Judy stared out the window as the limo she was in passed through the tunnel to snow and ice. She was excited. She hadn't been able to visit her goddaughter at all. The last time she saw any of the family was when they brought Duke Weaselton to get information.
She looked up at the huge mansion she was coming to remembering how scared she was the first time she came. It was dark and foreboding, which was to be expected from a crime boss. But now, she wasn't squished against Nick between two polar bears, and she wasn't being forced.
The car rolled into an underground parking area and Judy smiled as the door was opened and accepted a paw to help her jump out. She followed one of the bears down a hall and into a bedroom which was her size. Fru Fru and Mr. Big were standing together on a desk at the foot of the bed and turned around. Fru Fru had on a green shirt with darker green hearts and jeans on and Mr. Big had his regular business suit. "Judy!" Fru Fru squealed. "Come here so I can give you a hug!" Judy walked over to her and let her hug her paw, really the only thing she could barely wrap her arms around.
"Everything going well for you, Judy?" Mr. Big asked.
"Yeah. Nick graduated from the academy and he's my partner on the force now."
"In more ways than one?"
Judy's face scrunched up. "No! We're just best friends. We spend a lot of time together, but we're not attracted to each other."
"I'm just glad he moved past the skunk-butt rugs." Fru Fru said, finally releasing Judy's paw. "Oh! You haven't met Ju Ju!" Fru Fru named her daughter Judy as she said she would, but usually just called her Ju Ju because it was close to her name. "Raymond, could you go get her?" The polar bear that never left the room nodded and walked out. "Any other work friends?"
"Oh, yeah, plenty. Nick and Mark Wolford clicked instantly, and I became friends through them. There's also a tiger names Sasha Delgato and she's one of my really good friends. Then there's a lot of...I'd say... acquaintances. I just call them by their last names, though. Rhinowits, Trunkaby, Snarlov, Higgins...all those guys."
"Bogo?" Mr. Big asked.
Judy scoffed. "Bogo is no one's friend. No one even knows his first name."
The polar bear came back in with a much smaller shrew in his paw. She had a small tuft of black hair on her head and a little blush on her cheeks. She wore a yellow dress that looked really cute and what little hair she had was tied together giving her a top of head ponytail. He let the little shrew off on the desk and she shyly hid behind her mother. "Ju Ju, this is your godmother. Come say hello!"
The little shrew came out a little. "H-hello."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ju Ju." Judy said politely. "I hope you know you have a fantastic mother."
Ju Ju smiled. "Yeah, I know."
Mr. Big spoke back up. "Judy, do you have plans for tonight? We would love to treat you to dinner to let you get acquainted."
"Oh, I'd love to, but I have plans. Me and Nick and some of our friends are going to a club tonight."
"You're not going like that, are you?" Fru Fru asked, looking at Judy's jeans and sequin patterned shirt.
"Well, this is really the only fancy clothes I have."
"Oh, honey, you are not going to a club looking like that. Sit down at the vanity."
