Rilaya- I like it that you understand me

Riley and Maya, are in college, and things have changed. An urgent text is sent, "Bay window. Bay window right now." Riley needs to urgently tell Maya something that happened, and is uncertain how Maya will react. After the conversation progresses, things are said that can't be unsaid.

2. Bunnies and a Realization

Their grips waning, the two settled resting their foreheads against each other, Riley occasionally rubbing her nose into Maya, taking in her closeness. She thought of being in Yoko's dorm, and how leaving that room, she had a sense of clarity which she never quite experienced.

"I have always loved bunnies, all kinds of bunnies…."

Riley was going on about rabbits, and Yoko was just smiling, enjoying her rambling. Yoko leaned in close, and said to her,

"I would really like to kiss you."

Riley was quieted into silence by this question, and did want to kiss a girl. Yoko was kind, and safe. So, she nodded and Yoko came right in kissing her. Riley expected to feel crazed fireworks. It felt special, and different, but not like a comet shooting through the sky and scattering magical joy and happiness on every fiber of your body like she had imagined. Riley kissed back, the moment not lasting very long until Riley quickly pulled away.

Riley stood up, and Yoko just stayed, hand still where it had been on Riley's cheek.

"Are you okay?" Yoko asked. Riley came back down and sat with her.

"Yeah, it is. You just taught me something. You are such a lovely person Yoko, and I know that you will have no trouble finding the person to share your world with. You will have to excuse me, I have to go to mine."

"Do you have a girlfriend!?" She panicked.

"Well, let's just say I promised her we would always be together." Riley said, with unwavering calm conviction.

"I'm sorry, you didn't say anything before. I didn't mean to come between you two." Yoko expressed, honestly just a bit confused.

"Yoko, I have enjoyed the times we've been out, I want you to know your time has not been wasted. Thank you."

With that Riley places a gentle hand on Yoko's shoulder, and the other on her cheek, giving her a last impression, before walking right out of Yoko's dorm.

When she kissed Yoko, she could only think of one thing. Maya. When she closed her eyes, she thought only of those beautiful blue eyes and the girl with the long blonde hair. That she wanted to kiss Maya.
