A/N: This chapter gets kinda crazy... It's 12:00 AM, I can't think straight. I'm sorry people. Have fun with this crappy chapter. I genuinely hate RItz Cracker.
3: The (Failed) Sleepover
(Fitz POV)
So, Biana said we were having a sleepover. I mean, all the kids have been sleeping at Everglen to keep an eye on Lilah, but she wants it like a normal sleepover. So Sophie suggested that we should play some human sleepover games. And here we were, sitting in a circle on the floor of the "Sleepover Room" as Biana liked to call it. "So, first we're going to be playing Truth or Dare!" Sophie said excitedly. "The rules are, someone has to ask a person truth or dare. If they choose truth, the person who asked will then tell them to answer the truth to a question they ask. If they choose dare, they have to do something that they choose. If you don't want to do it you have to remove a piece of clothing," she explained. Keefe nodded.
"Seems pretty easy." Sophie started first.
"OK, Lilah. Truth or Dare?"
"Truth," she responded, folding her arms. Today she was wearing something called a t-shirt, but it revealed the strap of her bra a little bit. It was white, and so was the curly thing she used to tie her hair. And she was wearing those weird things called jeans, but this pair had butterflies sewn on it and on the back it had some weird panel thing that said Hollister. Human clothes were weird.
"Do you like anyone in this room?" Sophie asked. Lilah blushed. She coughed, hesitated, and then said "I'm going to remove a piece of clothing for that one." She hid behind the couch and pulled her shirt over her head. I could only see her legs. "You have to stay in the circle, Lilah. You know the rules," Sophie said, folding her arms. Lilah groaned.
"Whyyyyyy? Please Sophie?"
"Nope," she said, popping the 'p'. Lilah sighed and inched her way back into the circle. And, because I didn't want her to be too embarrassed, I put my head down. All the boys followed suit, except for Keefe. "Is Godzilla Lilah shy?" he asked in a teasing voice. She let out another sigh.
"Shut up, Funkyhair," she said. Keefe gasped.
"How dare you insult me, Lord Hunkyhair? The one who owns the best hair in the world? Throw her into the dungeons," He said, with a snobby voice. Lilah giggled.
"I'm a black belt, there's no way that your guards can take me away." What's a black belt? Ugh, humans.
"Want to test that theory?" He asked, jumping up. OK, I had to watch this. I looked up and saw Keefe in a fighting stance, Lilah just standing there. I ignored her as much as I could. He charged, and she dropped to the ground, stuck her leg out, and spun. He instantly fell, and she jumped on top of him and pinned him to the ground. "Hah. Beat that, Funkyhair," she said. Keefe turned red. "Are you blushing?" she asked.
"No."
"You're definitely blushing!" She jumped up and dusted her hands.
"How did you do that without breaking a sweat?" He asked, confused.
"Eh. You're really easy to beat, despite me being 5'1 and you 5'9."
"How do you know my height?"
"I'm smart. It's easy," she said, folding her arms. Then her eyes widened, and she sat down quickly. "What? " Keefe asked.
"Nothing," she said, a little too fast.
"Guys, can we get back to the game?" Linh asked, and Keefe sat down too.
"OK, Dex. Truth or Dare," Lilah asked. Dex looked surprised.
"Uhm, Truth," he said.
"Who do you have a crush on?" she asked, an evil smirk on her face. Dex paled.
"I…um…" Then he realized something. "Piece of clothing!" he said, taking off the jacket he had on. "Ugh, I should have worn a jacket too," she said. He blew a raspberry at her.
"Fitz, Truth or Dare?" Dex asked. I panicked.
"Dare," I said, not wanting to reveal any secrets. But when I saw the huge grin on his face I knew I was in trouble.
"Kiss the girl you think is the most attractive in this room." he said, his smirk getting wider. My heart raced. Panic overwhelmed me. I had to do it, I didn't want to take off my tunic. So I took a deep breath, scooted over to Lilah, and kissed her. She pushed me away. "Eww! The Ritz Cracker kissed me! I'm contaminated with germs!" She jumped up and ran to the bathroom. Man. That hurt. Really bad. "Sorry dude," Keefe said, patting my back. "I think you did something before you met her, and now she hates you. You really don't deserve that," he said. I noticed Tam was glaring daggers at me, but I knew he was just jealous that I got to kiss the prettiest girl here. I'll have to make her mine somehow, even if it means forcing her. I'm a Vacker. I'm basically a prince. I can do whatever I wish. She burst out of the bathroom and came to sit down again. "I think I got all the Cracker germs out. Word of advice, if I act like I hate you, I probably do. Don't try that again," she told me. Man. She was feisty.
"OK, who thinks this game is getting out of hand?" Tam asked. Everyone raised their hands.
"OK, how about we play another game. Ooh! I know! Spin the bottle!" Sophie exclaimed
"SOPHIE ELIZABETH FOSTER!" Lilah screamed.
"What? We don't have to kiss on the lips, it depends on what the receiver wants," she said.
"Kiss?" Biana asked.
"Spin the bottle is this crazy game where you have to spin a bottle and whoever it lands on you have to kiss. I played that once and… nevermind. Trauma and ADHD don't mix well. I'll go really crazy," Delilah said. I shared a look with Keefe. Trauma? This game induce trauma? And what the heck is ADHD? Lilah snapped a glass bottle and placed it into the middle of the circle. "Oh, and can I put my shirt back on?" she asked Sophie.
"Yeah, sure," she replied. Lilah quickly put her shirt back on. Keefe had been glancing at her a lot when she wasn't wearing it. "Who wants to go first?" Sophie asked. Keefe raised his hand, and Sophie nodded. He spun the bottle, really hard. Soon, it came to a slow stop, and it landed on… Sophie! I felt a tinge of jealousy. Sophie liked Keefe more than me, and I hated that. I've mostly gotten over it. But now I don't have a girlfriend, and when a chance showed up I blew it. Great. They, obviously, chose lips, but it was a quick peck. Biana spun the bottle, and it seemed like she was concentrating on it. It spun on Dex, and I didn't need to be an empath to know she was happy. But I had a sneaking suspicion that she had used telekinesis. They did cheek. Marella did it next, and she got Dex. A bunch of more spins went on like this, until it was Delilah's turn. "Guys, if I start making weird faces at random times, it's me remembering the painful memories of today and before." She took a deep breath and spun the bottle. It spun for a long time, and this time Tam seemed to be focusing on it. And I'm pretty sure he used his power, because it landed on him. He seemed nervous. Lilah seemed… I don't know. Her expression was unreadable. She scooted next to him, and they had a very quiet conversation. I couldn't understand what they were saying. Tam shadow whispered a few times, and then finally, they did it. They kissed. On the lips. And that made my blood boil. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I screamed. They broke apart. "SHE'S MINE!" And with that, I attacked. I tackled him and punched his face and all of a sudden I felt cold surrounding me. Then extreme pain in my chest, where my echoes used to be. I gave a surprised yelp. I couldn't breathe. Tam removed the shadows and punched me in the stomach. I groaned. "STOP!" Lilah screamed. "JUST STOP IT! YOU'RE ALL ACTING LIKE FOOLS! I'M NOT AN OBJECT! I AM NOT YOURS! I CHOOSE WHO I LIKE, BUT RIGHT NOW IT'S NONE OF YOU!" And then she stormed out of the room and into the guest one.
