The next morning he showed up at their door. As soon as they realised who it was they gripped him by the scruff of his neck and dragged him into the house. Vernon had shouted all sorts of obscenities at him, words which would make a drunken sailor blush. He had ranted and raved until he was blue in the face, and he looked like he was about to pass out. They had informed the police to call off the search. He was told that they would come round to ask him some questions.

He was given a stern talking to by them and when asked why he did it, Felix simply responded: "I was following a cat and got lost trying to find it."

This answer baffled them but given his history of "mental issues" and the runes around the house having a minute influence on the people inside they didn't question him further. He was then locked in his cupboard after the police had left and the Dursleys were sure that no one was watching them. After a few days, he took out his sceptre which he had hidden down his trousers. The fact that they were too big for his skinny frame aided him in concealing it. This was the one time he was grateful that the Dursleys gave him his cousin's hand-me-downs.

He used the sceptre to unlock the door and he stepped out. Just as he had intended his magic worked. His aunt said in a quite preoccupied and monotone voice. "What are you doing out?"

"You said I could" Felix replied with a smug smirk on his face.

"Oh is that right" she replied in a faraway voice before turning to the telly. Once Felix entered the living room he noticed that she was just staring at a blank screen. It wasn't even turned on. Felix would stay here for a year, he would spend that time studying and learning about the state of the world. The happenings of recent history. He would also try and find out what happened to magical people. A whole group of people don't just disappear without a trace, the myths and legends of history would give him a clue. Gaining a bit of wealth and learning about the economy wouldn't hurt either.

He would also have to remove the enchantment placed on the house before he left, otherwise, his relatives would become addled. Although he was tempted to just resign them to that fate after some deliberation he thought better of it. He would have a long year ahead of him.

Time skip

It was the 23rd of July 1991. Felix had spent the year learning about the world. He had gained much knowledge about recent history. The two world wars interested him the most. He had seen his fair share of battle, but never at such a scale. The weapons which the non-magical people created were truly terrifying. He had never heard of any archmage or warlock being able to produce such destruction which could compare to nuclear bombs. And the nuclear bombs had only advanced since then. This cold war which has been going on between the USA and USSR has only aided in the advancement of nuclear weapons. They even manage to send a man to the moon. Truly they had come far from ballistae and catapults. He was still no closer to finding out what had happened to the magical people. His knowledge was limited; he couldn't find much more in his local library. And school was not much help either, as the primary school could hardly be called a place of learning. They taught the very basics, and the teachers when pushed lacked the knowledge to answer some of his more "complex" questions. He had tried to further study the scar, but no matter what kind of spell or ritual he performed it wouldn't cleanse the taint or give any inclination as to what it is. He had given up and decided to focus his efforts on other areas. It hadn't done him any harm so far.

He had done all he had set out to do. He even managed to pick up some work at a butcher's shop. He convinced the butcher with a little bit of magic. He was working there after school and on Saturdays. The butcher's name was Alex. He also gave 1kg of fresh beef once a week. He was making £4 an hour which was a fair enough deal. He worked 30 hours a week. He had been working there since the start of September. He had gained some weight and his height shot up. He was now 144cm tall. He had also gotten stronger from his work at the butcher's. Overall physically he had drastically improved from before.

There was nothing more for him here. Felix had decided to leave in 3 days. He was going to spend the next few days preparing. He had quit his job the day before. Stating that his workload from high school would increase next year.

He had brought himself some better clothes ones that fit him. He had decided to move into Dudley's second room. The one in which he put all his toys which lost interest in. The Dursleys didn't or rather couldn't put up much protest beyond a few words and questions. He had spent the first week after moving in selling most of the stuff in here. He had gotten a good £120 from it. The broken toys which couldn't be sold he threw away. He kept Dudley's racing bike. It was in relatively good condition he brought a bike lock for it and used it to get around. It was quite fun. If only they had one of these during his first life. It made commuting to work and school much faster and less tedious.

He brought himself a large hiking backpack which he had packed ready with his clothes, a couple of books, some emergency rations and a map of England as well as a book on the train and bus times in London. And his money. He had £30000 at his disposal. He had placed the money securely at the bottom of the bag. And he had enchanted it to only open for him and would make it very durable, nothing short of a bullet would be able to penetrate the fabric. It also had some runes woven into it which would allow Felix to track its position.

After he finished preparing his equipment, it was 9 pm. He decided to sleep earlier than he usually did, normally he would be up till 11 or 12. These next two days would be a well-deserved break. During this year he was always doing something, if not at work then at school if not there then at the library. He would practise magic once a week on Sundays in the druid's grove. He didn't dive into anything too complex and mostly stuck to basic spells. He had repaired his glasses and enchanted them to make them very durable. His spell and enchantments had increased in power and potency with the use of his sceptre. He had also practised Occlumency giving him better control of his mind, he had created some basic shields but he couldn't remember how to advance further. Some of the finer details of his original memories had become clearer but most stayed as they were. The belladonna which was placed on the end of the sceptre had grown. It grew a handful of stems which wrapped around the sceptre from the tip to the base. At the tip where the oval of branches was, a couple of flowers had begun to bloom.

Truly he had come far. He closed his eyes and let sleep take him. Felix woke up to a sunny morning. He opened his window to hear the birdsong and to let some fresh air in. He got changed and performed his morning ablutions before heading downstairs. There was the Dursley family eating breakfast. Petunia had made breakfast for the 3 of them. They sat eating. No one spoke a word. They were like mindless drones, just going through the motions of day-to-day life. Pretty soon that's all they will be able to do Felix had decided to remove the runes around the house tonight.

He made some breakfast for himself. Even though they weren't outright hostile toward him, the Dursley still didn't do anything for him. They just pretended he didn't exist. His breakfast was a simple affair. Just some buttered toast with strawberry jam. After eating he made his way to the front door and he planned to go out and enjoy the summer weather. Just before he was about to leave the post came through the letterbox. He decided to take it back into the living room if he didn't it would still be on the floor when he came back. Out of curiosity, Felix read through the mail before placing it on the living room table. He needed to be aware if anything important came up like bills. As he was reading dismissing most of the letter from Marge and other unimportant things. He came across a letter, which was addressed to him. Harry Potter the second room upstairs. 4 privet drive. Little whinging.

Felix was perplexed he had never received any mail. looking through all of Harry's memories not once was any mail addressed to him. The letter was made from a much thicker material than the others. It resembled parchment. It was used during his original life along with papyrus although that wasn't very common in England. There was a seal in the bottom left corner of the letter. It had a coat of arms. Which had a lion snake badger and raven with the letter H in the middle of the coat of arms. Written above was HOGWARTS. Below there seemed to be something written in Latin. He was thankful that his old master forced him to learn the language. It read Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus, never tickle a sleeping dragon. "How amusing," He thought. He opened the letter and read its contents.

Felix was perplexed; he had constantly been searching for any sign of magical people, but his searches hadn't been fruitful. Now the knowledge he so desperately sought had fallen right into his lap. A school of magic. How interesting, in his time he had never come across such a place.

He had concluded that they had only contacted him now because he was about to turn 11. The age at which the magical core grows and expands, making magic much easier to perform. Felix had noticed in the past few weeks his magical core had been increasing in size along with his magical reserves. He didn't know how much of that was because his 11th birthday was drawing near or if it was because of his constant practice. The connections through his body began to widen allowing the magic to flow a little bit easier. He took out the list which had come with the letter and read its contents.

After reading he wondered how he would get this equipment or how he would get to the school. Felix supposed that a letter would suffice. With magic, he was sure that the letter would reach this school just like they reach him. He started to write a letter to this deputy headmistress.

Dear Ms McGonagall

I would like to ask where I must go to obtain these school supplies. Furthermore, where is the location of Hogwarts and how am I to reach it? Thank you for your help regarding this matter.

Kind regards,

Harry Potter.

He sealed the letter and went outside to take it to the post office. When he noticed a barn owl sitting on top of Vernon's car. This was a strange occurrence made even stranger when Felix noticed how magic seemed to hang around the owl. He concluded that this wasn't a regular owl. It seemed to eye his letter, and Felix theorised that this was how the school sent its letters. He reached out his hand with the letter in it. The owl snatched the letter in its talons while it took off.

Now all he had to do was wait. This was an interesting turn of events.
