It had been several hours since Libby and Molly's feeding incident. Libby hadn't returned home, or really been seen anywhere. She's been missing ever since that incident. Meanwhile, Molly was taken to the hospital due to her blood loss. Molly is currently laying in a hospital bed, the wound on her left arm bandaged. Ollie made sure to come with her because he felt bad. He felt like he could've been there earlier and stopped whatever caused this. Molly had passed out on the way to the hospital and the rest of the McGees were called. It was just Molly and Ollie. The 2 of them were sitting in awkward silence for a while.
"Are you feeling any better?" Ollie asked.
Molly looked at Ollie and smiled "Yeah, I'm feeling better" she said half-heartedly.
Then Ollie decided to ask "So, what happened?"
Molly looked at Ollie. What could she say? How could she possibly explain how she ended up like this? She was covered in blood with 2 bitemarks on her arm. Could she tell Ollie the truth? Ollie is already on the fence about the supernatural, this could send him over the edge back into being a Hunter and, despite everything, Libby is still her best friend. She doesn't want anyone potentially hunting down Libby but would Ollie do that?
"Uhh, I fell," Molly said.
Ollie didn't believe this at all. Was Molly hiding something again? He didn't want to press the issue. Considering the state Molly was in, he's just happy that she's alright now. Ollie does really care about her and would hate it if anything bad happened to her. Molly could tell that Ollie didn't really believe this. Ollie already knows about the Ghosts, maybe it was ok to tell him?
Molly sighed and said, "No. That's not true, the truth is that, well."
Molly was hesitating to say it. She looked around and motioned to Ollie to come closer. Ollie was concerned and moved closer to Molly.
Molly spoke quietly "The truth is that Ghosts aren't the only supernatural creatures in Brighton. There are others."
Ollie looked at Molly and realised what she was getting at. It was all starting to make sense, the holes in Molly's arm, the amount of blood she was missing, he knew what was going on.
"You mean, like a Vampire?" Ollie asked.
"You know about Vampires?" Molly asked, still trying to be as quiet as she could.
Ollie spoke confirmedly "Yeah, when I was a Ghost Hunter my family would meet other kinds of Hunters. I've heard a few stories about them, including Vampires. There's a Vampire in Brighton?"
He knew other creatures existed but he and his family had never met one. Only heard stories from other Hunters who did hunt those creatures. If even half of the stories about Vampires he's heard were true, Brighton was in a lot of trouble. Molly was happy that Ollie already knew, so technically she wasn't breaking any Vampire rules. Molly started getting Ollie caught up on the Vampires in Brighton and that Libby was a Vampire, leaving out the fact that Libby was the one who bit her.
"Ollie, now that you know can you promise not to tell anyone about this? Libby made me promise not to tell anyone this." Molly asked.
Ollie looked at Molly, he hated the idea of Molly or anyone else ending up like this, but he could tell Molly really didn't want anyone else to know. So he agreed.
"Ok Molly, I promise I won't tell anyone about Vampires and that's an Ollie-Oath," Ollie said.
Molly smiled. She was relieved that Ollie understood. Although, the fact that he already knew about the supernatural probably helped a lot.
Eventually, The other McGees made it, Sharon, Pete, Darryl and Scratch. They all immediately hugged Molly and began asking her questions.
"Are you ok?" Asked Sharon.
"What happened?" Asked Pete.
"Who did this?" Asked Darryl.
Molly was happy to see her family and assured them that she was fine now. Like before with Ollie, she hopped around the questions and made up obviously fake explanations about how she ended up like this. Pretty much none of them believed it but they didn't want to put her on the spot or make her relive any traumatic events. Scratch stayed silent. He felt awful like it was his fault. He'd never admit it but he blamed himself for not being there to protect her. After a bit, a doctor came into the room.
She asked, "Are you the patient's family?"
Sharon answered, "Yes we are."
The doctor then said "Your daughter has 2 holes on her left arm with approximately a pint and a half of her blood missing. She also appears to have been suffering from excessive bleeding."
"Is she going to be ok?" Sharon asked.
"She'll be fine, we predict that she'll make a full recovery. What's strange is that we've been getting a lot of patients like this. What exactly is causing it we're not sure but all of them seem to be fine aside from some drowsiness." the doctor said.
Scratch then immediately realised exactly what happened. Molly was attacked by a Vampire. The Ghost Council had been bothering him about Vampires in Brighton for weeks but he just didn't care, now Molly was almost killed because he was too lazy to do anything. This made him feel even worse than before. Later that day, Molly was allowed to leave and go home. Molly was told to keep the bandage on for about a week until the marks healed.
Meanwhile, Libby was hiding in the woods. Her clothes were still covered in blood and she was sobbing. Tears of blood streaming down her face. She couldn't believe that she'd done something so awful to Molly. Molly was her best friend, Libby could always depend on her and now she did this? How could Molly ever forgive her? How could she ever forgive herself? These questions rang in Libby's head like a church bell. Libby was on the cusp of a mental breakdown when she heard a familiar voice behind her. A voice she had heard before.
"Libby?" Andrea asked confused.
Libby turned around and only now Andrea noticed all the blood on her and coming from her eyes.
"OMG, are you ok? Do you need an ambulance?" she asked worriedly.
Libby looked down and remembered the blood that cover her clothes and ran down from her eyes.
Libby panicked and blurted out "It, uhh, it's nothing. I'm fine"
Andrea, still worried said "That is not fine you're covered in blood. Don't worry I'll call an ambulance."
Libby suddenly got up and grabbed Andrea's wrist, "NO! Don't call them, I swear I'm ok."
Libby and Andrea looked at each other. Andrea still looked concerned with how much blood Libby was covered in. Libby was contemplating just telling her she was a Vampire, but she knew that she'd get in trouble with the Vampire Council for that. Though, she really couldn't think of another way around that. If she says nothing Andrea will call an ambulance and be taken to a doctor, and they'll definitely know that something is up with her cold body and lack of a heartbeat. It's not that she doesn't trust Andrea, it's that she doesn't trust her as much as she trusts Molly. Does Andrea even know about the supernatural?
As Libby thought, Andrea cut her off saying "Libby, snap out of it"
Libby suddenly realised that she hadn't moved and had just been awkwardly and confusedly staring at her this entire time. Libby really didn't know what to do or how to get out of this.
Andrea looked Libby in the eyes and asked sternly "Libby, what is going on?"
Meanwhile, at the McGee house. Molly was at home laying in bed. She was thinking about that moment when Libby was drinking her blood. She was feeling some conflicted emotions about what happened. She knows Libby would never do that to her on purpose. Did Libby lose control? Did she somehow encourage Libby to drain her? Or, did becoming a Vampire change Libby in some way? Libby had been acting a bit differently lately. She didn't want to even entertain the thought that Libby did that on purpose but, until she talked to Libby, she didn't know. One thing was clear, however.
"I need to talk to Libby," Molly thought to herself.
Scratch then entered her room saying "Hey Moll, you feeling better?"
Molly looked at Scratch, smiled and said "Yeah, I'm fine"
Scratch floated into the room and started speaking.
"Listen, I've been thinking and I think I know what happened," Scratch said.
Molly suddenly became nervous, She didn't want anyone to know what Libby did to her. At least, not before she got a chance to talk to Libby about this.
Scratch then said, "You were attacked by a Vampire, weren't you?"
Molly looked at Scratch, she panicked a little. Scratch was her best friend, and she didn't want to lie to him.
"Libby just lost control, she didn't mean to take that much blood," Molly said trying to defend Libby.
Scratch was surprised by what Molly said. He had no idea that Libby was the Vampire who did this.
"Woah, woah, woah, wait. Libby did this?" Scratch asked in a very surprised tone.
Molly looked at Scratch, realising she had just admitted to Scratch that Libby did this to her. Scratch was shocked, Libby did this? How could she? She was Molly's friend she was Scratch's friend?
Molly, not wanting Scratch to worry, said "Look it's fine I'm going to talk to Libby about this tomorrow. I'm sure it was just an accident or some kind of misunderstanding."
"Wait, Libby tried to eat you and you're going to try and talk to her again?" Scratch said bewildered.
"It's not like she'd actually do that on purpose, I'm sure it was some kind of natural reaction she had or something," Molly said still trying to defend Libby.
Scratch facepalmed. Molly was too forgiving.
"Alright, but I'm coming along this time. If she tried anything I'll be there to stop it." Scratch said.
"That's fair but I'm sure it'll be fine, hehe." Molly said unconvincingly, she then whispered "I hope"
Meanwhile, Libby had just finished telling Andrea everything. That she was a Vampire, that she almost ate Molly and that it was Molly's blood she was covered in. Andrea was surprised, to say the least. She already knew Ghosts exist due to how much she's encountered them in Brighton but she had no idea Vampires did as well.
"So, you're a Vampire? That's umm, odd" Andrea said, not really sure how to react.
Libby looked at Andrea. Libby wasn't sure if she did the right thing telling her, she just really needed someone to vent to.
"I know, I'm a monster, I bit Molly, I, I just lost control. How could I do something like that?" Libby began to go on about what a monster she is.
Andrea sat next to Libby and said "Hey, you aren't a monster. You just made a mistake, I'm sure Molly will forgive you."
Libby looked at Andrea and said, "You really think so?"
"Of course, I mean, let's be honest me and Molly didn't exactly get off to the best start but now we're the best of friends," Andrea said and smiled at Libby.
Libby chuckled awkwardly, she still didn't realise that Molly was Libby's best friend. Nonetheless, she was happy that Andrea had given her some words of advice.
Libby got up and said "Thanks, Andrea. I needed that. Oh by the way please don't ever tell anyone I told you I'm a Vampire."
Andrea got up and said, "Sure, I've read Dawn before I know that stuff needs to be a secret."
Dawn was a romance novel about a Human Girl starting a Lesbian relationship with a Female Vampire. Libby looked at her curiously.
"Yeah uhh, it's more serious than that, if the other Vampires found out, they'll probably kill you. And also me, probably." Libby said.
Andrea made a motion to indicate her lips were zipped. Libby smiled, she was hoping things would work out. Then remembered that she was covered in blood.
"Oh um, do you have any clothes I can borrow Andrea?" Libby asked.
Andrea said "Yeah, but they're back at my house. Come on I'll show you the way."
Andrea walked off while Libby followed.
Meanwhile, Ollie was in his room. He was still worried about Molly. Whatever Vampire attacked her might still be out there. There could even be other Vampires. Ollie's worry started to grow. If there were Vampires in Brighton, he wanted to be ready just in case. So he decided, after seeing how Molly was, he'd go and buy some wooden stakes, Garlic and maybe fashion some crosses. He hopes that he'd never need to use it but, if he did, he wanted to be ready. Should the worst happen, he wanted to protect the people of Brighton.
