For the first time in a long time, I'm writing a crossover.
This is a story that I'm finding it enjoyable to write, and I hope you enjoy it, but before you start reading, a little warning:
English IS NOT MY NATIVE LANGUAGE. I make this very clear because I have limitations with the language, which consequently can affect the quality of the story, however, I try my best to do the best I can with the knowledge I have.
Anyway, enjoy the first chapter.
Thunder ripped through the rainy Viridian sky, the city was in complete chaos as Team Rocket was pushed to their limits by an advancing task force to permanently destroy them, and all that was left in the end was Giovanni on the helipad located in the top of the building that served as a facade for the main installation of his illegal enterprise.
The middle-aged man was staring with pure hatred at a 13-year-old boy who had managed to destroy everything he had worked for for most of his life. His biggest tormentor, Ash Ketchum.
Ash was doing his best to hold off Persian's ferocious string of attacks, which was emitting a strange purple energy. Pikachu was tired and slightly injured, but the electric mouse was far from accepting defeat.
"For years you were a thorn in my side, but that ends today. Team Rocket may fall, but as long as I live, I can start over. But I can't take any chances and I'll make sure you can never stop me again!" Ash had a bad feeling hearing his opponent's malicious tone.
"I made sure my precious Persian was able to use the dark aura to make his attacks more powerful, and with that power I will annihilate you, Persian use Slash on the boy!" The cat Pokemon didn't hesitate, and got rid of Pikachu, advancing at high speed towards Ash, who couldn't react in time, being hit by the attack.
"PIKAPI!" Pikachu ran towards his friend, and tried to stop Persian's attack with an Iron Tail, but the strength of the cat Pokémon was beyond what Pikachu was prepared for, and even decreasing the strength of the attack, Slash hit Ash in the face and in the chest
Ash screamed in pain and fell to the ground with his face bleeding, he couldn't open his right eye and his chest felt like it was on fire, by instinct he put his hand on his chest and gasped in shock when he felt something wet.
It was blood, his blood.
Pikachu froze when he saw Pikapi hurt. He failed to protect his best friend, the other Pokémon in the family would never forgive him, but that doesn't matter.
No one hurts Pikapi and lives to tell the tale.
A powerful shockwave emanated from the electric mouse, preventing Persian from trying to capitalize on the attack. "Damn Persian, finish off that damn rat and kill that brat!"
"Pikachu..." Ash whispered the name of his first Pokémon when he started to lose consciousness from the large amount of blood lost, and when Ash's head hit the hard ground, and seeing that made something break in the electric Pokémon's mind.
He needs to finish it off in one attack, or Pikapi could die.
At that moment, the heavens gained a new master, and all the electricity in the clouds was condensed and fell in a great ray on top of Pikachu, which even in excruciating pain, endured until it accumulated all the energy, and after being overloaded, it fired the Strongest Thunderbolt of his life.
Giovanni was unable to do anything to defend himself, the attack was not aimed at the Persian, but at him, and when he was hit, the force of the explosion knocked him off the helipad, causing him to fall into a free fall.
Giovanni Sasaki, the most feared crime lord of Kanto and Johto, lay dead on the floor in a bloody mess.
Persian was immobile, and did not resist when police arrived at the top of the building and placed the criminal's Pokémon in a containment Poké Ball.
One of the police saw Ash unconscious and immediately shouted for medical help.
A year has passed since the incident that led to Giovanni's death. Ash was severely wounded in the chest and permanently lost the sight in his right eye. The local press of Kanto and even other regions severely criticized the Alola champion's actions, some more sensationalist newspapers created the narrative that Ash had committed murder.
It's pretty obvious that the criminal underworld has its hands in the press.
Ash was embittered by what he was suffering, losing an eye and being permanently scarred with a horrible scar on his chest wasn't enough for these ungrateful vultures, now his image has been gradually destroyed.
Many of his old friends tried to get in touch, but Ash refused as he feared their image would be affected. May, Dawn and Serena were rising coordinators, Max became a promising Hoenn trainer, and so many other friends fulfilling their dreams, it wouldn't be fair to risk them losing everything to try to help him.
But the turning point that defined Ash's future was when Charles Goodshow came to his home on Pallet, and personally informed him that he was being stripped of his title as champion of Alola.
Ash didn't blame Charles, as the normally cheerful old man was embarrassed by what he had been forced to do, but the reputation of the Pokémon League was at stake. He accepted the decision and at that moment knew that his career as a Pokémon trainer was permanently destroyed.
The problems did not end because in Pallet a movement of a large part of the population began for Ash to leave, as his presence was ruining local business and Pallet's reputation.
Delia was furious at what they were doing to her son, but once again Ash made a decision that put the wishes of many above his own will.
At Samuel Oak's ranch, Ash was in front of his Pokémon that he captured along the journey through countless regions, the atmosphere was gloomy, and taking a deep breath, Ash began to speak.
"All of you must know what is going on. I made a decision in the past that I don't regret, but it had unintended consequences and took away a lot of important things from me. I lost my title, my career was ruined and I was forced to distance myself from my friends and even my dear mother, I hope you will forgive me for what I am going to do, but I will be forced to leave you behind." A huge chorus of outraged Pokémon almost brought tears to Ash's eyes, but it also warmed his heart, knowing that he still had someone to trust.
Pikachu lowered its ear, but was surprised when Ash gently took it off his shoulder, placing it on the ground in front of the other Pokémon. The little yellow mouse began to understand what was about to happen and got teary-eyed.
Ash knelt down and placed a hand on Pikachu's head. "That's right friend, you will also have to stay with the rest of the family. We've been through a lot together, we've laughed and cried alongside each other, but this time I'm going on an adventure that I must face alone. Pikachu, you are my first Pokémon, can I trust you to take care of my mother and the rest of the family?" Ash was doing his best to hold back more of his emotions, but he had to be strong.
Pikachu slowly nodded with a weak 'Pikapi'.
The boy took his hat and gently placed it on Pikachu's head, and as he stood up, he looked at all of his Pokémon with a determined expression. "This is not goodbye, I swear I'll be back one day, but I need to trust each and every one of you to protect my mother. Live happily, and don't forget me, because I will never forget you." Ash turned around and allowed himself to cry, but was knocked down by the Pokémon who did the famous 'Ketchum reception', jumping on top of him, causing a good laugh.
It took a few minutes before Ash was able to get up and then he left the ranch. He was about to leave the lab when a voice interrupted him.
"Where do you think you're going Ashy-boy? Won't you say goodbye to the great Gary Oak?" Garry was wearing a lab coat similar to his grandfather's, leaning against the wall with his back and a serious expression on his face.
"You shouldn't talk to me Gary." Ash tried to go on his way, but was stopped by a strong grip on his shoulder.
"I won't let you disappear, fuck those ungrateful people's opinion, a lot of people will suffer if you run away Ash. Think about your mom, me, your friends, your Pokémon. Hell, how are you going to survive without any Pokemon to protect you?" Gary started to speak calmly, but practically screamed at the end, such was his fear to see his best friend about to follow a path of no return.
What Gary didn't expect was to be forced to let go of the boy's shoulder in front of him, as a layer of blue energy covered Ash's body. Without turning around, he spoke to the young researcher. "Everyone has secrets, and I'm not helpless Gary. If you want my advice, live your life without regrets, I will bear the consequences of my actions without remorse, so don't be sad for me. Farewell, old friend." The blue energy glowed brighter and brighter until Gary was forced to close his eyes, and when the light dimmed, Ash was gone.
Gary held out his hand, then brought it down, squeezing the fist so hard his nails dug into the skin. "I swear, I'll find you, and get your damn stubborn ass back home if it's the last thing I do, so long live Ash, we both know you're too stubborn to die.
Ash was on the hill that gave him the opportunity to take one last look at Pallet, when voices from people he hadn't expected to see caught his attention.
"Ash!" Two girls, who Ash knows very well, stood before him, panting from running so hard to catch up. May Maple and Dawn Hikari stood before him with Poké Balls in hand.
He laughed bitterly and turned to face his friends. "Dawn and May, honestly, I didn't think I'd see you again, how brave to look for a murderer." The venomous tone in Ash's voice sent the girls into shock, and both clapped their hands over their mouths when they saw that Ash was blind in one eye, but Dawn was the first to recover.
"Stop this! I've known you for years, you're not a murderer, hell, they shouldn't have put you up against the leader of Team Rocket, and what did you get out of it? Your career is over and I have to see my best friend on the run, you were never a coward!" Something in Dawn's words made Ash furious, and the look of pure hatred made the bluenette flinch.
May was also scared, but knowing that she would regret it for the rest of her life if she didn't try to stop him from running away, she walked over and grabbed Ash's hand. "We can do something to reverse this Ash! Accept any punishment and at least try to live in peace, I don't want to see you disappear." The brunette started to cry and squeezed Ash's hand tightly "I don't want to lose you." Dawn lost her fear at her friend's words and grabbed Ash's other hand.
Hatred faded and guilt took place in Ash's heart, but it's precisely because his friends are loyal that he can't waver. Ash hugged May and Dawn, he needs to be strong to ensure the safety of the important people in his life.
Still hugging the girls, Ash began to speak. "In this world, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows. As long as there is a concept of winners, there will also be losers. The selfish desire for peace gives rise to violence. And hate is born to protect love. May, Dawn, you are important to me, I gave up a lot of things to make sure no one has to bear the consequences of my actions, so please live for your dreams, be happy, forget about me." Ash released the girls from their embrace and turned, starting to walk away.
For Dawn and May it was a shock to hear such words coming from the normally immature boy, but none of that matters, he will stick with them even if it takes violence.
May released her Blaziken, Dawn widened her eyes at what May was about to do.
"May don't do that!" The brunette ignored the blue haired girl and the huge firebird waited for her trainer's orders.
"Blaziken, stop Ash from fleeing, use any means necessary." Blaziken couldn't believe the order he received, but when he looked at Ash, he felt something strange coming from the human boy.
Even fearful, the pokémon followed the order of its trainer and advanced towards Ash, but what happened next left the girls and the pokémon in complete shock.
Everything happened in a few seconds, Blaziken tried to connect a Sky Uppercut, however, a mantle of blue energy enveloped Ash, and he dodged at the last second, and using Blaziken's own attack against the pokémon, he shot at high speed and hit a kick on the bird's head, sending the Pokemon flying towards May and Dawn. Both girls were hit by the pokémon, and although they weren't seriously injured, they felt betrayed.
Ash didn't hesitate to attack the Blaziken, and he didn't hesitate to hurt them.
When the girls looked at Ash's face, they gasped at the sight of a single eye devoid of any emotion, as if they weren't important.
And at that moment, May and Dawn understood that there would be no turning back, the Ash Ketchum they both knew is not the same boy before them.
"Wake up to reality, nothing goes as planned in this cursed world, the longer you live, the more you realize, that the only things that really exist in this reality are just pain, suffering and futility, listen, I never wanted fame, I just wanted to help , and look what I gained, I lost everything I fought so hard to conquer, everyone gets tired, and I reached my limit. Listen to what I say, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows to be found too, I decided to accept that This world is rotten, and I made my decision. Forget about me, and don't look for me. I'll do what I can to protect what I love, I've taken a life before, nothing will stop me from doing it again." Ash's words left a deep mark on May and Dawn's hearts, both girls knew they had lost the friend they had known on their respective journeys,
Ash disappeared, and his friends tried to look for him around the world, with no success. Public opinion of the former trainer has since deteriorated, and a rumor that he is dead has gained traction.
Though the world easily betrayed the person who put himself at risk so many times to protect the innocent, Ash's few close friends would never forget his legacy, and they won't give up until they find him. For no matter how much Ash wishes it were forgotten, it has taught the friends he has made along his journey something very important.
Your friends won't give up until they find you, no matter how long it takes, they will see you again.
Some time later...
Somewhere on top of Mt. Silver, an old cabin houses a single teenager, who was preparing dinner when he heard something knock on the door, curious because he doesn't usually receive human visits, Ash went to the door, and when he opened it, he raised an eyebrow at what he saw.
A man in his 50s, wearing an old black kimono and a pair of wooden sandals. On the man's head, a straw hat shaded his face, preventing the boy from seeing better the face of those who visited him. Straight black hair streaked with gray was tied back in a ponytail. And at the waist, a sheathed Katana, leaving the ex-coach on alert.
"Hello boy, would you have some food for this old wanderer?" The man inclined his head slightly. Noticing the boy's uneasiness, he followed the child's gaze and nearly blushed with embarrassment at his own foolishness. Of course the kid would be afraid of a stranger with a gun. "Relax kid, I would never hurt someone for no reason, my blade only exists to protect me and defend the defenseless."
Ash was silent for a few seconds, surprised by the request, and even if a part of him was afraid to accept a complete stranger with a sword in his home, Ash would never live with himself if he left someone hungry on his doorstep. "Uh, sure! Come on in, it's really cold in the mountains, I don't want you to get sick or anything."
"I thank you for your hospitality, could I know the name of the kind boy who welcomes me into his home?" Ash was curious about the strange way the man was talking to him.
"My name is Ash Ketchum. Come in, it's getting dark and the cold is relentless on this mountain." The man took off his wooden sandals and entered the small hut. It was not a luxurious house, and although it was old, it was kept as well as possible.
"Oh, your house reminds me of my childhood in Mistral, we didn't have luxuries, but our people are in the habit of welcoming visitors kindly. My name is Satoru Goenji." Ash nodded and went to the kitchen to get something to feed his visitor.
When Ash turned around, Goenji narrowed his eyes. This kid can't be more than 15 years old and he lives alone in a hostile environment with no one to help him, and the kid has lost an eye. And although Goenji has been fighting for most of his life, seeing battle marks on a child made him extremely uncomfortable.
Ash came back with a small bowl of stew, and handed it to Goenji. "I'm sorry if it's not very tasty, I don't have many options in the mountains and I only learned to cook well enough to not starve."
"Don't worry about it kid, it doesn't matter how a food is made, what really matters is the intention behind who prepares it." It would have been a typical moment where a wise man says something to someone younger, but Goenji ruined it by eating like a damned man, leaving Ash with a comical bead of sweat on the back of his neck.
Not even May eats so desperately and that girl is the only person Ash has ever met who could compete with his appetite.
When Goenji finished eating, he handed the plate to Ash's hand and had fun with the boy returning to the kitchen with robotic steps, it brought back memories of the young Schnee, who even though she was only 5 years old had the courage to scold an intimidating man with a Katana in hand.
Thinking of the young lady brought sadness to Goenji's heart, but he had to abandon that life. He has lived by the sword, but the time has come for him to enjoy the rest of his life in peace, away from the sickening conflict in the western lands.
A thin layer of blue wrapped around his left hand, the reminder of his legacy, the legacy of so many others who perished in the past in the eternal war against the creatures of the night.
Aura.
The manifestation of human will in the form of energy, which all humans possess, but only a small portion of humanity can manipulate such energy. Having such an ability is both a blessing and a curse, as whoever manifests the aura as energy will attract evil creatures whose only goal is the extinction of the human race.
Grimm.
Goenji has lost count of how many times he has fought these creatures, and also the countless times he has fought his own kind to protect his former master. Grimm are monsters, but humans can be even worse monsters.
Lost in his own thoughts, Goenji didn't notice when Ash returned from the kitchen, and the boy's eyes widened when he saw the man manipulating that energy in his hands.
Instinctively Ash's Aura emanated from the body, and Goenji became alert as he felt the enormous pressure of energy. His hand went to the handle of the Katana, but stopped when he saw that the energy was coming from Ash, who was lost in his own thoughts.
Goenji felt his heart fail for a second, never in his life had he seen such innate talent to manipulate aura, not even among the most experienced hunters of Remnant.
Something he thought he lost has returned, the fire in his heart, excitement with uncertainty, this is an opportunity Goenji would never forgive himself if he let it go.
"Ash Ketchum." Ash came back to reality with Goenji's voice, and saw the man standing, staring at him seriously. "I have no money or valuables, but it is my duty to reward those who help me. Your talent for manipulating Aura is the greatest I've seen in all the years of my life, I've made my decision! You will learn everything I know, and you will be my disciple. I don't have a son to let my family's legacy live on for another age, but the Aura doesn't lie, and you are worthy. Rest and eat well, because starting tomorrow I will destroy you to mold a true warrior!
Goenji finished speaking with a smile that threatened to split his face in two, meanwhile, Ash was left wondering what the hell was going on when he signed up to be a disciple of a seemingly insane wanderer?
"What?" Was all Ash could say.
And so began the new page in the life of Ash Ketchum, former trainer and world champion, and now, a Samurai in training against his own will.
Arceus or Giratina must be having fun watching the misadventures of the 'chosen one'.
2 years later...
Atlas, the mighty weaponry kingdom that is feared and admired by all in Remnant. A realm where the miracle of modern science exists as the only floating city in the world, home to the Schnee family who are the main suppliers of dust to the world, and who are also involved in various questionable acts involving Faunus...
But for Ash Ketchum, it was nothing more than his first contact with the western lands, which his sensei called Remnant.
For an entire year, Goenji taught Ash everything he knows about swordsmanship, wrestling, and archery. As much as he tried to dissuade the old man from adopting him as a disciple, Goenji proved extremely stubborn, and in the end all Ash could do was accept that he had no way to escape, and since he had nothing better to do in the mountains , reluctantly began his path in the arts of swordsmanship.
Goenji instructed him about Aura and everything it could do. Ash shamefully admitted that he had never explored his gift since discovering it in Rota's realm. Goenji was extremely intrigued when he heard about this realm, and after his training ended he decided he would visit it to learn more about the origins of the power they both wield.
Speaking of power, Ash was instructed in Semblances, the manifestations of a warrior's soul. For each person there is a unique Semblance, with rare exceptions where a Semblance can be hereditary. Goenji's semblance is simple and terrifying.
Zero, the ability to negate the opponent's aura at the cost of the user's own aura. Simple and deadly, as long as Goenji had aura, the opponent couldn't use the same energy. This served to keep Ash from getting cocky, always getting his ass kicked by a warrior entering old age.
However, all the suffering and effort came with a reward in the form of his own Semblance, but that's a topic for another time. The journey to Remnant was incredibly complicated, and very few ventured into the ocean teeming with aquatic grimm. It was strange for him the fact that there is no Grimm in the ocean after a few kilometers out to sea, it was as if the world was literally divided into two completely different parts, but none of that was of great importance. He managed to get to Atlas, even though it cost practically all of his savings, all that was left were a few Lien, the local currency, which Goenji gave him, as they do not accept pokédollar anywhere in Remnant.
Currently, Ash is heading to the Atlas Helipad, to fulfill his sensei's wish before he can go his own way. Ash wears a simple black kimono with a white obi tied around his waist, which has his Katana sheathed on it. Wooden sandals and a straw hat. Yes, Ash was forced to copy his sensei's attire, but wearing a kimono became second nature during training, it didn't seem right to go back to 'normal' clothes while performing his first task as a Ronin.
Ash learned the basics of what a Samurai is and when he becomes Ronin. Goenji turned Ronin by abandoning his master when he saw the atrocities he committed against Faunus, humans who have characteristics of animals.
But although Goenji abandoned his master, he regretted abandoning the youngest daughter of the Schnee family, and left Ash with the task of finding the girl and delivering a letter. The only clue Goenji gave him is that she would have snow-white hair.
For two weeks Ash searched for Atlas such a girl, but no one gave him any real information, and the capital's military force was beginning to suspect that he was up to something, and so Ash decided that he would leave the city and try his luck in another time. He was running out of money and he wouldn't find an heiress to a wealthy family being a beggar.
'Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr'
Ash's stomach rumbled loudly and several people on the helipad stared at him, making the poor boy blush with embarrassment. "Damn, I must have Lien to buy something, and it doesn't look like Bullhead is going to leave now."
Ash walked to a small stall and bought an apple, he had little money and that was all he could afford. When he was going to bite the fruit, someone bumped into his arm and the apple fell to the ground, being trampled by men who were running and screaming.
Ash's world froze, and he stared in shock at what was once the most beautiful and delicious apple he would ever taste.
"Get back here Miss Schnee!"
"This is an order from Master Jacques, we will not allow you to leave!" Two men yelled at a white-haired girl who fled into an alley.
Ash watched silently, with dead eyes devoid of any emotion. Now you might be wondering: Is he mad that two men are chasing a girl?
Wrong!
They're screwed because they destroyed Ash's apple, and NO ONE comes between Ash Ketchum and his meal.
With slow steps Ash went to the alley, and it didn't take long to see the two men with weapons drawn, and the girl with a rapier ready to be used. White hair in a ponytail, a pretty face even with a small scar, a white dress with icy blue undertones, also wearing a small vest of the same color with long sleeves and red interior, and a pair of long ankle shoes In the white color.
"I just wanted to eat my apple, but then some idiots decided it would be a good idea to spoil that beautiful, tasty apple, unforgivable." Ash said in a steely voice, and when the two men and the girl looked at the source of the voice, they froze at what they saw.
This was Weiss's only chance to escape his cursed father's clutches and get into Beacon Academy. That idiot wanted to force her to marry an aristocrat from Atlas who is 4 times her age, all so that 'someone would set the Schnee heiress straight'.
She'd rather die! And everything was perfectly planned, her application to Beacon Academy had been approved. Weiss would leave the house at night, take the first Bullhead to the kingdom of the Valley where he would land on the helipad of the Beacon Academy airship, and would only return home when he was strong enough to prevent his father from trying one more of his tricks. .
But Weiss underestimated Jacques Schnee. Her father somehow found out about her plans, and the moment she set her first foot outside the Schnee mansion, the guards began a relentless pursuit. Her entire supply of dust has been used up, yet two guards have managed to chase her to the helipad, and all she can do is fight or give up her freedom.
Even without dust, Weiss wielded his Myrtenaster, but when he was about to enter combat, he heard an unknown voice. Looking at the source of the sound, he saw a boy, probably his age, wearing typical clothes of people who came from Mistral, a black kimono, straw hat hiding his face in a shadow, and a sword at his waist.
Did he come to help her? Or worse, was he someone hired by her father?
The answer came when the boy glowed in a bluish tone and disappeared at high speed, reappearing in front of her. Weiss jumped backwards into the wall at the sudden movement. The two guards fell unconscious to the ground, and Weiss realized that he had a Katana in hand, the blade was on the inside of the sword, and the lack of blood on the guards made Weiss a little relieved. Even if they were chasing her, they were just following orders, they didn't deserve to die.
He sheathed his weapon and removed his straw hat. Weiss could finally see the boy's face, he had messy hair, and a pretty face, he wasn't extremely handsome, but he wasn't ugly either, but what caught her attention was the fact that he had a scar on his right eye, and that eye was always closed.
An ironic similarity as her right eye is also scarred.
"They won't bother you anymore. Did you get hurt?" He said in a softer tone, with a worried look.
Weiss took a deep breath and gave him her best imposing look. "Thank you for your help, although it wasn't necessary, I had the situation under my control, I'm Weiss Schnee, could you tell me your name?" The boy blinked twice at the overly formal tone, and his eyes widened as he reached some sort of conclusion.
He grabbed both of Weiss's hands, making her blush with embarrassment, and started shaking them excitedly. "By Arceus I don't believe it! Of all the times to find you, it would be just when I had given up! My sensei would make me train non-stop for an entire week if I failed to complete that damn task." Weiss disengaged and tried to pull away from her, but her back was already against the wall, and that made her blush even more as the boy was dangerously close to her for his own comfort.
"You pervert, stay away from me!" Weiss put his hand on the boy's chest to push him away, but realized that underneath that kimono the boy was hiding muscles in development, and as Weiss never went through this type of situation, he started to stutter and was on the verge of having a nervous breakdown.
The boy realized he was bothering her, pulled away and tilted his head to the side without understanding. Weiss couldn't believe how clueless that boy seemed to be, no one can be that innocent...can they?
He scratched the back of his head and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry I got so excited I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ash Ketchum, and my sensei has a letter for you." Ash put a hand inside his kimono and pulled out a simple envelope, handing it to Weiss, who took it and opened the letter, and when he started to read it, his eyes filled with tears.
Snowflake, if you are reading this letter, please know that I am alive and safe.
I'm sorry for breaking my promise, but I couldn't remain indifferent to the atrocities that your father, my lord, was doing against defenseless people, just because they look a little different than usual.
I believe that all humans and faunus can live without conflict, but I understand if you have fears about faunus, after all, I was present in several assassination attempts directed at your family, from the terrorist group White Fang.
I hope you have grown up to be a beautiful young woman who holds the dream of making your family's company worthy of your grandfather's legacy, I would love to be by your side to see the day when you take over as head of SDC, unfortunately, is yet another promise I failed to keep.
This boy who gave you the letter is my disciple and heir, Ash Ketchum. I taught him everything I know, and even though he's a complete idiot about many things, his heart is in the right place and if you give him a chance, he'll be the best friend you could ever wish for.
Don't underestimate him, he may seem naive, but he's faced the worst the world has to offer and still hasn't succumbed to despair. I'm afraid he'll be lost if he doesn't have someone to stand by him, so I beg you to accept the request of an old man who has abandoned his duty.
Try to be friends with Ash. He has nothing left, it's not my place to talk about his past, but this boy has sacrificed so much for the world and lost everything for it. The only thing I can say is that he came from the eastern lands I told you about when you were little.
Weiss, I hope to see you again one day, but if that's not possible, know that I will be proud no matter which path you choose.
Attentively
Satoru Goenji
Ronin, formerly a samurai serving for the Schnee family
She tried to contain her emotions, but it was no use. Goenji was the closest thing to a father she had growing up, and when he ran away, her world shattered. Finding out that he ran away because of her bastard father was just one more thing on the long list of reasons why she hates Jacques Schnee.
And the boy in front of her is Goenji's disciple, so it's impossible for him not to be trusted, and Weiss owes him a huge debt, not only for 'saving' her even though she had full confidence that she could overcome two unskilled guards. to use aura. It was the fact that Ash gave her the letter that was extremely important to her.
Because Goenji was alive, and that's what matters.
Weiss was snapped out of her thoughts when a rumbling growl echoed in the alleyway. Immediately she was on her guard, expecting a Beowulf to appear at any moment, but what she saw made a comical droplet fall on the back of her neck.
Ash was clutching his stomach, and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Those two idiots spoiled the apple I was going to eat, and I'm starving. Normally I would never ask for anything to help someone, but if it's possible, buy me another apple and I swear I'll never bother you again." Ash did his best not to piss the girl off, and he didn't see any absurdity in her request, but the look on Weiss's face, well...
It made him want to run back into the hills.
Weis slowly approached him, and with each step she took, Ash backed away. "Are you saying that the reward for saving me is only worth an apple? A DAMN APPLE?!" She grabbed Ash by the neck and started to shake him comically, and Ash's soul threatened to come out of his mouth, all he wanted was to eat an apple and now he has a crazy girl screaming at him.
Why are all the girls he meets crazy?
Ten minutes and a bruised ego later, we can see a 'couple' of teenagers boarding an Atlesian Bullhead.
Ash is eating an apple with a goofy smile on his face, and Weiss refuses to look at the idiot boy accompanying her. It was a blow to her ego to realize that Ash was serious about the apple.
In that idiot's head, Weiss Schnee's freedom is worth a damn apple! If not for Goenji's letter and the fact that she owes him, Ash would have met Myrtenaster in a painful way.
Weiss' thoughts were interrupted when they both boarded the Bullhead. She paid for her companion's ticket and they both had to sit side by side. Normally she wouldn't mind, but some of Ash's actions intrigued her.
He was looking into Bullhead's interior with the curiosity of a child, hell, she could have sworn she saw the boy's eye glint at times, and it left her with an inner conflict, for her entire life, interactions with boys her age were summed up to her younger brother, and boys who tried their luck in getting her hand in marriage. Never before had Weiss seen anyone who didn't have any malicious intent beside her.
No, she must be wrong, no one can be that naive, and this charade ends now. "Ash Ketchum, tell me what you really want from me." Weiss said in a serious tone, drawing his attention and he stared at her without understanding what was really going on.
Ash was silent, and his neutral expression made Weiss uncomfortable, what kind of wicked thoughts are on his mind? Slowly, not at all decent scenarios began to emerge for the heiress, who began to blush with embarrassment.
Weiss is a pervert, even if she hasn't yet accepted that fact.
But again Ash managed to shatter their expectations.
"Can I have another apple?" Weiss nearly fell to the ground in shock at the unbelievable request.
"No!" She screamed and the passengers stared at her, making Weiss even more embarrassed by what she had just done, but something else made her uneasy.
It was the fact that Ash was so sad that she started to feel guilty. At that moment, Weiss Schnee came to a shocking realization.
His innocence is not an act!
By the two God-brothers! She has found perhaps the only teenager in all of Remnant who seems to have the mind of a ten year old! Why the hell are passengers staring at her like SHE is a monster? And why is Ash crying?!
"Look at that girl fighting the poor guy, deplorable."
"That young boy was so kind to the girl and she stopped him from eating a single apple."
"Mommy, what is the white-haired lady doing?"
"Don't look honey, but don't be like her when you grow up."
Weiss panicked and spoke to his escort. "Fine, you can have as many apples as you want Ash, but please stop crying!" Ash's sadness quickly faded, giving way to a smile of pure happiness, seeing that made Weiss's heart skip a beat, how can someone be so silly and cute at the same time?
That last thought made her freeze, what the hell is she thinking?!
"Thank you Weiss, but I don't want to abuse your goodwill, it's not right to take advantage of a friend." The heiress was confused, did she hear right?
"What did you say?" Ash didn't notice the confusion and looked to the window, where the moonlight illuminated his face, and that was a scene that Weiss would never forget.
"I said we are friends, and my friends are the most important thing in my life. It is not right to take advantage of a friend's kindness." A stewardess brought a cart where a fruit basket contained some apples.
"Good evening, would you like something to eat?" Weiss wasted no time remembering the woman's name, not even her face, she took two apples and handed one to Ash's hands, who was surprised.
"Weiss?" He tried to talk to his new friend, but was unsuccessful as he saw her avoiding his gaze.
"Shut up and take that apple! No friend of mine is going to be sad because of a simple fruit, now eat soon and let me sleep, the journey will be long." Ash blinked twice and shrugged, happily biting the fruit in his hands.
Weiss waited until Ash was focused on the apple and looked into his face, that joy at something so simple, without any malice, was a scene she never imagined she would have the opportunity to witness.
Normally she wouldn't mind apples, it's not a fruit she likes, but it was in her hands it felt special, and when she took a bite, for some reason the fruit tasted great. Without her realizing it, she was smiling, just like Ash Ketchum, the strange boy she met, and who became something so important in such a short time.
Your first friend.
And that concludes the first chapter of this story. It was surprisingly satisfying to write this version of Ash. Someone who suffered for something he didn't deserve, and still manages to maintain his essence. It would be easier to write a cold and emotionless Ash, as I have done and seen in some stories, but frankly? It doesn't seem right.
Ash Ketchum is known for being the dreamy boy who, despite being naive, knows when to get serious and is always willing to help people and make a new friend, and why should that be any different?
As you can see, I took the liberty of changing the events of both the Pokémon universe and the RWBY universe. In case it wasn't clear, in this story, Remnant and the continents of the Pokémon world are on the same planet, and the lack of contact between the worlds is justified by the absurd difficulty of traveling across an ocean full of grimm.
Some curiosities: The moon is NOT broken in this story, it may seem like useless information, but accept it anyway.
Will Ash go back to Kanto? Will Pokemon characters play a role in the story? Will we see Pokémon battles?
To all these questions, the answer is YES. But all in due time.
Romantic couple? For this question, all I can say is that it will probably have it in the future, but it's not a complete certainty. It could be a single pair, or a harem, or it could even have no romantic partner at all.
About character ages:
RWBY characters remain the same character as the original work
Pokémon characters will have their ages changed as they are introduced.
Ash's Age: 17 Years.
Goenji's age: 55 years old.
At what point in the RWBY work does this story begin? As I tried to imply, the story will start according to the chronological order of the anime, Ash met Weiss at the moment she leaves for the kingdom of the Valley.
Thanks for reading the story and see you soon.
