Gooey was on his way back home, he held the pizza box over himself as he crawled along the ground. He wasn't sure what the other Dark Matter would've liked, so he simply grabbed a cheese pizza. It still smelled good, so he was sure that they would like it regardless.
Now came the hard part...which way was home, again? He rubbed his head with his tongue, although he'd lived on Popstar for a few years at this point, he could never remember which way his house was.
"Hey there, Gooey!" Said a certain hamster as he walked over to him. "Lovely day, isn't it?"
Fortunately for him, however, he had plenty of friends to help him here. One of them happened to be his friend, Rick.
"Yeah, it is," Gooey replied. "Today, I got three new siblings."
"But how?" asked another hamster. "Did you find them in a cardboard box or something?"
The hamster in question wore a red bow on her head. She looked similar to Rick, but her spots were pink instead of orange. Her name was Pick, if Gooey remembered correctly.
"Yes! Exactly!" Gooey said with a nod. "Waddle Doo had them all in a box, so I decided to take 'em in."
"Can we see them?" Rick asked excitedly.
"Wait, aren't they Dark Matter?" Pick asked with concern. "What if they possess you?"
"They won't, I promise!" Gooey yelled. "Besides...I kinda got lost, anyway."
"Well that's no problem, we'll be happy to take you back home," Rick said as he offered one of his paws. Gooey sprouted an arm and held Rick's paw.
Soon, the hamsters helped lead Gooey back home. It was just as quiet as it was when Gooey had left. When he opened the door, he saw that the three siblings were now exploring the house. One sat in the empty fireplace, one dragged a crayon across the floor, and one flew in circles near the ceiling.
"Hey, I got pizza!" Gooey announced as he dropped the pizza box and opened it. The trio looked at the box and stared. Slowly, one of them approached Gooey with a curious gaze.
"It's good," Gooey said as he took a piece with his arm and tossed it into his mouth. "Try it!"
The Dark Matter continued to stare at Gooey. Slowly, one of them formed a jagged mouth and attempted to eat the pizza. The other two came over and tried the pizza as well, but they simply absorbed their food instead.
"Huh...don't think I've ever seen Dark Matter like those before," Rick said with curiosity.
"Is that what the babies look like" Pick asked. Gooey shook his head. "No, I think they might be...under cooked."
"You really think so?" Rick asked as he tilted his head. Gooey replied with a nod. "They're more like moving clouds of darkness, they got no fins or anything."
"Ah, well I'm sure their dad will find them pretty soon."
"I kinda hope not," Gooey said bluntly. The last thing he needed here was another Zero to take over Popstar. In fact, it was probably why Kirby took off in the first place.
"Er...maybe an older sibling could take them back instead?" Rick asked awkwardly.
"Maybe, but until then they're my siblings," Gooey said happily. The trio glanced at Gooey before they continued eating. However much time Gooey had with them, he was going to enjoy that time as much as possible.
Soon, it was night time. The hamsters had already left a while ago, and Gooey had the trio tucked into bed again. Gooey planned on going to bed himself soon, but he couldn't help but feel worried. If these guys were here, then their Zero must be somewhere nearby...right?
Gooey still remembered his fight with his Zero like it was yesterday, the scar on his belly was a harsh reminder of that day. However, maybe the trio came from a kinder Zero? Maybe this Zero treated all of its creations with kindness, including the defective ones? It would still have to feed off negative energy of course, that's how you'd get more Dark Matter after all, but there were plenty of other ways to do so without taking over planets.
Of course...Gooey couldn't sense any of that energy out here, he and the trio were the only Dark Matter out here. It was strange, but Gooey felt as if the trio came from Gooey's colony, But he knew that couldn't be possible. After all, Zero has been dead for the past few years now.
...No, for now the only other Dark Matter here was the trio. Slowly, Gooey made his way back inside the house. All three siblings were asleep, they stayed curled up against each other like they did earlier.
A thought just occurred to Gooey, maybe he could come up with names for them? It was one thing living with one sibling, as most usually knew who Gooey was talking about when he mentioned Brother, but it was another thing to live with three siblings who were nearly identical to each other.
Now, what was a good name for them? Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie? No, that wouldn't work...Fire, Thunder, and Freezer? But they didn't have any elemental abilities, none that he knew of at least.
...Maybe this was why Zero rarely gave any of his creations names?
Gooey jumped as one of the siblings landed on top of his head. They were a little sleepy, but they seemed to have noticed Gooey's distress.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" Gooey asked. The sibling huffed quietly in response, as they couldn't speak.
"...Actually, do you want a name? I've been thinking of giving you guys names."
Although the sibling couldn't speak, they didn't argue otherwise. Gooey tried to come up with some names that popped into his head, but the sibling didn't seem to care. They didn't need a flashy name, something simple would do just fine.
Soon, one name in particular popped into Gooey's head, it was common in places closer to the Fountain of Dreams. And since the trio came to Dream Land, the name might still fit.
"How about...Rimuru?"
The sibling perked up as they heard the name, they looked at Gooey with a curious gaze.
"Yeah, I think I'll call you Rimuru. And the other two can be Rimura and Rimuro!"
Rimuru squeaked in acknowledgement as they slowly made their way back to bed. It was getting late, after all, so Gooey decided to join them as well. They barely even moved when Gooey hopped onto the bed with them. It fact, they curled up against him until they were all comfortable.
For a moment, Gooey couldn't help but wonder how Kirby would react to seeing them here. Although he would be surprised at first, he would probably welcome them with open arms. After all, Gooey was a Dark Matter and he still lived with Kirby regardless.
Gooey let out a yawn as he started to doze off, he couldn't wait to spend more time with his new siblings tomorrow.
So I did try to look up what Rimuru actually meant, one definition was for "dream", which I thought was fitting given that Kirby focuses on dreams and whatnot, but most other results were stuff for the slime isekai (whose main character is also named Rimuru apparently)
It could just have its own meaning on Popstar though.
