Aria enters the first floor from the basement through a door in the kitchen. She walks across the kitchen to the foyer. As she walks towards the front door, James marches down the stairs and sees her.
"Hello, Aria." greeted James.
"Hello, Mr. Monroe. Why aren't you watching the movie with us?" asked Aria.
"Oh, that's a you guys thing. I'm good with just being alone with my book."
"Suit yourself. I gotta go to my car to get my charger. Battery is dying."
"Okay."
Aria goes out the front door while James returns to his private home office at the other end of the house. Aria walks across the circular drive in front of the house that leads to the driveway, where everyone's cars are parked. She pulls out her key remote and presses the button to unlock her car. The car makes a clicking sound, indicating that it's unlocked. Aria reaches her car and opens the driver side door. She leans in and searches for the charger.
"There you are." Aria mutters to herself as she reaches for her charger.
Aria takes her charger and bends out of her car. She closes the driver side door. As she returns back to the house, she presses the key remote to lock her car back up. It makes two beeping sounds, indicating that the car is now locked. Aria makes up the steps to the front door. She grabs the doorknob and attempts to open the door. But for some reason it's locked.
"What the hell? Is this locked?" asked Aria.
Aria begins to bang on the door.
"Hey! Mr. Monroe!" shouted Aria.
However, James has put headphones to listen to music in his office, therefore, he cannot hear her. And the basement rec room is soundproof, so nobody can hear Aria from the basement.
"What the fuck?" Aria muttered.
Aria decides to walk to the backyard, hoping to find the backdoor unlocked. So she goes back to the driveway, which leads to the backyard. As she walks through the side, she sees James through the window of his office.
"Mr. Monroe!" Aria shouts to him.
But James is unable to hear her through his loud headphones. She begins banging at the window.
"HEY!" shouted Aria.
James still doesn't hear her. His back is facing the window and he is so focused on his book. He doesn't even know that she's right outside his window.
"What the fuck?!" exclaimed an irritated Aria. "Deaf old man."
James continues to be distracted by his loud music and facing away from the window that he doesn't see when Washington sneaks up from behind Aria and proceeds to attack her.
Aria attempts to scream but Washington covers her mouth to cover the screaming. To stop her from fighting him, he stabs in the chest. Aria screams out over this. He throws her to the ground and she lands hard on the ground, hitting her head hard on the cement walkway. She groans out over this. She looks up to see the frightening sight of Washington for the first time. Washington quickly stabs her again. This time, Aria is too hurt by this to scream any louder. All she can do is shriek or gasp in pain.
Washington proceeds to stab and slasher Aria all over her body; her chest, arms, legs, stomach, and back. He is extremely vicious to this poor girl.
"HELP ME!" Aria screams out. But nobody hears her.
Washington tears her body up with his knife. Blood is splattering all over his mask. Her chest, neck, and face are covered with her own blood. She begins to spew out blood from her house with each more stab she receives. She begins crying, knowing that she will not be saved. Her eyes roll back and she makes one last gasp. Washington raises his knife up in the air and slams the knife down hard into her heart. Aria goes silent and ceases to move. Aria Shaw is dead.
Maddy and the group come up the stairs from the basement through the door in the kitchen.
"She should have been back now." stated Maddy.
"Perhaps she had to use the bathroom." suggested Veronica.
"For twenty minutes?" asked Maddy.
"She might have needed to take a dump." suggested Zachary.
They walk out of the kitchen and into the foyer. Maddy can hear her father's loud music coming from his office. She sees that his office door is slightly opened. So she heads for his office and opens the door.
"DAD!" Maddy shouts.
But her father doesn't hear her. So she approaches him at his desk and taps on him. James realizes that his daughter is needing his attention. So he removes the headphones.
"Sorry, honey. What's up?" asked James.
"Have you seen Aria?" asked Maddy.
"I thought she went back to her car to get her charger."
"That was twenty minutes ago."
"Oh. Well, sorry, I have no idea where she went."
"Alright." said a disappointed and confused Maddy.
Maddy leaves the office, leaving the door open, and returns to the group standing in the foyer.
"Let's go check to see if she's still at her car." suggested Maddy.
"Right." agreed Finn.
Maddy grabs the doorknob and attempts to open it. But the door is locked.
"What the hell?" asked Maddy. "The door is locked."
"Unlock it." said Finn.
Maddy checks the bolt. It's not locked.
"That's weird. The bolt is not locked."
"That is weird." stated Finn.
Maddy keeps trying to unlock the door. But is unsuccessful in unlocking or opening the door.
"Dad!" shouted Maddy.
As James didn't have his headphones on this time, he was able to answer her.
"What?!" answered James.
"The door is stuck. It won't open." Maddy informs him.
"Did you try unlocking it?"
"Yeah. It won't open."
"Hold on."
James gets up from his desk and leaves his office. He walks through the living room to the foyer. He checks the bolt just like Maddy did and tries opening the door. But like with Maddy before it won't open.
"What the hell?" asked James.
James keeps trying to pull the door open.
"This stupid fu..."
Suddenly - James's office window shatters, which scares everyone. They all jump to find - Aria's dead body being thrown into the office. The body lands on the office floor. Everyone screams in horror upon realizing whose body it is.
"ARIA!" screamed out Maddy and Veronica.
"NO!" Rachel screamed out in horror.
James and the group look up in horror as they watch entering the house by climbing through the shattered window - WASHINGTON.
"What the fuck?!" exclaimed a terrified Finn.
As Washington slowly walks towards them, taking his time, James attempts to open the door. But he won't be able to open on time for them to escape. They have no choice...
"Backdoor!" James directs the group.
They all run to the kitchen. But rather than rushing to grab his escaping targets, Washington takes his time and walks. Confident that they won't escape from him. The group makes it to the backdoor and attempts to open the door. But like the front door, the backdoor is jammed and unable to open. This is why Washington is taking his time. He jammed the doors to prevent everyone from escaping him. They all face Washington as he enters the kitchen. They feel trapped.
"What do we do?" asked Rachel.
"When I say now, you guys run that way." James directs them to the other side of the kitchen island away from the backdoor.
Washington begins to walk towards them. Now is the time to make their move.
"NOW!" James ordered.
The group runs to their left to the other side of the kitchen island. Washington turns for them. But...
"HEY!" James shouted at Washington.
Washington turns to James.
"Yeah! You! Come get me, asshole!"
Washington obliges him. He ignores the kids and goes for James.
"Come on, motherfucker!" said James with his fists up.
James proceeds to throw punches at him. But Washington dodges them. The Killer swings his knife at James, who also dodges Washington's advances. Finally, James lands a punch at Washington, who falls to the floor. As Washington attempts to get up, James kicks him up in his face, forcing him backwards to the floor. James proceeds to run off to join the kids. Though hurt and on the floor, Washington attempts to slash his leg. But he misses as James runs out of his reach.
Maddy and the group are in James's bedroom. Maddy is going through James's nightstand in search of something.
"Found it!" exclaimed Maddy as she grabbed the object that she was looking for.
James makes it to the bedroom.
"We have to get out here before he gets up here." James informs the group.
But it's too late - Washington sneaks up on James.
"BEHIND YOU!" the Group warns James.
James turns around just in time to catch Washington's wrist as he attempts to stab him. Washington is able to tackle James to the floor. The two struggle over dominance as Washington attempts to jam the knife into him. But James is a lot stronger than he appears. The knife inches closer and closer to his chest.
"NO!" James groans at the Killer.
Maddy points a gun at Washington.
"HEY!" Maddy shouts at Washington.
Washington looks up to see Maddy pointing a gun at him. She pulls the trigger. But Washington ducks. He realizes that she's serious and a good shot. Before she can say or do anything else, Washington gets up, pulling James up with him, and uses him as a hostage.
"NO!" Maddy shouts.
Washington places the knife at James's throat, threatening him.
"Don't hurt him!" begged Maddy.
"Just shoot!" James encourages her.
"No." answered a crying Maddy.
"Just do it, baby!" James ordered his daughter.
Maddy concedes and points the gun at them. Realizing that she does intend to shoot, Washington pushes James into Maddy. James runs into Maddy just as she pulls the trigger, causing the bullet to fire up to the ceiling as they both fall to the floor. Washington makes a break for it. He's not going to risk getting shot.
James gets up and grabs the gun and goes after Washington. He runs downstairs. By the time he reaches the foyer, he sees the back of Washington running out of the house through the shattered window of his office. So he storms to his office, passing by Aria's dead body, and leaps out of the shattered window. However, upon running outside – WASHINGTON IS GONE.
James looks around the area with his gun drawn forward. But there is no sign of Washington anywhere. He escaped. James sighs in relief.
