Here are some important facts to keep in mind as you read:
John & Bailey are engaged
Tim is with Lucy Tim works Metro
Tamara lives with Lucy and Tim
Wesley & Angela are married they do have Jack for the purposes of this story they only have Jack
Nina is married to James they have two kids
Aaron & Selena are also at Mid-Wilshire
Jackson's death did happen
Aside from the above facts consider this story AU
This story will center around Tim & Lucy John & Bailey but others will play a role.
Chapter 1 Unexpected Win fall
Lucy had it all a great job and an amazing relationship she was on track to make detective pretty soon and already had two hooks in with Angela and Nyla all she had to was wait for it to be made official by the department and she'd be where she wanted in life for her life couldn't get any sweeter.
Luckily for Lucy she was only one shift away from a three-day weekend which she hoped to be spending with Tim just relaxing if he wasn't on call.
Lucy rolled out of bed a took a quick shower since Tim had already left getting ready was going to be easy.
Lucy showered got dressed made a quick sandwich and headed off to work.
The drive in wasn't too bad just as Lucy was about to go inside, she ran into Aaron who had what looked to be a permanent smile on his face.
"Hey Aaron you look happy for a Friday early shift."
"Oh, hey Lucy, I'll let you know what's up inside".
The duo walked inside and headed for the briefing room thankfully the room was empty.
"Okay Aaron tell me what's going on your smile is kind of scaring me."
Well remember how I did that Docu series that closed my old case?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Well, the crew that shot that got a call from a studio and turns out through them they reached out to me and want to buy the movie and TV rights to my story and the offer was godfather level."
"That's a lot to take in what are you going to do?"
"Well, I spoke to my mom I told her if I do this it's all me, she agreed if I take this deal, it'll be my decision, I run the show and let's just say the number they gave me is nothing to sneeze at."
"Wow that is a lot to take in as long as you think taking this is worth it go ahead."
"That means a lot Lucy thanks."
So out of curiosity how much was their offer?"
Aaron pulled the email up on his phone to show Lucy.
Lucy's jaw dropped when she saw the number.
"Aaron you can't be serious this studio is offering you 200 million up front plus a 50/50 split of revenue from the movie this is crazy."
Its all there the movie comes out in a month all I have to do is put pen to paper and I'll be making about four times what I did on social by the way I'll still come to work I want to still continue to make a difference but make no mistake to celebrate I'm thinking of hitting Vegas for the weekend."
"Cool Aaron hope you enjoy."
"Lucy I was thinking of making this trip a group thing I can get John Bailey Tim Angela Nina and Selena squared away on a jet we hit Vegas for the weekend and forget LA for a sec you in?"
Lucy thought for a moment she could really use a get away along with Tim and this just might be perfect."
"Alright I'm in, I'm sure we can convince the others with little issue set it up."
Once the duo set everything up the briefing room filled up and the squad was filled in for the day by Gray.
After the briefing Aaron and Lucy picked up their bags bumping into Selena and John.
"Hey Nolan be safe out there Lucy called to her friend just as he headed for his shop being acknowledged with a smile and a nod.
Aaron and Lucy headed out hoping that today would easy.
As Aaron drove through the streets, he thought to himself how he was going to spend his new earnings just as he turned on to the next block, Lucy noticed what looked like robbery taking place at a small mini mart.
Control seven Adam fifteen responding to a 211 in progress at Bakers mini mart show us code six."
Lucy and Aaron pulled just close enough to the mini mart where they could see what was going on before making a move.
"Alright this looks like a simple robbery two-person crew we'll rush them if I'll call for backup to shutdown the 3 blocks in either direction just in case." Lucy commented.
Control seven Adam fifteen advice any units in the area to establish a three-block perimeter of our current location approaching 211 now."
"Roger seven Adam fifteen."
"Alright we hard and fast we don't need anything stupid happening now." Lucy remarked.
"Let's do this."
With that Aaron and Lucy rushed into the mini mart.
"LAPD freeze drop the gun get on your knees and put your hands up now" Lucy ordered drawing the tall man's attention as the smaller man ransacked the cash box behind the counter
"Screw you pig this guy owes us money so either he pays and we leave or he refuses and we paint his brain all over the store his choice".
Aaron used this exchange to his advantage jumping behind the counter getting into a struggle with the shorter man which resulted in the man being contained after a short fight with the first man still pointing his gun at the cashier.
"Give up we've already got one of you in cuffs and face it you do anything stupid you're the one that's going to leave on your back just drop your gun and give up last chance." Lucy said trying to reason with the remaining would be robber.
"I said fuck off pig." The tall man fired his gun while almost instantly causing Lucy to fire her gun hitting the would-be robber in the side luckily his round missed its intended target.
After cuffing the remaining robber Lucy called for an ambulance and a squad car.
Aaron rode in the ambulance with the second guy while Lucy waited for the squad car.
All total Lucy and Aaron spent three hours dealing with the robbery hoping the rest of their tour would be uneventful.
Meanwhile across town Selina and John were on patrol luckily only having to deal with a few noise complaints and a trespassing call.
Just as they wrapped up a traffic stop, they got a radio call from Lucy and Aaron.
"Seven Adam nineteen pickup" Lucy called in.
"Go for seven Adam nineteen."
"Hey Nolan meet us Ally's lunch is on Thorson."
"Works us Lucy out."
When the foursome met at Ally's a half an hour later the group ordered burgers and fries
Aaron thought this was the best time to spring the big news on his friends.
"John Selena there was actually a motive to lunch today."
"What are you talking about Thorson?" John asked.
"Well, I sold the movie and tv rights to my life story for a crazy amount of money, and to celebrate I was thinking we take a squad trip to Vegas for the weekend Chen brings Bradford John you bring Bailey Selina you're invited too and we can rope Harper & Lopez so are you guys in?"
"Ah what the hell a weekend in Vegas paid for I'm in." John replied.
"Screw it I'm in." Selena replied.
"Cool we'll get Harper and Lopez before EOT". Aaron stated.
Four hours later the group found Lopez & Harper told them what was going on and after some convincing Nina and Angela made arrangements to meet at LAX in two hours.
Two hours later the group met at LAX with Aaron handing them each ten grand in the form of a debit card just before boarding the flight.
Little did the crew know this trip was going to be life changing in more ways than one for them all.
