CHAPTER 2: Hiccup & The Night Fury
Jack's POV
It didn't take me long to find Hiccup. I noticed that she was getting frustrated and was about to give up. But I noticed the tree line above her looked like something had crashed into them and I also noticed a black dragon on the ground not to far off.
I looked back at Hiccup and noticed a few loose pages in her note book.
Jack: "Windy grab Hiccup's attention by grabbing those loose pages and get her to look at the broken trees above her." I said, from the top of the trees, to make sure Hiccup wouldn't hear me.
The wind immediately picked up around the girl grabbing ahold of the loose pages and successfully gaining the girl's attention. She followed the loose pages and noticed the broken trees.
When I saw that it worked I flew over to the dragon. I knew it was still alive from it's labored breathing, but I could tell that it was in pain. I didn't see any wounds on it, but I placed my hand on it's head.
If your wondering how I'm able to touch a dragon. Well I'm actually able to touch any of those who are able to see and hear me.
Also animals and creatures doesn't matter what species they are. Were always able to see me and they sometimes came to me for help, but dragons never came to see me.
I knew why they don't tho. Most dragons were very prideful, arrogant, and egotistical beast. Don't even get me started on the Alphas, Omegas, and Deltas Dragons.
They are the most stubborn. But there are rare occasions were some had come to me for help. I remember when I gained the respect of a powerful dragon and gained her loyalty to me.
~Flashback~
It was when a group of 10 heavily injured dragons had come to me carrying 2 or 3 unhatched eggs each.
It was 22 eggs in all, I used my magic to make a net to hold all of the eggs and then made copies for the dragons to confused their pursuers and I also had one of them to stay as I made a copy of the dragon that stayed.
After they left leaving me, a red female dragon, and the eggs behind I quickly lead the dragon to my camp. I then blessed both the dragon and the unhatched Dragonets.
The dragon's size had increased and her appearance had became a mix of different dragons. She had freaked out by her new appearance, but after I explained that she could switch back by just imagining her original appearance.
She did as I said and was relieved to see herself back to normal. I explained that she was now a Royal Hybrid dragon. I then told her that she had all the same abilities, powers, and a mix of some of the appearances of the unhatched Dragonets. As well as impenetrable scales and hide.
She looked at me with surprise. She then did something that surprised even me. She bowed to me and showed her neck to me. It was her submitting to me if I should ever need her. I smiled and accepted her submission. I then placed my claim over her on her chest.
Using my frost magic I made a frost burn in the shape of a snowflake into her chest. I added my magic to it to change it's appearance to the symbol of whatever ice god the person is religious to.
This how I had gotten my own dragon as well as how I became the first dragon rider.
~End of Flashback~
I heard Hiccup getting closer, I grabbed the pages from the air and jumped into the air before hiding among the branches.
I watched the completely humorist scene. I then watch with bated breath as Hiccup raised up a dagger to kill the dragon. Before I watched as she hesitated and saw why. She had made eye contact with the dragon. I then watched as she groaned and just as she was about to start cutting the rope.
I flew down with my hood up and made my Norse symbol on my cloak. I hovered just above the night fury.
Hiccup saw me and immediately jumped back and held her dagger in front of her. I just floated there. I noticed her studying me and saw her eyes stop on the symbol on my chest. As she calmed down, but still kept her guard up.
I sat down on my staff. Swinging my legs like a kid.
Hiccup: "Who are you?" I giggled at her.
Jack: "I'm the one who nips at the noses during winter." I said, using the saying that people used to say when the kids forgot their hat or scarf.
Hiccup: "Juken Frista?" I freeze hearing that.
Jack: "Did they really changed the name again! I mean seriously how hard is it to remember Jack Frost it's the simplest name!" I released a sigh of exasperation.
Hiccup's POV
I stay silent and try to remember the stories. I had read about the spirit that was floating before me. The symbol was the same as the one that seemed to be branded on the Hybrid dragon queen's chest up on Oden's mountain.
The hybrid dragons are the most peaceful dragons. They never attacked villages even when they are attack by them.
Jack: "I see you recognize the symbol on my cloak." I snapped back to reality and yelped in surprise as I realized that his face was extremely close to mine.
I fell backwards in surprise. He chuckled at me softly. I glared at him, he simply smiled.
Hiccup: "Yeah, it's the same mark that is said to be branded on the Queen of the Hybrids, are you related to the branding or something?" Instead of answering me, the guy just smiled and floated down to stand in front of me.
Jack: "Hmm… I am, tho she submitted to me and follows my words. I'm impressed by you. And that's saying a lot." I stared at him.
Hiccup: "What are you talking about?" He smirked at me.
Jack: "I'm surprised, that You, a daughter of Goddess Fayette. Had not only shot down the last known living Night Fury without killing it. You were also going to try and free it, instead of killing it, but…" I was confused when his voice became sad.
Hiccup: "But what…" he didn't say anything, but he removed his hood to reveal pale skin, icy blue eyes, and hair that was as white as snow.
When his icy blue eyes meet my emerald green eyes. I felt my heart jump in my chest. I couldn't help but admire his features. His messy silver white hair. His sharp yet round child like face. His pale scarless face. His small yet round nose. His pale pink colored Lips his sparkling icy blue eyes. Eyes that would normally hold the look mischievousness yet playfulness in them, but… instead all I could see in them instead was sadness and worry.
Jack: "You took away it's freedom. Even if you released it now, it wouldn't be able to get back to the skies. You should know what happens to a dragon when they're unable to fly anymore." I looked at him with confusion.
Hiccup: "What are you talking about? I don't see anything wrong with the dragon's wings. They look completely fine to me." He released a heavy sigh.
Before he could answer, tho, the dragon released a few growls and… Wait, were those whimpers? He looked at the dragon. Then to my surprise the guy started growling, clicking his tongue, gnashing his teeth, and made gurgling noises.
It appears that I wasn't the only one that was surprised, either. The Night Fury's eyes widen in shock as it growled and gurgled in response.
I didn't want to disturb them, so I decided to wait until they were done.
Jack's POV
Hiccup: "What are you talking about? I don't see anything wrong with the dragon's wings. They look completely fine to me." I released a heavy sigh, but before I could answer her. I heard the Night Fury start growling in dragon.
Night Fury: "My wings are not the problem, stupid humans… It's my right tail wing… I-I-I can't feel it anymore." The Night Fury's was female from the sound tone of her voice. I looked at the Night Fury before replying.
Jack: "First of all, I'm not a human, Night Fury. I'm a winter spirit, a God of Winter." I rolled my eyes at her shocked look.
Night Fury: "You can understand me and speak the tongue of my species, how?" I looked her with a face that said 'really?'.
Jack: "Spending 15 years with 24 newly hatched dragonets and a dragon queen. Has it's benefits especially if the said queen submitted to you. She allowed me to preform the dragon rider's bonding spell with her and a dragon egg to be bonded to."
Jack: "I also provide help to those who asked for it. Like how I had blessed the queen of the Royal Hybrid Dragons and the 22 eggs she and 9 other dragons had brought to me for help, as well as protection. I even blessed the queen and the unhatched Dragonets with two blessings. The 1st one was that the wind would protect and help them, and the 2nd was the blessing of impenetrable scales and hide." I replied, she stared at me in surprise, before she released a sighed.
Night Fury: "Sorry, I didn't know that you were not a human. I just assumed you were one based on your appearance." I leaned on my staff.
Jack: "Haven't you ever heard of the saying, 'Never judge a book by it's cover.' before?" The Night Fury just gave me a questioning look.
Night Fury: "Can't say that I had, what does it mean?" I sighed.
Jack: "It means don't be to quick to assume things about something or think things are as they appear to look." She chuckled at this.
Night Fury: "Got it, I'll keep that in mind for the future." I sighed, before returning my attention back to Hiccup.
Jack: "Hiccup, I'm Jack Frost. I'm called The God of Winter, but I'm only a winter spirit. I'm can command the winds, and I'm a protection provider to those who can see me. Before you ask, you and Gobber are the only ones that I currently know of. That can see me in your village. Also I know your covered secret. That only two others know, I'm sure you know what secret I'm speaking of." Hiccup looked terrified.
Hiccup: "Please don't tell anyone." I just gave her a soft, but heartwarming smile.
Jack: "I swear on Odin's beard, that I won't tell another soul, spirit, god, or person." I then held out my hand to her.
Hiccup's POV
Jack: "Hiccup, I'm Jack Frost. I'm called The God of Winter, but I'm only a winter spirit. I'm can command the winds, and I'm a protection provider to those who can see me. Before you ask, you and Gobber are the only ones that I currently know of. That can see me in your village. Also I know your covered secret. That only two others know, I'm sure you know what secret I'm speaking of." I looked at him in terror.
He knows that I'm not a male. I started to trembling in fear.
Hiccup: "P-pl-please don't tell anyone." I whimpered out in fear, but I was surprised when he just gave me a soft, but heartwarming smile.
I felt my heart skip a beat. His smile felt so reassuring. I felt safer than I ever thought was possible. His next words were what made me fall head over heels for him.
Jack: "I swear on Odin's beard, that I won't tell another soul, spirit, god, or person." I could tell he was being completely honest to me. I knew that I had developed my first ever crush and it was on a winter spirit no less. Jack held out his hand to me to help me up.
I grabbed it and he pulled me to my feet, tho, he was a little too fast. I stumbled and fell onto him. He was quick to steady me, but not quick enough to stop our bodies from touching. I blushed cuz I could felt his muscular and well toned body from underneath his cloak.
I then gotten a whiff of his scent. He smelled like the forest and the sea. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow and a smirk on his face.
Jack: "Are you enjoying yourself, Hicó?" I blushed, before looking at him in shock.
Hiccup: "What did you just call me?" He smirked and repeated himself.
Jack: "I said, are you enjoying yourself, Hicó?" I heard the new name he used for me.
I smiled, it wasn't too girly or too boy like and I immediately took a liking to the name.
Hiccup: "Hicó… I-I-I like it." He looked at me in surprise.
Jack's POV
Hiccup: "Hicó… I-I-I like it." I looked at her in surprise.
I just said that to tease her. I didn't expect her to take a liking to the nickname. I then steady her.
I then looked at the Night Fury. Hiccup doing the same.
Jack: "If we free you. You must first promise me you won't attack us. As well as trying to fly, walk, or run away." I said in a serious tone with a bit of a Alpha's command to it.
I saw the Night Fury's eyes dilated and her body twitched.
Night Fury: "I promise that I won't attack or try escaping." I nodded, and snapped my fingers.
Suddenly something cut off the ropes. The Night Fury slow stood up and looked at me.
Jack: "Follow me you two." I jumping up into the air.
I looked back seeing the two were following me. I lead them thru a cave and into a area where it was open but had high walls little to no grip holds. The only way out was flying. Tho, that depended entirely on Hicó and the Night Fury working together.
After I explained what was going to happen the two immediately started to complain and argue with me. But I shut them up with one of my icy glares. With that I left them.
(A/N: Everything is the same as cannon. Hiccup is forced to fight dragon's in the arena by her father. Gobber knows about the Night Fury. Thanks to Jack, Astrid finds out about Toothless and meets Jack earlier then in cannon. Thanks to Jack secretly leaving a message from Hiccup. To meet up with her at a certain location in the forest.)
