ONE-SHOT

...

"I'll give you whatever you want just, please stop!" A pained voice begged. Its owner was pinned down to the ground with a tremendous weight sitting on his back. It was getting harder to breathe, and he could swear something deep within himself had been ruptured or broken if the iron he tasted in his mouth was anything to go by.

"Kyahahaha! Do you hear that Naruto? He wants us to stop." A feminine voice mocked. Sitting on the pained man's back crisscrossed was a tall young woman with short blonde hair and bright green eyes. She wore a yellow and orange hat, as well as a yellow dress with a lemon-like pattern, lemon earrings, and white high-heeled shoes.

As odd as it appeared she was the sole source of the pinned down man's discomfort and despite his superior height and burly build he just couldn't shake her off. Try as he might she wouldn't budge; she was simply too damn heavy. She wasn't even fat so how the hell was this possible? Was she a devil-fruit user?

She wacked him in the head with the parasol she'd been carrying as her partner looked on with his arms crossed. Naruto was a tall man with short blonde hair and sky-blue eyes, with three whisker-like birthmarks adorning his cheeks. He wore a black uniform jacket with an orange zipper and buttons on the neck and sleeves, complete with a hood. He also had on a pair of orange cargo pants and black shinobi-like boot sandals.

"I heard him Val, but the boss gave us clear instructions." Naruto replied to his fellow blonde. Mikita, better known as Miss Valentine, was an agent of Baroque Works like himself and was usually paired with Mister 5, but he was currently out of action with a broken... everything after getting into a really bad bar fight. Because of this and because he didn't have a partner himself, they were paired together, though they were friends long before.

"Yeah, I know. Plug the leak and eliminate of the nuisance." Mikita smiled before looking down at the terrified man whose eyes were still pleading. "Sorry, whatever your name is, but things aren't looking too good for you."

The man's eyes widened as when he heard the woman speak. He shook his head furiously as he continued to plead for his life. "No! No! Please! Don't do this, I'll... I'll-"

"You'll what?" Naruto asked, knowing full well there was nothing the man could actually do to weasel his way out of this situation. There was nothing he could offer them of equal value in exchange for his life. Besides, he and Mikita had an a-hundred percent mission completion record, and he wasn't going to tarnish that for a lowlife spy.

As if by fate the wind started to pick up. To anyone else that would've been nothing but to Miss Valentine it was everything. "I guess that's my cue, huh?"

"Yep." Naruto answered as he placed his hands into his pockets. He strode up the doomed spy and held his head down with his foot. "Go on, I'll make sure this guy doesn't go anywhere."

"You'd better." She smirked before unfolding her parasol. Rapidly the spy felt all the pressure resting on his spine lessen. The woman who felt like she weighed a ton suddenly felt as light as a feather and very soon he felt her vanish from his back entirely. He felt relieved for a moment but only just for a moment. He tried to move his body and managed to shift his leg before he was left seeing stars.

Naruto saw what he was about to do and cut him off before he could even attempt to flee. He stomped the man's cranium hard and left his legs feeling like jelly. He also felt as if he may actually vomit even though he hadn't consumed any food. Was he concussed?!

"I told Val I'd make sure you didn't go anywhere. Please don't try and make a liar out of me." The whisker-faced blonde commented. He looked skyward to see his partner traveling higher and higher into the sky, carried there by a sudden act of mother nature. It was as if the weather itself worked for Baroque Works as well. Naruto turned his attention back to the stunned man and flipped him over to he could get a view as well.

Once his eyes re-adjusted, he could finally see the woman from before ascending high into the heavens above. She was a devil-fruit user, and she was traveling onward and upward via the wind. What... what was she going to do up there? If he'd been paying closer attention, he would've noticed the blonde on the ground taking a few cautious steps back.

Mikita meanwhile was so high in the sky she had a pretty good bird's eye view of the surrounding area. She could see the river that ran through the forest they were in and the town a little way off in the distance. More importantly she could see her target on the ground and her partner taking a few steps back.

'Perfect, I think this is high enough." She spoke to herself. "With my Kilo-Kilo Fruit power, I'm going to bury that stupid little spy into the ground. I'm able to change my body weight at will and right now I'm light enough to be carried by the wind! But now... it's time to get heavy!"

2 kilograms...

3 kilograms...

It started slowly, and gravity began to take effect as the kilos started to pile on. Mikita was positioned directly over the spy and losing altitude fast. Like a bomb being dropped from a plane she fell and the more weight she added on the faster her descent became.

5 kilograms...

10 kilograms...

Naruto watched her fall with a look of quiet calm on his face. Despite a fall from such a height he knew she'd be fine upon impact. That was something her devil-fruit provided her with, enhanced durability. If she wasn't so sturdy, then she would've been splattered across the ground. He shuttered at the thought.

100 kilograms...

1000 kilograms...

The target of the ariel assault was wide-eyed in terror. He wanted nothing more than to desperately move out of the way, but his limbs simply wouldn't respond. The blonde man had injured his head and his body wouldn't obey. He was going to die. He was going to be crushed to death by the she-devil falling from the sky.

10,000 kilograms...

Time seemed to almost move in slow motion for the man who was dead to rights. There was nothing he could do to save himself and no one was nearby who could or even would save him. He was doomed and all because he was paid off to spy and leak information about Baroque Works. He wasn't anyone special, just a guy who wanted to make a huge profit. The promise of a big payday wasn't worth all this. If only he knew that before he said yes to the job. Damn that Miss Wednesday!

Time resumed and the spy let out one hearty scream before Miss Valentine came down upon him with all the force of a massive explosion. Fortunately for him he was killed instantly from his bones and organs being flattened into paste before his pain receptors could respond.

Naruto looked on as the ground was blown apart and a large crater was left behind in Mikita's wake. Dirt and debris flew everywhere, and a thick dust cloud shot into the air. The blonde agent covered his eyes with his arm to protect from earth shards and slowly made his way to the base of broken earth. There was no way the spy could've survived that attack and if he did then... well, he probably wishes he was dead.

The started to clear and down below he could make out a figure sitting on the ground. When the smokescreen finally dissipated, he could see his partner looking no worse for wear sitting on the ground, spread out with a smile on her face and open parasol in hand. The spy however, Naruto winced, he didn't look so good. For one his entire torso had been flattened like putty and there was a pool of red falling from his mouth. His eyes were lifeless too, just two white sockets with no pupils to speak of. Honestly, it was amazing that any part of his body was intact at all. Chalk that up to his bulging muscles.

Naruto didn't want to dwell on the sight of the spy for too long and instead chose to focus on his fellow agent. "Did it hurt?"

"Did what hurt?" She asked already knowing what he was about to say.

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" He finished despite how cheesy and cringe his words sounded.

"Kyahahaha! Never change Naruto, never change." Mikita giggled before folding up her parasol. "Do you mind giving me a hand?"

Naruto couldn't help but smile and jumped down into the crater in front of the yellow-clad woman. She extended her hand, and he grabbed it to pull her up, only to realize that she still weighed ten-thousand kilograms. He playfully rolled his eyes as she'd done this to prank him a few times in the past. This time there was no mud to drag him down into.

"Very funny." He continued to smile as he playfully rolled his eyes. Mikita lightened herself allowed her partner to help her to her feet. "Now that this guy is dealt with, we should head back into town and report back that the job's done."

"I guess you're right." The green-eyed woman sighed before leaning onto her partner. "I don't feel like walking. Carry me, please."

Naruto shook his head but wasn't the least bit annoyed. "Fine, but only because I like you. I wouldn't do this for just anyone, ya know."

Miss Valentine let out a surprised yelp when her fellow blonde literally swept her off her feet. She blushed slightly when she realized he was carrying her bridal style out of the crater she'd made. It wasn't the first time he'd done such a thing and probably wouldn't be the last since it always seemed to surprise her when he did so.

They reached the base of the crater and with her head pressed against Naruto's chest she could feel the gentle rhythm of his heartbeat. She felt content and safe in his arms and the sound was enough to make her feel sleepy the longer he walked. Before she knew it, she'd dozed off and let out a light snore that her partner found cute. Before Baroque Works it was just the two of them and they treasured the moments they shared together.

"You rest up, I'll wake you when we get there." He whispered. She couldn't see it now in dreamland, but he was blushing too.

END...?

Author's Notes: I was inspired to wright this after reading some of Boundless Opportunity by Helghy. I don't know if I'll add more to this but for now it'll remain just a one-shot. Let me know what you all think. Also please forgive me if there were any inaccuracies from the One-Piece side, I haven't sat down to watch the show or read the manga in a pretty long time.
