So here I go getting myself into another fandom. This one actually holds a great deal of nostalgia for me as I grew up watching FOP though admittedly I haven't watched the later seasons. I just came back around recently to take a closer look into it again after a while. It's funny because kid me wouldn't have thought much about of it, but adult me has actually taken a great interest in Timmy and Trixie as a ship. So I thought why not take a crack at it myself. Admittedly I probably will butcher this as I have many other fandoms. This one because my FOP lore is quite rusty so I honestly don't know how it will go, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try. Now enough of my rambling, let's start the story!
A sigh of frustration echoed in the near empty comic book store. It seemed the figure was paying the price for not reserving a copy of the collector's edition Crimson Chin Multiversal Mashup. They adjusted their cap, tucking dark locks underneath more securely. Sure there was the option to simply buy the standard, but the collector's came with a must have collage drawn by each of the original artists of each iteration of everyone's favorite hero. Those that were still alive anyway.
"I'm here for my reserved copy of the Crimson Chin Multiversal Mashup." a familiar voice drew the figures attention.
A bucktoothed, pink garbed boy was at the front counter, and it seemed he sought the same thing.
"Turner, right? You're lucky kid. This is our last one. More and more people have started buying this stuff up around here."
The figure missed the rest of the exchange. Their eyes trailed after figure of one Timmy Turner as he gave some minor response and became heading for the exit of the shop. They glanced back at the row of comics behind them before grabbing one and quickly paying, hoping to catch up with the boy.
Timmy was happily making his way back home when he had the suspicious feeling that he was being watched. He really hoped Tootie wasn't stalking him again. He glanced over his shoulder to see a capped figure trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.
"Hey guys, does that look like who I think it is?" Timmy whispered.
His fairies were currently hidden as bracelet and a watch respectively. They seemed to catch on to their stranger.
"That's certainly what it looks like, Timmy." Wanda responded.
Some muffled speech came from Cosmo who had turned himself inside out somehow.
Used to Cosmo's brand of idiocy, neither Timmy nor Wanda noticed it and continued their conversation.
"Why's she following me?" Timmy wondered.
"You know you could just ask her, sport."
"Yeah, but then I have to explain how I know it's her."
Cosmo poofed himself the right way around finally, "I don't know why you keep calling him she, that's clearly a dude with a cool baseball cap."
Timmy and Wanda both facepalmed, "Cosmo that's Trixie Tang."
Cosmo looked surprised, "Wow. When did she start dressing like a nerd."
Wanda rolled her eyes, "She's trying to disguise herself, Cosmo."
"That's weird, but if that's Trixie why isn't Timmy happy she's following him around. I thought he was head over heels for her."
Timmy groaned, "I'm not ten anymore Cosmo. I know better than to get my hopes up." he replied.
"You're not ten anymore? That's a relief. Jeez, sometimes it feels like you were ten for years you know." Cosmo remarked.
Wanda gave a concerned glance, "Still it is rather that odd she's tailing you. It's pretty unusual if you ask me." she commented.
Timmy nodded, "Yeah maybe I should just talk to her, see what she says." he mumbled.
"Good idea, sport."
Timmy finally stopped and turned to his follower, "You know if you want something from me you can just ask, right? What's with the creepy stalker routine?" he called out.
Trixie looks admittedly embarrassed at being caught, "Oh, uh hey dude. I...uh...just wanted to ask if I could see the collage that came with that special edition. I wanted to buy it, but they were sold out." she said, in a rather poor attempt at a boy's voice.
Her disappointment and statement seemed rather genuine despite the attempt at changing her voice.
"You could've just asked. As long as you're not trying to rob me, it's not a big deal." Timmy explained.
"Really? I mean...That's awesome bro."
Her attempts at being casual were rather amusing. It seemed she hadn't anticipated him calling her out and was off her game.
"Yeah, come on. You can we can read it at my place."
Normally it would be crazy to invite someone you didn't know into your house, but Timmy wasn't your average kid and this technically wasn't an actual stranger. Besides he really doubted a rich girl like Trixie would have any reason to steal from him. He'd been threatened and embarrassed by plenty of people inside and outside of his home, so that didn't make much difference to him either. He really was just looking for a way to chat with her somewhere more private so maybe she would actually be honest about her identity.
"So are you new around here? I haven't seen you at school before." Timmy said, making small talk and testing the extent of her disguise.
"Well I usually don't come to this part of town unless it's to pick up me comics. It's been a hobby of mine for a while now, but my parents don't really approve."
"Strict type, eh. Sounds rough."
"I guess you could say that. They just see this kind of stuff as beneath them, but I think its cool."
"Hey I'm not gonna argue with you. I'm an avid collector myself."
"That's awesome."
"Thanks."
Timmy's house was currently empty as his parents were both out, but finally after all these years they trusted him to stay home without Vicky, something he was incredibly grateful for.
"Come on in, there's leftover pizza if you want any and drinks in the fridge."
Cosmo and Wanda poofed up into their fishbowl while Trixie wasn't looking.
Timmy and Trixie made their way to Timmy's room, but Trixie seemed somewhat nervous.
"Do you always invite people you've just met on the street into your house?" she asked.
"Not always, but I have a good feeling about you." Timmy answered.
Timmy placed the comic and food on his bed, "Besides, we're hardly strangers if we've known each other since Kindergarten."
Panic flashed on Trixie's face for a brief moment, "I don't know what you mean. We've never met before." she lied.
"Trixie, I'm sorry to tell you this, but that disguise doesn't work on me."
"I'm not Trixie Tang...I'm Tristan...yeah...Tristan."
The look Timmy deadpan look Timmy gave her was enough on it's own, "I never said your name was Trixie Tang. I just said Trixie." he pointed out.
With a frustrated sigh, Trixie removed her baseball cap, her long hair that had been tucked came loose, flowing freely down her back.
"If you knew it was me why didn't you say anything sooner." she questioned.
"I thought you wouldn't have wanted your cover blown in public."
Trixie looked mildly surprised, "That's nice of you I suppose. Though admittedly you inviting me up to your room if you knew it was me is rather suspicious." she said, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Hey I just invited you here to read comics and thought you'd be more comfortable without the disguise."
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
Trixie looked perplexed, "I thought boys usually would like try feel girls up or spy on them or something."
Timmy shrugged, "Maybe some guys do, but I'm not going to. I just thought we could hang out."
"You're a strange one Timmy Turner."
"So I've been told," he paused taking notice of something, "Wait you know my name?" he asked, sounding surprised.
"Of course I do. We've been classmates since kindergarten."
"Then why do you always call me Tommy, if you bother to say my name at all?"
"It's called feigning ignorance."
"Wow, I never caught onto that."
"Looks like it worked then. You didn't seriously think I was that stuck up did you."
Timmy looked at the camera then back to Trixie, "No...not all the time at least." he answered, mumbling that last part.
Trixie looked vaguely offended, "Okay maybe I deserved that." she admitted.
"Let's let bygones be bygones and just read some comics okay?" he offered.
Trixie actually smiled, "Alright then it's a deal. I've been looking forward to this issue for this for months."
"Me too, I've been avoiding all the leaks and spoilers so I could read it myself."
"OMG Same."
The two spent quite some time geeking out and even checked out the rest of Timmy's impressive collection.
"You know. I didn't question it before, but you didn't seem surprised about my disguise."
"Let's just say you're not the only one who has cross dressed."
"What do you mean, Tim-" the realization started kicking in, "No way. You were Timmantha?"
"Yep."
"Why were you dressed as a girl?"
"I lost a bet. Plus I'd been trying to figure out a gift for you. The fact that I ran into you was a complete coincidence. It did convince me there was more to you than meets the eye though."
"So you showing up and saying all that stuff at my party later..."
"Was me trying to be the friend you wanted." he finished.
"I feel even worse about having you thrown out now."
"Yeah I admit that stung. Still, I held out hope for a long time. I'd hoped maybe you'd come around to being friends and if I was lucky maybe even like me back."
Trixie smiled, "Well you didn't have to worry about that last part. Back then I had a kind of crush on you."
Timmy looked shocked, "Wait, really?"
"Really. I always thought your loyalty to your friends and your endless persistence were sort of cute."
"What about now?" he asked.
"Hmm. I suppose your still pretty cute and you've kept my secret after all these years. Though you admittedly aren't persistent like you used to be." she confessed.
"I thought you would've been happy to be left alone."
"At first I thought I'd be relieved, but honestly I began to miss it eventually. Despite my attitude towards you, I honestly looked forward to you talking to me. Plenty of boys showered me with praise and gifts, but none of them felt as genuine as you did."
"I mean I was pretty selfish and immature about it if you ask most people."
"Yeah you went about it wrong sometimes, but you figured that out yourself in the end. I think that's pretty mature considering we were 10."
Timmy blushed, "So um, any chance you'd still be interested? I mean we don't have to date or anything if you want want. I'd be fine hanging out-"
Trixie interrupted him by kissing him on the cheek, "I won't make any promises, but honestly between you and me I'm thinking of ditching the popular crew. Honestly at this point it's really obviously a snobby rich kid club and people are starting to not care about us anymore anyway. I think it's about time for a change."
The brown haired boy looked excited at the thought, "Hey a maybe is like the closest I've gotten to a yes. I'll take it."
The girl giggled, "You're a sweet boy Timmy and funny to boot. Unfortunately I'll have to be going for now, but I promise we'll meet again soon."
"Looking forward to it, Trixie."
"Likewise." the girl agreed."
After they parted ways, Cosmo and Wanda poofed out into their fairy forms.
"Well that went well." Cosmo commented.
"It looks like Trixie is trying to change herself for the better. Good for her."
"If I can help her be her true self out in the open. I'll consider it a good thing."
"If you score a girlfriend even better." Cosmo commented.
"Exactly." Timmy replied.
"Who would've thought we'd ever see the day Trixie Tang would be so openly affectionate." Wanda commented.
"I'll enjoy it while it lasts. People in my life seem to flip their attitudes on a dime."
"You said it, sport."
"There's just one thing I wanna know. What happened to that Tristan guy?" Cosmo asked.
So this is very short, but it's mostly just to test the waters, honestly like I mentioned before my FOP knowledge is quite rusty so if I made mistakes somewhere let me know. I don't know the exact age they are in this. Anywhere from 13-15 probably though. Enough of a gap for changes, but not so much that I have to have Cosmo and Wanda gone or even have them being present still explained.
If I get any positive feedback or even just some ideas on where else to go with this I might make it a series of sorts, but as of right now it's just the one chapter. I spent the early morning hours when I was supposed to be asleep writing this so I hope anyone actually reads it. If not I'm exhausted right now for no reason. Listened to Photograph of Helena a mashup on YT while writing this.
