I would like to let everyone know, very briefly, that these first few chapters are meant to view the lives and Actions of the students of Class 1-A as well as teachers and other students, while still focusing on Denki and trying to create how he would interact with these people. I am trying to keep everything platonic for right now and let one of my favorite ships slip. Let me know if you know what ship it is: and I'll try to get better with platonic relationships only
"Oh, you're Early Kaminari! What a pleasant change from the usual. While I'm elated you have decided to manage your time better, I must say I am displeased to see that you're not in your uniform!" Iida scolded with his signature hand chop. Small smile flipping into a distasteful frown.
"Oh? Well I'm sorry, you'll have to give me a moment to not laugh." Kaminari said boredly. Being the only other person in the room it was clear to tell who the blonde was, but until Denki looked up at the youngest Iida, the boy with engines had not seen Kaminari's deep eyebags.
"I honestly would have expected you to check the Calendar Iida, I can't say I'm not surprised, but I have a completely ethical reason for not being in uniform and being earlier than usual." Denki flipped his phone to the taller male with glasses, who leaned down slightly to peer at the screen.
"I see, I'll send a message to the chat, letting everyone else know that they should be here soon, and dress in casual clothes, but warm like sweaters and such."
"Good idea Class Rep!" Kaminari chanted in mock salute. Taking a pair of headphones from his pocket and placing them in his ears. He shut his tired eyes and laid his head on his desk. If he wasn't half asleep he would have seen the soft smile Iida gave him.
When Denki woke up, Iida was at his desk working on some math papers, he had a deep blue turtle neck on and a pair of wide jeans fit for his engines. Kaminari quickly analyzed that Iida had gone down to the locker room and pulled some extra clothes, seeing as going back to the dorms would have taken too long there and back, and most likely distracted the Sargent like teen.
"Glad to see that you're awake, I was worried because you looked like you haven't slept in a week." Iida exclaimed with a gleam.
„try a month„ Denki mumbled to himself, looking around the room. Almost everyone was there minus his usual group and Aizawa. Uraraka and Tsu were over talking to Momo, Tokoyami also had his headphones in. Todoroki looked half as tired and bored as Kaminari, and everyone else was doing their own thing.
Denki was startled a moment later when he heard the usual growl of Katsuki Bakugou. The blondes of the friend group were unusually close, but Kaminari was afraid he was always one breath away from it being his last when he was around the explosive boy. A few sounds that sounded like clapping rang in Kaminaris, a familiar shudder running through the electric blonde as he recognized the sound of Bakugou quite literally letting sparks fly. He then keened into the sound of Ashido and Sero cackling about something or the other. The three seemed genuinely surprised that Denki was already there. Mina rushed over when she saw Kami's tired eyes.
"Oh, my baby! What happened to you?! You poor poor thing! You're stirring next to me on the bus, and you're getting some sleep. No questions asked!" Mina scolded. Kirishima walked from the doorway, watching shyly for a moment, he had his hair down once and took his seat behind Kaminari not without giving his shoulder a light teasing punch matched with a toothy grin.
"So how long have you known about this trip?" he asked, confusing Kami, how had Kirishima figured him out so fast?
"Long enough." came Denki's response moments later. Ha reached into his caramel-colored drawstring bag and pulled out what looked to be a spiral notebook and a pencil
"What are you doing bro?" Kiri tilted his head in question.
"Aizawa will be here any moment, I'm just getting my stuff ready and making sure I have it all." Kami exclaimed, as Kiri's eyes widened when Aizawa walked, yes actually walked instead of Slithered, into the classroom, he glanced around taking attendance silently, before motioning for the class to follow him as they all ushered around the room.
Taking their seats on the bus; Kaminari sat next to Mina as demanded, Bakugou took the window seat with a grumble, Kirishima sat next to the Pomeranian without a moment's hesitation in the seat behind Mina while Iida and Sero sat in the seat in front, with insistence from the class rep that he stay near the sleepy Pikachu just in case, as well as to thank him for letting him know about the calendar.
"So you really did know about the field trip! Do you know where we're going?"
"First off, Nezu started the calendar for special events and training stuff this year, hoping that if we can expect what's going to happen for the rest of the year, it will make it easier on us, which I honestly think was a good idea. Second, of all, we're going to Kori-Natsuma, it's an ice rink bit too far away. Aizawa Sensei actually approached me about it." Kaminari confessed.
"Why would Sensei confront you about where we're going for a veils trip?"
"You're half correct, it's actually part field trip; like a way for us to almost literally cool off, with what's been going on lately, but it's also to help us train in different fields, area space, as well as temperatures. Since it's an Ice-rink, it's an enclosed space, and we all need to get better at using our quirks in small areas with minimal damage to the property. But another thing is that because it's an ice rink, there's only so much room for people and movement, it's often stressful when you're either unable to balance yourself, or you have no room to do what you want to do. So it's also to help us to be prepared for different temperatures, some might be caused by quirks that are like Todoroki's, or maybe they affect the weather."
"The reason that Aizawa even brought it up to me is about the temperature thing. Because of my quirk being electricity and all, it's like really hot, I've even ended up burning myself because of it. You guys all know my dumb/whey mode, or when I shirt circuit. If I overuse my quirk past it's limit, I tend to go kinda numb, but it's even worse when I overheat. I know you guys have noticed that my limit has gone a lot higher recently, and that's because I've been training my quirk at Kori-Natauma, for the colder temperatures, it's easier to control my quirk and i can now go to a much higher voltage.it keeps me from overheating so I go there at least twice a week, and because it's pretty much a personal training ground for myself, Aizawa Sensei wanted to know if it would be alright to take the class there."
"So you told it was fine then, right Dunce-Face? Because I don't see any other fucking reasons as to why would be going to your stupid little ice palace." Bakugou scoffed with feign annoyance.
"But of course I did Kacchan, I told him that I was excited to have all of you guys there, and suggested we mix Field Trip and Training together. He wants us to spar with each other for a little bit, then he said it would be amusing to see each other mess around with like Ice-skating skills or whatever. I think he thinks we're gonna fall on our faces."
"Well he's certainly right about most of us, my engines might make me fast, but I'm sure I'll land biting the floor or on my back more than once." Iida chimed in with a light chuckle that surprised the whole group.
"Well at least Iida admitted he's not very good on the ice!" Mina bellowed, turning to look at Kaminari, "Who do you think would be the best?"
"Obviously I have a bit of experience myself, thanks to my personal training, but it's an honest bet that Todorki will do well, thanks to his quirk. But I also saw how you used your acid during the sports festival to maneuver yourself around, you're very well balanced. I also believe that Midoriya will be able to stand his ground pretty well thanks to you teaching him how to dance and all that"
"Awe! I'm glad you have so much faith in me!" Mina gushed, placing a hand on her heart matched with a beaming smile. Her face had gone pinker if possible, and she grabbed Kaminari and pulled him in for a tight hug, everyone in the group ignoring the disgruntled 'lucky!' from somewhere on the bus (take a guess at who it is)
The bus came to a stop around half an hour later, after the hugging session Mina threatened Denki to get some sleep, which he did gratefully.
20 teenagers filed into a like, a mismatched pattern of hair color and height, followed by their sleepy sensei. Denki rushed ahead towards the doors, no hesitation as he yanked it open and then headed straight for the front desk. A few others who were close behind him watched with a questioning gaze as he slammed his hand down on the chilly counter top.
This is what he's wearing IDK
"O-oh, well uh hi Den! Back so soon?" A boy with caramel skin and white hair questioned, a silvery eyebrow raised
"O-oh, well uh hi Den! Back so soon?" A boy with caramel skin and white hair questioned, a silvery eyebrow raised.
"Class field trip thing, can you get me the remote?" Denki asked, staring into a pair of red eyes.
"Yeah, sure thing Denki, I mean it's not like you even have to ask, you're here at least twice a week anyways." The boy muttered, crouching down behind the counter top.
"Alright, there it is, anything else I can get for you, love?" the white haired male cackled, allowing the others to see the two small white spikes on his collar bone. They knew the pet name was a platonic joke, and probably something akin to teasing. The boy with red eyes and their Pikachu seemed to have a good friendship.
"Yeah, 2 things. Could you mist the ice?" Denki asked quickly, and with the click of a button the ice had a fine spray of water freezing over
"Second thing, you have my gloves? And what did I say about about calling me 'love' Rynoko?"
"You told me not to, but you know I give everyone stupid pet names! It's either I call you love or like darling or something. Anyways, here's your gloves." Rynoko said with a soft shake of his placing a pair of yellow cotton gloves on the counter. The gloves looked like they would go up to his mid-wrist.
"I Hope you guys brought money!" Aizawa started, gaining the attention of 19 students. Kaminari had headed to the bleachers.
"I'm kidding, although it would have been nice, this is a chance for all of you to both relax and show off what you know. Just tell Mr. Toge (meaning thorn) Rynoko your shoe size and get your skates. I wanna have a quick discussion with everyone before we do our activities.
A breath of relief resounded around the room, each teen quickly checking their shoes and telling the silver haired Rynoko their shoe sizes before rushing over to the bleachers where Denki sat. The blonde boy had his shoes off and you could clearly see his mismatch socks. The whole class gathered around. His legs were crossed and a pair of indigo skates laid at his feet.
"Alright, I was thinking,as silly as this sounds, thanks to all of you teenagers I was given an idea; you each have about 5 minutes, or a whole song I guess, to get on the ice with your skates on. During the song you can dance or skate, but I want you to try and use your quirk to hit those targets." Aizawa pointed ahead of the group, nobody aside from Shouta noticing that Denki had hit a button on the remote he had asked for earlier.
The class minus their excitable blonde cheered with joy.
"Order doesn't really matter to me, only rules, one at a time, and pay attention to the targets. The ones that look like building, and the green people; try to avoid hitting, resembling property and citizens. The ones that actually look like targets, are free for alls meant to help you with your aim. The red figures are representative of villains. And yellow ones are other heroes either pro or in training. I hope it's all straightforward from there." Aizawa reached to his left and stole Denki's pencil, stilling the boy and startling him away from his paper.
"I am aware that what you're working on is important, and that you've had time to train here more than once. I believe you will surprise everyone with your advancements. I'm hoping you'll wait ti go last to show off, and I'm assigning you to be the dj."
Denki nodded at the simple request, going back to his sketchbook. After his classmates had decided who was going when, thanks to Iida recommending, more like ordering, they all line up, the most willing or excited going first. So of course Mina was first in line, followed by most of the BakuSquad. Todoroki offered to go second, simply so he could get it done with, but Bakugo was not happy so Mina was going first, as she went up to Denki to tell him her song, followed by Bakugou, and Todoroki, then Kirishima and Sero. Most of the girls filed in after Sero until the whole class had decided. Iida himself, the leader of it all, was going 12th, attempting to make an example of himself, by not being first, but also not being last. He would be earlier if it wasn't for Toru and Uraraka running up behind Sero with a quiet Tsu behind them and a slightly nervous pair of Momo and Jiro not long behind.
Denki would listen to them as they told him their song, he would find the song, ans okay it through the speakers, thanks to Bluetooth, then he would watch as they made their way down to the ice, and gave them a moment to get comfortable, walking with skates is one thing, but on the ice is another. Denki cringed as he watched Mineta get on the ice after Jirou had gone, the Indigo haired girl was his best friend and he wasn't afraid of the consequences if he ended up frying that grape. He was surprised at Minetas song choice, only slightly. But the performance itself was almost poor and he stuck to areas the girls had been in. He ended up falling more than once and stayed down on the ground longer than he should have. Denki watched as Mineta badly mouthed the lyrics to 'She Looks So Perfect' by SOS.
Koda clearly had a bit of trouble, and the chill of the ice rink made it hard to get any animals to stay long, but other than the training part, he seemed to be having fun on the ice and also an experienced skater; obviously with enough experience to do it well, not quite as well as Ojiro Mina or Todorki, whom like Denki thought did really well, but he's also was t as bad ans Kirishima was, the poor boy was falling every which way and had to constantly remind himself to not activate his quirk while skating unless he wanted to break the ice.
When it was finally his turn, Kaminari practically skipped down the stairs. His tired and yet excited classmates watched as Kaminari gave Rynoko a quick look, and the red-eyed boy went to his laptop pressing a few keys. Denki was on the ice in perfect time for a few of the targets to start moving, specifically the people shaped ones. The yellow heroes and green citizens stayed in close area to each other and the villains stayed near the buildings and free targets. The song lonely dance started to play, the sound of trumpets echoing followed quickly by the lyrics.
The dance looked almost choreographed, and obviously practiced, Mina would have beamed but she knew that this was a dance to only be performed on the ice. What astounded everyone including the teacher, was the fact that Denki's eyes were closed. He was using pure instinct and experience to guide him through, instead I'd trial and error.
The gloves he wore seemed nothing unusual, but when Kami stuck out his left hand, aimed in the direction of the heroes, the students cringed for a moment before electricity shot just above the yellow and green cut outs, sparks fell down and the cardboard backed away. Denki opened his eyes and shot twice, one at the villains head, making the red cut out jerk forward, it fell in a way that a person might have tripped, the other shot landed right before the man-cut out hit the ground, where a stomach would have been. In a real life scenario, the villain would have been shocked enough to be weakens and stay on the ground(shhh just pretend)
His classmates clapped for him, and Aizawa crossed his arms over his chest. A small proud smile barely visible beneath his scarf. But Denki knew it was there, and he knew his own smile probably matched. He was scared to show his teacher and friends, but they were all so happy with his progress he just then realized how far he had actually come. With a small bow and a gaggle of teenagers, he was strapped up in a hug and the others were cheering and laughing. It was noisy, but sometimes you need to drown out the noise with more noise.
