She stood at the window, looking down on the lush field beyond the castle. The land was calm and at peace for the moment, no monsters emerged to attack travelers. Princess Zelda breathed steadily, staring at her reflection, the brown-haired woman with blue eyes in a revealing royal dress that accentuated her shapely figure.

Her nostrils picked up the scent of tea, already prepared. She was supposed to be here soon, they'd been meeting quite a lot, and their kingdoms, so similar and nearly different in many ways, had become so closer despite being on different worlds. And their time zones, almost in sync.

Zelda recalled when Ganondorf was last defeated, when Midna returned to the Twilight Realm as peace returned to Hyrule. How she could remember the days, when the land was covered in twilight, and her the only one unaffected by it.

The Triforce had saved her then, until Midna needed help.

Now, after aiding another princess, she'd bonded with another princess from another universe, a princess as sweet and perhaps as beautiful as her.

And in times of uneasy peace, with monsters still roaming the lands, both women struggled to ensure the safety of their people. And no one could forget the brave boys who defended them, those sweet and handsome heroes who'd earned their hearts over.

Zelda heard the door open and turned, welcomed by the sight of the shapely and voluptuous pink hedgehog in the revealing purple and white gown, the emerald-shaped mark of Wisdom aglow on the back of her hand.

Princess Amy breathed a sigh of relief and closed the door behind her, Zelda could hear people chattering in the halls, even before the door closed.

"Safe traveling, your highness?" Zelda asked.

"Aside from a pair of demons and those journalists outside, all has been well." Princess Amy Rose replied, "I see you've made some tea for us."

Zelda sat down at the table; her tea cup ready. She gestured for her friend to sit and the pink hedgehog sat down, helping herself to a cup of tea. The guards in the room stood still, keeping an eye out for any unwelcome intruders, making sure both princesses were safe as they enjoyed their tea. What else could go wrong?

"Have the Gorons we lent to you proven to be helpful?" Zelda asked.

"Yeah, they're good with taking care of those rocks..." Amy replied, sipping her tea, "…especially when clearing out building sites for new villages in the mountains, and those guys may just be as good as the Gorodons."

"That flute you sent me was quite treasurable." Zelda sipped her tea.

"We have more flutes, if you get tired of the one you're playing. Is the Ocarina of Time still safe in the vault?"

Princess Zelda paused, holding her tea halfway to her mouth. A memory of another life rushed forth, a memory of when she played the Song of Time for a young boy, a young Link, a boy who'd played the instrument during his adventure in another world. It had been a long time since anyone found use for the Ocarina of Time.

"I think so..." She said, "What about your Ocarina of Time...?"

Amy shrugged with a smile. "Honestly, no idea." She replied, "It's been years since any of us in the royal family last played it. This tea's good, by the way..." The pink hedgehog sipped her tea, "...I guess we're using goat milk in it this time?"

"Perhaps, most of Hyrule's tea can be found at Telma's bar, especially after she got into making some tea following Ganondorf's defeat."

"So, this is some of Telma's tea...?"

"It's still the tea we make in the castle, just with different ingredients."

Amy smiled. "Just wanted to know, Zelda." She raised her cup, "To a prosperous alliance and a special bond."

Zelda raised hers, "To an era of peace for our worlds and our special friendship."

The girls clicked their cups together and sipped down more of their tea. Just then, Zelda felt the Triforce of Wisdom resonate on her hand intensely and set down her cup, Amy felt her mark of Wisdom glow intensely as well and set down hers. Zelda stood and grabbed her sword, looking around the room cautiously.

Amy stood and backed up until she and her fellow princess were back-to-back in a defensive manner. The guards didn't move a muscle, they both seemed to be concerned for the way the girls were acting, especially since the room was supposed to be secure...

Just then, smoke filled the room and a pair of black ninja-like figures appeared, knives drawn; Assassins.

Zelda raised her blade and the first assassin attacked, attempting to stab her, but Zelda pushed back and struck the enemy with the butt of her blade. The intruder made a run and attempted to land a major blow to the Hylian princess, who blocked the incoming attack, and punched her foe in the arm.

The evil ninja launched a kick at Zelda's head. The princess ducked, avoiding the strike. Amy focused on her attacker, who poofed behind her and slapped her on the butt, infuriating her.

The enemy came in to attack her with a kunai, only for Amy to block with a magic shield and then the pink hedgehog punched her foe in the nose. Her attempted assassin stumbled backward, clutching his face while grunting in agony.

On her end, Zelda blocked her ninja's next attack and knocked his weapon out of his hand, then she stabbed him in the side torso and watched as he fell over, incapacitated and beaten.

The guards attempted to aid the girls, only for the other ninja, who'd recovered, to knock them out with a kick to the head. Amy grabbed a spear from one of the guards and whacked the assassin in the head with it, dazing him, then she drove the weapon through the enemy ninja's body and watched as he fell one last time.

"Chju'tho'kii." Zelda remarked, "Rogue ninja warriors."

"I dealt with one of them a few weeks after Sonic struck down Eggmandorf." Amy said, "Didn't think they'd show up here on a day like this, nor do I know how they got past security."

"What matters is we're safe." Zelda said optimistically, she hugged her fellow princess.

Amy smiled and hugged Zelda back, nodding in agreement, they'd faced the worst and managed to fend off their attackers without needing a hero to back them up. Those guys weren't Ganondorf or Eggmandorf, but they were still dangerous and the girls had beaten them without much trouble.

Zelda then offered Amy more tea, refilling their cups with warm Ordon tea. Princess Amy smiled happily and the girls helped themselves to their drinks, feeling at peace once more…

The End
