Here is a short story I wrote long ago (if you consider 2 years a long time) but never thought about releasing until now. Anyway, I noticed a lot of people favor Celia (not saying I dislike Celia) but I just really like Satsuki's interactions with Haruto. Like the way she can be "aggressive" but meek the next second. I also like the way she hit it right off with Haruto (some people might say that it lacks impact as they had no important or life-threatening event to bring them closer but I fancy this "oh, we just have a good vibe with each other even without a special meaning").

Also, I'm aware that the plot is quite rushed and sudden but I really wanted to make this short… at least that's what I think I had in mind two years ago.

Quick spoilers from the novel: Satsuki was a friend and upperclassman to Miharu but was summoned to the other world as a hero. During the summoning she acquired a Divine Weapon with abilities like physical strengthening and she started practicing with Haruto after befriending him. She also became friends with Charlotte (a girl who likes to toy with people and ruin relationships for fun), the princess of the Galwork Kingdom, where Satsuki currently resides as a special guest. Satsuki bonded really quickly with Haruto in the novel. Oh, and due to how close Satsuki and Haruto got in a short amount of time, the king decided it would be best to have Charlotte push Satsuki and Haruto together and eventually marry their child to someone of royal lineage, as Haruto became a honorary knight under the Galwork Kingdom.

"Hey, are you listening, Haruto-kun?"

"Eh?"

"Ah! You really weren't listening to me!"

"Satsuki-san?"

Haruto looked to the side and was met by Satsuki's disapproving gaze. She was pouting and Haruto thought she looked cute but decided against saying it out loud. But more importantly, they were both sitting side by side on a sofa, really close to each other and Haruto had no recollection of how this situation came to be. They seemed to be in a room, likely in the castle Satsuki lived in, the castle of the royal family.

"Spacing out and leaving a lady to talk to herself, that's unlike you, Haruto-kun."

"My apologies. I'm not sure how this happened myself." Haruto lowered his head.

"Well, I guess even you can make mistakes so I can forgive you this time, Haruto-kun."

"Thank you for your mercy, Satsuki-sama."

Though Satsuki reproached him in a pompous manner, Haruto knew she wasn't that arrogant and was only teasing him so he played along. Her response, though, came as a surprise to him.

"Geez, I know that I started it but I already told you to drop the 'sama'. Even though we are engaged you still talk to me like a stranger sometimes."

"...Eh?"

"What?"

"P-Pardon me but did you just say 'engaged'?"

"Of course. That's what we are, right?" Satsuki said with a shrug.

Haruto couldn't hide his shock. What was Satsuki saying as if it was a matter of course? Did she hit her head somewhere? Maybe since he was the one who couldn't remember why he was there or when he got there, he was the one who hit his head instead? Either way, his panic showed on his face and Satsuki didn't miss it.

"Since a while ago, what is wrong with you, Haruto-kun? Did you hit your head or something? You aren't going to say you don't remember or something, right?

"...I deeply apologize but I really don't remember."

"Eh?"

"As far as I recall, we were friends but closer than that is…" Haruto was interrupted by Satsuki getting closer to him.

"Y-You are joking, right? Co-Come on, Haruto-kun! You almost had me for a second! Ahaha…" Though she tried to laugh it off, her voice was full of desperation.

Normally, Haruto would have commented that they were too close. Their noses were almost touching and he could feel her breath on his face. But what surprised him the most was Satsuki's expression. It gave off the feeling that the world was ending before her eyes, seeing her like that, Haruto couldn't bring himself to say anything tactless. Still, staying silent was more than enough as an answer to Satsuki.

"Satsuki-san…"

"How could it…!"

"Satsuki-san!"

A moment before Satsuki ran off, Haruto could see tears forming in her eyes. Haruto immediately followed her into the hallway. There were no guards or servants around at all and yet Haruto didn't try to question this abnormality, as if the thought didn't cross his mind. Right now, all he could focus on was getting to Satsuki.

As Satsuki wasn't using her divine weapon's ability to reinforce her body, Haruto quickly caught up with her. He made sure to grab her arm to stop her but without forcing it too much to avoid hurting her. Though he was successful in stopping her, Satsuki still kept her head down, avoiding his eyes.

"We need to talk, Satsuki-san."

"About what? You said you didn't even remember our engagement! And I was so happy too! What did I even mean to you?! Were you only playing with me?!"

"...I'm really sorry, Satsuki-san. But I really can't remember and I need your help to understand what is going on." Haruto tried to reason with her.

"..." Satsuki showed no response.

"Please, Satsuki-san. I need your help to remember what I forgot, to help you."

Haruto held her hand, firmly but also tenderly. After a brief moment of silence, Satsuki finally spoke up.

"...Then, open your arms."

"Like this?"

"That will do."

"Oh!"

To Haruto's astonishment, Satsuki threw herself into his arms and her head into his chest. Haruto was startled but couldn't bring himself to reject her given how desperate she seemed. She was hugging him so tightly that it hurt a little but Haruto remained silent, waiting for Satsuki to calm down.

It took a few minutes and a few pats to the back, but Satsuki eventually calmed down.

"Sorry, I lost my cool back there." Satsuki looked a little embarrassed.

"It's fine. It was my fault anyway."

"How could it be your fault? I should have known you are not the type to play around with girls and discard them. Even if you are suspiciously surrounded by cute girls all the time, I know it isn't on purpose."

"Ahaha…" Haruto tried to laugh it off.

"But do you really not remember? The way you acted, it reminded me of the time when we first met. You always kept a certain distance, never getting too close."

"I'm sorry but I can't remember."

"Hee… I see."

Satsuki was looking him in the eye, without blinking. Somehow, Haruto felt like he was being stared down by a predator. It wasn't killing intent but something strangely more intense.

"Then I just have to make you remember, right?" Satsuki's gaze was getting fiercer.

"...How will you do so, if I may ask?" Haruto was getting pushed back.

"I mean, at a time like this, you should go for strong memories, right? So if I do something that had a strong impact on both of us in the past, maybe you will remember something, right?"

"Satsuki-san, your eyes are scary!"

Before he knew it, Haruto had his back against the wall. Satsuki kept her hands on the wall, surrounding Haruto while her body pressed against his. Sure enough, Haruto felt her softness and warmth and a sweet scent reached his nose. Contrary to the confident grin on her face, Satsuki was red all the way to the ears. She was just as embarrassed as him but her momentum wasn't stopping.

"...Satsuki-san, why is your face getting closer?"

"S-Shut it, Haruto-kun! Don't make me say it out loud! All you have to do is close your eyes and wait! Think of it like shock therapy. Yes, shock therapy!" Satsuki was trying to convince herself.

"W-Wait a moment! Satsuki-san!"

"At a time like this, you need a princess' kiss, right?" though Satsuki was a hero, not a princess.

"T-That's not the way it goes, Satsuki-saaann!" Haruto shouted from the bottom of his soul.

Satsuki's face got closer and closer and then…

"Waah!"

Haruto jumped and realized he was in his room. He looked around, no Satsuki, no castle hallway. He was in his rock house, on top of his bed to be more precise.

"...My god, what kind of dream was that? Satsuki-san would kill me if she heard about it. Rather, why would I dream about this? Even her personality was different, more aggressive, did I have some weird fantasy about her? …I should apologize next time I see her." Haruto resolved himself in his heart.

Elsewhere, at the same time…

"AAaarhg! What was I doing?! Even if it was just a dream, how could I act like that?!"

Screams were heard from Satsuki's room and a few servants immediately ran inside. Satsuki just dismissed them saying it was a dream.

"Damn… why couldn't it last just a few more seconds?" Satsuki whispered not to be heard by anyone.

And another short one, if Satsuki alone had the dream

(Hm? Was I sleeping? Somehow, it feels really warm and comfortable. I don't feel like moving for some reason.)

Before she realized, Satsuki was leaning against something with her eyes closed. She was pretty sure her bed and her sofa didn't have any parts that allowed her to lean against while she was sitting so she wondered what it was. Until 'it' spoke.

"Are you awake, Satsuki?"

(This voice… Haruto-kun? I guess it is Haruto-kun… Wait…)

"H-H-Haruto-kun?!"

Satsuki sprung awake and jumped away from the sofa they were sitting on.

"W-Was I leaning on you, Haruto-kun?!"

"Indeed you were. I didn't wake you up since you looked so comfortable." Haruto said with a smile.

"Urg!"

(I was leaning on Haruto-kun! Did he see my sleeping face?! I'm so ashamed I want to die!)

To be more specific, Satsuki's head was on his shoulder, with her hair tickling against Haruto's cheek. Despite Satsuki's panic, Haruto just smiled amusingly. Somehow, this ticked Satsuki off.

"D-Don't just watch like you find my embarrassment amusing! I'm gonna use you for a pillow if you keep that up!" Satsuki blurted.

That was a statement that Satsuki wouldn't make if she was rational but her current panic mixed with her annoyance at Haruto's composure resulted in her saying something a little outrageous. Her current embarrassed self's priority was to somehow turn the tables on Haruto but that backfired horribly.

"Sure, if you wish for it, then I don't see a problem with it." Haruto said without a hint of mischief in his voice.

"Eh?" Satsuki couldn't believe what she was hearing.

(W-What is this?! Is this some prank? No, Haruto-kun is not the type to make jokes like this. Maybe someone put him up to this? Maybe Charl-chan? If so, what should I do? Should I keep pushing to see how far he goes? Yes, I just have to break Haruto-kun's composure, I have to go on the offensive! Just you wait, Haruto-kun!) {Charl-chan refers to Charlotte}

"I-I'll hold you to it then!" Satsuki tried not to stutter.

"Yes, yes." Haruto just gave a small laugh.

"D-Don't just shrug it off!"

(Those damn iron nerves off his!)

"I am taking you very seriously, Satsuki."

"Hmpf! So you say… Wait, 'Satsuki'?"

(Did he just call me "Satsuki" without the "san"? Now that I think about it, he did it before as well.)

"Hm? What's wrong?"

"No, it's just… You called me without adding honorifics."

"Well, you said before that since we are engaged I should drop the honorifics when we are alone."

"Hah?" Satsuki's mind blanked out.

"You also said that you were going to call me 'Haru-kun' eventually."

"I-I did?! And what is this about engagement?!"

"...Are you okay, Satsuki? You've been acting a little different since you woke up. Are you still a little sleepy?"

"A-Aren't you the one acting strange saying all that stuff?! And how do I usually act then?!"

"Well…" Haruto scratched his cheek with his finger.

(What the hell is going on?! What is he saying all of sudden?! Engagement?! Me and H-Haruto-kun?! When did that happen?! When did I say I was going to give him a pet name?! He was saying it so easily it didn't sound like a joke or a bluff!)

Looking around in a panic, Satsuki noticed that her room looked a little different from usual. For example, the bed was bigger and had more pillows as if to emphasize that it was made for two people. It was all too elaborate for a prank. Unaware of Satsuki's internal panic, Haruto answered her question.

"You usually ask me to practice combat skills and then carry you when you are tired, sometimes we sleep cuddling together, when we eat by ourselves we spoon feed each other and…"

"Uaahh! Stop! I get it so stop!" Satsuki shouted, holding her head.

"I mean, it was mostly your suggestion so…"

"Are you saying it was my fault?!" Satsuki crouched down still holding her head.

Seeing Satsuki on her limit, Haruto approached slowly and patted her head.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to tease, okay?"

"...I know."

Satsuki felt unexpectedly calm with that. As if Haruto's presence alone could put her at peace.

(Urg, he is so considerate even at times like these. I don't remember ever agreeing to an engagement but… am I allowed to be happy about this?)

Just as Satsuki was wondering how to approach the topic about her memories…

"Eh?"

She found herself on her bed. She got up and looked around, her room the same as before, no bigger bed and no second resident in the room. Her confusion was immediately followed by realization. When she understood that it was all a dream, Satsuki agonized for almost an hour. And was unable to look at Haruto's face for two weeks due to shame.

The ending was quite sudden but I couldn't come up with anything.
