So this is a request 2 parter for *Fanofeverything*
The first chapter will be for genderbent Usagi/Mamoru from sailor moon. Usaku and Madoka were the best names I could think of for their genderbent versions. Also the dynamic of quiet, protective tall GF & Short, golden retriever boyfriend is adorable.
Usaku ran towards the ocean excitedly, his blue eyes beaming with happiness, staring out at the vast golden sands and blue ocean. He wanted to make the most of this, making memories to look back on someday, this was their first official trip together since they started dating, the first step as adults in their relationship. Every day he felt so lucky to have a girl like her in his life, that they had met by chance and found out how perfect they were for one another. This felt like a dream come true and he didn't know what to say, there weren't enough words to express how happy Madoka made him. His parents had been surprised and yet over the moon, praising him for finding such a wonderful girl, she was book-smart, studious, patient and most of all loved their son, his complete opposite. Keeping him grounded and helping him grow up. She was a good influence on him and Usaku had become a better person for meeting her, learning more responsibility. He and Madoka had been planning a trip for ages, finally using their holiday time from middle school and high school, all of his classmates and fellow scouts were surprised when he announced their trip together. Claiming how mature it was and how Usaku was finally growing up embarrassing him. Madoka's exams were over and Usaku had been working really hard, he often dealt with burnout, got distracted easily and had a hard time focusing. Now he was being rewarded, he was able to have some fun.
Madoka smiled warmly at him from the car, watching his eyes beam with happiness, burning the memory of her boyfriend happily admiring the ocean into her memory. The sun shining off his golden hair, illuminating him like an angelic being. This one blissful carefree moment of utter happiness, he was pure sunshine and always made her feel happiest. No matter what threats were on the horizon, what enemies lay ahead of them, she would never be alone. Even when she had prophetic dreams, nightmares of what was to come and the dangers they faced. He always comforted her, helped her make a plan, helped her believe they would be safe. She had rented a small cottage near the ocean, giving them more privacy and allowing them to have more time on the beach together, nobody to intrude, nobody to interrupt. None of the other sailor scouts to involve themselves, none of the other scouts to come between them or distract them. They had all the time in the world to be together.
"Madoka-chan, it's so beautiful" he beamed, he never wanted this moment to end, he never wanted to go home. This felt like something out of the pages of a book, their own romantic story.
"You've been working so hard at your exams, I thought we deserved a break" she smiled, he deserved to be spoiled, he deserved to be rewarded and get presents like anyone else. He was only human and he had weaknesses like anyone else, so she had booked this for them both. They were both overwhelmed and needed time to themsleves, Usaku had never been in the top of his classes with his grades, but he had been improving with her help, surprising his teachers. But more so surprising his parents, whom always believed he would be a failure, a dropout or never achieve anything in life.
"That's because you're such a good tutor" Usaku beamed, he'd learned so much thanks to her, using her formula's to help him in class. Compared to people who yelled at him, berated him, called him useless, stupid and a lost cause. She was patient, gave him a better learning style, teaching method and encouraged him. She believed in him to achieve, grow and improve.
Madoka blushed, even when she felt like she was a failure, even when she pushed herself too hard, Usaku was always there to cheer her on. When she made mistakes in an essay because she was tired, when she forgot about dates or arrangements due to focusing too much. When she had overworked herself, he came over to make sure she took a rest and took a break. Bringing snacks, helping her make tea, take a nap and even have cuddles. Usaku made sure she took time for herself, made sure she reminded to eat, made sure she took a nap. Her eyes softening as she admired him fondly, reminding herself of how lucky she was. She was always teased for being quiet, for being the top of her class and seemingly antisocial, when in reality she was introverted, studios and socially awkward. She enjoyed her own company, literature and personal space, she never felt like she needed to explain to anyone. But through Usaku, she was able to overcome her social anxiety, found someone who enjoyed her company and helped her express herself better.
Usaku knelt down collecting shells happily, admiring small fish swimming in the ocean, the warmth of the sun on his skin. The fish tickling his skin, the water was cool on his hot skin, the sound of seagulls in the distance. He had changed into a pair of blue shorts with a red octopus print, he had always loved the ocean, the smell of the sea, the creatures that lived in it, how peaceful it was. But then living on the moon, such things had never existed, which is why on earth, he found them so fascinating. Now that he had his memories of his past life, alongside the accumulated ones he had formed reincarnated as a human, he was able to value life so much more. He was often teased for having girly hobbies, such as a love for stuffed toys, comic books and having a sweet tooth. His mother never minded his hobbies, but she did worry about his grades and his future. Having something to cuddle when he was sad made him feel better, comic books helped him escape reality. But Madoka never cared about that sort of thing, given she never acted girly herself, she appreciated any gifts he gave her, she loved him for who he was. Even when he cried, when he was stressed or upset, she would comfort him, hold him and make it all go away. She loved watching him do what he loved and supported him. His eye then caught something buried in the sand, shining in front of him like a star, glinting in the sunlight, reflecting off the water. He watched it intently, trying to make out the shape as he got closer, a pink moon-snail shell. It wasn't damaged, it was intact and the colour was very bright, he buried his hand into the wet sand, fishing it out to admire it in his palm. Washing off the residual sand and making sure it was clean, smiling warmly.
Madoka stood nearby, wearing a white beach hooded beach jacket with pockets, admiring her boyfriend in his happy place. She was still wearing her glasses, her hair tied into a braid that fell down her shoulder, wearing a lilac coloured bikini. Though could use contacts she never did unless she deemed it necessary. She loved seeing Mamoru so happy, a carefree childlike happiness that warmed her heart. When they weren't protecting the earth from otherworldly threats, enemies from their future or the past, moments like this were treasured the most, the peaceful in-between. Reminding her of the person she needed to protect the most from danger, the one person she could never lose. She could watch him for hours, the man she loved, her soulmate that transcended time, her prince in a past life.
Usaku noticed her watching and approached her with a happy smile, splashing through the water and onto the sand. Shielding something in his hand, still wearing a dorky smile "Hey Madoka-chan, can you close your eyes for a sec?" he asked hopefully. Madoka blinked, she knew Mamoru wasn't the type of person to play cruel pranks, he was too sweet. She wondered what he was up to exactly and what he had in mind. He was beaming at her with puppy-dog eyes she couldn't resist, melting her from the inside out, how could she say no to him? She sighed, closing her eyes curiously and waiting for her surprise. Usaku took her hand patiently, opening it and placing something inside, making sure not to drop or damage it; before curling her fingers around it protectively and releasing her hand. "You can open them now" he beamed.
Madoka opened her eyes, carefully opening her hand hesitantly, hoping he hadn't placed a piece of seaweed or something unpleasant into her hand. Her eyes widened, sparkling with happiness as she revealed a pink moonshell in her hand, curled to appear like the a snail, but a beautiful pink colour. While he was sifting through the sand, Usaku had found a shell and thoughtfully given it to her. She felt guilty for assuming he would play a mean trick on her "Usaku-kun..." she mumbled. She would treasure it, placing it on her bedside table next to her picture of him.
Usaku blushed shyly, kicking his feet bashfully, he knew it wasn't something expensive, but he thought of her and knew she would like it. As her boyfriend he wanted to do nice things for her, thoughtful gestures that would make her smile. She was always doing kind things for him, study dates, cafe dates, listening to him complain about his problems. He didn't know where he would be without her "I... I know I was the prince of the moon, but you'll always be my princess, and this... just reminded me of back then..." he trailed off. The memories they shared, having to sneak around so they wouldn't be caught, supposed to be enemies but instead fell deeply in love.
Madoka blushed, Usaku had never seen himself as a prince due to the fact that he was a crybaby, even when he made mistakes and could be a klutz. He was always there for others, optimistic and loyal. Internally screaming with happiness and crying at how cute he was, Usaku was the sweetest, most genuine person she had ever met. Of all the guys in the world she could be with, she would always choose him, often bullied by his peers for being a daydreamer, lazy and having perceived girly hobbies. He wore his heart on his sleeve and romantic gestures came so easily to him, he made sure she was loved, he was always there when she needed him. But he was brave, loyal, perceptive, passionate and intuitive, he was always there for his friends. Yes, he may have appeared like a dork to others, but to her he was always her prince, he would always try to help his enemies, believing they could change for the better, and saddened when she couldn't help them. She would gladly raise her sword to protect him, to ensure that her prince always remained happy. Nobody knew how brave he actually was, the heartache and grief that he hid under his smile. She leaned down, kissing him softly, still cradling the shell in her hand protectively, she would treasure this. "Arigato Usaku-kun" she whispered softly. Usaku blushed, though she didn't appear so due to her quiet and reserved demeanour, Madoka was shyer than she appeared, being a very affectionate person. He knew she truly loved the present, pleased she had liked it. She carefully wrapped the shell in a cloth, placing it within her bag, assuring it would be protected. Then took his hand in her own, intertwining their fingers as she gazed down at him fondly "Shall we get some ice cream?" she asked. Usaku's expression filled with excitement as he nodded eagerly.
Usaku and Madoka stood patiently by an ice cream vendor, cool and hiding from the heat as they waited for other customers to get their order. This small trip together had turned out to be just what they needed, allowing them to recharge. The gentle ocean breeze blowing against their skin, the crash of the ocean against the cliffs, enjoying the sound of the ocean. However, they were not the only people here which was proving to be a nuisance, Madoka could hear people whispering, there were bound to be other people enjoying mini breaks and holidays, but they were awfully nosy. She'd become aware of the attention directed towards the two of them, but for different reasons entirely, she felt eyes on her, staring at her like a piece of meat. Sighing in frustration under her breath, she was used to this, but she wouldn't let this ruin the trip she organised. She wouldn't let pests ruin her happy moment with her boyfriend, trying her best to block them out and ignore them.
People were often always commenting on her height and appearance, ever since she was young, but then she had grown up an orphan and had never known her parents. Due to her intense blue eyes and silky black hair, the silent beauty she was often called, she never spoke but she was a beautiful child. As she got older it got worse, she was always attracting unwanted attention never giving her any peace, she'd rejected so many confessions people assumed she was stuck up. People often telling her she looked like a model and needed to get into that sort of business, asking why she spent her time studying and reading books when she could be dating? Offering to set her up with guys all the time much to her annoyance, often telling classmates to stop meddling in her business and getting unfortunate mens hopes up. Her classmates showered her with questions, why she was so serious and why she was always by herself? Could she ever smile? Could she ever be in a good mood and didn't she ever get lonely. Unaware that she was a vigilante by night, donning the form of Tuxedo mask, which was later an alter ego of her true self. She hunted down enemies and tried to find clues to her past life. Protecting the world from supernatural threats that would harm humans and her loved ones, to regain the silver crystal. Eventually regaining her forgotten memories of her past life, of the people that tore them apart, back when she was Princess Erica. The princess of the earth, the princess whom captured the love of the moon prince, she and Usaku were in a forbidden love affair as prince and princess. Many tried to tear them apart, many people whom had been in love with her. A large majority of her life she had lived with amnesia of her past life, never knowing who her parents were, never knowing who she truly was. Who the prince was in her dreams, the moon kingdom and why she needed to find the silver crystal. Then she was reunited with her past lover Prince Serenity, reborn as Usaku Tsukino, Sailor moon. They found one another after she was kidnaped, brainwashed, nearly killed and forced into becoming his enemy before she broke free of the conditioning. She had learned to protect herself against enemies, preparing that she would never be placed in harms way again. She was trained in martial arts and other forms of combat, she was capable of sneaking around like a gymnast cat burglar. Her classmates would never believe her true identity and secret life, the person they never knew. Unaware of the superhuman abilities that she was capable of summoning.
'Who's that girl?"
"She's so pretty, is she a model?"
"She's so tall, someone like her has to be"
"Who's that guy with her? Kid brother maybe?"
"What's a dork like that doing with such a babe?"
Madoka's expression hardened into a frown, it was bad enough that they were making comments about her, she was used to being isolated, bullied and harassed. All the guys in her class trying to ask for a date to which she rejected them in favour of Usaku, often complaining and upset that someone else had gotten there first. Like it was a competition to date her, like she was incapable of making a choice for herself. All of them merely liked her for her appearance, but would never accept her as she was, they would never accept that she focused on her studies, her future and was a naturally introverted person. Usaku was merely happy to be with her, supporting all of her hobbies and interests, he never made her feel insecure. When she would buy him roses and he would buy her bright happy flowers, never forgetting a special occasion. Or when he remembered a book she really wanted, he would rush to the shop to get it for her, even if the line was long and it cost a lot of money. In return, she remembered his favourite cafe, she would treat him to tea and cake. They understood one another, loving them for their flaws and all, he was never intimidated by her height, he loved her for who he was. They lacked to see the goodness in Usaku that shone through naturally, aware that she was a kind person, loving and loyal. The same way he was never bothered for her height, she never cared how immature people saw him, she knew his heart, his true self. Whether people thought he was childish; she couldn't care in the slightest, she loved him.
"Madoka-chan? What ice cream do you want?" Usaku questioned, pulling her from her daze. He wanted to get her something she liked instead of merely guessing.
"Why's he using her first name?"
"Why so informal?"
Madoka snapped out of her daze, gazing at the many flavours curiously, realising that they were next in the queue while she had been distracted. They all sounded very delicious, but she needed to make a choice. She leaned towards the freezer and gazed at all the flavours curiously before making a decision "Matcha, Vanilla please" she smiled.
Usaku nodded turning to the vendor, he already knew what he wanted so this would be easy, "One strawberry please and a matcha vanilla two scoop" he asked. It would be a nice relief from the heat, the vendor nodded tending to their order. He knew Madoka would try and find her wallet, but there was no need "You spoiled us to this holiday, the least I can do is get you ice cream" he smiled. He didn't want her to pay for everything, he wanted to provide something at least.
Madoka gazed fondly at him, she would never find another person like Usaku no matter how hard she tried, he was one in a million. The sweet gestures like this were what meant the most. She smiled warmly "First a shell and now ice cream? You're spoiling me" she hummed. Her handsome sailor guardian and her prince, the person she would always look to for comfort.
"I know how much it makes you smile" he grinned, he wanted to treat her every now and again despite her independence. It was nice to do kind things for the person you loved.
Madoka and Mamoru sat on the sand, enjoying their ice cream, feeling the warm sun on their skin, admiring the ocean as the sweet icy treat hit their tongues. People watching and muttering, assuming they had to be siblings, she could care less what people thought, as long as they didn't bully him. They made a cute couple and she knew it, they brought out the best in each other and the always wore lovestruck expressions.
"Madoka-chan, those people... were they saying mean things to you?" Usaku questioned, he had sensed she began to close off when she heard people talking. Going into a reflective mood that caused her to space out. He knew Madoka was often harassed by guys and she didn't get along with her classmates. Madoka blinked, caught off guard, Usaku's surprise perception was something she was never prepared for.
"I... I know you get insecure about your height sometimes, that people call you strange for how quiet you are. But... I love you just the way you are, I love when I get to rest my head on your lap as you read to me. How much you've helped me improve my studies, and you don't mind my hobbies" he smiled. He thought she was beautiful, she was like a goddess, she made him feel safe and loved. She let him ride on her back sometimes, when she would carry him when he was tired or hurt, he was often swooning. He knew whenever she was quiet, she was often just spacing out or deep in thought, wondering what was going through her head. He loved hearing her stories as they helped him sleep. She was very supportive of him and never made him feel like a failure.
Madoka softened, she loved how he remembered all the small things and how his eyes lit up when he thought about them. She never questioned if Usaku loved her, because it was always something she never had to question. She stroked his face fondly "Their words don't matter, besides, you've already helped me forget" she reassured him, Usaku softened. She reached across, wiping ice cream from his cheek and licking it with her thumb, causing him to blush "My dumpling" she hummed. Footsteps were overheard, approaching closer and closer from the distance, people muttering amongst themselves.
"Hey baby, dump the kid and lets go have some fun, I'll buy you all the ice cream you want" a voice beckoned to her.
"Ditch the loser and come join us"
Madoka averted her gaze, she had been enjoying the peace and quiet, but someone had rudely interrupted them. Looking up from her glasses curiously with a bored expression, noticing some much older men standing nearby, older than Usaku but closer to her in age. It didn't take much to guess what kind of men they were, undoubtedly popular in their school, the bullies and delinquents. The kinds of people who got kicks from harassing and tormenting others, but she had no interest. She saw the look of worry in Usaku's face, the fear of something bad happening, for all he had fought enemies before, he would never fight another person. She sighed, ignoring them for her ice cream, their biggest mistake was calling Usaku a loser and making him feel bad about himself "Usaku? Do you want some?" she offered. Usaku blinked, before taking a taste of her ice cream, wondering if they were going to leave, the matcha was bitter but the vanilla was creamy, an odd taste.
"Leave the kid to his ice cream, let's go have fun" one of the guys coaxed
Usaku frowned, he may have been younger but he wasn't an idiot, there was no way he was going to ignore this. These men were harassing his girlfriend, though she was acting unbothered by them, he didn't like the way they were looking at her or speaking about her. He loved her, he would always protect her and he would always be there for her, she was a person not an object. He mustered up his courage, his eyes gleaming with anger and courage "She said back off!" Usaku snapped. He'd faced worse enemies than some obnoxious bullies. Madoka's eyes widened at his temper, she hadn't expected Usaku to lash out, these men weren't villains like the dark moon. They were just arrogant jerks who had never been given no for an answer, entitled.
The men staring at him in surprise, before bursting into laughter "Aw, does the wimp finally want to play big boy?" one teased.
"He's so scrawny too, leave the little baby to his ice cream"
A look of sadness formed on Usaku's face, he was aware he was younger, that he had a babyface and he was still growing up. He was going to make mistakes and he was still learning, but he wasn't an idiot. He didn't like being made to be ashamed of himself.
"Aww is he going to cry? What a baby!" they teased
Madoka's eyes darkened, her temper flaring, wishing more than anything she could use her powers on them. Men like this never learned unless it was the hard way. She could tolerate harassment, but she wouldn't let anyone speak badly of Usaku. She slowly got to her feet, brushing sand from her behind, Usaku still holding her ice cream and watching nervously with teary eyes. Approaching them, not speaking a word as she stalked towards them, her eyes dark and impatient. Usaku watching with worry.
"C'mon baby, we'll have fun together" one coaxed. Madoka reached out, gripping one of the men's arms, causing him to briefly smirk as if he had just won. However, Madoka gripped his arm, twisting it behind his back, taking him by surprise and causing him to shriek in pain. Did he really think being a sexist bully would get him anywhere, that she would tolerate him speaking like that to her boyfriend? The other men panicking at her gesture, backing away nervously as Madoka tightened her grip, ignoring his cries of pain "Wha...what the hell? Are you crazy?",
"Apologise" Madoka warned coldly, ignoring his cries of pain and thinkingly only of Usaku's tearful expression and sadness. They had been having a lovely time together before they ruined it. This special trip to reward one another for working hard at their exams and achievements. The guy looked confused "You insulted my boyfriend, now apologise" she warned. Did he really think she would ignore all the awful things he had said about Usaku, the way he spoke to her?
The guy looked panicked, realising she wasn't joking, she was seriously angry. She was going to keep hurting him until he apologised for upsetting the guy she was with. She was super protective and probably a little crazy. This wallflower of a girl with scary strength was dating this girly loser? She twisted his arm harder causing him to panic "OK! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" he panicked.
She released his arm, causing him to cradle it and run away in panic, scampering across the sand without looking back. She reached out to punch another in the face, causing him to yell in pain and clutch his face. Madoka glared angrily, "Anyone who insults Usa-kun, has to answer to me" she warned. The men running away in panic, clutching their sore arm and face. Usaku watched in awe as the men scrambled away while Madoka watched them escape with boredom. She had protected him, she had shielded him and she had gotten payback for their cruel words. She sighed wearily before approaching Usaku and taking her ice cream back, though briefly unpleasant she felt much better for having vented her anger. "Thank you for holding it" she smiled,
Usaku gazed at her, his princess, the bravest girl he knew, she may have looked quiet but she was stronger than she looked. She had been his source of comfort and guidance whenever he felt lost. Whenever he doubted himself, felt lost or scared he knew that Madoka would always be there to support him. His heart aching with love, he couldn't be any luckier "Can we take a picture?" he asked.
Madoka smiled warmly and nodding, she couldn't wait to show this off, proving she had a perfect boyfriend, one she would never trade. After retrieving the camera from her bag, she wrapped an arm around Usaku, kissing his cheek. While Usaku laughed, holding the ice cream, a memory of their time together.
"You really don't think I'm immature?" Usaku questioned, he knew he wasn't the most grown up of his friends and they were always looking out for him. But he wasn't helpless, he was capable of looking out for himself. But he was stronger with his friends, he had a good support network of people who cared about him.
Madoka pouted, cupping his face in her hands and sighed "Usaku, I love you just the way you are, my food loving, ditzy boyfriend who wants to protect the world" she reassured him. She wouldn't have him any other way, she wouldn't change a thing about him. She loved how passionate he was about food, she loved how excited he got about every meal. She loved how utterly himself he was, always at his happiest. He was clumsy and he made mistakes but he was human. Usaku blushed, but he smiled, listening to her intently. "You're braver than anyone I know, you'd give your life to save humanity and your enemies, without hesitation" she soothed. He never quit in fight, sometimes he stumbled and he doubted himself but he came back stronger and learned from his experiences. He had shown mercy to enemies and given them a chance at redemption. "You're still new to this, you're still learning, nobody is perfect" she smiled.
Usaku smiled, his eyes filled with tenderness and love, trying not to cry all over again. "And I love that you have special books in your collection, I love how you curl me up on your lap for cuddles. I love that after a long day you collapse on me and recharge. I love that even when you appear blank faced I know how you truly feel. I love how smart you are and how much you care about me. Even though you appear cool you still make mistakes" he praised. He knew that there were books she would never replace, many she would read again and again but never grow bored of. When she held him, she held him close, making him feel safe. She was always there for help and she was always offering help to others. She was flawed like anyone else.
Madoka blushed "See Usaku-kun, we're perfect for each other, my prince" she hummed.
"I'm glad we did this trip" Usaku chuckled
