An electric gate opens at the Bayriver County Sanitarium. An old 1970s station wagon, carrying two men, drives through the open gate and heads for the half filled parking lot. After finding an empty parking space near the door, the driver turns off the engine and the station wagon's occupants get out of the car. The occupants are driver Greg Valentine and passenger Marty Jefferson. After parking and turning the car off, the two men get out of the car.

"We're finally here." said a relieved Marty.

"About time. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time." said Greg.

The two men walk into the building together.

In the waiting room, Greg and Marty are sitting on two chairs near a desk occupied by a Security Guard. Next to the Security Guard's desk are security monitors that show different views of the hospital. Marty glances at the wall clock, which shows that it's TEN O'CLOCK. Though Marty cannot see everything going on in the institution, he can guess by the noises heard throughout the complex.

Taking place beyond a door labeled "Authorized Only", which Greg and Marty cannot see past, are the typical activities that happen at this institution. Activities such as an orderly escorting a patient from one room to another, a doctor arriving to begin his shift, a patient in his room staring at the wall and speaking gibberish to himself, another patient lying on his bed in his room, and a third patient sitting at a table across from his doctor, who is reading the patient's chart.

Back in the waiting room, Marty turns to a window that reveals a hallway of new patients that have arrived at the institution.

"This place is creepier than I expected." stated Marty.

"We've been dreaming about doing this job and already it's scaring you?" asked Greg.

"Not scared. I just thought it would be different."

"What were you expecting?"

"Something more like Terminator 2."

"Ha! We hope for T2 but end up getting 'Asylum."

Marty decides to change the subject.

"I heard that he's here." said Marty.

Greg knows exactly who he's talking about.

"Kevin Lassiter?" asked Greg.

"Mmm-hmm." confirmed Marty.

"No way? The dude that killed two people and almost killed a little girl?"

"That's right."

"I wonder if we will meet him."

"Possibly."

Walking into the waiting room to meet them is the chief doctor, Dr. Gordon Sattler, a man in his fifties, gray hair, and very professional.

"Good morning, fellas. I'm Dr. Gordon Sattler, the Chief Doctor." says the greeting doctor, offering his hand to the men.

Greg and Marty rise from the chairs and each shake his hands.

"Good to meet you, doctor." said Greg.

"Very pleased to meet you." said Marty.

"Pleasure." said Sattler, "Shall we begin?"

"Certainly." said Greg.

"Good. I'll give you a tour of the place." Sattler offers. "Just follow me."

Greg and Marty follow Sattler to the "Authorized Only" door. They watch as Sattle uses an ID card to slide against a scanner, which makes a beeping sound, indicating that the card's usage has unlocked the door. They make a mental note of this. This may become important to them later on. The door opens and Sattler steps in, holding the door, and stepping aside for his new orderlies to enter.

"After you." said Sattler.

The two men enter. They are now in the highly restricted corridor of the hospital where all of the patients reside. Sattler escorts them through the corridor, gesturing to the patients around them.

"We like to treat our patients better than most hospitals do. We give them good food, fresh air, and fun activities. We don't like to treat them like animals. They're human beings just like you and me." Sattler informs them.

"Of course." said Greg.

"Very noble of you to treat them with respect." Marty chimes in with the act of admiring Sattler's gesture.

"They deserve it just like anyone else does." Sattler states as he takes them to a door.

"Let's meet our first patient."

Sattler uses a key to open a door to a patient's room. Upon opening the door, they find a young patient, Simmons, sitting on his bed in a fetal position. He is nervous and scared upon seeing Greg and Marty, who are new faces to him. Sattler attempts to calm his patient by giving him a familiar warm and welcoming smile.

"Good morning, Mr. Simmons." Sattler greets him.

"Good morning, doctor. Who are they? Are they here to hurt me?" asked a scared Simmons.

"No, no, no. They're new friends." Sattler reassures Simmons before turning to the two new men, "You're new to him. He thinks you've come to hurt him."

"Well, we promise not to hurt you." Greg addresses Simmons.

"We're friends. We're here to help you." Marty assured him.

"That's right." Greg adds. "You don't have to be afraid of us."

But this doesn't give the scared patient any comfort. Greg could be lying to him for all Simmons knows.

After they have finished visiting Simmons, Sattler leads them to another door to another patient's room.

"I must warn you...our next patient may be what he seems at first." Sattler warns them."Very deceiving depending on who you see first."

The two new orderlies glance at each other with confusion.

"Who we see first?" asked Greg.

"You'll see." said Sattler as he unlocked the door.

They enter the room of a sweet looking man named Devin.

"Hello, friends." Devin greets them with a bright, friendly, warm, and welcoming smile. What could be wrong with this patient?

"Hello, Devin." Sattler returns the greeting with the same smile. He turns to the new orderlies and gestures to Devin, "This is Devin. He has a split personality disorder. The personality that you're seeing is a very nice and calm one."

"And the other?" asked a curious Greg."

"Well…" said Sattler, turning their attention to Devin as if to say "See for yourself."

Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, Devin becomes somebody entirely different from the

person that they just met a second ago. Angry, filled with rage, and fire in his eyes.

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? GET OUT! GET THE FUCK OUT!" shouted Devin.

Greg and Marty are shocked and are somewhat even frightened by this. Sattler is unfazed by this behavior from his patient. He's used to this. But he can sense that his new orderlies would like to leave the room immediately.

"We can leave." Sattler assures them. "But you'll have to get used to this kind of behavior if you are to stay here."

Sattler escorts them out, leaving Devin to continue his rage-filled yelling to himself. Greg and Marty are walking off their shock over their encounter with Devin as Sattler leads them down the hall.

"That was unexpected." stated Greg.

"Quite frankly, very scary even." Marty added.

If you thought that was scary, wait until you meet our next patient." Sattler states before emphasizing, "Our most infamous patient of all."

That phrase gets Greg and Marty's attention. Are they about to meet who they think they are about to see?

"This patient has been here for about six years now."

Just this information alone gives Greg and Marty enough clues to know who they are about to meet.

"For what?" asked an excited Greg.

"For murder." replied Sattler.

Greg and Marty turn to each other with both excitement and anxiety. The thrill and excitement of something scary. They're like little kids on a roller coaster who are uncertain if they want to experience the big scary drop but are pushing themselves to do so anyway. They know exactly who they are about to meet. The door opens and they are ushered into the patient's room by Sattler. Greg and Marty are starstruck upon seeing this infamous patient. The main attraction of the tour. The main reason most people have even heard of this hospital. Who is this mysterious and infamous patient that they've been waiting to see?

This is Kevin Lassiter, now twenty-two, and more menacing than before even without his Washington costume. He stands at six-foot-three with broad shoulders. He is very lean. His presence is very dark, brooding, and conflicting. His presence gives you the smell of death and with good reason. Greg and Marty feel like they are in the presence of a legend that they grew up hearing about in tales.

"Here he is, gentleman…" Sattler makes the introduction. "Kevin Lassiter."

"Oh, my God! It's really him." Greg whispers to himself.

"The man himself." Marty says to himself in his head.

Sattler proceeds to give them Lassiter's backstory:

"Six years ago, sixteen year old Kevin Lassiter broke into the Stillson family home and murdered sixteen year old Rebecca Winters and her nineteen year old boyfriend Carl Winters. He attempted to murder Rebecca's ten year old sister. But she was rescued by a police officer, who shot and arrested him."

Greg and Marty are hardly listening. They already know the whole story. Everybody does. It is the most infamous story of Bayriver County. It is the only reason that anyone outside of their county has even heard of them.

"Kevin..." Sattler calls out to his patient, who is not even looking in their direction. "These two gentlemen are Greg Valentine and Marty Jefferson. They are our new orderlies."

Lassiter doesn't respond to this. He has no interest in meeting them.

"Hello, Mr. Lassiter." Greg greets him.

"You'll be seeing these guys a lot more these days now." Sattler informs Lassiter.

"We look forward to working with you, Mr. Lassiter." Marty assures him.

But Lassiter is still unfazed by them. He doesn't care about them or anyone else. He is even colder than he was when he brutally murdered Rebecca and Carl. He is perhaps more dangerous today than he was six years ago.
