CHAPTER 1: Meeting Gobber
Early Winter of 1336
Story's POV
Jack was flying through the night skies minding his own business. When suddenly he noticed a fire appearing on what he assumed was a village. Being curious he flew over to see what was all the commotion was about.
He arrived just after seeing a Boy hit something with his capture weapon and see it crash in the woods.
Jack's POV
After I watched the dragons fly away with their spoils. I flew back to the island and landed on a roof of a building above a group surrounding the boy I saw hit down something into the forest. The boy looked like a toothpick next to the big muscular man with a big beard.
Jack: "Windy please pick up their voices so I can hear them." I asked, the wind immediately picked up and carried the voices to where I could hear them.
Man: "Hiccup…" just from the tone the man spoke in. I knew the kid, who I'm assuming is Hiccup, did something wrong.
Hiccup: "Dad, please I'm not lying. I really did hit down a Night Fury. You have to believe me." The bearded man who must be this Hiccup kid's father. Released a heavy sigh, before he turned to a man with a ax for a hand.
Hiccup's Dad: "Hiccup that's enough, Gobber, take Hiccup home while I deal with the damages from both the dragon attack and my son and make sure he stays there." Gobber nodded and immediately picked the kid up by the scruff of his fur vest.
Gobber: "Come on, Hiccup you heard the chief." I decided to follow them.
Hiccup: "Gobber, I swear I really took down the Night Fury." I could tell that the kid was telling the truth, but the man didn't even glance at the kid. Apparently it seems like the kid has often made these accusations, but they ended up being wild goose chases. Cuz the dragon manages to escape.
Gobber: "Look Hiccup, I know you're a good kid, but you need to stop doing this. Between you and your father, you are not fit enough for handling dragons." I flinched at this, Hiccup hanged his head.
Gobber: "But that doesn't mean I'd sit back and let Stoic keep you in his shadow." Hiccup looked up at this.
Hiccup: "What do you…" Gobber cut him off.
Gobber: "I'll talk to your father about training you. Along with the other Viking kids to learn to fight dragons." Hiccup's face lit up.
Gobber: "Just so you know once you choose to do this. There will be no turning back. So I'll wait two days to ask. Also…" They stop in front of a house.
Gobber: "If your telling the truth about the dragon, I'll let you go look for it. But don't let your guard down." Hiccup looked excited and rushed into the house.
I look at Gobber before deciding to jump down.
Gobber: "I was wondering when you showed yourself, winter spirit." I was surprised, how had he noticed me. Better yet, how can he see me.
Gobber: "I'm a firm believer in the Norse gods, monsters, and spirits. Especially wind spirits and fire spirits. Cuz I was once a fisherman, before I lost my hand to a sea dragon. Then I became a blacksmith. I'm not really surprised meeting a winter spirit. So what's your name kid?" He asked, as he turned around to look at me. I stood there shocked.
Gobber: "What's wrong kid? Simpilback got your tongue?" I shook my head, before chuckling.
Jack: "No, it's just that you're the first person in my 20 years of being a winter spirit to be able to see and speak to me. As for my name, I'm Jack Frost, but you can just call me Jack." Gobber nodded before hobbling over to me.
Gobber: "Well, Jack was Hiccup speaking the truth?" I thought for a moment.
Jack: "I arrived just as I saw his contraption hit something large, tho I couldn't see what kind of dragon he hit, but he isn't lying." I said, seeing nothing wrong with telling the guy. Gobber nodded and started to hobble away, before he stopped and looked at me.
Gobber: "If it isn't to much to ask, Jack, can you please follow Hiccup and make sure they don't get hurt." I guess it's fine.
Jack: "Sure." I nodded, he looked at me with a smile.
Gobber: "Also Hiccup will be able to see you too, she's a Demigod. Hiccup is the daughter of Fayette Goddess of Life, Kindness, and Creation. Not that Stoic knows he has a daughter or The woman he loved was a goddess. The kid knows that she isn't normal." I stop and looked at the short man.
Jack: "Hold on, hold on. Hiccup's a girl?" Gobber nodded before he explained why nobody knows.
Gobber: "Yes, but only myself and her Best friend Astrid know cuz I was the one that had raised Hiccup and I took Astrid under my care in secret after she lost her parents in a dragon attack. Hiccup knew that she'll have to act like a male. Cuz she knew no one would take her seriously. So me and Astrid helped her with hiding her female features. Then I had explained that Astrid was the most likely to be married to Hiccup. They understood that it was the only course of action that they could take, to keep Hiccup safe, until we find another way to help her escape." I looked at him confused.
I noticed Hiccup, exit the house and ran into the forest. I return my attention to Gobber.
Jack: "Why would Hiccup need to escape?"
Gobber: "Well Hiccup will most likely be killed or forced to marry one of the boys in the village and well Hiccup doesn't like any of the males. She had watched how they all acted with Astrid and Hiccup wasn't impressed with them." I looked at him.
Jack: "Your telling me this why?" Gobber look at me with a sad look.
Gobber: "I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that Hiccup and Astrid will be in trouble and they'll need help to escape. I can't help them myself cause I'm already on thin ice with the village." I chuckled a little at the unintentional joke.
Jack: "Fine I'll help. Also if you ever need my help immediately just call my name and I'll be there as soon as I can. Also tell Astrid and Hiccup, that I'm a friend. Until then I have a meeting and introduce myself to Hiccup. Windy take me up…" I said as I was lifted up into the air.
I waved at Gobber before flying off into the direction where I saw Hiccup had gone.
