The Lesson At Turffield

"Okay~ explain!" said Marnie as she was seated next to a resting Anani. They had Finally made it to Turffield Poke'mon center to refresh their teams as well as bring down the swelling of Anani's ankle from their adventure in the mines.

"Explain what?" Anani blinked blushing awkwardly,"There's nothing to say!"

"Nothing to say!?" Marnie teased,"You and that Bede guy were alone together in the darkness of a collapsing mine~" she waved her arms dramatically, "Adrenylin! Heat! Passion~" she giggled,"Not to mention you two came out holding hands she said with a cheeky grin, "I wouln't call that nothing!" she laughed.

"But it really was nothing, I tell you!" Anani said,"I was hurt and he was helping me walk, that's all!"

"Hmm~" Marnie hummed,"Maybe...but you sure didn't look disappointed to be holding hands with him~" she teased with a cheeky grin,"Hmm...he's not exactly in my taste...but he is rather pretty all the same."

"If you mean rather petty," said Hop as he made his way into the room,"Then you'd be absolutely right!" he huffed,"Besides...There's no way someone like him is of Anani's taste." he huffed,"She's WAY out of his league!"

"Hmm~" Marnie hummed with a raised brow,"And you're certain it's not because you're jealous and think you're a better match then?"

"Huh?" Hop blinked,"Well I mean, of course I'm a better match but I-uh-" he blushed,"Oi! That's not the point here!" he huffed and quickly decided to change the subject,"Anani how's your ankle?" he asked her.

"It's fine now." she chuckled, honestly relieved to have had the change in discussion...As the softness of Bede's hand had yet to leave her mind...

And it was so warm too...

"I should be more than ready to take on Milo's Gym now." she stated,"What about you two, have you any luck in facing him yet?"

"Actually I was preparing to take my shot now." said Marnie,"And Hop?"

"Oh right." he blinked,"I just remembered I ran into Sonia a moment ago." he said,"She sent me to fetch you, Anani."

"Festch me? Really?" Anani blinked,"But why?"

"No idea." Hop shrugged, "She just asked for me to have you meet her on the hill."

"Very well...I guess I'll go then." she said.

Hop nodded.

"Good luck." he said,"I'll meet you at the gym, after."

It didn't take long to find the field that Anani was asked to meet Sonia at. Turffield wasn't a very big place. The Gym was packed for Challengers so Marnie and Hop went to register for their turn.

"Anani!" Sonia waved her over,"I heard you had some trouble in the mines...are you all right."

"Oh yeah." Anani grinned,"All better. So what's up Sonia? Did you need something from me?"

"Right." Sonia blinked,"I called you over because I wanted to hear your thoughts." She motioned Anani to follow as they went to over see an ominous geoglyph carved into a hill side. It looked like a giant monster building up a massive ball of energy aiming to fire it at the people below. The very sight sent shivers through Anani.

"So...the geoglyph." she blinked,"What do you think of it?"

"It...looks sort of like Dynamax..." Anani blinked.

"That seems likely..." Sonia nodded,"It certainly does look like a gigantic Poke'mon." she stated," I suppose people from three thousand years ago could have imagined this but..." she sighed,"It looks far too similar to Dynamax to be a coincidence."

"You mean Dynamax existed over three thousand years ago?" Anani blinked,"But I thought it was a rather new development."

"Who's to really say?" Sonia blinked,"A long time ago...a great black storm covered the Galar region."

"You mean the Darkest Day." said Anani.

"That's right." Sonia nodded,"Giant Poke'mon ran rampant." she stated,"But what exactly was this black storm that they called the Darkest Day" she asked,"And what connection does it have to Dynamax?"

"That is curious..." said Anani,"But why did you want to share this with me?"

"Well I figure, next to the Darkest Day, you're the next greatest mystery we know of." she chuckled,"So I thought you might appreciate it a little more than Hop~" she teased,"By the way...You ought to be heading off for your first Gym battle, yes?" Said Sonia,"Let me take this moment to wish you good luck."

"Thanks, Sonia." she smiled and waved,"I'll be off now...see you again!"

Anani rushed to the Stadium where she found Hop and Marnie waiting for her.

"Hey...is everything all right?" Hop asked.

"Yeah." Anani nodded,"Sonia just wanted to share something interesting." she blinked,"So how did it go?"

"See for yourself~" Marnie beamed as she flaunted her shiny new badge.

"Wow, amazing Marnie!" Anani clapped,"I wish I could have been there to see that." she chuckled.

"It's not just her." said Hop,"Take a look at this, Anani!" Hop beamed as he flashed his new badge as well and blushed,"Sorry Anani, I grew impatient in waiting..."

"It's all right." she stated,"I'm just glad you won."

"Now it's your turn, Anani." said Marnie,"Smash'em up good!"

"We're rooting for you, Anani." said Hop,"After all...the Championship wouldn't be the same without you in it!"

"Right!" Anani nodded,"I'll see you soon, then!"
