Disclaimer: I don't own Sam or Dean, wish I could tho

Sam sat in the 4th lesson of the day, usually he would love school but this one was different, Dean wasn't around to keep him company during breaks. He had been asked to go on a hunt with their dad, leaving a 12 year old Sam to solo ride through the time they were there. "Sam, hello are you okay?" he was brought out of his deep thoughts by his history teacher trying to get his attention.

" Huh, oh uh sorry what did you say" Sam looked up confused, the class laughed at Sam for day dreaming, Not like they don't do it, Sam thought to himself blushing " Don't worry about it, I will talk to you at the end of class" Sighing Sam got through the rest of class hoping his teacher would forget about the little talk but luck was not on his side

"Right class, that's the bell, I want you to do the homework on the end of WW2 please, as clearly some people were not paying attention today, I want it done by tomorrow please, Sam please stay seated the rest of you can leave" Great here comes the, how are things at home Sam talk " Sam, I know you have only been here for 2 weeks, but I sense something is bothering you, is everything okay?" Nailed it, Sam chuckled to himself, but had to give credit to the teacher for caring

" Uh, yeah everything is fine Sir, you know how it is, new school, new rules, new people, it's all just a little overwhelming" it's not a complete lie, he was feeling overwhelmed, but not by school, he missed Dean, a-lot, it had been a few days since he called and Sam was worried something bad happened "Okay Sam, as long as you are okay, it's understandable feeling that way, especially starting so late into the school year, if you need anything please don't hesitate to talk to me"

Walking out Sam felt a wave of comfort knowing he had at least one person here, since starting people avoided him and teased him for being the small new kid ( he was yet to hit puberty, so was a lot shorter than his peers) he didn't want to tell Dean he was being bullied, it would only make him worry and distract him from the hunt, which in turn would piss his dad off.

Walking towards his locker he was approached by a few of his peers, most of them much taller than him "Hey Sam, you have a nice talk with sir?" Sam gave the scruffy looking lad a confused look " Uh, Yeah I guess" the group of lads laughed " We don't do teachers pets at this school, you not paying attention got us more homework, so you will do mine or face the consequences" Sam laughed "Really, what are you and your band of wannabe chavs going to do"

In a blink of an eye Sam was pinned up against the locker, the back of his head meeting the padlock hard " I will set my big brother on you, tell him you hit me or something, he is pretty protective of me and one upside to this small town is, middle and high school are in the same building so he's always around the corner, and he won't hesitate to break a few bones, regardless of you being 12, so do my homework or else" Sighing, not wanting the confrontation Sam agreed, he could easily take on the 12 year olds with his eyes shut, but again he did not need to cause any issues for his dad and Dean.

Rubbing the back of his head to ease the now dull headache Sam decided to skip Gym class and go home, 7th grade Gym was like going to the baby end of the swimming pool, Walking to the motel his dad set him up in, he tried calling Dean to distract him from the dull headache, for the third day in a row it went to answer phone. This sent Sam over the edge, he sat on his bed, pulling his knees up to his chest and sobbed, he really missed Dean and now felt more isolated than ever.

Curling up Sam sobbed himself to sleep, knowing that was the only place his mind could not make him feel this way, he totally forgot about the homework that was set, the homework he needed to do for the scruffy kid in his class. He was brought out of his deep slumber to his phone ringing, picking up with out checking the caller ID, Sam answered with a broken tone in his voice "Uh.. Hello" "Hey Sammy, It's me, are you okay?" It was Dean, and he had a worried undertone in his voice

"Dean!, you're okay", yes I am fine, sorry I was asleep" Dean sighed not believe Sam " Of course I am okay Sammy, sorry I have not been in touch, we were in the woods chasing this son of a bitch wear-wolf and my phone died, how has the new school been?

" okay I guess, bit lonely without you, but getting by I guess, When are you and Dad coming home Dean?" He wanted to tell Dean he was being threatened but didn't want to be a burden "Soon Sammy I promise, I got to go, Dad is calling me over, I will talk to you soon Sammy bye" Dean hung up and Sam sighed, "Yeah bye"

Looking at the time Sam cursed, he was late for school, rushing around and packing the normal Sam ran to school and made it just in time for the first bell to ring for class one, history, shit, homework, Sam's face paled as he was the scruffy kid walking towards him, "Oi, Sammy boi, where's my homework" Sam looked at the floor,

" I forgot, I am sorry" The kids face went red and shoved Sam to the floor, kicking him and walking off " Great now I will be suspended, that's my third strike, you are so dead" Sam got up and walked to class, the kick didn't hurt that much, he had worse, it just caught him of guard. for the rest of the day Sam tired to keep to himself, the kid got suspended for not doing his homework, so he knew he was in the shit, he got a strike himself and was not looking forward to the end of the day where he was sure to face the raft.

And he was right, once out the school gates, the kid was waiting with a tall older boy, who was covered in tattoos and smoking " That's him Taylor, he's the one that hit me and ripped my homework up" Sam looked up and tried to walk the other way, but was pulled back by his bag and shoved hard to the stoney ground. Sam looked at the younger one who now had a bruise on his left cheek, clearly self inflicted to look like Sam did it " So you think you can rock up to a new school and start bullying other kids and think you can get away with it?, well you are wrong you picked the wrong kid to bully"

Grabbing Sam by the shirt he dragged him behind a tree and ruffed him up, leaving bruises that sure would take time to heal, now he prayed Dean was away longer. "Come near my brother again and I will put you in hospital, you understand me?, and if you squeal, theres a nice grave yard over the road with a plot that has your name" Sam nodded and ran back to the hotel in pain.

A day later Dean and his dad had finished the hunt and made their way back to the motel Sam was in, it was a day ride and he was desperate to see Sam, he had an off feeling and wanted to be back to protect his brother, little did he know, Sam needed a lot of looking after this time, and Dean would never leave him alone again.
