Here's the next chapter. I still own everyone but the Coolidge's, Wes, and Dakota. :) Sorry its a bit shorter. Hpoe you enjoy.
Stephan opened his eyes, squinting in the sunlight. He was tired, he had a restless sleep. The dreams were plaguing him, but also he was afraid of what his new foster family was really like. There was a sound on the other side of the room, and he turned his head. Wes was sitting up on the other bed, looking blearily around. His eyes landed on Stephan, and he nodded
"'Morning"
Stephan kept silent, his hand going to the dogs head, and Wes sighed, then quickly got dressed. Slipping his shoes on, he turned to Stephan, who kept his face blank "Just so you remember, today we're going to school. Dakota's taking us." He left, and Stephan let himself relax a bit. He got out of the bed, and grabbed some of Hank's clothes, then changed quickly. When he was done he sank to the floor, resting his head on his knees, he looked up when the dog's wet nose nudged his hand, and he smiled, petting him. He stood up, grunting as he banged his arm, and sighed "You're right. I need to go."
The drive to the school was mostly silent, more so after Dakota dropped Kat off at her middle school. Before she had left, Kat was talking, mostly to Dakota and Wes, but sometimes to Stephan, but now, no one was talking. Dakota pulled into the parking lot, and they got out of the truck, walking towards the school building. Stephan watched as the kids swarmed around the door, and sighed inwardly, it was going to be a long day.
When the lunch bell rang, Stephan followed Wes, who was in his last class before lunch, to the room. They met Dakota by the door, then went in, getting into the line. After they had gotten their food, Wes led him to a table in the back, while Dakota left them to joine her friends. There were already a few people sitting at the table that Wes had sat down at, and after pulling out a chair for Stephan with his foot, he inturdused them "This is Stephan. Stephan this is Hanan, Dilan, Jair, Karan, Jay, and Rebecka"
Stephan nodded, studying each of them, as he sat, then he looked down at his food. Wes turned to one of the boys, Dilan, "Where's Royal?"
"He said he'd be here a bit late- Oh, there he is."
Stephan looked up, to find the person they were talking about. And froze. Royal reached the table, and grinned at his friends "Sorry about that, I had a meeting..." he trailed off as he saw Stephan, then set down his tray with a jolt. "Stephan!" he held out a arm, and Stephan, with a small smile on his face, grabbed his wrist with his good hand
"Timothy."
Stephan stared at his old friend. He seemed to be doing well, much better than when he last saw him. He shuddered, then looked up into Timothy's eyes, reading the question there, he nodded his head to Wes, Timothy smiled, relief in his eyes. As he sat across from Stephan, Wes leaned forward
"You know Stephan? Why'd he call you Timothy?"
Timothy nodded "Stephan's my best friend, we've been in some 'homes' together." he hesitated, then grinned "My name is Timothy."
Hanan leaned forward "What! But-. But you said it was Royal!"
Timothy shrugged, "It is." he laughed at their expressions "Its both. Royal is my middle name. I wanted to try something new."
Wes stiffened, looking behind Timothy "They're here."
A group of four boys crowded around behind Timothy's chair. The leader gripped him on the shoulder in a shew of friendliness, but Stephan could see Timothy hide a wince. The leader saw Stephan, and let go of Timothy, moving towards him. He pulled out a empty chair, and flipping it around, he straddled it, folding his arms across the top, as he studied him. Stephan kept his eyes on the table, not even looking up when the bully slapped it.
Stephan felt Timothy nudge him with his foot, and he looked up at him, to see his head tilted slightly up, eyes closed, in their sign that they were praying for each other. He stared at Timothy for a moment, then turned his eyes on the bully.
The bully smiled "Good, now you can listen." He faltered a bit at the look in Stephan's eyes, it was fierce, and hard, but not angry, more like caring. He shook his head, and glared "What you'll do is bring us money tomorrow..." he trailed off, unnerved by Stephan's gaze, which had hardened even more. The bully stared at Stephan, then abruptly got up and walked away, muttering to himself. Stephan nodded to Timothy, then continued to eat in silence, looking down at the table, ignoring everyone who was staring at him.
Let me know what you think, if its good, or bad, or in between...
Untill next time.
