One scenario I like for the world of Treasure Planet is a typical interstellar empire (aka, one whose ships aren't classical wooden sailing vessels that have somehow been made to be spaceworthy) coming across the "Terran Empire" (that's the name of the empire that Amelia and Jim, as taken from the game, "Battle at Procyon", serve). Imagine what an invasion from a Stellaris empire, equipped with larger vessels made completely of metal, would look like to the ships that Amelia commands? It would be bad and, providing that Jim survives the fall of the Terran Empire, he would be looking for a new empire to serve.

Renowned Paragon: James Hawkins

Class: Admiral

Veteran Class: Tactician (Jim likes to use clever ploys and gambles to outsmart his enemies)

Destiny Trait: Guerilla Tactician (Jim has faced off against far greater and more numerous opponents, such as the pirates)

Positive Traits: Artillery Focus (Jim prefers to use brains over brawn to outwit enemies and mitigate his opponents' strengths), Engineer (Jim is a natural with technology), Jury-Rigger (Jim has no problem with using salvaged materials and improvisation to create solutions, such as the solar surfer made from a plasma cannon)

Negative Trait: Reckless (Jim is the very definition of this trait)

Ethic: Xenophile (Jim loves being in space and exploring the cosmos)

Age: 30

Summary: An admiral whose empire fell due to invasion by a technologically-superior foe. Despite losing everything, this admiral is willing to learn and adapt to an expanded galaxy and new technology.

Thoughts? I haven't played Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon, but maybe I'll find and watch a cutscenes movie of it in the future.

One theory that I have for how the ships in Treasure Planet are able to work is that their artificial gravity generators are somehow able to ensnare atmosphere from the ports they dock at, thus allowing for the crew to function as they would onboard a traditional maritime sailing vessels. Aesthetically cool, and also speaks to a technological development that most civilizations don't come up with, but in the face of a navy of much larger vessels, all made completely of metallic alloys, it wouldn't be able to stand against them.
