Summary: It'd been forever since Kagome last saw her half-sister, Bella, but she still goes to help her when she's down. She's wary, now a dog demon and a member of Sesshoumaru's pack, but with wolves and vampires around, Kagome realizes that she doesn't have to keep her secrets so tightly. Though, when one of the wolfpack imprints on her, Sesshoumaru, as her Alpha, is far from pleased.

Prologue
The letter rested on the table's surface. Golden eyes were peering down at her inquisitively, and she eventually found herself looking up at the figure standing on the opposite side she sat on. Without even having to voice the question, she knew already what he was asking.
What were the contents of said letter addressed to her?
Her mother hovered against the kitchen counter, looking between the pair occupying the kitchen. They'd come together when she asked for her daughter to return home for the sake of the letter. Concern hovered in the air around the blue-eyed girl- the scent of it sharp.
"Is she really that bad?" Kagome asked finally, looking away from Sesshoumaru and to her mother. Her mother shrugged and approached the table.
"I'm not sure, Kagome," she responded, her voice soft. "I know you haven't seen Bella in years, but your father would really appreciate it if you could go help," she continued. "Distract her a little from the boy trouble, be a friend."
The letter had been written by her father, concerning the mental and physical state of her younger half-sister.
"You two always got along so well when you were little," her mother continued. "It sounds like Bella just needs a friend right now, more than ever."
There'd never been any animosity between them, nor her mother and her father's second wife for that matter. They'd co-parented easily, for the most part. It'd been years since she'd even seen her father, however, and even longer since she'd seen her half-sister. The last time she'd see her father was prior to her fourteenth birthday. That was almost five years ago.
She felt Sesshoumaru's gaze lingering on her, and Kagome looked up to meet his golden stare. She wasn't unaware of the way her mother looked between them before gently patting her shoulder.
"I know you need to discuss it with Sesshoumaru," she said then. She looked at the demon in question with a look that clearly conveyed her feelings. "I'll leave you be so you can talk privately."
One of the best things about her mother was how understanding she was of all the circumstances and situations she got put in. Even if she didn't understand all the inner workings of them, she was as patient and understanding as ever.
Kagome sighed and reached for the letter. It'd been opened many times in the past hour alone, and the crease in the middle of the page was starting to wear already.
"You wish to go."
It wasn't a question, but a statement. It was one that she couldn't even try to deny, if she even wanted to. She looked up at him and nodded.
"Of course I do," she responded softly. "I just…" she paused and looked down, the rest of what she thought she wanted to say fading to the back of her mind.
If she went, then he would come, as well. He wouldn't allow her to go on her own. He wouldn't allow her to go that far away without him. His instincts wouldn't allow that to happen, and he'd prevent it as he saw fit as the alpha. As her alpha.
Kagome rested her head in her hands and sighed, her shoulders slumping.
"I'll go with you."
Kagome was startled by the sudden claim, picking her head up with widened eyes. "Eh?" She tilted her head to the side as she processed the words he'd just stated. Had she heard him right? "Y-You'll…"
"Go with you," he finished for her, folding his arms over his broad chest. He sounded as if he'd made his mind up already, and she was taken aback. It wasn't the answer she'd been anticipating. Not so soon, at least. "If this is what you want, then we'll both go."
"I don't really look the same as I did back then, now do I?" she asked, her voice dipping down into a low murmur.
She knew if she went, then the stark change wouldn't be what they expected to see. It'd taken her mother some time to adapt to the physical changes, as it was.
Her hair, while still predominantly raven, had silver streaks running through the inky locks. It could pass as a dye job, sure, and her pink claws easily passed as a manicure, but the rest were a bit harder to explain.
The light pink lines along her cheekbones, just below her eyes- along with other parts of her body that were more easily hidden. The silver crescent imprinted in the middle of her forehead. The flecks of gold now peppering through her blue irises. The sharp, elongated canines… All of that, plus the rest, was a lot to take in.
"My father isn't aware of the way things have gone for me," Kagome continued to explain. "Mom knows, obviously, but Dad…? Not so much."
Her mother was aware of it all. Of how she was no longer human. Of how she'd been changed. She knew that it'd been Sesshoumaru's doing and that she was now a part of his pack and his family. She knew and understood perfectly well how they operated now, and understood that they needed to discuss matters such as this between just them.
He arched a brow as she fell silent.
"Maybe I could use magic to cover the marks?" she mused to herself softly, resting a hand on her cheek.
"You will not," Sesshoumaru retorted flatly, and Kagome whipped her attention up to him with a glare.
"Oh, come on," Kagome argued, "no one will even know what they mean!" she exclaimed with a whine.
He matched her whine with icy silence, and they met at a stalemate. It went on for several minutes, just them glaring at one another. Before long, Kagome sighed and finally conceded, giving in under the weight of his glare.
"Sheesh," she sighed, rubbing the back of her head. "I can just see Dad freaking out about the hair, let alone the tattoos." She couldn't think of anything else to call them, and she certainly couldn't explain they were marks binding her to a demon's pack.
"Where is the location?"
Kagome looked up upon hearing Sesshoumaru's question. Memories of that place came rushing back. "Forks, Washington," she responded. "It's in the United States."
Sesshomaru nodded in response and turned to leave without a word in return. Kagome looked at his retreating back, knowing that was her cue to pack what she would be bringing.
000
It was a good thing that she decided to start packing when she did. It wasn't even a full three days later that he returned with confirmation that everything was ready. He'd gotten everything in order- including a place to stay and fully furnishing it. When they arrived, she knew he expected her to give it her own touch.
Her father knew she was coming, but he didn't expect her for another two days. In the meantime, she focused on getting settled.
The back porch was pained black with deep green banisters. The space there was wide and empty. There was a small set of stairs that led down to a yard. In the distance was a thick forest of trees. The scent of rain was heavy. It was nice, in a way.
She liked the scent.
It was familiar and had such a homey feel to it.
Her demon companions often complained about it and how it washed away scents far too easily, but she couldn't help but love it so much. It was peaceful.
The house he'd chosen for them was simple. Well, simple for his standards. It was two stories with four bedrooms and a study. The kitchen was large, and so was the den. It was larger than they needed, truthfully, but it was always better to have too much space than too little. Especially when it came to her companions.
As she stood there, an unfamiliar aura brushed along her senses, and she frowned, letting her eyes open as she peered out into the distance. There was nothing she could see, nothing that she could smell from here, yet the aura was impossible to ignore.
It wasn't human, but it wasn't bad. It certainly didn't come off as a threat to her.
She lifted a hand and brushed her long locks back over her shoulder, pink claws threading carefully through them to detangle them slightly. When she pushed her hair back, the pink stripes peeking out from beneath the collar of her shirt became slightly visible.
Briefly, she wondered if Sesshoumaru had been able to pick up on it, too, if she could. His senses were much better than her own, after all. If he had, he didn't seem concerned about it, at least. If he was, then he would've joined her by now.
She shook her head and turned, surveying the wide open space of the wooden porch.
"Some chairs and a table would be good," she mused to herself. It'd, at least, make a comfy lounge spot with a couple of additions to it.
The day came at last. Her father was expecting her that afternoon, and she'd called him already to tell him that her flight had landed. He didn't have to know she didn't actually fly on a plane, or that she had traveled with Sesshoumaru instead.
"You want me to come pick you up?" Charlie asked, his voice coming through the speaker of her cell phone.
Kagome shook her head, even though he couldn't see her. She worked on fixing her hair into a braid. "No, it's okay," she responded as she did her hair. "I'm actually staying with a friend, and he helped me get settled in and all."
"He?" Charlie repeated, and Kagome glanced at her phone at his tone. "Kagome, are you sure….-"
Kagome was quick to cut him off before he went off on the tangent she knew was to come. "We're just friends," she stated. "Honestly, Sesshoumaru is more of a brother than anything, y'know?" she added. "We're not like that, Dad."
She heard his sigh of relief, and she had to refrain from heaving one of her own.
"Still," he continued, "I don't know this boy. I don't want you being taken advantage of."
"Mom does, and she trusts him," she responded. "Anyway, I figured it'd be good for you to meet him, too," she added as she finished her braid. "So, he's gonna come with me to visit." He was silent in response and Kagome reached to pick her phone back up. "Er… if that's okay with you, that is?" she added mildly.
"It'd be good to meet him, at least," Charlie responded. "Get to know the crowd you're running with nowadays."
Kagome smiled and nodded. "Sesshoumaru can be a little cold and aloof, but he's a good friend. He looks after me a lot, too."
"He doesn't sound all that bad, then."
Kagome glanced at the demon in question from the mirror as he stepped into the room. He'd most likely heard his name and come to see what was being discussed. "I'll be over in about an hour," she reminded. "See you soon, Dad."
"I'll be keeping an eye out for you," he responded. Not long after, they both hung up. Kagome sighed and set her phone aside as she stood up from her vanity.
She peered at her reflection a bit closer. She had managed to hide most of the silver with her carefully styled braid, though she knew it'd be noticeable if the light caught on the silver strands. The moon on her forehead was at least covered by her bangs, but the pink streaks on her cheekbones were impossible to hide without magic. Maybe he wouldn't notice the gold in her eyes with the sun hidden behind the clouds.
She'd chosen her attire carefully. She'd made sure the sleeves covered the pink stripes on her wrists, and that the collar hid the ones along her neck.
"It's the best I'm gonna get," she stated softly. Sesshoumaru eyed her as she turned to face him. "I get the feeling if I don't do anything, and Dad just sees it all at once, it might be a bit too much."
Sesshoumaru looked as stunning as ever, even in more casual clothing. Well, as causal as he got. Black slacks and a navy button-up. He was gorgeous in anything he wore, truthfully. She missed the traditional garb he'd worn in the past, but his modern choices were just as good. His figure was much better defined in his current choice.
"I'm ready if you are," she said, tearing her gaze away from his figure and back up to meet his molten gold eyes.
She wasn't surprised that he'd decided to tag along with her the first time. He wished to see the figures she'd be with for his own benefit. They were her family, but that was the extent he knew. He didn't know what they even looked like.
He gave a nod, and Kagome beamed up at him. She linked her arm with his own as they headed outside.
Auroua-chan: This story has been in the works for a while now. I'm excited for this! In the next chapter, Kagome will meet back up with Charlie and Bella (and perhaps Jacob and Billy Black, who Charlie might've invited over because Kagome came.) Sesshoumaru will be there, so there's no telling how that'll go.
So, Kagome is Sesshoumaru's pack mate (with him being the Alpha, obviously) but she's in pretty high ranking to him, too. For reference, she is currently 19. She and Bella are half-siblings. Kagome is also no longer human. She wasn't seen in this chapter, but Rin is also around. (in a similar state as Kagome.) Rin's currently 15, fyi.
I'm not sure which member of the wolfpack is gonna end up with her, but it's gonna be one of them. I'm leaning more toward Sam than anyone else for this story (which means he and Emily wouldn't be a thing) but I'm not sure just yet. Sesshoumaru and Sam are gonna butt heads on her, either way, due to Alpha things.
Anyway, that's it for now! Thank you for reading, and I hope you all enjoyed. Hopefully I caught all the errors before I posted, but if not sorry.
Please remember to Review&Favorite&Follow, thank you!
Bye for now~
