"I hate this," Dean muttered as he flipped through then closed another lore book. "I'm hungry."
This was his seventh complaint in the last ten minutes. Hermione shared a look of exasperation with Sam and Jessica. "Hey, if one of you go to the store, I'll cook," Dean said, looking up.
Jessica's gaze tracked to the cast on his left leg.
"I can stand; I just can't do a lot of walking," Dean defended himself even though Jess hadn't said anything.
"We'll go," Jess said, standing and grabbing Sam's hand before he could argue. "We could use some air anyway."
Hermione watched as Dean shuffled through the bags that Sam and Jess brought back from the store for a third time. He looked up at them and gave both of them his best puppy-dog eyes.
"There's no pie?"
Hermione secretly thought his pout was pretty impressive, but neither Sam nor Jess even seem phased.
"The store was out of pie," Jess said as she shrugged.
Dean's eyes went wide at the devastating thought.
"There's a dessert bar on Main Street. After dinner, I'll go get something," Hermione offered. The smile Dean gave her caused butterflies to dance in her stomach.
