Shortly after Chief Liam had arrived at the den, Bill and Robyn were sitting before Ben in the guard hut's interrogation area.
"We have a lot to talk about," said Bill.
"Sure do," said Ben.
"And we can start with why you and Robyn never returned home and what happened with the job you took to hunt the wolves," he said.
"I met someone here and we got married a few years back," said Bill.
"Why did you not send a message home, I would have come to it," said Ben.
"Some things happened and we didn't want anyone to know and decided to just leave our old lives behind us," said Robyn.
"Does it have to do with that woman I saw you kissing earlier?" asked Ben who looked more confused than angered.
"Kind of," said Robyn as she blushed slightly.
"You may not believe me, but the two of us were accidently turned into what's called Wolfwalkers," said Bill.
"What does that mean?" asked Ben.
"When we sleep our souls leave our bodies and become wolves," said Robyn.
"Brother, you know how insane that sounds, right?" asked Ben while looking at Bill with a concerned expression.
"I do, but I swear by God that what we are saying is true," said Bill.
"We'll even come back tonight in our wolf forms to prove it," he said.
"Very well, if you are going to go to the extent of swearing by God then I may as well wait and see," said Ben.
"But what about that woman and child I saw you with?" he asked while turning his attention back to Robyn.
"That was my wife and our daughter," said Robyn.
"What?!" asked Ben who was even more shocked to hear that.
"This town allows marriages like theirs as it runs on the laws of nature thanks to the majority of the people here being Wolfwalkers, and in nature same gender animals being together is not uncommon," said Bill.
"And you're alright with this?" asked Ben.
"I've learnt that religion should not get in the way of people's happiness, especially the happiness of your kids," said Bill while smiling at his daughter.
