Victor is lying on his bed and playing on his phone. Suddenly, he hears an urgent knocking at the front door. He recognizes the knock as somebody in duress. So he jumps off of his bed and hurries to the front door. He opens the door to find a crying Maddy.
"Maddy? What's wrong?" asked a concerned Victor.
"I just learned an awful truth about my father and I needed to come see you." said Maddy.
Victor nods. He understands that she needs somebody right now.
"Come in." said Victor, escorting her into the house.
Victor brings Maddy to the couch and they sit down together.
"Can I get you anything?" asked Victor. "Would you like some water?"
"Sure." replied Maddy.
"Okay. Be right back."
Victor gets up from the couch and goes to the kitchen. He opens the refrigerator and pulls out a bottle of water. He opens the bottle as he returns to Maddy on the couch.
"Here." said Victor as he hands the water bottle to Maddy.
"Thank you." said Maddy before taking a drink of the water.
"Tell me what's wrong."
Maddy takes a moment to collect herself. She sighs before telling him everything.
"I just learned why my mother killed herself." Maddy announces.
"Oh?" asked Victor.
"My father cheated on her with several women. He couldn't stay with just one woman. He had to have more. Mom was not enough for him and that is why she killed herself."
Maddy begins to cry. Victor comforts her by hugging her.
"I'm so sorry." Victor consoled Maddy.
"I finally told him. He knows about us now. He doesn't have the right to tell me that we can't be together after what he did. So I let him know and I don't care how he feels about it. No more secrets."
Victor smiles and nods.
"Okay."
It is six o'clock and the sun has gone down. There are only two hours left before curfew takes effect. Rachel approaches the front door of the Monroe house. She knocks on the door. The door is immediately opened by Finn. The couple are happy to see each other.
"Hey, babe." greeted Rachel.
"Hey, Rach." Finn greeted back.
The two kiss each other. Finn escorts Rachel inside the house and they head for the stairs. Finn turns to the living room, where his father is drinking heavily.
"We're gonna be upstairs." Finn informs his father.
"Okay." replied a distant James.
Finn and Rachel run upstairs. James finishes the drink in his glass. He grabs the whisky bottle and pours more into his glass. He intends to get drunk to drink away the pain that he knows that he caused. James turns to the large picture of his wife hanging over the fireplace.
"You deserved better than me." James told the picture of his wife.
James raises his glass to the picture and toasts it.
"To you, Elizabeth. The only woman I ever truly loved."
James drinks the whisky in one gulp. He continues to talk to his wife's picture.
"I'm sorry, Elizabeth. I should have treated you better. I didn't deserve you."
James pours himself another full glass of whisky. He drinks the whole thing up. Before he can pour himself another glass - Washington comes out from behind the couch and sneaks up on James, placing a rag doused with a sedative over his face. Washington is stronger and James is way under the influence of alcohol to fight back. The sedative takes effect and James is rendered unconscious.
Victor opens the oven and pulls out a freshly baked homemade pizza with pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, and olives. He places the pizza on the counter. Maddy inhales the smell and smiles over it.
"That smells so good." exclaimed Maddy.
"I make a mean pizza." declared Victor as grabs the pizza cutter.
"How did you learn how to make it?" asked Maddy.
"My mom taught me just before she and Dad went into hiding."
"I bet you miss her." Maddy guessed, understanding what it's like to not have a loving mother around anymore.
Victor takes a moment to decide how to answer this.
"I do." He finally confessed. "I mean...I hate my father for what he did. But they are my parents."
Maddy nods. She understands this very well.
"I guess you and I both have a reason to hate our fathers for the absences of our mothers."
"I suppose we do." agreed Victor.
After cutting the pizza into eight slices, he places two pizzas each onto a plate for Maddy and for himself.
"But we'll get through it. I know we can." said Victor as he walked back to the couch.
Victor hands Maddy a plate of pizza as he sits down with his own plate.
"Thank you." said Maddy.
"You're welcome." replied Victor.
They both take a bite out of their pizzas.
"Wow!" exclaimed Maddy upon tasting the pizza. "This is really good. You really do make a mean pizza."
"Thank you."
The two eat the pizzas together.
"Do you think that the Killer will ever be caught?" asked Maddy.
"I hope so." replied Victor. "I hope he is caught soon."
"I hope he dies." declared Maddy.
"I'm usually not one for capital punishment. But in this instance, I'd pull the lever myself."
"Yeah. I'm just afraid that the next he strikes, he will hurt someone else that I care about. Calvin, Finn, you, even my Dad though I'm mad at him."
"We're not going to let that happen. We will keep fighting back like we did last night. Lassiter will not take us down. We're so much stronger than he realizes."
Maddy smiles, loving his confidence and courage.
"You're a good man, Victor McQueen." Maddy complimented Victor.
"You're an amazing woman, Madison Monroe." Victor complimented back.
The two smile before leaning in for a kiss. They begin to make out.
Back at the Monroe house, Finn and Rachel open the front door to find Zachary and Veronica standing outside.
"Sup?!" greeted Finn as he gave Zachary a bro-hug.
"Sup, dude?!" Zachary greeted back.
"You know that we cannot be here for long. Curfew." Veronica reminded everyone.
"Don't worry. We'll be here for an hour and I'll take you home." Zachary assured her.
"Yeah. For now, let's have some fun. I got pizza on the way." said Finn.
"Sweet!" cried Zachary.
"I'll get stuff ready in the kitchen." said Rachel.
"I better go check up on my Dad." said Finn.
"You do that." replied Rachel.
"We'll be in the rec room downstairs." Zachary states.
"Alright." said Finn.
Everyone separates. Finn goes upstairs, Rachel goes to the kitchen, and Zachary and Veronica go down to the basement. Finn goes to the closed door of his father's bedroom. He knocks on the door.
"Dad?" Finn called out.
But there is no response.
"Are you okay?" asked Finn.
But, once again, there is no response. Concerned for his father's well-being, Finn opens the door to find - A bound and gagged James.
"Dad!" James cried out.
James tries to say something to him. But he cannot hear him.
"What?" asked Finn.
James sees somebody behind his son and tries to warn him. Finn spins around to see Washington. Before Finn can react, Washington grabs Finn and slams his head against the door, knocking Finn out. Finn's unconscious body drops to the floor. James gives Washington an angry look over the Killer hurting his son.
