Chapter 22 Avengers: Age of Ultron

Tony's point of view

"OK everyone back to your seats, it's time to watch the next movie. Avengers Age of Ultron"

"Uh oh"

"Ultron? Isn't that the fiasco Thanos started?"

"Ummm… yes"

"Rufus, the synopsis if you please?"

"When Tony Stark jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor, the Incredible Hulk and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff."

I felt very uncomfortable… very squirmy. Pepper took my hand.

Foiling Hydra backfires

"Well that's not good is it…"

"Language!"

"You really do need to watch your language Tony"

"Yeah Morgan and I learned a ton of swears from you"

"Really?"

"Yep… she's more outgoing about saying them, though"

"That means you're a bit more like me"

"Mom threatened to put you over her knee and give your backside a roasting

"Yeah that wasn't smart"

The Glow stick of Destiny

"Be careful with that you do not want to have to go and track it down again"

The Party

"The party was fun but we missed you Pepper… and Jane too"

No Pepper?

"Nope… no Pepper… she was halfway to Paris by then, to negotiate a deal with the French government which would allow us to supply them with towers just like this one"

She's got a company to run. I'm not pressuring her into anything she doesn't want to do.

"That's not actually what happened"

"No?"

"We had a big fight… the worst fight we've ever had."

"What happened?"

"We argued, I said something I shouldn't have said and Pepper slapped me… I deserved every single bit of that slap. I was a horrible awful toxic person… still am as a matter of fact."

"No you're not Tony I wouldn't have returned to you if that was the case."

"Anyway…"

Ultron gone wrong

"You were trying to do the right thing"

"It totally backfired. As usual. Anything that I'm involved in turns to the absolute drizzling shits. I'm beginning to think I should resign from the team… or be expelled"

"Tony…"

"I'm a horrible evil nasty vicious toxic worthless person and that is never ever going to change."

"No you're not Tony. Stop it."

Worthy of lifting Mjölnir?

"Why don't we all try it now?"
"OK"

All of us except for Dr Strange, Loki and Maria Hill were worthy.

F.R.I.D.A.Y.

"Why did you install F.R.I.D.A.Y. Tony?"
"Basically Ultron ate Jarvis and became a tangible being and a threat. He turned the Iron Legion against us and caused chaos then he escaped and the entire team blamed me"

"Why?"

"Well, it was partly my fault… I mean, I created the Iron Legion in the first place and if I hadn't… none of this would have happened… good God! It's time to stop this madness. As of this moment Anthony Edward Stark is NO LONGER an Avenger. It's time for me to step aside."

Wanda and Pietro

"Wanda and Pietro changed sides, because of Strucker's arrogance and unwillingness to listen, right?"
"Yes"

That's the Endgame

You're right"
"You said we'd lose together… when the time comes, you better step up to home plate and start swinging!"

"I will"
"You better."
"Keep your friends rich and your enemies rich and wait to find out which is which."

What, you didn't see that coming?

"Wanda and Pietro started out by trying to kill us and then, they switched sides. Because of Ultron."

Clint's secret.

"You kept us a secret Dad?"
"I had to Lila, you know that"

"That's why we're homeschooled, right?"

"Yes"

"If you guys move to the tower…"
"What, you'd homeschool them?"
"No they could attend the WWE LEARNING ACADEMY that my children go to…"
"How do they get there?"
"We board, mostly. Actually, recently WWE LEARNING ACADEMY merged with Professor Xavier's Academy for the Gifted and we're going to be moving out here once this mission is over."
"Really?"
"Yes"

"Can we Dad?"
"Are you sure you want to do that?"
"Yes"

Thor's discovery

"What did you see Thor?"
"I think I saw what I have feared since I was a child"
"Ragnarök?" asked Loki

"No… worse than that"
"Worse than Ragnarök?"

"Yes…"
Loki's eyes went absolutely enormous"
"You don't mean?"
"Yes"

"What?"

"We're doomed… this is horrible… we're absolutely totally and utterly doomed this is not going to end well. If it's what I think it is, if it's what it appears to be… we're royally unequivocally and totally screwed! "Thor muttered

"No we're not" said Loki

"What do we do?" Thor asked

"Thor, you and Loki go to Asgard, bring everyone here. Leave no one behind."

"OK"

"You can use the tower in DC for your people to stay in."

"Thank you Lady Pepper"

Not one single civilian left

"Your plan will work Tony, you're a genius"
"Pffft yeah right. If these adventures have taught us anything it's Anthony Stark cannot and should not be trusted!"

Pietro's sacrifice

"What does it mean sacrifice?"
"Well… while helping to evacuate Sokovia, Pietro got shot and didn't survive"
Wanda screamed and ran from the room. Nat, Hermione and Clint were right behind her.

"Ten minute recess everyone"

Crashing Sokovia?

"We're not going to have a choice about that, are we?"
"No"

Revealing The true enemy

"WHAT?"
"Who is that guy"
"What does he want?"
"What is he going to do?"
"His name is Thanos, he's from a planet called Titan and in fact, he's known as the Mad Titan. He has this idea in his head that the universe is overburdened and not in a good way and needs correcting. He wants the 6 infinity stones. The time stone, the space stone, the power stone, the mind stone, the reality stone, and the soul stone. If he gets all 6 he will be not only the most powerful being in the universe, he will be able to wipe out 50% of life with just a snap of his fingers"

Shocked gasps echo around the room…
