His skull cracked under the heavy pressure of the moving car. Blood spilled onto the ground, leaving behind a rotting body. The police forces arrived before the ambulance, and upon glancing at his body, they knew there was no hope; he was dead.
The maddening darkness had not yet consumed him, but there was no chance of turning back; he was destined to float endlessly as insanity slowly pulled him towards a second death, one that was much slower and excruciatingly painful.
The blue light entered his visor like a fresh relief of water on a hot day. He didn't know what it was, but it vanished the moment he opened his eyes. Now he waited eagerly for it to return. With nothing but a glance of real hope, and one word etched in his memory. Remnant.
It started in the darkness, but ended in light. The coldness of the ghostly touch sent shivers down his spine. The only warning for what was to come. In the heat, he would relish more than his other life ever could. Even a different kind of cold he would be glad to feel. The light grew closer, and he wondered what had happened to that blue light.
He woke up not entirely there. His mind didn't run at full capacity. He felt the dizziness before the hunger. The smell of bread entered the room, and he followed it with glee. He walked past the worn-out walls and the rotting floor in the hallway, entering a dining area with four people.
He sat down without being bothered by anyone. Although he was moving like a dream, he realized they were substantially taller than him. The woman placed the food on the table and all three began eating and discussing, while the other girl sat beside him, about his height.
He watched everything through a haze, a dull sound beating in his head. The members looked at him concerned as he pinched his forehead. A flicker of blue entered his vision before quickly disappearing. His head throbbed harder, and the impending spell of sleep overtook him. He closed his eyes and collapsed onto the floor.
Blood rushed through his veins, the feeling of euphoria awakening him. He began to feel alert, no longer moving as if in a dream, and memories flooded him, causing him to question his surroundings.
There was no rotting floor, only the soft grass beneath him. The walls were made of trees, a forest, he realized.
He wandered around searching for food and shelter. Perhaps it was just his imagination, but there seemed to be something strange about this place. Whatever it was, he'd better get used to it.
Blue light flickered around the world, a course of binary flowing through charts unimaginable. Fear appeared on his face as the cave he was hiding in rumbled and shook to the point where its roof cracked and created a landslide.
He was trapped for a second time; however, this time, he wasn't alone.
A blue floating transparent object appeared in front of him. Currently, he was not bothered by it, only glad that there was at least some light to guide him. It did not stop him from asking though. He gave it a try, reaching his hand out and expecting a physical object touching his hands. That wasn't it. His arm went through nicely, as if it didn't exist.

The cave was dark, the walls, despite the light from the screen, were pitch black. The only visible thing he could perceive was the blue screen. Although it was quite straining on his eyes, maybe he could do something about it.

'...I shouldn't be complaining, atleast there's a map'
The map appeared in clear view; its style was classic. A circle surrounded a blue dot.
'must mean places explored'
'no opening in view, maybe a better look around will help...'
'...what's this?'
Something caught his cheek; from its shape and texture, he assumed it was a leaf.
'a leaf? how did it end up on my cheek?'
'the only way it could have flown here was... if there was breeze...and breeze means, a way out!'
He carefully navigated through the walls, following where the leaf blew. He couldn't initially pinpoint its location, but after some wandering, the scent of the breeze guided him in the right direction.

'error...? why?'

It was stretching out for too long. The darkness he could bear, but the smell...that might be a little problem.
He felt dizzy again; he wasn't tired per se, but it seemed as if another spell was at work. Then he realized the smell - it was gas.
He struggled to stay awake, and it was getting much harder to cling onto the wall. The screen didn't help either as he collapsed on the floor, not fully asleep but not fully awake, as if in a state of sleep paralysis. But there was no demon, only a loud boom and the first light he had seen in hours.
a foggy vision was the only thing he remembered after he woke up. and the sweet smell of berries and...gunpowder?
Waking up for the second time, the smell of berries entered his nose. A pile of hay was spread across him. The storage door creaked as it opened, allowing the first warm rays of light to hit his face. He savored them in relief and gladness.
He walked to the house just beside where he woke. The floors of the patio creaked, and a man exited the house to investigate the shadow he had seen on his window. Just as he was about to stick two big pointy needles into him, he realized that the boy was weary, and it was the boy he had saved.
"Well, my oh my - almost killed you there bud" the boy tensed
"Aha, don't worry bout it kiddo, I've stuck many people before, yours would just be another one" he slung his arm around him and failed to realize his discomfort.
they went in together, a nicely decorated home with a table around the corner of the door.
They sat at the dining table where his wife prepared some bread toast and jam.
"Ah, already awake?" she said
"Not so much a minute ago I assume" he picked something in his ear that was clogging it.
"he still had to treck a long mile to get here"
"Let us start eating then"
"Argh, finally"
She slapped his hand inches away from the bread. He laughed awkwardly - "Ah right, forgot to wash my hands" - and went outside, the sound of running water heard as he did so.
After a long period of sitting in silence, they both realized he had not touched a single piece of bread or spoon.
"Its alright deary, you can eat"
He reluctantly reached out for the bread and knife and started spreading slowly. The couple smiled and went back to enjoying their morning coffee and bread.
He thought about the three seats at the table and assumed there must be a family of three sitting there. He was correct in assuming this as another person, young and with black hair, about his height, climbed onto the chair which he had been struggling to reach. He realized sometime while he was walking, the size of everything seemed bigger not because it was, but because he was smaller and a couple years younger.
'...Maybe this was a good time to inspect other pla- people if I have the observation skill.'
'observe'

'that was it? I expected more but this will do too I guess.'
'So his HP is 80, mine is 83 does that mean he's CON is 1? or maybe he scratched himself before going down.'
he looked him up and down and noticed a scratch on his knee.
the boy, feeling uncomfortable, scootched back and did a raspberry to which he rolled his eyes at.
'...well that's childish immaturity for you'
'now what to do with stats'

'Intelligence wise, I have no clue to where I am'
'I don't want to die so maybe...CON?"
'But I don't know what's out there so STR?'
"Hey kiddo why dont we have a talk" the man of the house said.
'I guess maybe ill do this later' he nodded
"Whats your name?" he asked. wanting to ease familiarity to bring comofort or some sense of safety.
'My name, huh? havent really gotten to that part yet. maybe my old name will do...or not.' (he forgot)
He didn't reply, and that must have given them a sign of his displeasure. Maybe he doesn't want to be reminded of his history.
The big man frowned and looked at his wife for some help. He never really was the kind to ask many questions, just the name was good enough for him to trust anyone. Of course not after they sparred.
It went on for a while, taking turns asking questions, and it remained the same with him; he was as dumbfounded and ignorant as they were about himself.
I actually want to hear your opinion on this. Im not sure if I should write it in first pov and take the 'oh im badass' route, or use this pov and take a more plot worthy story while still being badass. The cons for this form of writing though is that im not well experienced in it, as you can see, so it might be a little jiggy. Its also the same for the first pov, though its much easier to express some thoughts because its your own pov.
Anyways, Ill be (hopefully) continuing this story. and if I dont, feel free to remind me by leaving a review and bugging me with notifications. (Although I doubt that would happen)
