Chapter 6: Help and a Kiss
One Week Later *
Naruto was sitting on the ground of the hotel room that he is in. Naruto had his blade leaning against the wall with his trench coat and holster hanging on the handle. In front of Naruto was his wooden board and a tag on it with ink to the side and brush in hand. Naruto was just thinking then he looked at his dry brush as he thought ' When I used it the whole seal formed but the barrier didn't form. I am going to need to fight the whole middle part on this tag.' Naruto was quickly taken out of his thoughts hearing someone run past his door then heard Kurenai say " Hinata wait." Naruto got up instantly and ran to his door then opened it looking to his right. Naruto saw Kurenai have tears in her eyes so he said " What happened?" Naruto saw Kurenai look at him holding back tears then heard " I fucked up?" Naruto just nodded and then said " What did you do?" Naruto saw Kurenai look down and heard " I wanted to talk to her in Konoha but I couldn't so I asked about the bruises and she said it was nothing. We kept arguing and I got really angry and yelled that I need to protect her because she is weak. She then ran out." Naruto nodded, then he said looking behind him at a clock " It's almost your time to switch with Kakashi. I'll go talk to her." Naruto saw Kurenai nod and then heard " It's raining." Naruto nodded as he saw Kurenai enter her room so he ran into him putting on his trench coat then he ran out closing the door behind him.
Naruto quickly ran out of hotel rain hitting his head so he threw his hood on then ran seeing Kakashi enter. Naruto stopped in front of Kakashi to just hear " She's outside near the east side of the wall." Naruto nodded, then was about to run and said " Thank you Kakashi." Naruto then ran off heading to find Hinata. After twenty minutes Naruto gave a big sigh as he stopped seeing Hinata sitting against the wall soaked in the rain that was coming down hard. Naruto walked over to Hinata and just sat with her. Naruto just looked forward in silence but only for a couple of minutes when he heard " Please, don't ask me…" Naruto looked at Hinata and then said " You should put your hood on. You could catch a cold." Naruto saw Hinata look at him but did nothing so he reached behind her grabbing her hood then brought it up. As Naruto brought his hand back he set it against Hinata's feeling how cold it was. Naruto saw Hinata close her eyes, a couple of tears falling down her face.
Naruto just gave a sad smile then heard " I don't…" Naruto whipped away a tear, interrupting Hinata and said " I already have seen the bruises but that's not why I'm here?" Naruto saw Hinata look at him in shock so he got closer as the rain lightened then after brushing away another tear he said " I hear what Kurenai said." Naruto saw Hinata just nod back, his hand disconnecting from her face, which made him mentally frown. Naruto saw Hinata try to stand but he grabbed her wrist and said " I'm only going to tell you what I believe and I want you to hear me out." Naruto saw Hinata nod so he moved his hand down to hers and squeezed her hand as his heart started beating faster. Naruto just stared at Hinata for a few minutes to hear " I know she meant well it's just…" Naruto nodded, not caring if Hinata finished, then said " Can I tell you something?" Naruto saw Hinata nod so he said " I would have said the same thing." Naruto saw Hinata in shock then heard " So you think I'm weak?" Naruto felt Hinata move her hand but he leaned back his head hitting the wall and he then sighed. After a few seconds he said " Yes and no." Naruto just looked up and said " Hinata if you had the powers of Sage of Six Paths I will say you're strong and you would be." Naruto let out another sigh then heard " But I care for you as do Kurenai and no matter what we want to protect you." Naruto then looked at Hinata and said " Hinata, I and Kurenai would die to protect you and that is what Kurenai is doing. If you compared your skills to everyone Genin you would be one of the strongest but if you compared them to three Jonin you would be weak." Naruto saw Hinata look up so he said " Kurenai shouldn't have called you weak but you are to whoever is doing that as they are easily three times more powerful and older." Naruto saw Hinata just nod then he heard " What do I do?" Naruto smiled then said " Simple when you are put up against an enemy that you can't defeat you ask for help." Naruto saw Hinata look at him then heard " Can…" Naruto just pulled Hinata in with a side hug then whispered in her ear " I will." Naruto heard Hinata start to cry but he just had a small smile as he felt his face heat up.
Thirty Minutes Later *
Naruto felt Hinata pull back, whipping her tears, then heard " It stopped raining." Naruto nodded and said " Yea, fifteen minutes ago." Naruto then looked at Hinata to see her nervous so he said " Hey." Naruto saw Hinata look at him so he said " Why don't you go to Kurenai and talk." Naruto saw Hinata nod so he stood up and said " First we change as I'm soaked." Naruto saw Hinata nod so he walked up and held his hand out. Naruto felt Hinata grab them so he pulled her up but he did a little too hard. Naruto felt himself land on his back then he groaned feeling Hinata land on him. Naruto blinked a few times, his vision a blur then his face went red seeing him look straight at Hinata, their faces inches apart. Naruto didn't move and just continued looking, holding his breath, seeing Hinata's face also red. Naruto felt his heart pounding fast which made him let out a breath to then hear a * Eep * from Hinata. Naruto just continued to stare, his heart beating faster, his body heating up and he didn't want Hinata to move.
Without thinking, Naruto slowly moved his face closer, putting his hand against Hinata's left cheek. Naruto just continued to stare when he heard Hinata whisper " Naruto I…" Naruto just stared at Hinata thinking ' Your eyes are so…' Naruto just blinked, then he moved his thumb against Hinata's cheek then said " Your eyes are like stars." Naruto saw Hinata's face turn more red but while he spoke he felt nervous. Naruto let out a sigh and started to move and sat up Hinata getting off of him. Naruto just looked forward and said " Sorry." Naruto felt Hinata grab his hand and heard " No, it's ok?" Naruto just looked at Hinata with a smile and then said looking down " It's hard for me to trust people. It took me two years before I ever trusted Iruka and the only one I trust beside Iruka is the Hokage. Naruto saw Hinata start to look down but he put a hand on her cheek making her look up so he said " Until you. I don't even trust my own teammates but you I just…" Naruto stopped talking, having no idea what to say but he saw Hinata give a smile and heard " It's good you trust me." Naruto just smiled and then let out a sigh as he brought his hand down and just got up and said " We should head back." Naruto saw Hinata nod and stand up with a smile so he started walking to feel Hinata grab his wrist so he stopped to hear " I know your goofy smile and pranks are a mask and you've been bringing down your mask slowly." Naruto didn't look at Hinata to hear a sigh then heard " I'm thankful you showed me some of your true self." Naruto nodded and brought his hand out of Hinata's grip and said with a smile " Thanks." Naruto then took a couple of steps then said " Truly it's I've never dropped it before with someone my age and I need time to think but I trust you." Naruto saw Hinata walk past him and just nod then walk off taking off her hood as he thought ' I was slightly lying, I'm more confused Hinata. Why does my heart beat faster with you? Why do I not want to leave your side? And why did I trust you with that, someone I've only known for a month and a half.' Naruto sighed as he walked off heading to his hotel room.
Couple Hours Later *
Naruto was sitting on his bed with his trench coat, holster and blade to the side just thinking. Naruto was brought out of his thoughts when he heard a knock on his door so he looked at it and saw Hinata enter, then heard " Hey." Naruto gave a smile then heard " You've been in here the last couple of hours and I just came to check on you." Naruto nodded then after sighing he said " Hinata I need to talk to you about something." Naruto saw Hinata nod so he gestured to sit down and after watching Hinata sit next to him he said " As you know I'm an orphan and to do that I haven't had any grasp on my emotions." Naruto let out a sigh then he looked at Hinata and said " It started when we first met. I have just been noticing things like the small tint of lavender in your eyes. Over time I started noticing other things and started…" Naruto let out a sigh and said " I keep thinking you're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." Naruto let out another sigh not noticing Hinata's blush then he said " When I'm around you my heart races, my face heats up, I trusted you with some stuff I don't even tell Iruka and I just don't…" Naruto was interrupted by Hinata jumping at him pushing him to his back. Naruto looked at Hinata in shock and was about to speak when he saw Hinata lean in and his eyes widened feeling Hinata kiss him.
After a few seconds he saw Hinata pull back their faces about a foot apart. Naruto saw Hinata's face as red as a tomato and after a few seconds in silence he heard " I'm sorry." Naruto just looked at Hinata in complete shock but it felt right. Naruto just layed there looking at Hinata to hear " I'll just leave." Naruto grabbed Hinata's wrist before she could move, then he said " Hinata, I don't…" Naruto saw Hinata just nod and heard " You don't have to say anything, this didn't happen." Naruto kept his grip not letting Hinata leave and after seeing her look at him he said " Hinata." Naruto saw Hinata look at him so he sat up next to Hinata standing next to bed. Naruto just looked at Hinata not letting go of his grip then he stood up himself making his face only inches from Hinata's. Naruto gave a small smile as he put the hand from her wrist to her cheek he then said " You're right I don't have to say anything." Naruto then leaned in closing his eyes as he kissed Hinata.
Couple Hours Later *
Naruto was standing in front of Hinata in an open field just outside of Koen village. Naruto saw Hinata looking at a scroll but he was staring at her. Naruto saw Hinata look up then heard " What?" Naruto smiled walking up and said " I forgot what your lips taste like. I think I need to find out again." Naruto saw Hinata's face turn red then heard " Oh." Naruto chuckled as he stopped and then put a hand on Hinata's cheek thinking ' It's hard not to kiss you when we are with the others.' Naruto then leaned in and kissed Hinata on the lips then he pulled back and said in a whisper " that's right." Naruto saw Hinata just look down in embarrassment which made him chuckle. Naruto then backed up drawing his sword and said " So what jutsu are you working on?" Naruto saw Hinata look up but was still embarrassed. Naruto saw Hinata look back at the scroll and heard " The lightning style jutsu you already know." Naruto nodded as he set the Executioner blade on the ground and said " Ok, well tell me if I could help. I'm going to work on the Hidden Mist jutsu." Naruto saw Hinata so he sat down unsealing the jutsu scroll from the blade then started reading it.
Two Weeks later *
Naruto was standing in front of the Hokage just looking down. Naruto was trying not to fall for his knees as he's been silent for thirty minutes. Naruto put his hand into fist to hear " This mission is a success." Naruto's eyes widened at that to then hear Sakura say " You gotta be kidding me, he killed a little boy." Naruto started to shake everyone seeing to hear the Hokage say " Naruto didn't kill anyone." Naruto just shook his head and mumbled " I did." Naruto shaking got worse to feel a hand on his shoulder and then heard Hinata say " Naruto you…" Naruto turned smacking Hinata's arm away and yelled " Yes I fucking did." Naruto then took a step back as he fell to his knees starting to cry. Naruto just stayed silent when he heard Sakura say " You don't deserve to cry for that child." Naruto didn't respond or move and when he felt a hand on his shoulder he smacked the arm away not knowing who but he looked up at Hinata and yelled " Get the hell away from me?" Naruto saw Hinata fall on her but to then see Kurenai crouch then saw her whisper something." Naruto just looked back down to hear Sakura say " You don't treat your friend like that murder." Right as Sakura finished, Naruto heard Hiruzen yell " That's enough, get out." Naruto didn't look but he heard everyone leave and after close to a minute in silence he heard some footsteps then he felt arms be wrapped around him as he heard the Hokage say " Naruto, it's ok?" Naruto shook his head falling into the Hokage's chest as he said " I'm a monster." Naruto felt the Hokage tighten the hug and heard " No you're not?" Naruto just shook his head covering his eyes with his hands and said " What the hell did I do Jiji?"
