully, the change were much more enough for everyone as I pretty much changed the entire structure of the first two episodes, so hopefully it's enough to satisfy my cravings. I've pretty much been spending the entire year watching Rewrite and fixing videos, so I definitely have some ideas for how I want to go about this.
For example, Mairn more snarky than his female counterpart and is much more defeatist. Adrienne will stay the same thought her flirting will be more explicit than her male counterpart.
Also I hope to make Gabriel a lot more compelling villain then what he is on the show. Along with everyone favourite mean girl, Chloe who is definitely going to be more of a threatening rival for Marin.
Fun fact: Originally, Alix was supposed to be in a trio with Chloe and Sabrina, which was a reference to the trio Sam, Clover, and Alex from Totally Spies. I decided that to make her part of team mean girls because I feel like that's much more interesting also it allows Alix appear much more often.
I also rebalanced the power and give Chatte much more important in the story.
Other than that I've also given most of the characters redesigns, some subtle, some not. Link to Artists that inspired this changes:

Now you may be asking why am I doing this? Why go so far as to re-write something you already make? Well for one: I do like taking things I make in the past and building on them and two: I just like this universe and I want to play in the world Thomas Astruc made. I hope to give an honest perspective on teenagers life and how messy it is, while tell a ground superhero story.
But that's enough out of me, how do you like it? If so give a like or comment, really help me. I've already had several chapter back locked and I'll be releasing one every week.
So until them, I'm Deusex and I'll see you next time!
