"Good morning, pretty flower," Seth said.
Floretta giggled when she felt his lips against hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and allowed him to pull her up to sit before she opened her eyes. The same ritual every morning. She loved waking up like this.
"Good morning, gorgeous," she said.
"I am gorgeous, aren't I?" He grinned.
"And I see we chose to be silly today," she said.
He chuckled and leaned in for another quick kiss.
"If you wanna hit the shower, I'll make pancakes for breakfast," he said.
"That sounds like a great idea," she said.
She reached for her phone but stopped midair.
"What is it?" He asked.
"It's upside down," she said. "I never leave it upside down."
"You must have flipped it over in your sleep then," he said.
"I've never done that before," she said.
"Sometimes we do weird shit in our sleep. Don't worry about it," he said.
She tried agreeing with him but she had a bad feeling inside that she couldn't shake. Something felt off but she couldn't put her finger on it. She grabbed her phone and went to the bathroom to shower. She managed to shake most of the feeling under the water. After drying herself and getting dressed, she walked towards the kitchen.
"Floretta! My pretty flower!" Seth called.
"Coming!" She called back.
She walked into the kitchen with a smile on her face while he placed a plate of pancakes on the table.
"It smells and looks heavenly," she said.
"Hopefully it tastes heavenly too," he said.
"It always does," she said.
She sat down and started eating a pancake. He gave her the cutest smile and she couldn't help but giggle.
"Alright, what do you want? You only look at me like that when you want something," she said.
"I was just wondering if you thought more about maybe getting a dog?" He asked.
"That reminds me," she grabbed her phone. "Charlotte and Andrade just got one. She sent me pictures yesterday. It's so cute."
She opened the gallery on her phone, and her smile dropped. Clearly something was way off.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Did you take these?" She asked.
She handed him the phone and he looked at three pictures of her sleeping. The date said they were taken during last night.
"No," he said.
"Someone did," she pulled her phone back. "Maybe you took them in your sleep."
"Why would I get out of bed to take pictures of you sleeping in my sleep?" He asked.
"I don't know but someone did," she said.
"Maybe we have a ghost," he joked.
"It's not funny," she said.
"I know," he sighed. "Maybe I did sleepwalk. That's the only thing that makes sense. I'm sorry for scaring you."
"You didn't know," she said.
She put her phone down, grabbed her fork, and continued eating. The bad feeling was back full force no matter how hard she tried to shake it. Seth sleepwalking and taking pictures of her was the only thing that made sense but still something felt way off. Maybe they did have a ghost.
