The festival started with a race through an obstacle course but Izuku wasn't worried because he had a plan. A siren went off starting the race and Izuku immediately used his mirror at an angle to super jump ahead then did so again and again until Shoto froze the giant robot (from the entrance exam) which made it fall over. Izuku immediately skipped landing on the ground first and mirror jumped out of there causing a super jump which vaulted him all the way to the tight rope part of the race. Not feeling confident enough to do that again, especially over a giant pit. He simply used the ropes pervaded to get across, once across he started mirror jumping again only to stop after a while because he got to the minefield part. Not having the time to take his time by carefully walking around the mines, he instead decided now was the time mirror jumping onto another mirror again. He did it and was vaulted all the way past Bakugo and Shoto to the finish line, finishing as first.

Of course finishing first came back to bite Izuku in the bite as the next event was a cavalry battle where you attack others for their points because the one with the most points at the end wins and the one with the most points going in was of course Izuku. Luckly this was a team battle so Izuku wouldn't be alone. Ochaco agreed to join his group with him being unaware was that she was doing it to disprove the fact she saw Izuku as a rival. Fumikage also joined the group as well as someone they didn't recognize, her name was Mei.

The battle started with Izuku's group plan was just to avoid everyone until the battle was over, what made it easier for them was that they could go air born anytime they wanted. If anyone got to close while they were air born, they would mirror jump to be even higher which ended up happening. Fumikage and Izuku was on the defense for any far/high shooting quirks which they would negate with Dark Shadow and Poised Apples respectively, which they had to do a lot. With all of this the cavalry battle went smoothly without their points being stolen, not once.
