Chapter 2

Last night was wonderful. After my shower Edward joined Renesme and I in our cottage finally. He waited in our room while I put Renesme to bed.

When I finally made it to the room Edward was lying in the bed reading his book. I eagerly laid beside him while he read all night. He didn't touch me but just him being there was progress and I knew that we were headed in the right direction.

The next day we were all in the living room doing our own things. Rosalie was reading her magazine while Emmett just played with her hair. Edward was playing his piano, it sounded like he was composing something new. Alice was painting her nails. Carlisle and Esme were both reading. And Jasper was teaching Renesme to play chess. It was all perfect. Then suddenly it wasn't.

We all hear Alice gasp and drop her nail polish all over the floor. Jasper rushed to her side tending to her while she was in the middle of a vision.

When she suddenly came out of it she looked wide eyes at Renesme then to Edward who was grounding his teeth in frustration.

"What is it Edward?"

He looks to me in frustration. "The Volturi they're coming for us."

I look to Jasper. If anyone would know what to do it would be him but he was just looking to Alice with what I would consider disgust. I couldn't understand this look. I know now that they aren't mates to one another since Jasper told me, but I couldn't imagine what she could do to pull this type of reaction out of Jasper.

"Why would they be coming for us?" I asked no one in particular.

Jasper was the first to answer. "I am not sure Darlin it's not like we did anything wrong."

"Bella did anyone see Renesme yesterday." Edward asked me more calmy.

"Irina saw her catching snowflakes but she took off before Jasper or I could talk to her, why?"

"Ugh, Bella I thought I have asked you multiple times to be careful. Irina is the one that went to the Volturi. They now think that we have made an immortal child." I gasp.

"But she isn't she was born while I was still human."

"Irina nor the Volturi know that Isabella. We were going to keep her hidden until she was full grown and no one would suspect anything. Because of you and your carelessness that is no longer possible."

"Edward I am sorry, she's been wanting to catch snowflakes I didn't know there would be anyone out there."

"Carlisle what can we do, the Volturi aren't known for being understanding." Edward is now ignoring that I am even there. I didn't mean to let this happen.

"We are going to have to call on our friends for help it's the only way. When the Volturi come we will have witnesses on our side to show them that she is not an immortal."

"I can ask Peter and Charlotte to come, I know they would be more than willing to help Bella."

I can't help but smile I have been wanting to see them for so long now.

"Tell them they cannot hunt in the area Jasper, I know how they live their lives they will not endanger the agreement that we have here with the Sam and the pack, understood?"

"Oh come off it Carlisle you know they wont be a problem and besides they only hunt criminals anyways." Jasper leaves the room I assume to call Peter and Charlotte.

Everyone else is discussing who else to call on and ignoring me so I take off to find Jasper and see what Peter and Charlotte have to say.

I find him a good ways in the backyard closer to the cottage. He probably didn't want everyone else listening in to what he had to say.

"Really Peter you can be here that soon?'

"Of course, I had a feeling we would be needed and we were already headed that way."

I look to Jasper confused.

"Oh come on kitten my knower just told me that you all would be needing us and Char and I dropped everything to come and help you out."

I knew about Peter's "gift" though he hates calling it that. It still always surprised me though when he just knew things.

"Thanks Pete. I can't wait to see y'all."

"Us too little one now don't stress too much about everything. It will all work out in the end you'll see."

I have no idea what he is talking about. How could thing's be okay now that the Volturi were coming after us. This made no sense but I also knew not to question him.

"We will see you tomorrow then brother?"

"We'll be there and yes we already know don't hunt in the area. We will stop before we see y'all."

They hang up the phone. Jasper opens his arms to me and I eagerly accept his hug. He then kisses my head.

"Don't worry Bella we will get through this."

"I hope your right Jasper. I don't want anything to happen to anyone because I was careless."

"Hey now." He pulls me out at arms length and looks me right in the eyes.

"You were not careless. Thing's happen and all we can do now is band together. We have lots of friends that I know will come if we ask. Trust me?"

"Always Jasper." He smiles at me. Besides Peter and Charlotte I am the only other person to have complete faith and trust in him.

"Now come on let's go see what the Brady Bunch has decided."

I can't help but laugh.
