The police have taken over the school. All of the staff and students are still outside. But coats have been provided for them by the fire and police department. Parents have arrived to either pick up or join their kids.

Detectives DeLuca and Harding are at the scene. They enter the Principal's office where Investigators are going over the scene where the murder took place.

"This is where it took place." DeLuca correctly assumes.

"Extremely bloody." stated Harding upon seeing the blood soaked floor.

"And sick. Kills the Principal, pulls the fire alarm, and throws his body off the roof for the entire school to see."

"What kind of sick bastard would that?" asked Harding.

"The kind who would murder an innocent girl and her boyfriend before attempting to murder the younger sister." answered DeLuca, remembering Lassiter's first victims.

DeLuca looks down on the floor to see the bloodied letter opener that was used to murder Roosevelt.

"Well, this is a new one." stated DeLuca.

"What's that?" asked Harding.

"He used a letter opener. His usual weapon is a knife."

"Maybe he's getting creative."

"Maybe."

An Officer approaches them.

"So we've checked the entire school grounds. There is no sign of Lassiter or anyone who poses a threat to the school." the Officer informs them.

"Thank you." said DeLuca. "I think Lassiter did what he came to do and took off."

"Perhaps we should let the kids go." suggested Harding.

"I agree." said DeLuca before turning to the Officer. "Have somebody inform Mr. Hoover that they can release the students."

"I will handle it personally." said the Officer before leaving.

Maddy and the group are still waiting to be let go. They are all getting frustrated and annoyed at being forced to stay outside without leaving.

"When will they let us go?" asked Veronica.

"I want to go home." stated Rachel.

"This is such bullshit!" exclaimed Zachary.

"Maddy! Finn!" shouted a familiar voice.

The group looks up to see Calvin arriving. He runs over to his younger siblings and embraces them.

"I heard what happened." stated Calvin. "Are you guys okay?"

"Yeah." answered Maddy. "Just a little shaken up."

"More than shaken up." Finn added.

"How about you guys?" Calvin asked the others.

"We're fine." replied Veronica, Rachel, Zachary, and Victor.

Victor notices something and points it out to the group.

"Hey, look. It's Mr. Hoover." Victor points out to the group.

Mr. Hoover walks in front of the field of staff, students, and parents who all turn to him and give him their full attention. They're hoping for some good news.

"Good news, ladies and gentlemen...you are free to go!" Hoover announces.

Everyone jumps up and cheers with excitement. Hoover raises his hands up to signal that he's not finished yet. The crowd quiets down for him.

"We apologize for making you wait so long. And after speaking with the police, we have decided that school is suspended until further notice."

Everyone cheers over this news. Once again, Hoover signals with hands that he's not finished yet. Everyone quiets down for him again.

"Also the police have set an eight o'clock curfew for anyone under eighteen starting tonight."

Everyone boos over this.

"I know. I know. But it's for your own safety. So, please, go home, lock your doors, and be safe. Thank you for your cooperation and have a good evening. You may go now." Hoover ended his speech.

Everyone proceeds to gather their stuff and leave.

"Finally!" exclaimed Veronica.

"That took forever." said Zachary.

"I never wanted to go home so badly in my entire life." stated Finn.

"Do you all need rides home?" asked Calvin.

"Sure!" replied Rachel, Zachary, and Veronica.

"Victor?" asked Calvin.

"Okay." Victor accepted.

Calvin leads the group to the family van. Surprisingly, everyone is able to fit inside the van. Maddy sits in the front passenger seat next to Calvin. Finn, Rachel, and Victor sit in the front row of the back passenger seats and Zachary and Veronica sit in the back row of the back passenger seats. The group leaves together, finally free of the horrors of the school murder. For now.

James is sitting on the couch in the living room and working on putting together a photo album consisting of pictures of Calvin, Finn, and Maddy when they were little kids and pictures of himself and Elizabeth when they were younger and happy together. As James looks at pictures of his late wife, he fights back tears. A dark cloud of guilt shrouds over him.

Maddy walks in and sees her father working on the project.

"Hey, Daddy." greeted Maddy.

"Hello, Sweetheart." James greeted back, quickly wiping his tears away. But Maddy hasseen him crying.

"Crying again?"

"Yeah." James admits. "I just miss your mother so much."

"So do I." said Maddy as she sits with her father on the couch.

The father and daughter put their arm around each other to cuddle as they look at pictures of Elizabeth together.

"Mom was so beautiful." stated Maddy.

"You look just like her." James points out.

"Yeah." Maddy finally realizes what her father is doing. "So you're finally putting the photo album together."

"Yeah. Would you like to help me?"

"Sure. But we need more pictures."

"In my bedroom, in the closet, there should be a blue shoebox on the shelf with pictures in them. Why don't you go get them?"

"Okay."

Maddy gets up and marches upstairs. She goes into her father's bedroom and enters the walk-in closet. She turns on the light and sees lots of shoe boxes stacked up on the shelf. But she's too short to reach it. Maddy goes back into the second floor hallway, opening the middle closet, and takes out a foot step ladder. She drags the ladder back with her to James's bedroom.

Maddy uses the ladder to get up to the shelf where she can finally reach the shoe boxes. She finds the blue shoebox, which is marked PICTURES. There are two other shoeboxes on top of them. Instead of taking the time to remove them, Maddy just pulls the blue shoebox from underneath the other two. This causes the shoebox on top to fall on the floor, making the contents fall out of the box.

"Shit." Maddy mutters to herself.

Maddy steps off of the step ladder and proceeds to pick up the fallen contents from the first box. As she retrieves them, there is something about these contents, which are pictures and letters, that give her a weird feeling. LIke she wasn't meant to find these. She becomes disturbed by some of the pictures that she has found. They are pictures of her father with other women. Some that were taken around the time just before her mother's suicide. Then she finds love letters that are dated not long before her mother's death. This really gets to her. But then she finds a letter with bloody fingerprints on them. She opens the letter and reads it. Tears well up as she realizes what this letter is.

"Oh, my God!" Maddy exclaims to herself.

How could her father do this?

James is putting pictures into the photo album when the white shoe box is slammed onto the coffee table, making him jump. He looks up at his daughter and sees the distress and anger in her eyes.

"Honey, what is wrong?" asked James.

"You killed mom!" exclaimed Maddy.

James looks at the shoebox noticing the pictures and the letters. He realizes what his daughter has found out.

"Maddy..." James attempts to talk. But he knows he's in trouble with his daughter.

"How could you hurt mom like that?" asked Maddy.

James begins to cry as he begins to explain it.

"I don't know. I just...before your mom, I used to sleep around with women. I thought that if I ever found the right woman, I would stop. Then I found your mother and she was the one."

"But you didn't stop...did you?" asked Maddy, knowing the answer.

James tries hard to contain himself. But now he cannot.

"NO! I didn't!" James confesses.

Maddy is devastated by this. The truth finally comes out...

"That is why mom killed herself? Because you couldn't keep your fucking dick out of other women!" yelled Maddy.

James buries his face and cries over this.

"Yes." James admitted. "I'm so sorry, Maddy."

"You cheat on me and fuck other women like a trashy person. Yet, you judge who I date?"

"I'm just wanting what's best for you."

"NO! You don't get to tell me who I fucking date now. You have no fucking right."

"I..."

"I'm dating Victor McQueen!"

James is taken aback by this.

"You're what?" asked a heartbroken James.

"Yeah. I'm dating Victor McQueen, a guy whose family is not rich, but poor, and has a bad reputation. But Victor is more of a man than you ever will be. He would never hurt me like you hurt mom."

James is hurt by this. But he knows that she is more hurt than he is by his actions.

"I'm sorry...Maddy..." said James as he attempted to comfort his daughter.

But Maddy isn't having any of this. She moves away from him. She doesn't want him to touch her.

"Honey..." begged James trying to approach her.

But Maddy takes off running.

"Maddy!" shouted James as he chased after her.

Maddy storms out of the house and sprints down the street. James tries to chase her. But he can't get past the yard without losing his breath.

"MADDY!" shouted James before he broke down crying.

James is devastated and angry at himself. He has just destroyed his family. Things may never be the same ever again. He continues to cry as he walks back inside.
