"Post's on the table," Hermione told Dean as she was passing him in the hall.
She didn't think anything of it until she finished folding the laundry and swung back through the kitchen for a glass of water. "Dean?" she asked. He was standing at the table with a piece of post in his hands. "Did you get something upsetting?"
"Hmm?" He asked, seeming to come around from his thoughts. "No. It's just... I've never gotten junk mail before." She glanced at the mailer in his hand; it was an advert for a local furniture store.
"Never?"
"We've used post office boxes when we needed to, but junk mail doesn't come through those." He still looked a little off, though Hermione was finding it difficult to read his expression. Longing, confusion, awe—she couldn't tell. "I guess it's because I haven't had a permanent address since I was four."
"Well, now you do. I'm sure you'll start getting annoyed with it like the rest of us soon enough."
He smiled and looked over at her. This time she could read the look on his face: fondness and love.
