Author note-My first foray into fanfiction! It is what if Voldemort never existed. Follow, favourite and review to encourage me.
It was a warm Saturday evening. James was playing quidditch, flying a high quality broom. Harry was simply awestruck by the grace with which his father flew. He wanted to be an awesome auror and flyer just like his dad when he grew up. He also wanted to be kind and caring like his mother.
"Dad, can I fly with you?"Harry asked with hope in this voice
"Your mom will kill me if I allow you to do that. However, since she is away for shopping right now, you can fly for sometime." James said, glad to see Harry's interest in flying.
James went to pick up a spare broom from the broom shed and transfigured it to a smaller size. He instructed Harry to say 'up' and summon the broom. Harry immediately succeeded in his first attempt. James taught him the basics of flying and he was happy to see that Harry was a complete natural at flying.
Hours went by as the father and son duo lost track of time. By that time Lily appeared and was extremely surprised to see what was occurring in front of her eyes.
"GET OUT OF THE BROOM HARRY!"Lily yelled at the top of her voice. Harry descended from the broom, fearful of the mood her mother was currently in and was thinking of what harsh punishment he might get for the rule breaking he did.(It was a rule in the household to never let Harry fly in a broom.)
"HOW DARE YOU ALLOW HARRY TO RIDE THE BROOM!!"Lily yelled, completely outraged by the fact that James had allowed Harry to ride the broom despite Lily warning him several times not to break the rules of the household. However, James never seemed to pay any heed to Lily's sensible advice.
"I'm sorry Lily. But no harm was done to our young Harry here and he had a very fun time." James said.
Lily was angry at the way James was defending Harry's action when Harry could have been seriously injured, or worse have died. James knew that he had seriously angered Lily and had to do something to make it up to her, so he proceeded to cook the dinner for the family that day. Lily was surprised at the way James had handled the situation, as it oftentimes such situations led to arguments between the couple.
"I'm sorry for the way I broke the rules of the household, please forgive me."James said
"How could I not forgive you after that?"Lily said to James.
The dinner was delicious, beautiful aroma was coming from the mutton and there was also everyone's favourite treacle tart as a dessert. There was also vegetables which Harry didn't like to eat despite his healer's advice, his parents had to force him to eat those vegetables.
"I don't want to eat the vegetables!"Harry said in displeasure, but his parents forced him to eat those vegetables regardless. After eating a full meal, the family went to sleep for the day.
