A/N: Hello. I am rather new to both Vampire Diaries and fanfiction, but have instantly become hooked on the Klaus/Caroline pairing. This story is going to get pretty dark, but those of you who enjoy an obsessive and possessive Klaus the way I do, should find this right up your alley. However, If you do not like reading dub/con or similar themes I highly suggest you click the back button and do not return. It is going to be intense and graphic pretty much from the start.

This is alternate universe, all human.

Also, after the first few chapters this will be very sporadically updated. unfortunately my schedule does not allow for steady writing time, so I will not be able to update on a steady schedule.

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Vampire Diaries or any of its affiliated characters.

I also do not condone domestic abuse in real life; this is simply a dark fantasy. These are fictional characters. It is not real.

Devious Intentions

Chapter 1

Klaus Mikaelson owned Mystic Falls.

Well, not literally speaking of course; as putting something like that on paper would be far too incriminating. In actuality he was at the top of the chain of command at the local lab and distribution center that his father Mikael started several decades ago. The pharmaceutical company that more than half the town worked for in some way or another.

On the surface, Mikaelson Industries manufactured and developed prescription opioids. Though based in Virginia, they sold and distributed their products to a majority of the hospitals and pharmacies on the entire east coast of the United States, and many more across the rest of the country as well. They profited millions from this alone.

Millions, it turned out, was not enough for Mikael and his sons. Shortly after establishing their business in the nineties, his father found a way to more than triple their profits. In a secondary lab they were able to produce exactly double the quantity of the addictive drugs, and thus began to sell the other half on the black market behind the government's back.

Upon Mikael's recent demise, Klaus had moved back to his hometown for the first time since he'd been shipped off to a European boarding school at the age of 14, all in order to keep any of his brothers from taking over in his stead. He'd preferred the bustle of larger cities over the mundane town he'd been born in, but duty had called, and he had answered.

After completing his schooling, Klaus had returned to the states to take a position overseeing one of the smaller distribution centers in Louisiana. It was there that he had learned the ins and outs of the business, and unlike his brothers or sister he didn't mind getting his hands dirty when it came to rivals or disloyal employees. Since then, he had made quite a name for himself in the drug world. Under the psuedo name The Hybrid, he had been able to play the part of crime lord whilst hiding in plain sight. For that reason alone, upon his father's death a few months ago, he had been the one left in charge of the entirety of the family business. As the CEO of the company that made this small town flourish.

The townspeople had welcomed him back with open arms; relieved to see that he had no intention of moving the business to a larger city. He had promised them that he would uphold the same traditions his father had, and that Mystic Falls is where their headquarters would stay permanently... not that he could move it without the DEA discovering what he was really in the business of anyway.

It was now early in the month of April, and he was seated in his office; looking over the false accounting books that his brother Elijah had emailed him that morning. It was time to fool the IRS yet again; the first time since he'd taken over the company in January.

He was just lifting his steaming cup of espresso to his lips when the light on his desk phone began to blink red; followed shortly by his secretary on speaker informing him that Mayor Lockwood was here to see him again.

Richard Lockwood was starting to become the bane of his existence. As both a descendant of one of the first founding families of Mystic Falls, and as long reigning mayor of the town, he had been entitled to all of its secrets. Along with the Salvators, and the Fells, whose families tended to switch back and forth by electing a son or daughter as the new mayor every decade or two, helped use their political power to keep the underground business hidden.

While the founding families helped shield The Mikaelsons from the government, they received endorsements and financial backing in return. It was a good deal; one that was very beneficial to all parties, and Klaus was very keen to keep things that way, bane of his existence or not.

"Let him in, Mary." He replied with one finger on the comm button.

Expecting it to end in a repeated argument between himself and the middle aged man, who still didn't seem quite convinced that nothing would change under his rule, Klaus took a long sip of the black liquid in his cup. He secretly wished it was something a little stronger to get him through the oncoming conversation without snapping the mayor's neck. Oh what he wouldn't give for a bourbon at that moment.

The door across from his desk opened just as he was setting the china cup back down on its saucer; the two pieces clanking together loudly as he was caught off guard. Instead of the tall, dark haired man he expected to come through the door to antagonize him, there was a petite, blonde girl he'd never seen before.

Klaus's breath caught in his throat, and he nearly choked on the hot liquid in an attempt to swallow it down. There before him, was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen; wearing a simple purple sundress with a gray cardigan covering her shoulders. She was slim, and young and he could instantly picture her naked; legs open, and spread out on his desk like a proverbial feast. His mouth both watered and went dry at the exact same time.

Lately, he'd been too engrossed in the business to seek out a casual bedtime playmate. He was absolutely itching to have a good go in the sack, but had believed there to be no women interesting enough in Mystic Falls to waste any of his precious time on. Not until now at least.

Right now he very much wanted the woman in front of him; preferably bent over his desk, and begging for his cock.

"Why Mayor Lockwood," He smirked in an attempt to cover his lecherous thoughts. "You've changed."

Though the gorgeous blonde had already opened her mouth to no doubt introduce herself, she faltered upon hearing him speak; turning to look behind her with a quizzical look on her face instead. It was then that he noticed a short stack of brown folders in one of her arms, and he became even more curious as to what she was doing here.

"Give my regards to Ben, won't you Mary?" He then heard the voice of Richard Lockwood from the still open door.

Alone, the two shared a look as they waited for the mayor to join them. One where they both looked each other over curiously, having never met before. She changed her posture slightly and smiled at him; obviously attempting to look older and more professional in front of the town's wealthiest business man.

Seconds later, the mayor's back became visible; he was walking backwards as he mindlessly chatted with the woman who had been Mikael's secretary for almost thirty years. The practically ancient old broad who had become the other bane of his existence since his arrival. Like most small towns, pretty much everyone who was anyone knew each other; making it impossible for Klaus to fire her six months before she was scheduled to retire. Something like that would attract too much negative attention.

With another wave and a bid of farewell to Mary, Richard finally turned to join them. "Ah, Niklaus. Sorry to stop by without making an appointment first, but there was something rather time sensitive that couldn't be put off. I was supposed to run it by you last week, but it completely slipped my mind until Caroline, here, reminded me this morning."

'So the pretty young thing's name was Caroline.' He thought to himself, as another image of her naked and spread eagle on his desk popped into his head.

"It's no problem at all actually." He replied, setting the documents he was looking at to the side. "So what was it that you needed?"

"The judging of the Miss Mystic Falls pageant." Caroline spoke up instead of letting the Mayor talk. She approached his desk confidently before laying her stack of folders in front of him.

Her voice was sweet in his ears as she explained herself. It practically dripped with honey, and the naughty images in his head turned to pictures of himself exploring her mouth thoroughly with his tongue. He bet she'd taste just as sweet as her voice.

"It's in two weeks, and your father, as usual, was scheduled as the final judge." She continued as he flipped the top folder open. "Anyway, the rest of the girls and I were hoping that you'd take his place. Not only as a way of honoring his dedication to this town, but as a way for the town to thank you for all you've done since taking over here as well."

The folders contained all of the pageant girls applications and poorly written biographies. Klaus wanted to groan. He always hated that stupid tradition. Of all the things he had to do to pull off his cover as a town positive, family business man, this was bound to be the biggest waste of time. Unfortunately, it was something he'd have to grit his teeth and bear anyway. Refusing an honor like that would sit with the town council about as well as firing his seventy-two year old secretary.

"Wow. The Miss Mystic Falls Pageant." He replied as he nodded his head; pretending to act nostalgic. "That sure takes me back. My sister Rebekah won the title herself several years ago."

"She did?" Caroline's smile turned rather forced, making him even more curious about why she'd wanted to meet with him in person.

"It was the only year my father stepped aside as judge. He wanted her to be able to participate without the town thinking he'd be biased towards her." He forced a smile of his own. "News Flash though; he wouldn't have been."

"Good to know." That last bit of information seemed to perk her up again and the corners of her mouth stretched into a happy grin as she nodded. The movement caused his eyes to focus on her lips again. They were red and glossy and he had to stop himself from imagining what they would feel like wrapped around the appendage already hardening in his pants.

He really needed to get laid, but even more so he needed to get a hold of himself. She was obviously still in high school, which also meant too young for him to be thinking about in this way. But no girl had ever caught his attention as much as this, especially in such a short amount of time after meeting someone.

"You know what, I would love to." He replied, unsure if he was actually lying or not. On one hand he thought the pageant was rather outdated and sexist, but on the other it would likely be an excuse to see this Caroline again; and with it a potential opportunity to get into her pants. Surely if she was a contestant in the pageant that meant she was about to graduate, which meant she'd likely at least be of legal age, though just barely.

"Great." She smiled widely at him. "I'll let Carol know you've agreed, and have her email you the schedule of events."

"That will be fine." He held her gaze for a long moment. "Thank you."

Sensing that she was taking up too much of his precious time, she broke his gaze with a polite wave in order to make her exit. "Okay, well I actually better get to class. Thank you for letting me interrupt."

"No problem at all Caroline." He bid her, enjoying the way her name rolled off his tongue. "I'll see you at the first event."

She gave a polite nod before turning to the door, and he had to force himself to turn to Richard Lockwood instead of checking out her backside for far longer than would be appropriate. He realized once she was gone that he was now so hard it was almost painful, and internalized yet again that there had never been another woman in his life that had effected him quite as much as this one.

He wanted nothing more than to kick everyone else out of the building and go find her. To drag her back into this room and have his way with her in every position imaginable. He wanted to touch her, taste her, torment her, and tame her. To make her his in every way possible.

Klaus Mikaelson always seemed to get what he wanted, and so he was already certain that by the end of Summer, Mystic Falls wouldn't be the only thing he owned.
