CHAPTER FOUR
Link pushed Epona forward. Dark clouds loomed low and threatened them with hail and thunder, but Link did not care. The rush of wind through his hair and the beat of Epona's hooves spurred him on. As they charged, the battle horns resounded, stoking the fires ans folling Link with thrill and determination.
Epona threw back her head and then careered forward, her muscles rippling beneath her coat as she hurtled at top speed. Link's spirit leapt at the sound of her hooves pounding the rocks. He leaned forward, increasing his speed and his heart pounding with every stride. Rain began to lash his face as they closed in on their enemies.
As the distance closed, Link sat tall, raising his bow and locking three arrows in place. His fingers moved with precision as he notched three arrows at once, preparing to unleash a deadly hail of fire on the bobokins.
With a fierce war cry, he released the arrows in quick succession, each finding its mark and bringing a rider down. The first bobokin fell, then another and another. Horses scattered sideways, forcing the rank to weaken, but as more appeared from the trees they continued their attack.
Epona began weaving side to side as the bobokins returned fire, their arrows hissing through the air. The adrenaline pumping through Link's veins made him feel invincible. The taste of battle was sweet, and he knew he could take these enemies down. With each arrow fired, his confidence grew, and he felt a surge of energy coursing through him.
At the last moment as the two sides collided, Link sheathed his bow and grabbed his sword. Epona thundered into the enemy at full force. The sound of metal clashing filled the air as Link smashed into his adversities, slashing his sword fearlessly and smashing his shield. Bobokins tumbled left and right, shrieking as they fell from their steeds. Link's eyes blazed with the thrill of battle as the two of them emerged unscathed.
The clattering hooves soon turned to soft thumps as Epona reached the grassy fields. Despite the rain and the chaos, Link was in his element. His bowstring sang as he fired expertly aimed arrows at his foes, each one finding its mark with lethal accuracy. The adrenaline rushing through his veins helped to sharpen his reflexes, and his sword moved with quick and deadly precision as he took down one bobokin after another.
Epona too was swift and deadly. Her speed was unmatched by any horse on the battlefield, and powerful body bulldozed through any bobokin unfortunate enough to find itself in her path. Bones snapped and broke beneath her hooves as she threw herself into the fight. Link knew that as a pair they the connection between them was unbreakable, and together they would not lose.
