-Joyful Wild
Oskar walked through the halls of Castle Rysen admiring its beauty. He walked in silence as he went by the paintings on some of the walls. Some were of landscapes and some were of libraries (which he admired the most) and other places that were in Anniera. He soon came to a long hallway on his right that was filled with paintings of people on both walls and it went all the way down to a dead end. The first one he looked at was on the right wall and the people in the picture looked mighty familiar. He saw that on the bottom of the picture frame was gold plate that said, "King Esben Wingfeather and Queen Nia Wingfeather with their children Janner Kalmar and Leeli Wingfeather." Oskar looked back up and marveled at the painting and how the artist got every detail perfectly. He took out his notebook and pencil and took notes as he continued to walk down the halls and looked over every painting of the royal family ancestors. Once he got to the end his sank a bit realizing that there was no more to see. He wondered if there was any more hallways that were like this but then he noticed something about the picture frame. There was a piece of it in the corner that looked like it had popped out. So Oskar slowly pushed it in then he heard a click behind the wall. The wall opened up like a door and inside he saw a staircase that went down lined with torches on the wall. And in between the torches were more paintings of the family.
Oskar looked around to see if anyone was there then he went in just in time to see the wall close. He didn't know how to get out but that didn't matter to him more than seeing what the staircase led to. He started studying more and more of the paintings and there were a few times where he had to stop for a break. "In the words of General Shnip," He said to himself, " We can only rest for so long. History awaits to be discovered." He kept on walking then he sighed with relief when he reached the bottom of the stairs. It led to a room made of stone that was in the shape of a circle and it seemed to glow with all the torches that lined up the wall. In the middle of the room was a stone and in the stone was a sword that shone in the torchlight. Oskar walked up to the sword and examined it. He wanted to pull it out but it didn't feel right to do so. He sat down on the ground when he noticed the markings on the stone. It looked like ancient Annieran but he could only make out a few of the words. This is the...of the first...of...Anniera. It is to be passed from...to...to. Oskar wrote down the characters on the stone to translate it later. Then he saw a painting behind the stone and gasped. It was a painting of a man who wore bright clothes and stood his sword in front of him with his hands on the guard of the sword. But his face looked undeniably like Janner.
He looked at the golden plate to find out who he was and his eyes went wide when he saw what it said. It said. "This is Janner Wingfeather the First Throne Warden of Anniera. Oskar quickly went up the stairs and down the hallway to find Janner. Then he found Janner walking next to Artham and called for them. They turned around and started to look worried when they saw him tired out. "Oskar! Are you okay?" Artham said as he put a hand on Oskar's shoulder.
"Yes, I'm alright. There's just something that you should see."
"What is it?" Janner asked looking more worried.
Oskar pulled out his book and showed them the wrighting that he saw on the stone and explained what he found in the hallway and the room. Artham's eyes went big as he read it. "So are you saying that you found the Sword of the First Throne Warden?!" Artham exclaimed.
"Well, I found the painting of him but I don't know about the sword."
"That's what these characters say."
"Wait you can read that?" Janner asked.
"I learned on how to read ancient Annieran when I was a kid."
"So you know what that says?" Oskar asked with hope in his eyes.
"It said that it was the Sword of the First Throne Warden and that it is to passed down from one Warden to the next." Artham said.
"Well this will require a lot of research." Oskar said.
"If you want me to help I'll be happy to." Artham said.
"Oh yes. I want to hear all that you know." Oskar said with a smile.
"Can I join?" Janner asked.
"Yes. As a Throne Warden you need to know this." Artham said.
Then they walked through the halls talking about the history of the Throne Wardens.
