Fantasy

A/N Ok, I recently found this Slexie deleted scene from S5E22 that I am adapting here. It's on YouTube but I don't know why they deleted it cos it's so cute.

Seattle Grace Hospital, Seattle, WA 2009 - S5E22

"Dr Grey?" Mark said as he passed her in the hallway. She knew what he was implying from the tone in his voice. He was thinking about her with significantly less clothing on. So she followed him inconspicuously until they found an on-call room. They passed plenty of people with the gentle rouse of heated conversation, but the look in their eyes eluded to something slightly differently.

Mark shut the door and whipped his lab coat off, throwing it onto the chair tucked neatly under a desk. This room was normally used for residents obsessively studying for their boards but Mark had pigeon-holed it on a few occasions as the best place for secret afternoon sex. Plus with the desk and everything it gave off a fancier vibe, like he really cared about class when he was making a move. "You ready for this?" Lexie nodded enthusiastically and pulled his scrub top over his head. It lay in an abandoned pile on the floor as she gripped the back of his neck and pulled him into a McSteamy kiss.

Afterwards, she lay as his little spoon trying to convince herself to get up. It was the day of the wedding and there was probably some sister-helping she was supposed to be doing. She slapped his thigh playfully and hauled herself up so she was sitting beside him. She picked up his top and threw it at him. He laughed and said "hey, quit it with the violence!"

She laughed and threw her own scrubs over her head. "I need to go."

"No, don't go yet. Come back here," he replied grabbing for her hand and missing. She took a step backwards and fell back into his lap.

"Whoops." She said chuckling as she pressed her lips to his. "So what's the plan here? Just keep me locked up so you can have me whenever you want? Or is it to lure me into your den so I'll never want to leave?" She continued, enjoying the smug smile creeping over his lips.

"Yeah that's it. Keep you locked up so you're all mine. Forever."

She kissed him again, and again, lightly pushing against his chest to try and drag herself away. "I have to go... Save Lives." She said trying to mentally prise herself away first, but it wasn't working. Then her pager went off, "I'm a life saver," she said before picking herself up and rescuing her lab coat from the chair. She left him lying on the cot stretching, his beautiful muscles up by his head like a baby. He was a big baby sometimes. All needy and attention-seeking, but then again she was young and he was a fully grown man who wanted to make out at work. Who was she to argue with that? It was perfect. He was perfect, all hair and eyes. She thought about all the parts of him she enjoyed (visually and sexually) as she walked down the hall to her patient.

It wasn't until about an hour later that Meredith pointed out she was wearing a lab coat two sizes too big. She pointed it out at the nurses' station and Lexie couldn't help but blush. Then she checked the name label and sure enough, she'd been walking around with Dr Mark Sloan written on her for the last hour. Had he noticed yet? Was he still lying in that on-call room? AHHH! She thought, and then she smiled to herself because she had been wearing a little piece of him. Like when her dad used to give her mom his jacket on cold nights.

What did he just say? "I'm sorry, are you asking me to-to marry you?" The look on Lexie's face was puzzled bemusement. She wasn't entirely sure what Mark was saying but it sure sounded like he wanted them to make a big next step that she probably wasn't ready for. This wasn't part of the plan. The plan was simple, get through medical school and residency and then when she's a fully qualified, board-certified attending to find someone and settle down. Nothing about Mark was part of the plan.

And yet as she walked away from him she couldn't help thinking about it. A little house with a white picket fence and their kids running around the backyard. Their kids could have surprise birthday parties like she had when she was a kid, and they can blow out the candles on their sheet birthday cake with balloons and streamers and her and Mark would be so proud that she'd probably get overemotional and cry but it would be okay because he was there to film it on his camcorder. So maybe she'd started thinking about it a little. But it was all a nice distant fantasy that she knew was way off into the future. That part of the plan had no basis in time, it was a dream she'd cooked up and it was going to stay that way until she was ready for it.

Mark thought about it too, but his image looked a little different. He saw their wedding, he saw how beautiful Lexie would look in a white dress. In his mind Derek was his best man for a change and there were real tears in his eyes as he watched her glide down the aisle. He didn't think about all the complicated logistics, he just thought about her and their life together how he had finally found someone worth settling down for. He wanted to wake up everyday and have her face be the first thing he saw.
