In my opinion, one of the most interesting and compelling characters in the show RWBY is General James Ironwood. He starts out as one of the good guys, but as things get more dire in the show, he takes more and more drastic measures, becoming a tyrant in the process. Personally, I think that RoosterTeeth could have done a better job with making him a grey character in a world of heroes and villains instead of turning him into an outright villain, but that's just me. For this story, after we last see him in the show, Ironwood is rescued by aliens observing Remnant before the flood waters engulfing Atlas reach him.

Renowned Paragon: James Ironwood (RWBY)

Class: General

Veteran Class: Protector (His one goal was to protect Atlas; failing that, he now seeks to protect his new home with everything he has)

Destiny Trait: Academic Recruiter (As the former Headmaster of Atlas Academy, Ironwood inspires students to enlist after graduation)

Positive Traits: Cyborg, Politician (He held two seats on the Atlesian Council), Spycraft (As noted by Qrow Branwen, Ironwood prefers "cloak and dagger" tactics)

Negative Trait: Melancholic (His past mistakes and broken friendships back on Remnant make him sorrowful and nostalgic)

Ethic: Militarist (Ironwood was the most militaristic of all the leaders on Remnant)

Age: 52

Summary: Rescued from a pre-FTL society on the brink of collapse, this general is at home on the battlefield or in the boardroom. However, his past mistakes continue to haunt him.

Thoughts? If Ironwood were to survive the events of Volume 8, I think that he would definitely regret his actions.
