~Dead End~

"Anani! Anani!" Hop pounded against the pile of rubble between them, but no sound was heard from the other side.
"Hop, you need to calm down!" said Marnie,"If we get too noisy in here, we might cause another accident!"
"But...Anani!" he cried out,"She could be hurt! ANANI! -Mmph-" Marnie forcibly cupped over his mouth to silence him. Meanwhile on the other side Anani lay, slowly coming to from the shock. She groaned in response to the muffled sounds of voices on the other side.
"Mmnh...Hop?" She grunted,"...Marnie?"
"Anani!" Marnie called out. And in quick reaction Hop slapped away her hand and spoke out.
"Anani! Are you okay!?"
"Mmngh...yeah...I think so..." she groaned as she sat herself up to regain her senses,"...Except there's a mud wall between us..." she groaned as she pressed against the rubble for any loose areas.
"Never mind that." said Hop,"I'm just glad you're all right." he sighed in relief.
"There's no way around it." said Marnie,"Hop and I are gonna have to find another way through. You too for that matter." she stated,"Keep moving we'll meet you on the otherside."
"O-Oh...yes all right." Anani grunted as she rose to her feet and studied the area she was in looking for a way to go. Fortunately there was only one path. So she took it. She followed the rail cart tracks on quick feet as the weaved through the tunnel, but the lighting only seemed to grow more dim. In a clearing ahead, however, was a person. He stood center in the clearing, sheilding his sharp violet eyes with the sleeve of his hot pink long coat. He growled in irritation.
"What's this!?" he huffed and coughed a bit through some dust clouds of the rubble.
"Hey...!" Anani called to him,"Are you okay?"
"Huh?" The boy blinked and flashed his eyes in her direction.
His...violet eyes...
She blushed a bit. For a boy, he was quite pretty...though upon realizing who it was, she almost regretted the thought-
"Hey...you're the boy from the registration." she stated,"And the Ceremony too-"
"Hmph, indeed." he scoffed,"I'm a Gym Challenger same as you, not that it matters." he stated,"You're clearly out classed." he huffed and turned to her, hip cocked to the left with his arms folded quite smugly. "So tell me...are you and your little friend the ones responsible for this!?"
"Huh? Well I..." she blinked,"I wouldn't say we're the total cause of it, no..." she stated.
"Hmph, leave it to the fools to muck things up." he sighed,"You coming this way, are you?" he blinked,"I'd advise against it." he stated,"It's totally blocked off...and besides." his eyes narrowed,"Any Trainer with a Wishing Star is sure doomed to a trouncing from me and my Poke'mon." he stated.
"Oh..." she blinked and quickly cupped her Dynamax band,"And who are you?"
"Hmph." he smirked,"The name's Bede. Not that it matters though." he huffed as he flipped his hair,"You won't survive long enough in this competition for me to even bother with what your name is." He blinked.
"Is now really the time?" Anani asked, "If this way is blocked then we need to find another way out!"
"Hmmm..." The boy called Bede pondered a moment as he stared heavily at her,"Wait." he blinked,"You're one of the trainers endorsed by the Champion, right?" he asked.
"My name is Anani." she snipped,"And so what if I am!?"
"Hmph." Bede scoffed,"You know the Chairman is more important than the Champion, right?" he shrugged,"I was endorsed by the Chairman himself!" he stated,"So as far as Importance is concerned, that makes me much more important than you!" he stated,"And much more amazing~"
Not to mention much more conceited...
Anani thought to herself.
Her non-response only seemed to raise his irritation.
"Hey." he called to her,"Battle me."
"Say what!?" Anani huffed,"You can't be serious!"
"I couldn't be more serious." He said as he held out his Poke'ball,"I will without a doubt, prove to you just how pathetic you are...and how strong I am!" he smirked,"You're out classed!" he huffed as he tossed his Poke'ball forward, and out popped a Soloaisis.
He's not giving me a choice.
Anani huffed as she tossed out a Poke'ball.
"Go, Po!" she said. And sent in her Pamcham.
"Is that a fighting type against my Psychic type!?" he laughed "So far it seems being Endorsed by the Champion has only proven what a morin he is- You do know I have the type advantage, right!?"
"Is that so?" Anani twitched. Man this kid was growing more and more irritating. Who cares if he's pretty when he's so annoying..., "Well come in then!"
True, Pancham was a fighting type...but it can also use some dark type moves. Which had an advantage over psychic types- Bede will come to find a surprise in what her Poke'mon has in store given its will power to last-
"Easy!" he scoffed,"With one move, I will finish you! Psywave!"
As a psychic attack against a fighting type, the move was super effective...but still Pancham didn't fall. Like trainer like Poke'mon- after having shocked Bede by its will-
Anani and her Pancham smirked.
"...Pay Back!" she said, and the small bear put its paws together while a massive black ball grew between them and shot forward at Soloasis, landing a 1 hit knock out.
"Impossible!" Bede gasped,"What sort of trickery is this!? " he growled,"You're clearly cheating!" he declared while calling back his Partner.
"Cheating? Try well-studied!" Anani huffed, "Of course I knew Pancham would be at a distadvanatage- but what kind of Trainer would I be if I couldn't prepare my Poke'mon to be able to stand toe toe against its type advantage if need be!?" she stated, "Pay Back is a Dark type move that doubles damage if it hits after your Poke'mon landed an attack on mine!" she stated, "Plus. Po is a Dark type too- not just a fighting type!" she smiled. One thing, if Anani knew anything at all, was Type Advantages, and stacking against them.
"HA! Clever indeed!" Bede seemed shocked at first- but then...he became rather impressed and flashed her a smirk as as he tossed out his second Partner.
"Gothita! Go!"
"Well faught Po!" said Anani as she called back her Pancham and smiled warmly at its Poke'ball in her hand, "You took massive damage from that Psychic type...I think it's best you took a rest." she smiled and smirked, "Let's go, Swiper!"
"Use Double Slap!"
"Quickly Swiper!" Anani called out, "Knock back its attack using Snarl!" she declared. And the small Poke'mon growled as the babt Psychic type charged in to prepare to land a hit. But after a mighty roar, atleast to a simple Nikit's standards- It sent Gothita back flying, being smaller in size- knocking it out cold as well. It was clear to see Bede was getting frustrated. His cheeks reddened and he blushed stubbornly with clenched fists at his sides, gripping the drape of his jacket.
"Lucky shot! Each one!" Bede huffed,"Go! Hatenna! Use Disarming voice!"
"Lucky? Maybe!" she beamed, "But a critical hit is a critical hit and Gothita is down for the count!" she beamed holdig out a V sign with her fingers while her Nikit snickered along victoriously.
"Go! Hatenna! Use Disarming voice!"
"Oh no!" Anani called out. After all Fairy tyoe attacks were super effective against dark types, and that Super effective hit was enough to Knock Nikit Nackered.
"You did your best Swiper." she said as she called him back now,"Rest now."
"Ha! I knew it!" Bede scoffed,"Lucky shot!" he shrugged,"I was just letting your Poke'mon have a chance to shine." he stated,"Hate to say it but I didn't see much." he smirked.
"Hmph..." Anani scoffed,"Go! !"
Bede smirked," Again! Use Disarming Voice!" With a loud cry, the hit landed, and while the damage was great, her purloin didn't fall.
"Shake it off, " said Anani,"And use Fury Swipes!" a useful move in itself. Not only was it normal damage against Bede's Psychic-fairy type Hatenna- but it paired well with the fact that it hit a total of 5 times.
"Hatenna! Come back!" Bede huffed,"Hmph...so it seems you're more able than I thought!" he scoffed as Anani called back her Purloin, "Not that I was trying all that hard to begin with..." he muttered and then shrugged,"Naturally, I will remember your battle style and technique and-AHH!" suddenly the ground shook beneath them.
"Ahhh!" Anani yelped as she tripped up, falling right against Bede.
"Oi!" he huffed,"What do I look like to you Princess?" he scoffed,"What an utterly frustrating little girl you are!"
"My name isn't Princess OR Little Girl "She huffed blushing in close quarters with his feminine beauty- "It's Anani!"
He wants to talk to ME about trickery!?
Anani scoffed as she thought to herself.
This guy is prettier than I am-!
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn what your name is!" he huffed as he pushed her off of him,"I'm done wasting time on you, I've already gatherd all the Wishing Stars in this area anyway and- AH!" Suddenly the floor crumbled beneath their feet.
"Hold on, Bede!" Anani called out as she tried to grab him back, but she lost her footing as well and they both fell into the pit of darkness beneath their feet.
