It all started with Lily Evans being delusional.

Somehow, for some reason, she thought she was the person in the world who knew his Remus the best. She had claimed that because she was his best friend, and had been friends with him the longest, it was bound to be her.

Crazy.

Obviously, Sirius knew his boyfriend better than anyone. Yes, they'd only started being friends in third year when Remus realized he was a boy, and not a girl, and therefore had to switch to the boys' dorm when the girls' dorm no longer allowed him in, but they had very quickly become the best of friends after that. And boyfriends now, of course.

Which meant that Sirius definitely knew him better than anyone in the world.

Lily Evans (and anyone else, for that matter) was a fool for thinking otherwise.

To prove to Lily (and everyone else, for that matter) that Sirius had the most knowledge of Remus Lupin in the world, he had issued A Marauders' Challenge: A War of Bragging Rights and Shame.

It was really quite simple. A third neutral party would make a list of questions and read them out loud. This time it would be James because he loved Sirius and Lily equally (though Sirius more than Lily, he was sure). Then the contestants would write down their answers, and Remus would have to confirm who was right.

They had solved many debates this way.

Friday night the Marauders and the Valkyries (boys and girls of sixth year Gryffindor) found themselves in the marauder's dorm. Sirius and Lily were standing next to each other in front of podiums. James stood in front of the larger podium in front of them, and Remus sat next to him on the good armchair, as he was the guest of honour and judge. He already seemed annoyed, but that just meant he looked adorable. Peter, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and Emmeline sat on Sirius' bed, resembling an audience.

The radio was playing music, they had snacks and were waiting in anticipation for the first question.

James cleared his throat. "What is Remus' new middle name?"

John.

"What is his eye colour?"

Green with specks of gold.

"What is his mother's name?"

Hope Lupin.

"What is his favourite nickname, that Sirius calls him?"

Moons.

"What? No." Lily complained. "They all call you Moony."

Remus shrugged. His boyfriend sat cross legged on the armchair with a red blanket wrapped around him – looking utterly amazing. "Sirius calls me Moons. It's a nickname of my nickname."

Sirius was trying to rub it in by making faces, but Lily wasn't looking at him. She pressed her lips together and muttered fine, so James marked a score for Sirius, which put him in the lead by one.

James continued: "What is his favourite tea?"

Earl Gray.

"What is the name of his plushie?"

Wolfington.

His boyfriend seemed embarrassed at that one, but to be fair, he had named it when he was five.

"Who was Moony's first crush?"

Me (obviously).

"Lily is right," Remus said.

"What?" Sirius whipped his head to look at her sign. "Professor Poundstone?"

Arturo Poundstone had been their Defence Against the Dark Arts professor in their second year. Lily looked smug, but she was mature enough not to brag. However, Sirius crossed his arms and pouted. "Why him?"

Remus' cheeks were red. He shrugged but kept pulling at the hem of the blanket. "Because, you know. He is cool." They were all looking at him now, so Remus wrapped himself tighter in the blanket. "He kinda looks like you, a bit."

Sirius positively melted at his boyfriend's cuteness. "Does he?"

All the others nodded while Remus sank further into the armchair to escape.

James marked a score for Lily, so now there were even again. He cleared his throat and looked at Remus when he spoke. "Which band does Moony listen to in secret?"

Remus rolled his eyes. "You can't use the game as an excuse to get to know my secrets." He could be a bit of a snob when it came to music, but James suspected he was lying about his music taste. And he was right. Sirius' boyfriend liked ABBA.

James whooped when Remus revealed that indeed, both Sirius and Lily were correct.

"What is his favourite subject?"

Defence Against the Dark Arts.

"Where was his first kiss?"

Oh, Sirius knew this one very well. "Allow me to demonstrate," he said, and without waiting for an answer, Sirius walked up and stood in front of his boyfriend. He took his hand and pressed a few gentle kisses to his knuckles, as he had a couple of years earlier.

It had been a full moon, shortly after they found out Remus was a werewolf. His hands had been badly bruised and broken so Sirius decided to kiss them better, but Remus said it didn't count because of the bandages. Naturally, Sirius then had to kiss them once the bandages were off which prompted Remus to tell him he hadn't ever been kissed before.

And then…

Sirius' gaze found Remus. His whole face had turned red, now perhaps a permanent fixture. But it wasn't just red with embarrassment; his cheeks had a warm honey glow, and he looked the loveliest he had ever had.

That night… Sirius thought that this was when he knew he liked Remus in a different way than the rest of his friends.

Remus cleared his throat. "Uhm, Pads. I think he meant where in the world, not where on my body."

"Oh." Sirius had forgotten he was in the middle of something. "The dorm. On your bed."

James gave both Lily and Sirius a score, but Sirius kept standing and holding onto Remus' hand. His fingers were warm and tingling and left butterflies in Sirius' stomach. They'd been together for so long, yet this was his boyfriend's effect on him.

"Can I kiss you?" Sirius couldn't help himself.

The audience let out a collective 'aww'. The blush quickly spread down Remus' throat and to his ears. "You may."

Remus wasn't always comfortable with public displays of affection, yet sometimes he allowed it, and each time he did, Sirius felt the same way as the first time they had kissed: excited, nervous and overjoyed. Sirius always wondered if his heart rate would return to normal after such an experience.

Once they parted, Lily spoke: "I'm calling foul! Sirius is clearly seducing the judge."

Sirius huffed but didn't look away from Remus. "He's bisexual, which means you have a fair shot."

"No!" James said immediately. "Sirius, stop seducing the judge and go back to your podium."

Sirius rolled his eyes. He kissed his boyfriend's knuckles one last time, before stepping back.

He had already won Remus. He could win this game as well.

A/N I have been reading a queer book where it constantly says "his boyfriend" and that just fills me with so much joy, and it is the only thing I wanted for this fic. So there you go xD
