Naruto is at 32 weeks when Kakashi gets inaugurated. He's at a safe distance looking up at Kakashi waving to the citizens of Konoha cheer on their new hokage.
It's a little bit disorienting though, because as soon as Kakashi appears on the terrace, several ANBU flicker away from him, then Naruto is whisked away from the crowd. An ANBU taller, thicker, broader than Naruto, asks him to come with him to somewhere safer, far from the sea of people waving back at their newly installed hokage. Sasuke allows this, because when Kakashi became Hokage, Sasuke, too becomes part of the Hokage's inner circle. The elders are having a stroke and Kakashi doesn't give a shit and tells them off—he holds the position of Hokage and father in equal weight.
"O-musuko-sama, hold tight," says the ANBU, when Naruto is snug in a bridal carry in his arms. Honorable Son.
"Don't call me that!" Naruto snaps.
He's brought to a function hall, and the ANBU sets him down on a waiting couch outside the room where a banquet for the first family, the assistants, and the council will be held. Good thing Iruka-sensei brought him a more formal set of kimono with a haori embroidered with the Hatake crest. The haori and hakama (which had been altered to fit Naruto tied below the breastbone) are gray, the nagagi green, and the inner shirt white.
"Hey," Naruto calls the attention of the ANBU who is no doubt one of the many assigned to look after him, trying to look serious and intimidating, but looks about as menacing as a hissing pregnant cat unable to get back up on its own feet. "Do not call me that,"
"Uh," the ANBU starts cautiously, unable to take Naruto, who's basically stuck to the couch without help, seriously. "We're… not exactly allowed to call the first family by name,"
"Well," Naruto huffs. "I don't know! It's not like you don't call me by my name when you're not wearing that mask!"
"We are ANBU first, therefore must put you first, O-musuko-sama,"
Naruto groans. "Fine! Just, Hatake then!"
"Now, now, Naruto, no need to bully your ANBU,"
Naruto looks over to the direction of the voice. "Sensei! Make him stop calling me that!"
"Maa," Kakashi pats his shoulder. "You know that for us shinobi, duty comes first," he waves the ANBU away, who bows then flickers out of sight immediately.
Iruka comes behind Kakashi, wearing the same thing as Naruto, but with the nagagi a darker green. "Oh my god, Naruto, tell me about it," says his kaa-chan. "O-danna-sama, are you fucking serious, Kakashi? I don't even call you that seriously!"
"Well, tell them what you'd like to be called!" says the new hokage. "It's not like I told them to call you that! It's just protocol!"
"I told ANBU-san Hatake was just fine, but he wouldn't budge!" Naruto frowns as Iruka helps him heave off the chair.
"Kakashi. Fix it." Iruka says as they enter the function room, where tables and food were prepared.
"Hey, you two can't talk to me like that, I'm the Hokage!"
"Hai, Papa-san," Iruka and Naruto chorus.
"Okay, now you're just bullying me," Kakashi says as he follows them, then sees Sasuke flicker in beside him. "Sasuke-kun! Oh, good, someone who's not going to bully me!"
Shizune is right behind them, snickering, and Shikamaru is already getting a headache.
"Sasuke," says Kakashi once they're back in the office.
"Hai,"
"You may commence with your first instruction,"
"Ryoukai shita," Understood. Sasuke flickers out of the office.
Shizune stands in front of the Hokage's table, waiting to be filled in.
"Best not to ask," Kakashi tells her.
"Hai," Shizune hands him another pile of documents.
In a henge, he enters the bar, orders a glass cold, fine beer, and sits at the corner. Sasuke finds out the name of the drunkard easily; he's been sitting there for exactly five minutes and 23 seconds.
Sasuke hears him mention Naruto's name in the same sentence as Kakashi's. Then begins to talk shit about how he thinks Kakashi should not be allowed near children after touching Konoha's precious savior, after how he doesn't deserve to serve as Hokage.
Hasegawa Yoshio. A beta. The owner of this bar. Who is drunk to hell and back drunk at eleven after four in the goddamn afternoon.
He finishes the beer and leaves.
It takes Sasuke less than a week.
On Monday night, on the day the Rokudaime Hokage is inaugurated, Mrs. Hasegawa, a beta, who has no children with her husband conveniently finds evidence of her husband cheating on her with one of his omega waitresses, who is also pregnant with his child.
Sasuke, on stakeout, hears commotion in their home just after ten in the morning and passing chuunin clear up the mess. Hasegawa is taken to the nearest station, written off for public disturbance. He notices immediately that a chuunin takes Mrs. Hasegawa, who has bruises on her jaw, aside to the women and omega help desk before she's sent back home at her request.
On Tuesday, Sasuke, in disguise, manipulates a civilian employee from the ministry of health into checking the bar's food safety and cleanliness. There are rats in the kitchen and mold in the wine and beer barrels.
On Wednesday, somehow, the stars align and the ministry for finance and revenue sends another civilian officer on a random check, to take a look into the bar's books. The bar has been evading taxes for six years. He might be thrown in jail for up to 20 years.
On Thursday, a warrant of arrest is served to the Hasegawa Yoshio, and the ministry for health and ministry for public safety close down the bar, and another warrant for domestic violence.
Sasuke enjoys the way the drunkard begs and cries as he's arrested. It's music to his ears.
His job is done.
On Friday morning, however, Sasuke catches news that Hasegawa Manami files for separation at the village registry. It's signed immediately and Hasegawa Minami becomes Tanaka Manami, her maiden name, by early afternoon.
Uchiha Sasuke, 3rd assistant to the Rokudaime Hokage submits a report to the Hokage's office.
Kakashi reads the document. Hums his approval and burns the report right in front of the shinobi who did as asked. "Hai, domou arigatou gozaimasu, muko-kun. Yoku dekimashita." Thank you, son-in-law. Good job.
Sasuke gives a nod.
Kakashi tries to get up. "Yosh, let's get some snacks,"
"Hokage-sama," says Shizune sweetly, suddenly appearing right beside him. She sets down a plate of biscuits and a cup of tea right next to him on the desk, then another stack of papers. "These are for your review and approval, deadline today,"
Sasuke almost wants to laugh. The Copy-Nin Hatake Kakashi reduced to paperwork.
"I just want to take a walk!"
"You can walk home after you finish your papers and your tea,"
Naruto tells Sasuke he'll be near the tower by noon so he can be picked up. Sasuke would rather Naruto stay home and rest, but he understands Naruto is going stir crazy being in the house alone with the plants for company, even if he likes plants.
Even though Kakashi didn't tell him outright, he understands what taking his name entails. His name means protection; it means people won't be fucking with Naruto anymore. Since Kakashi's inauguration, whenever he goes out, he wears the haori with the Hatake crest on and keeps his amended ID with his new surname on him just in case someone needs any more proof on why he has every right to wear the Hokage's family crest. He'll not take their shit anymore like before.
For the first time in his life Naruto likes it that people are avoiding him. He doesn't even care anymore that it seems like they're forced to sell him things. Kakashi-sensei is his legal alpha and father, and everybody will know it.
"Naruto!"
The omega turns to the voice, and sees Shikamaru coming toward him, with Kiba right behind him. "Hey!" he waves.
He's on the street of the tower and is enjoying looking around the busy shops.
"What are you doing out alone?" Shikamaru takes his shopping from him and leaves Naruto's tote with him, then takes the bag the vendor hands over. "Where's Sasuke?"
Shikamaru knows about the difficulties Naruto has been going through with this baby so he's one of the people who treats Naruto like glass.
"Sup, Naruto!" Kiba grins at him.
"Sasuke is with Kakashi-sensei this morning, and he'll come pick me up at noon. So I'm just loitering around looking at things," Naruto grins back, then hands his payment to the vendor. "Sorry I haven't seen anyone in a while. I'm not really supposed to be out,"
"Haven't seen you in ages! You're looking good!" says Kiba, seeing the Hatake crest on Naruto's back, and noticing how much bigger he'd gotten since the last time he saw him coming into the tower a few months ago. "Looks like Sasuke's finally treating you the way you deserve,"
"Kiba!" Naruto flushes.
"What?" Kiba snickers. "About time if you ask me,"
Shikamaru elbows him. "This is not just looking at things, Naruto," he says, referring to the shopping.
"Is too!" Naruto argues, "It's what we need at home!"
"Who needs this many tomatoes?" Kiba peeks into the bag from the vendor.
"Oh, those are for Sasuke. He likes them on everything," Naruto answers. "I'm just getting a little cabin fever and wanted to get out. What are you doing out of the tower, Shikamaru?"
"It's a miraculous day off, if you can believe it," Shikamaru breathes a sigh of relief. "Shizune-san and Sasuke can handle the hokage on their own for today,"
Naruto chuckles. "I'm sure the village can survive a day or two with the hokage missing one assistant," he cups his belly. "Will you help me look for a café to sit in with comfort rooms for the disabled? The baby is right on my bladder right now,"
"Right, you need to sit down, too," says Kiba, looking around and flickering off to dash through the busy street, then comes back a few moments later. "Found one ahead about a two minute walk off for you, is that okay?"
"Perfect! I'll wait for Sasuke there. You can go on ahead if you like. I am going to take more than just two minutes,"
"Of course not! We'll walk with you," says Shikamaru as he offers to and leads the way for Naruto, and they start their walk to the café.
"Oh, um, then please bear with me,"
"That's a scary looking haori, Naruto," says Shikamaru.
Naruto grins at him. "Kakashi-sensei offered so, it's now stuck on me,"
"I heard,"
"News spread like wildfire, dude," says Kiba, "Like you wouldn't believe. Pretty sure whoever was manning at the registry that day couldn't keep his mouth shut. Hokage-sama came in at sunrise and by noon literally everyone knew about it. That he was your new family alpha and you changed names,"
"It was kinda weird at first, having a new name, but I like it! My ANBU doesn't want to call me by my name though, it's exhausting,"
"Huh? What do they call you?" Kiba asks.
Shikamaru snickers. "O-musuko-sama,"
"WHAT?" exclaims Kiba.
"Stop it!" Naruto swats at Shikamaru's arm. "People already avoid me, don't let them call me that, too, since they're scared of Kakashi-sensei!"
Kiba cackles.
Naruto takes Kiba's arm. "Slow down," he says, cupping his belly and pulling Kiba back to slow him down, "I can't walk that fast, my feet and back hurt,"
"What?" Kiba suddenly feels like he wants to howl, giddy about Naruto's gentle hand on his arm. Then he notices the way there's heaviness in Naruto's gait. "Why didn't you say so? Do you want me to go get Akamaru to carry you? Or we could've just carried you to the café!"
"Don't!" Naruto hurries to say before Kiba can touch him. He tries to think of an excuse. Seeing him with other alphas already will again start the rumor mill. "I don't think the ANBU would allow that, and I don't want to get into trouble,"
"Isn't what trouble you're known for?" says Kiba with a smirk.
Naruto pinches his ear. "You think I want to get into trouble at seven and a half months pregnant, dog breath?"
"Okay, okay! Let me go!"
"Hmph!" Naruto lets go of Kiba's ear and latches onto Shikamaru's arm.
Shikamaru smirks at Kiba, who frowns at him as he rubs the throbbing ear.
"Ah, finally," says Naruto when they get to the café. "Kami, I need the comfort room. I'm going to burst,"
Shikamaru settles the shopping at a free table near a window so Sasuke can find them, and Kiba ushers Naruto to the toilets.
Naruto is relieved to see the bars for assistance, but groans. "Ugh, this is easier with Sasuke," he closes the door and locks it.
Kiba wonders what Naruto means when he joins Shikamaru at the table.
"I got you black coffee and caramel cake," says Shikamaru, "And I got a latte. Don't want them to think we only went in here so Naruto can take a leak,"
"Thanks," Kiba exhales. "Uchiha's really settled Naruto in, huh?"
"He's really working hard, you know?" Shikamaru leans on the back of the chair, looking over at the counter to see if their order's being assembled. "Shizune-san mentioned his application for a union and a new koseki got held up by the Godaime, so he's going to have to go through Kakashi for it now,"
"A union?" Kiba frowns, "This fast? Didn't he just get back?"
"Yeah, but Naruto's already pregnant, so what's the point of dragging it out? And you know how long he's been waiting,"
"Unions for clan members are a big thing, you know that. This isn't the way it's supposed to go. You've got the courtship—that's not a three month thing!"
"Keep your voice down, idiot," Shikamaru tells him. "Yes, of course I know; we're both clan kids. Sasuke is a clan kid. But why do you think his application was put on hold? The Godaime is a clan child, too, so is the Rokudaime,"
Kiba huffs as he watches a waitress approach, then set their orders down before them. "Sometimes, I wish I hadn't been such a coward," He too leans back on the chair and crosses his arms to express his frustration with himself.
"I don't think anyone would've lived up to Sasuke anyway," Shikamaru absently stirs the ice in his coffee with the straw. He, too, has regrets.
"Hey, sorry about taking too long," Naruto arrives at their table.
Shikamaru rushes to get up, which confuses Kiba, until he sees him help Naruto with his own weight and ease him down onto a chair, the way he's seen Kakashi, Iruka, and Sasuke do all the time. "Good?"
The pregnant omega breathes in relief to be off his feet and rubs his belly. "Un!" answers Naruto, "Thank you. Don't think my back and hips can take any more walking right now,"
The same waitress comes over with a menu for Naruto.
"Ah, I'd like," Naruto bites his lips as he peruses the drinks menu. "The small iced wakoucha milk tea, hard press, please,"
"No cake?" asks Kiba as he takes a forkful of his caramel cake.
"I actually have been eating too much cake, and I'm trying to cut that down since what I eat, the baby eats. That's not too good and what if they grow too big and I can't push them out?" he frowns, looking longingly at Kiba's cake.
"Then why not just get cake?" Shikamaru chuckles.
Naruto pouts. "And I've gained so much weight already!"
"What?" Kiba narrows his eyes at him and takes a good look at him, wondering where the weight actually is, when Naruto looked… like himself. "You look fine!"
The omega sighs. "And I can't eat much either, even if I wanted to. My belly gets too heavy, so Sasuke watches what I eat, and you know how sharp Uchiha eyes are," he gasps and then smiles when the waitress comes over with his drink. "Thank you," he says excitedly, then takes a big sip of the cold, refreshing drink.
Both alphas grow uncomfortable with the moan Naruto makes. Naruto can't help it. Shikamaru and Kiba look away for the few seconds that Naruto is sipping his drink.
"Ah, that's so good," Naruto says, then takes another sip to get more of the chewy black pearls at the bottom.
"You really shouldn't be out walking alone, Naruto," Shikamaru tells him.
"I'm not that alone," Naruto argues lightly. "I have my ANBU,"
"But it's better if you have Sasuke with you, or someone you know,"
They end up talking about many things, and Kiba and Shikamaru order more things and Naruto declines, even though he really wants a slice of shortcake.
Sasuke doesn't like what he sees. He's glad Naruto is again spending time with friends and laughing and smiling, but that doesn't mean he has to like it, especially when said friends are alphas.
Even as children, Naruto was surrounded by alphas, him included. Drawn to him not just because he's an omega, but a beautiful person. Sasuke hated it. At the time he didn't know why he hated it, but he did, just like how he hates it that alphas who aren't him and Kakashi are keeping Naruto company.
He wants to take Naruto away from them, keep him all to himself.
The bell at the door sounds and Sasuke enters the café.
"Sasuke!"
The way Naruto brightens up when he sees him is something Sasuke will never tire of.
He gives Kiba and Shikamaru a nod in lieu of a greeting.
Naruto lets out a snicker-giggle, genuinely elated to see his mate. "Otsukare," Good job today. He reaches for him and Sasuke bends over to receive the kiss to his cheek. "I got you a no sugar green tea latte to go," he gestures to the takeout container on the table.
"Do you want to stay a little longer?" Sasuke asks, pushing aside the green monster called jealousy, just for a moment, for Naruto. "You're not supposed to be out this long though,"
"I can go get Akamaru for you if it's difficult to walk," Kiba offers again.
"I'd like to go home," says Naruto guiltily, the morning catching up with him. "I'm kind of tired, and a nap would be really nice. Sorry Kiba, Shikamaru. And no need for Akamaru. I don't want to impose,"
"Guess I'll see you around?" says Kiba because it's Shikamaru who will see Naruto more often.
"Yep!" Naruto plants his hand firmly on the table, and lets Sasuke haul him up from the seat. "It was great seeing you. We'll have tea and cake again, okay?"
Sasuke takes the shopping from Shikamaru and takes Naruto home.
Naruto latches on Sasuke's arm, different from the way he held onto Shikamaru and Kiba earlier. Closer, like Naruto's sticking his entire body to Sasuke's arm.
"See, I told you, no one can live up to him," Shikamaru sighs.
Kiba groans. He wants Naruto to on his arm like that. He just knows Sasuke is smug about having Naruto so close like that, and if he had two arms, he'd have the other on Naruto's waist, too.
"You're thinking too loud, idiot," Shikamaru kicks Kiba's shin under the table. "Keep in mind Sasuke can kill you by just looking at you,"
"Yeah, yeah," Kiba sighs.
A few days later, Naruto declines lunch and says he isn't feeling too well, feeling nauseated and bloated as pregnant person can feel, and tries to take a nap. A little later, Naruto's already crying from the pain in his stomach but doesn't want to go to the hospital. Sasuke rushes out to fetch Tsunade running as fast as he can, jumping over rooftops, also scared out of his mind. He portals her to the apartment to not waste any more time.
Naruto is sobbing and begging for her when she arrives. Tsunade tells Sasuke to stay out of the room until she calls for him.
"Fix me, Baa-chan!" Sasuke hears him cry from outside their room, the door slightly ajar. "Fix me, please!"
He's thinking about disregarding Tsunade's instructions and is about to enter, but Naruto's next words make him freeze.
"Please! It hurts and it keeps happening and I'm sorry I'm not good enough, but please fix me! I can't…! I'm an omega! I'm made for this! My body is supposed to be made for babies!"
Sasuke's hand hovers over the doorknob.
"I don't want to be just a weapon, Baa-chan," Naruto sobs, "I want to be a good omega, a good mate, a good mama… so please! I have to be good!" he lets out a sharp breath and a prolonged groan. "Or he'll leave me! Baa-chan, Sasuke's going to leave me if I'm not good, so please… fix me… keep him in! Don't let me lose Sasuke's baby!"
Sasuke waits seated on the sofa, the overflowing nerves bouncing a knee.
Tsunade emerges from the room sometime later.
"Is he okay?"
"Trapped wind," she sighs. "He and the child are fine. It can be uncomfortable at best and extremely painful like that at the worst. I put him to sleep to calm him and he'll wake in a while. It'll pass and he'll be able to eat properly by tonight. He probably thought he was going into premature labor,"
"Is there a way to prevent it?"
"What did he eat for breakfast?"
"We had… fish, and miso with wakame and I let him have some some udon in it, some 50 grams or so," (a)
"Did he have rice?"
"No, he didn't have any room,"
Tsunade hums. "He may have inhaled too much air with those noodles, and that's what causes the trapped wind. For a non-pregnant person that wouldn't be too much of a problem and most pass it easily, but the baby is putting pressure on his organs and that causes slower digestion, and wind to be trapped. Avoid noodles for now and have rice instead, eat slowly, cool down anything too hot to avoid slurping, and continue with small but frequent meals. Soft food but doesn't necessarily mean porridge. Avoid heavy meats for now to help him digest properly,"
"Hai," Sasuke nods, unable to help the sigh of relief that escapes him. "Thank you,"
"I'm assuming you heard everything?"
Sasuke bites and he tenses. "Yes,"
"Uchiha, I know this is difficult for you, too. But for the longest time, Naruto's worth was reduced to nothing because he's the Kyuubi jinchuuriki, then measured by his service as a shinobi, and then now, his capabilities as an omega. It's difficult to grow out of that, especially when his own worth to you, he measures by how much he can give you as your mate,"
Give? Naruto's already given Sasuke more than he ever deserves. Naruto's time, his loyalty, his love, his devotion, a semblance of a normal life. His own self. "That's not important," Sasuke says, "I've already told him that whatever happens, it's never going to be his fault,"
"When he told you there's another path you could take other than the path you chose to walk, did you believe him?"
The alpha sighs. "No,"
"This is just the same. It took you a long time to see what Naruto saw for you, and it will take time for Naruto to see his own worth the way you see it,"
When Naruto wakes, he smiles when he sees Sasuke beside him, reading a book. He grins then giggles at his mate. "My alpha is so handsome,"
Sasuke gives him a fond smile. It makes his instincts purr, for his omega to refer to him as his alpha. He always hears that compliment from everyone, but the only compliment that he thinks is genuine is Naruto's. "How are you feeling?"
"Little hungry," Naruto yawns.
"Does it still hurt?"
Naruto's brows meet, puts a hand over his belly, and he bites his lip, as if he's gauging the state of his body. "Shira… nai. Onaka ga… hen na kanji suru 'ttebayo," I don't know. My belly feels… strange.
"Not bloated, or cramping?"
"Umm…" Naruto gasps. "He's moving!" relieved, he relaxes back into his pillow. "He's moving, Sasuke,"
Sasuke's glad they're both okay.
They move into the new house a week after Kakashi's inauguration. Kakashi and Iruka have to henge themselves to be able to visit the Uchiha property since the celebrations of the newly installed Hokage are still high. And because even though Iruka knows Kakashi is popular since of course his alpha is a looker, he didn't know just how much until civilians started to squeal every time Kakashi pokes his head out of the Hokage tower's window, where outside there are waiting, adoring, and rabid fans.
They drop the henge inside the gates and start sealing and warding every inch of the gated premises and the house with Sasuke. Naruto watches them working, memorizing the hand signs so that he knows how to do it himself in the future. Sasuke makes a small cut on Naruto's left thumb, brushes his blood on the gates and the walls. Sasuke, Kakashi, and Iruka do the same, then make a few more hand signs. All three of them feel the lively hum of chakra on the walls, designed tightly to protect all who live within them. With a few more hand signs, Sasuke connects Kaede's seal to work with the wards without having to offer her blood to the walls.
"Kaede-san, this is Naruto, my mate," says Sasuke when he introduces her. "Naruto, Kaede-san will be taking care of us,"
"Hajimemashite, Kaede-san," Nice to meet you, says Naruto with a bow, as low as his belly would allow him. "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu," I'll be in your care.
Kaede bows back. "I'll do my best, Naruto-sama,"
Later, when the introductions to Kakashi and Iruka are done (Kaede sort of freezes at the sight of the Hokage and the Shinobi academy's headmaster—never did she think that she'd ever meet such prominent figures), Sasuke brings Naruto in for a tour while Kaede serves Kakashi and Iruka tea at the kotatsu.
"Sasuke!" Naruto can't help but grin as he looks around, visiting every one of the three furnished rooms. "It's so pretty! How did you do this!"
"With a little persuasion," he follows him into the master bedroom. "This will be our room since this has an ensuite bathroom,"
Naruto gasps at the sight of the crib he bought and the dresser near it. On top of the dresser is a changing station, and another tiered shelf with drawers to keep more baby things. "The baby will sleep with us!"
"Of course," says Sasuke, "He needs us near, doesn't he? When he's old enough, we'll fix up the room next to this,"
"Who got all this stuff?" Naruto asks, rummaging through the drawers of clothes (with the crest!), the shelves of diapers and tissues, and cabinets full of baby bottles.
"Kaede-san did. I instructed her to furnish the house as best as she can. She's raised children already, so she knows what we would need. I thought it'd be easier for you this way since walking is too much on you if we had to go shopping ourselves,"
"She's so nice, Sasuke—" he gasps again when Sasuke opens the doors to the engawa. "A yard! Sasuke, please, I want a garden! Please?" He says as he looks out the open doors, taking in the fresh breeze and the greenery. "With tomato plants!"
Sasuke chuckles. "Tomato plants?"
"Yeah!" The omega grins at him. "So I can harvest your favorite and we can make you all the tomato dishes! It'd be so nice to be growing our own food! Because we're so far from the market but also because it'd be fun!"
"Then we'll go get some seeds for you," Sasuke finds himself unable to deny Naruto anything. Except maybe those darn ramen cups.
Giddy, Naruto hugs him from the side, grinning from ear to ear from the excitement of having their own home. He pulls Sasuke down peppers the alpha's cheek with kisses. "I love you, I love you, I love you!"
"I love you, too," Sasuke noses Naruto's hair, breathing in his mate's calming scent. "I'm glad you like the house,"
"We finally have a home,"
"We do, but if I have to be honest," Sasuke pulls Naruto closer to him, "I've always had a home. You said it so yourself. I'll always have you to come home to,"
Kakashi makes Sasuke go through the chuunin exams.
Sasuke officially becomes the 3rd assistant to the Hokage with his promotion.
Naruto thinks 'Chuunin Uchiha' is so hot and tries to tease Sasuke whenever possible.
On the night Sasuke ranks up, Sasuke knots Naruto's thighs, and Naruto cums with Sasuke's cock pressed against his clit, the knot spreading the lips of this cunt apart.
When Naruto is at 33 weeks, Sasuke goes to the jewelers to buy rings, and the seamster to have some good quality ready to wear formal kimono set, with a hakama altered for a late stage pregnancy, embroidered with the Uchiha crest.
A clan courtmate who intends to go through with the marriage can prove to their courtmate their intentions by letting them wear the clan crest with the permission of the Clan Head.
He returns to the seamster a few days later, takes the boxes home, and hides them in a closet that Naruto doesn't look into. Then goes back a few days later to the seamster and orders more clothes with the Uchiha crest sewn onto them.
Then before he clocks out at noon, he hands over his registry papers to Kakashi, who shoves it in his drawer before sending Sasuke back home.
At 34 weeks, Naruto's just about used to the new house. It's refreshing, seeing the Uchiha crest so bright and new, decorating the gates into the property. They have land of their own.
Sasuke had only visited the property once during its repair, inspecting for about half an hour before declaring that everything is good and that they can continue. Kaede actually enjoyed furnishing the home. Sasuke is thankful for her help and gifts her some groceries for her home enough for a month and extra cash for a bonus.
They moved in about two weeks ago, a few days after Kakashi's inauguration, contradicting what Tsunade claimed of 6 months from two months ago, so Sasuke is busy as his third assistant. Not that Kakashi actually needs an assistant for anything, but this is the first month as Hokage, everything will be hectic so everyone should be all hands on deck. And even if Kakashi is a genius, he'd never be able to sort through that mountain of documents on his own.
"You're sure?" Sasuke asks again as Naruto fixes his bag on his shoulder, brushing away any invisible lint from his coat.
"Very sure," answers Naruto. "Kakashi-sensei has a lot to pick up on and he needs you,"
Sasuke scoffs. They'd been reviewing for weeks. "He doesn't need me or Shizune-san. He can do it on his own," he actually couldn't care less about this village, but his mate's father is the Hokage, and his mate wants to be the Hokage, so he might as well give a shit, even if a little.
"Even so!" says Naruto, "As an assistant myself, I know the troubles. Kakashi-sensei will appreciate your help,"
"Hnn," the Uchiha grumbles. "You need my help more. You're nearly there,"
"We still have a few more weeks," Naruto pats his belly, which is enormous and stretched almost to its limit, five days into his 34th week. "Besides, you're a part-timer. If I take a nap, you'll be back by the time I wake up," he grins at his mate, stroking the stretched skin.
"Fine," Sasuke concedes. "I'll be back at 12 sharp,"
"Have a good day, teme," Naruto gives Sasuke a kiss to his cheek. "Love you,"
"Love you, too, usuratonkachi. Ittekuru,"
"Itterasshai,"
Naruto groans as he lowers himself down on the sofa. This Uchiha child is too heavy for him now, and he's got some ways to go. There is no more space inside him for the baby. But so far, even though he'd rather have Sasuke around to help him up and down anything, he's glad to be able to do it without getting cramps enough to reduce him to tears or breaking into pouring sweat.
"Ohayou goizaimasu, Naruto-sama,"
Naruto sees Kaede enter the living area and set a tray of tea down on the coffee table.
"Kaede-san, ohayou,"
He's told her to drop the -sama, but she insists. Naruto guesses it's because she served Sasuke's family before, or because he intimidates her now, or because she's so impressed or awed that the one of the Uchiha children she used to serve in the background is now the head of the family. So he lets her say it, even though he doesn't think either of them are in any way above her, but doesn't let her do all the housework alone. Well, at least not all of it since Naruto can't get himself off the sofa most days. She also does a lot of the shopping, sometimes Sasuke goes with her if there's something particular either of them wants.
"Uchiha-sama let me in earlier this morning," she says, handing the glass to Naruto. "Would you like me to prepare lunch?"
And she doesn't say Sasuke's name. It kinda weirds Naruto out. Then again, he doesn't know anything about hierarchy in a grand/prominent house or clan like Sasuke's.
The very pregnant omega takes a refreshing glug of the cold oolong tea. "That's so good! Thank you, Kaede-san. And oh, that's okay. I'll help myself later. I just need to be off my feet a while and my back is killing me," his lower back and hips have been uncomfortable for some time now, but Tsunade looked at him over and said they're mostly false contractions, preparing his body for the real thing. The false contractions are less intense than what he had that night Sasuke rushed him into the hospital.
She giggles. "You're due any day now. I hope Uchiha-sama can take time off for you,"
Naruto sighs. "His return has some conditions, though, so if they don't allow him to, I'd understand, but I do hope Kakashi-sensei can give Sasuke a few days off," he chuckles. He finishes the tea and hands the empty glass back to her. "Thank you again. Do you have anything you have to do today? Other than prepare lunch?"
"Yes," she answers, "I have the laundry to hang, and your sheets need changing. Uchiha-sama mentioned these were my tasks today,"
"Alright, so I'll take care of the food, and you just do your thing, okay? I'll ask for you if I need help,"
She nods. "I'll get back to the laundry," she bows before leaving.
The bowing, too! Naruto will have to ask her to cut it out.
Naruto ends up napping for about an hour on the couch, then gets up to make some crab and spicy mayo onigiri for when Sasuke gets home, and then he makes himself some rice noodles with veggies and some left-over stir-fried beef for lunch. He makes extra for Kaede and packs her some more to take home to her son.
He sets aside the food for later and decides to get into the shower.
"Kaede-san!" Naruto calls from the deck, as he watches her hang up the laundry. "I'll be in the tub, okay?"
"Hai!" she calls back. She drops what she's doing and follows Naruto into the house.
Naruto sheds his clothes, takes a shower, and gets into a bathrobe, cradling his belly as he waits for the tub to fill halfway with warm water. He groans, leaning on the sink. His back hurts so bad. He wished Sasuke were here to relieve the ache with a massage. But it's okay. Sasuke will be home soon. He can just stay in the tub for a while and maybe reread his birth plan.
Kaede comes in to help him into the water. When he's settled in the warmth of the bath, she bows. "Let me know if you need help,"
"Thank you, Kaede-san,"
She leaves and closes the door behind her.
He's taken to wearing his hair longer now, so when he dunks himself in the hot water it sticks to his forehead and his eyelids, and he combs it back with his fingers. He lays in the water, relaxing at how his body is temporarily relieved from the child's weight.
Naruto grins at himself, cradling his belly. He wants their children to be named after the seasons. This one is a boy, to be born in autumn. Uchiha Akihiko. They haven't told anybody the name yet. Akihiko's name is ready to be put in the Uchiha family registry. Sasuke called it an issue and Naruto doesn't understand why it's called that, only that it has something to do with Sasuke being a head of a prominent house, his heirs, and the legitimacy of his children.
"Aki-chan," he whispers. "Go easy on mama, ok?"
He's so excited to meet the baby. Dress him in the tiny clothes embroidered with the Uchiha crest. Present him to Kakashi because he's a part of the Hatake clan, too, just as Naruto was declared an heir, so will Akihiko. Present him to Tsunade-baa-chan because she's his grandmother, too. He wants Baa-chan to know her blood still runs, that Akihiko is just as much a Uzumaki like she and Naruto are, as he is an Uchiha, and a Hatake. He wants them to know they can gift him clothes bearing their crest. And he'll let Aki wear them.
Though Naruto was gifted kimono embroidered with the Hatake crest (he was so excited to wear it too!), he hasn't worn any clothes with the Uchiha crest yet. He doesn't want to disrespect Sasuke like that. He's not… if it's not in Sasuke's plans, then it isn't. He should be happy with what's given to him. He's loved, sheltered, fed, and safe. Akihiko has a papa who is there for him. Sasuke loves them. That's what matters. That will have to be enough.
Because Naruto will never ask. It's not something he knows how to do.
